You'd better sit down for this one

I'm certain we're all just absolutely shocked by this revelation:
U.S. intelligence officials knew within 24 hours of the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that it was a terrorist attack and suspected Al Qaeda-tied elements were involved, sources told Fox News -- though it took the administration a week to acknowledge it.  The account sharply conflicts with claims on the Sunday after the attack by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice that the administration believed the strike was a "spontaneous" event triggered by protests in Egypt over an anti-Islam film.
It's always so hard to see innocence shattered.  So much for the feared rage of Jihad Boy.  Sure, we all knew that Obama and his handlers were liars, but the remarkable thing is how bad at it they are.  Mitt Romney, now, there is a politician who can tell perfectly credible lies without blinking, insofar as he can resist contradicting himself.

Admitting that it wasn't the film that triggered it would mean they'd owe the filmmakers an apology. Leftists only apologize for the behavior of others, because only Others are ever in the wrong.

Anonymous Mrs. Pilgrim September 27, 2012 2:10 PM

...Flying caps there on the second "others", due to poor editing. My bad.

Neither of these guys wants to be president. What exactly is going to happen in the next 4 years that makes them shirk it so?

Anonymous C. September 27, 2012 2:20 PM

I wonder if all the foaming-at-the-mouth neocons who immediately demanded war with Libya because of this spontaneous anti-American uprising are now going to tone it down a bit.

...nah, probably not.

Anonymous JI September 27, 2012 2:21 PM

Al Qaeda, understanding what Americans are like, knew beforehand that such a film could be created, so therefore would probably be created. Hence, the attack was based on the film. So the O! Administration was completely truthful all along.

Blogger swiftfoxmark2 September 27, 2012 2:24 PM

It is amazing how stupid the American people are. They actually thought that a YouTube video, which nobody knew about until after the attack, was responsible for an organized attack on an US embassy in a country that probably has no decent Internet connections anyway? MPAI

I love how everyone in America is somehow afraid of Muslims taking over the United States and I am amazed at how the government will use this irrational fear of 4 million people in order to try and get us to war with the other billion.

Man, I thought you were jesting. I am completely aghast that terrorists would launch political violence against one of Barry's gay acquaintances in power and that it wasn't Kal Penn.

I really should have sat down.

When they first came into the Rose Garden, the faces on O&the lizard queen said it all. They weren't sad, upset, worried, but were there to deliver a lie of crass proportion. Their spin people in the next weeks have had on the same face. In your words, they were working very hard at not blinking.

Romney is quite scary. He does the "smile thing" (can't tell he is blinking because he is squinting) and it could turn out to be worse...

It's been 16 days, and no one in the media is asking why there were not a bunch of attackers killed during the attack on the compound. (If any were killed, I haven't been able to find any mention of it.)

The answer, of course, is that the people in the compound were disarmed and defenseless and the US government refused to send help. Regardless of what you think about our involvement in the Middle East, it's disgusting that our government would send people into harm's way and not allow them to defend themselves.

IN Egypt, the USMC Embassy guards were forbidden by the ambassador from carrying live rounds. I guess she got the idea after watching Aliens. Of course, she was safely in DC when the Cairo embassy was attacked.

There were two former Seals killed in the attack. They ran to the gunfire. They sold their lives very dearly.

It's is also disgusting that our troops in the 'Stan are under stricter ROE's than the NYPD. If they shot up Kandahar and wounded 9 innocent bystanders to kill one bad guy they would be on their way to a Courts Martial.

I suspect several Al Queda got greased at the consulate. The two former Seals should have got several in a two hour firefight.

State Dept. switches from lying about Benghazi to lying about having lied about it

Anonymous Thin Skinned September 27, 2012 5:13 PM

I don't want to defend President Barry O and his administration, but the same argument that was used Baby Bush against the accusations that there was information about something being planned in 2001.

Of course it's their jobs as intelligence professionals, but I imagine it's really hard to separate the real threats from the noise. So if there was intelligence that something was to go down in Benghazi that night, how many other "reports" for the time frame proved to be false alarms?

Blogger ajw308 September 27, 2012 5:24 PM

Mrs. Pilgrim,
The film makers owe the muzzies a big heartfelt thanks. If it wasn't for the muzzies and the colluding US gov't, I'd have never even heard of the film nor seen it.

Anonymous Noah B. September 27, 2012 5:32 PM

"I suspect several Al Queda got greased at the consulate. The two former Seals should have got several in a two hour firefight."

But what evidence is there that the SEALs killed anyone? The silence is deafening. SEALs typically have equipment that will provide a realtime satellite uplink for DoD's viewing pleasure (AN/PAS-13's, for example). So someone in Washington has a pretty good idea what happened, they just aren't talking.

There was a brief discussion of this on freerepublic, but a total blackout from the MSM as far as I can tell.

Blogger Doom September 27, 2012 5:44 PM

Oh, no need to sit for this. Most who might need to sit, if this was news to us, knew it was a lie when we saw Zero and his zombies begin beating the drums. Their lips were moving. The ones who believed Zero and zombies... will forget all about all of it as soon as they can suspend belief. But for most of them, belief is so heavily jacked that coming down one atmosphere would be such a small thing if it happens at all that it wouldn't disrupt their theoretical orbit above and beyond reality at all.

I have an uncle who lies, then turns around and lies about the lies, and lies to cover the lies, and lives in a complete alternate universe that way. Now, I do love him. He is my uncle, he was a good uncle as a kid, he is a generous and hard working man. I learned to never believe a thing he says though. If he says it is raining, I suspect it is a perfectly sunny day without a cloud in the sky... if once in a while he does tell the truth to see if you are awake. The difference? I don't love Zero, he isn't a good man, he isn't a hard worker, he never has done a thing good for me or mine or anyone to my knowledge, and he never tells the truth, ever. Even now he is talking out of both sides of his mouth on the thing.

Blogger Doom September 27, 2012 5:47 PM

As for Romney? I think he and Ron Paul are both excellent liars. They both cover and retreat at exactly the right moment to keep the flow going. They are logical liars, in that they don't lie about what can't be fudged, they avoid getting caught in their lies for the most part. And when they do, they are as cool as glass. Hell, they might even apologize, just to be tricky.

Anonymous WaterBoy September 27, 2012 5:47 PM

Noah B.: "SEALs typically have equipment that will provide a realtime satellite uplink for DoD's viewing pleasure (AN/PAS-13's, for example)."

They weren't active SEALs; they were (apparently) former SEALs who were either civilian employees of the State Dept, or private contractor security personnel under contract to the State Dept. Thus, there would have been no DoD uplink as the DoD was not involved.

Turns out the vile anti-Islam film was made by Palestinian jihadis:

innocence-of-muslims-film-was-made-by-terrorists

Court documents reveal that Nakoula Bacile Nakoula, producer of the movie Innocence of Muslims, partnered in a scheme with Eiad Salameh, my first cousin.

Eiad is a Muslim terror supporter and is not an Egyptian Copt.

He comes from Beit Sahour, Bethlehem and is well known by the FBI and the Arab community as a conduit for Middle Easterners who can obtain authentic, legitimate identifications, from passports to credit cards that include many nationalities. He then places these forms of identification into the hands of dubious characters that are not the real identity.

In fact, I revealed Eiad Salameh way before this whole fiasco erupted—in 2008 and the first reporting on the connection between Eiad and Nakoula was revealed on September 14th, 2012 by the Smoking Gun, which published court documents that prove these two were connected in 2009, as part of a major financial fraud scheme.

True, I had forgotten that they were former SEALs. Nevertheless, being primarily responsible for an ambassador's security, it seems unlikely that they were not well equipped and in constant video and/or audio contact with Washington while they were being attacked.

But who knows for sure...maybe they were waiting on hold the whole time.

We're either looking at massive lies or total incompetence. No way around that.

Obama and Hillary will never believe that the US is at war with Islam. They believe that the US is just trying to spread peace so any negative backlash is just a misunderstanding. Delusional. All while Islam slowly creeps.

Barb over at youtube has a new video today essentially arguing that Western society is doomed due to inherent structural flaws. Seeds of destruction and all that. Therefore, it is no point in pointing fingers.

This should be great debate material, because we need to find a way past the two-party system, and one that doesn't include the hardcore religious and hardcore atheists calling the shots.

Don't you see, when the Iranians get the bomb they will not waste it on Israel? This will only guarantee mutual destruction for both nations.

Their goal is to hold it over a fearful Europe and the US. They will then be able to expand Islam everywhere.

If they threaten Europe, the Russians will nuke them. Europe buys a lot of Russian oil.

Besides, the Saudis are doing a fine job of spreading radical Islam around the world with their oil money.

The Saudis are more concerned about Iranian expansion of influence than they are of Israel's existence.

Sunni/Shia schism. Probably more cantankerous than the Infidel/Believer distinction.

A self preservative Western strategy would be to exacerbate this as much and as often as possible.

Obama, however, wants everyone to get along. Most suspicious.

We were told to be afraid of the Pakistanis getting the bomb too. Pakistan doesn't seem to be using the bomb to spread islam.

Iran wants the bomb for the same reason that North Korea did, to protect themselves from being pushed around. All you have to do is watch the treatment nuclear nations get from Uncle Sam versus non-nuclear ones to see the benefits of the bomb.

Uncle Sam has made it clear. If you don't have the bomb and run afoul of the US, you get the Saddam treatment. Even if you voluntarily give up the bomb, that still doesn't get you anything. Just look at Libya.

Do you think the leaders of Iran have not seen what has happened to Gaddafi? And this was the guy who complied with our demands to give up his dreams of a bomb. Why would the Iranians think they are any safer?

We might not like it if they get the bomb, but all our actions seem to be incentives for them to get one.

That's because Mitt is a full melonhead. Whereas Ron Paul has a deep thal front.

That's why the qualifier "ruddy" is there.

The hair itself is meaningless unless you look at the somatotype as well (thin-gracile vs. bulky-sturdy).

This model is not mine, and very incomplete right now. Assuming it is correct. So far I suspect the face-reading is spot on, but I am skeptical about the back of the skull.

In other news, the dreaded Jooo theory of US foreign policy is once again confirmed:

Pat, Scott, and I held a press conference in the National Press Club building in Washington for the launch, where I realized from the word go how deeply mistrusted and loathed is anyone who describes himself as a paleoconservative. The coverage by The New York Times and Washington Post had more to do with my drug bust of a quarter-century before than the startup of a new political biweekly. During the press conference I was asked time and again if I was using Saudi money. Saudi money? I’d rather catch the clap than use camel-jockey moolah, but it illustrates how much homework the Fourth Estate does. I’ve only been writing against them bums for 30 years, was all I said.

In Hollywood melodramas, the bad guys are always revealed toward the end and more often than not, they get their comeuppance. Not in real life. The same bad old neocons are still at it. The Kagans, Feiths, Frums, Kristols, Podhoretzes, Ledeens, and Wolfowitzes, just to name a few, may not be working for the Obama Administration, but they are busy beating the war drums where it counts: on television and in the press. Their greatest supporter, the Israeli lobby, is also working overtime.

Assuming, you in fact, have a melonhead type skull.

Skeleton
Gracile - Melonhead genes
Bulky - Neanderthal genes

Melonheads: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boskop_Man

You find them in Asia and Latin America as well. Really they should be called "dolichocephalic men." The real question is, what does that mean for us? Or are they just some meaningless aberation?

For people reading this and thinking this sounds crazy, keep in mind it was just a couple of years ago that anthropologists finally admitted Homo sapiens has Neanderthal genes in the present day.

If the theory turns out wrong, I'll discard it like yesterday's newspaper. I like to be on the cutting edge of things.
