Alert the OED

Roissy coins a new term:
When men are men and women are women, the sex is more frequent. And probably hotter, too. When men are scalzied manboobs and women are manjawed feminists, the bedroom is an arid wasteland of dashed passion.

Sexual polarity — the primal force that adheres the cosmic cock to the celestial snatch — is the truth of truths that belies every feminist assertion ever made in the history of that insipid, leprotic ideology. May the losers of the world quake and fall to their knees before its divine directive.

This isn’t a truth borne of social constructs, or of cultural conditionings, or of privileges of privilege. It’s a truth woven into the fabric of our origin atoms, the glue that binds our helical commandments and reaches outward to breathe life into the monolith of our souls.

It is what is.
The man is a wordsmith of uncommon skill and violence.  He takes words and makes them his own in much the same way McRapey informs us he treats women.  And speaking of McRapey, it was more than a little amusing to see Roissy utilize the term "scalzied" in a sentence.

But precisely what does it mean for someone to be scalzied?  In the context given, I can only conclude that it means for a man to have become accustomed to assuming a servile and inferior demeanor in relation to women based on a mistaken impression that doing so would curry favor with them.  Naturally, I defer to Roissy if I have somehow failed to grasp his neologism in its entirety.

As for the study that is the main subject of his post, I'll address it on Alpha Game tomorrow, since a considerable number of people have been kind enough to bring it to my attention.  Translation: thank you and you can stop emailing it to me now....

UPDATE:  Johnny is very bravely keeping a smile on his face and attempting to pretend that he thinks this is all so very much fun and adorable.  Which is great, because I certainly find it amusing too and I'm more than happy to continue to amusing him and his fellow rabbits accordingly. The thing is, he appears to be under the misapprehension that I had anything to do with whatever it was that inspired his latest inspirational message.  Unfortunately, I can't take any credit for it.  Strangely enough, I'm responding to a post he wrote about me describing how I frequently write about him when I hadn't, in fact, done so.  This is all beginning to get a little meta.

"Folks, as you may know, out there on the Internets there is a Racist Sexist Homophobic Dipshit who at the moment has an adorable mancrush on me. This means that he can hardly go a day or two without saying something about me on his Web site, usually something which reflects his own deep and abiding personal insecurities. And of course, this is his prerogative; if it makes him feel better about himself and pumps up his social status with his clutch of equally insecure racist sexist homophobic dipshit admirers, then by all means he can spout as much garbage about me as he likes. It does no harm to me (as noted before, no one outside his little huddle of bigots gives much mind to anything he has to say about anything, much less anything  he has to say about me) and I suppose it keeps him from playing in traffic. So, fine."

Isn't it wonderful that everyone is fine with it?  It should certainly be fascinating to see McRapey attempt to pretend The Chateau is as trivial and little-regarded as Vox Popoli.  I wonder what clever name he'll come up with for Roissy?  I am, after all, but a humble superintelligence, while Roissy is the one of the true geniuses of our generation.

scalzied

In my head it's a lit bit of onomatopeja. It would sound like scalded, and tazed. Which just might be accurate.

Anonymous Lysander Spooner January 31, 2013 2:47 PM

Gynocentrism, the double headed snake of feminism and traditionalism, repulse the cosmic cock from the celestial snatch.

Feminism, screeches for equality as long as women are more equal than men.

Traditionalism, feigns helplessness, and begs for inequality as long as women are more equal than men.

Teh Boyz need to grow a pair and reject both, and yes the sex is great and in great frequency.

Anonymous A Visitor January 31, 2013 3:00 PM

Scalzied. I laughed.

I do like how the study he cites (I read his entire post and some of the comments) just reaffirms traditional gender roles. I may be bold in making such a prediciton, but I believe in 20-30 years time feminism will be regulated to the closet. Masculinity will be back with a vengance.

He's a rapist cross-dresser who insults women, Todd, and based on wardrobe alone, he's not mentioned around these parts quite nearly enough.

Supply and demand.

Anonymous GreyS January 31, 2013 3:01 PM

I really have to question Roissy's judgement on this. Doesn't he know he could be labeled a "Racist Sexist Homophobic Dipshit" at any moment?!?! He should retract this ASAP or face the consequences.

Anonymous A Visitor January 31, 2013 3:02 PM

@Todd

I've been reading here a bit (I apologize to any of the legacy here at Vox if I get it wrong) and Scalzi refers to John Scalzi, an effiminate man who writes the blog, "Whatever." He takes offense of Vox's libertarian (in my opinion, traditional) political views, as well as a strong pro-masculinity stance.

Scalzi recently wrote a post where he basically admitted to being a rapist.

There was a news article plastered everywhere in the MSM about the fact that households where men do less housework, less dishes, etc get laid 1.6x more often month to month than men who do more.

Of course they came to no eye-opening conclusions nor did they attempt to.

Considering how willing they usually are to jump to conclusions with little data it's really funny when they jump to no conclusion when there's a lot of data.

Anonymous Daniel January 31, 2013 3:07 PM

Yeah, when an otherwise decent delta temporarily doormats himself over a high status woman, he can tell his buddies afterwards that he just came down with a short term case of cerebral scalzi.

But full-blown? There is no known cure for the scalzi.

Technically, though, isn't the technical term for "scalzied manboob" a "scalzied assbag?"

As in:

Beulah Manjaw: Oh, hi, Roe Wade! You look fabulous! Are you going to the empowerment training?

Roe Wade: Thanks! I sure am. You look great, and what is that accessory on your arm? Your husband?

Beulah: Oh, go on girl! That's my assbag.

Roe (gasps in envy): Not...scalzied?

Beulah: Naturally. It doubles as a footstool!

Anonymous RINO January 31, 2013 3:14 PM

Squats, Deadlifts

Both are heavy, compound lifts known to increase the release of testosterone. I'm not sure if such therapy has been tested on anyone afflicted with scalzi.

Although Genesis is the proper starting place for those who accept the myths and fables of Jesus and all of that stuff moderns so disdainfully ignore ...

The man/woman/man vs. woman stuff simply refuses to go away! Oxygen to be breathed. Water and its wetness; the bears and their habits in the woods and all. But now, we need to send the Daddys' princess' into full combat, doncha know?

That will be a bavarian, as are all other social experiments of the feminists and gummint. Send Mama to die for her country! Equality matters!!!

Sweet Jesus! I truly think we are playing out the string AFTER the Seven Bowls of Wrath have already visited us.

Thank God in His Heaven I did not marry a feminist. She enjoys being a woman, I enjoy being a man. Lo and behold, we get along famously. And we have a wonderful time "gittin nekkid."

I am sure it is mere coincidence. Yah! Sure!

Anonymous The Gray Man January 31, 2013 5:06 PM

This is a comment from the "Troll Report" post on Scalzi's site, it cracked me up:

John: Excellent post, and a wise way to deal with the RSHD. I’ve actually been worried that my own words elsewhere criticizing the RSHD might also be feeding his trollish behavior. It’s a hard situation–RSHD is flinging poo all over SFWA through his candidacy for office, and I care deeply about SFWA. I realize his candidacy is merely an attention-seeking ploy, so I keep telling myself to ignore him. But then I think, What if he wins b/c people aren’t aware of his RSHD behavior? But then, every time he opens his maw RSHD BS flows forth, so people already know what he is. Which means I can ignore him. But …

Aargh. This is why trolls drive me crazy. But your response is perfect and a good model for dealing with all the RSHDs out there.

Anonymous VD January 31, 2013 5:07 PM

So what caused the relationship to deteriorate?

No clue. He seemed to lurch distinctly to the left after returning from his quasi-hiatus; the Game stuff appears to be particularly offensive to him. This would make sense; gammas tend to hate the hierarchy in general and alphas in particular. I'm not an alpha, but as I've pointed out, sigmas are often mistaken for them.

I've been wondering, publicly the rabbit doesn't engage you, but on those forums that we don't have access to does he do the same?

Nope. A few of his readers take a half-hearted stab at it. They come here to mine for quotes that will give their fellow ideologues the vapors. Happy to oblige.

Furthermore, I'm not a conservative, so why would I want to spread the conservative message?

Good points, all. The 500 was hanging on pegs in his living room and, of course, the discussion focused on guns especially high-powered hand guns. He offered to let me fire a few rounds. Since he has 80+ various pieces in his collection, I'm sure he has some other calibers in that category to enjoy later on. He's a great guy and when I offer to chip in for some rounds or to clean weapons, he just grins and says, "Nah, it's my pleasure.".

He uses the 500 to send possums and skunks that happen to wander into his garden or coops to rodent heaven.

Oh I'm not suggesting you change what you want to write about. But you made mention that Scalzi veered to the Left and how it didn't sit well with you, and thus, I thought you were Right leaning, often described as conservative. Of course there doesn't have to be a point, other to amuse yourself, although I tend to be goal directed and like measurable results. I also did think you were an outspoken Christian, although maybe I have misunderstood. And as amusing as it may be, McRapey seems a little extreme and could get you in trouble with McDonalds.

Teachers and parents gave me that advice, too. I followed it until the bullies started getting physical. At that point, I started giving the bullies applied physics lessons in why a book massing five kilos wins over a fist weighing less than one. After a few weeks of instruction, the bullies stopped picking on me.

The best part is that it gave me yet another excuse to read big, thick books.

Naturally, being an alpha male as per Roissy's definition, I felt a little uncomfortable reading this strange woman's fantasies about murdering and dismembering me. Seeing as some of my recent comments at John's blog, none of which involved violence, had been removed by John himself, I was a little surprised that Ms Resnick's comments were deemed acceptable and asked for clarification.

That’s fascinating, Laura. It appears your female daydreams about the cannibalistic murder of alpha males are perfectly acceptable to the SFWA President here. Are male daydreams about raping “alpha females” equally acceptable to you, John? Or do we have to kill them first? I suppose it’s technically not rape if they’re dead. I don’t know about the cannibalism, though, and you know, Laura is really making me uncomfortable here….

I guess I'm just not getting why so much bandwidth devoted to him, when there are issues like following a Christ-like life, housing the poor, and doing other bible commanded stuff that could make an impact in spreading the conservative message.

I remember this one time, in high school, I started talking about an idea I had for a book to a friend of mine.

She suddenly stiffened, and then proceeded to berate me for "wasting time on silly stories" when there were food drives to be driven, Habitats for Humanity to build, volunteer jobs to be volunteered, and prayers to be prayed. How could I tempt ANYONE to spend the precious and limited time God had given them reading "dumb stupid stories" when there were great and important things to do?

Thirty seconds later, I left her alone to do the great and important tasks laid before her. In the end, everyone else did, too.

...I'm not sure what my point is, exactly. Maybe it's that people ignore you if you have no sense of fun.

Anonymous VD January 31, 2013 6:01 PM

But you made mention that Scalzi veered to the Left and how it didn't sit well with you, and thus, I thought you were Right leaning, often described as conservative.

I am Right-leaning. I am not conservative. I am a radical Christian libertarian. Also, I have no problem with Scalzi's veer to the left, the problem was that he began attacking me and the entire readership here. And it has been my privilege and pleasure to return the favor.

If he thinks he doesn't like what I write, he's really not going to enjoy the feel of Roissy's lash.

Daniel, playing the rabbit? Is that like playing the skin flute? As I've said before, I think the whole wolf/rabbit metaphor is too much of an oversimplification to produce anything of much power. It certainly isn't something that would get traction with the people who I know that are libertarian/conservative/Right.

Anonymous Todd January 31, 2013 6:36 PM

Signe, to me, being Christian and spreading the conservative message are not necessarily something that should or need to go together. Being Christian might be following biblical commandments, aspiring to being Christ-like, and being a witness if someone asks you about an experience. It might also be choosing to lead a conservative group based on your experiences as a Christian, through prayer or other means.

Part of the problem is that we need a common definition of Christian and conservative to have a coherent conversation. I've seen both terms used in vastly different ways.

Anonymous Todd January 31, 2013 6:38 PM

Daniel, I don't believe I have a responsibility to rebuke, no. Nor do I believe that I have great power. Some days, a bit, other days, not so much.

Katzenjammer kids. This one is not satire (at least not mine. It really is over there):

John, thanks for this post–I don’t need it anymore, but once upon a time I’d have found it both reassuring and instructive, and I think that there are probably still people out there who do/will. I came late to the internet–well, late for the SF and Fantasy community, anyway–and when I first started following a blog I had no idea what a “troll” was, let alone what “Don’t feed the troll” meant. My only context for “troll” as an insult was an old joke (“Troll = someone who lives in Lower Michigan”) and that obviously wasn’t relevant. I honestly didn’t know how I should respond to trollish posts, or even how to identify them as trollish. That that first blog I happened upon was well-moderated helped a great deal; having the moderator occasionally stop and explain things for the sake of innocent newcomers helped even more. So, though I know you aren’t worried about “validating the trolls by paying attention to them,” thanks again. Just FYI.

The best bit? The author is posts as Mary Frances. 1:25 pm.

Either I ought to be bowing to the satire of a master, or the high priestess of rabbitonia. Either way, much gratitude.

http://www.theatlantic.com/sexes/archive/2013/01/how-men-can-help-women-succeed-in-the-military/272746/

"As the mother of two sons, I often think about our mantra over the past three decades of telling girls and women that they can do anything a man can do and still do all the things that women have traditionally done. It sounds a little different to tell boys and men that they can do anything a woman can do and still do the things men have traditionally done. Why? We all know the answer; male is the norm to which we aspire; it is women who must become equal to men, not men equal to women, in so many parts of our society...But that has to change. Do the math. Women cannot occupy 50 percent (or even close) of the positions men have traditionally occupied in finance, business, politics, or the military unless the men who are currently in those positions have other alternatives. And men won't take those other alternatives unless they feel accepted, welcomed, and valued—not as women-surrogates, but as men."

"Soga, I am curious, do you consider Catholics doing the work of the gospel? The reason I ask is because most Mexicans and South Americans I have met are Catholic, and would fit into this rabbit meme being used."

That's a really strange question. To do the work of the gospel is to make disciples of every nation, every tongue, every tribe. You can't force people to genuinely believe in Jesus Christ as Lord (well... actually, maybe this is possible, but I wouldn't advise it), but you can convert them to a culture which opens the road to believe this.

The hard truth of Christianity is a truth that must be CONFRONTED. Rabbit culture is built around the idea that you bury your head in the sand and avoid the hard truths as much as possible. They build concrete walls of political correctness, and if even a bit of the hard truth seeps through the concrete walls, they'll go into hyperventilating overdrive to seal whatever holes they can find in their wall. JUST AS LONG AS THEY DON'T HAVE TO CONFRONT THE TRUTH.

If you pray, please pray for him and for the wife and children left behind in American while he went to help with an orphanage. I pray that the Lord would free him, provide for his family and that the power of the Lord would shake the prison and that those there would accept His salvation.

Thanks for posting that...I have been following this case too - I sincerely encourage all Christians reading this blog to pray for him too...it is too easy to forget the persecuted Church out here in the (relative) safety of the west, retardedly PC as it may be.

I wish just one time someone (any damn one) Define exactly what an Alpha Male is, and forget the dog analogies. Every supposed Alpha male I ever read just thought he was the boss. They never are, they are so damn insecure about their family life (wife) they pretend and try to beat up on other men because in reality they are not in charge in their family life. The beta is not insecure in family life he may back down in a crowd of men with puffed up necks, but when the shit hits the fan at home he is the real Alpha.

The Alpha pretends to not care about the women, and the women sense this and love the Alpha, because they really are the dumbest boys on the block that act bad.

Nice guys wonder why the girls like the bad guys? The simple answer is they can control them to beat up other guys. All the time the Alpha thinks he is tough, he really is the courier of the tyranny of the petticoat. He then thinks he is an alpha because he beat another man up thinking all the time that it was his Idea.

Such a man is a fool and lies to himself.

Sexual polarity — the primal force that adheres the cosmic cock to the celestial snatch — is the truth of truths that belies every feminist assertion ever made in the history of that insipid, leprotic ideology.

The problem here, of course is that we are reading gibberish. Every feminist assertion is belied by the absurdity of "sexual polarity". There was a time and place where feminists asserted they could quite handily own and control property. and it turned out they could. There was a time and place where they asserted they deserved the vote and would wield it with care. And they did. There was a time when women asserted that they ought to make the same as a man for the same job and same experiencing. And upon being granted that equality, they handled it fine.

No, what we have here is pure gibberish. And anyone who thinks otherwise is voluntarily ridding their minds of the truth. For what purpose we can only imagine but, as it often is in cases like this, it's to make them feel better about themselves.

VD makes a fundamental error in asserting that the results of the study is an absolute. The study must be replicated to verify the hypothesis. The authors also note that men who refuse to help around the house could increase conflict in their marriage, resulting in decreasing marital satisfaction and ultimately less sex. Past research has found repeatedly that women's marital satisfaction is linked to men's participation in overall household labor, which encompasses tasks traditionally done by both sexes. Somehow, this important piece of information was left out by VD.

"It’s a truth woven into the fabric of our origin atoms, the glue that binds our helical commandments and reaches outward to breathe life into the monolith of our souls."

Assumption, not truth. The conclusion rests upon the belief that policies of inequality are justified according to evolutionary principles espoused by Social Darwinism. Folks, I introduce you to the naturalistic fallacy.

Soga, thanks for making the generalization that women cannot handle their own financial affairs. While evidence does indicate more women than men are in debt, men are more prone to not pay off their debt. Seems that each gender has their own set of problems.

A friend of mine Scalzied himself pretty bad last year when he dumped a pot of boiling water into his lap.

This afternoon I went to a friends house and fired five rounds through a S&W 500. WHOA! Didn't do well on the target, but the power of that piece is staggering. I would have liked to fire off more, but ammo for it was low and he was good enough to let me enjoy the kick. Fun times.

Daddynichol, living nearby I really want to go check out the S & W .500 John Ross Special Edition, just for grins. Might be worth taking the C&C training from him.

I knew there was something I liked about Markku.

I too am a proud emacs user of 27 years. Although I did take a brief 7-year vim hiatus until I got back into lisp and figured out how to avoid RSI from the C-x key sequences.

Sad thing is, I'm more vi-fluent than my vi-using coworkers. It's really funny when they come up to "the emacs guy" to ask "Ridip, how do you do _____ in vim?"

I let em down easy.

I'm also trying to sprinkle more I's in my posts. I've decided if I'm going to be a gibbering fellow monkey, I must become a more narcissistic raciss, sexisss, homophobisss, dibashit.

And the problems of women far outweigh the problems of men where political and financial realities are concerned. What, exactly, is your point? You seem to be trying to rebut my case by pointing out that men can be irresponsible too. What you fail to address, however, is that men tend to vary extremely, whereas women tend to fall within average norms. In other words, individual men tend to have bigger influences on aggregate statistics, whereas women tend to deviate less from the aggregate statistics for their sex.

This is precisely the main reason many here argue women should not be permitted to vote. Based on how females on average and historically behave and vote, we conclude that "the Sisterhood" is vastly inept in matters that ought to be treated in a rational manner - politics, for one.

Obviously, anthropology courses need to be banned at U. Georgia, with the students being registered by their respective financial loan agencies as "lethal weapons of unmitigated mass genocidal destruction" with local law enforcement. Depending on what country the student hails from and their capacity for multiple STDs, he/she may additionally qualify as an assault weapon.

There was a time and place where feminists asserted they could quite handily own and control property. and it turned out they could.

So when was there a time where women were not allowed to control property? It think it's time once again to to acknowledge notable women in American history.

Blogger IM2L844 February 01, 2013 12:48 AM

No, what we have here is pure gibberish. And anyone who thinks otherwise is voluntarily ridding their minds of the truth. For what purpose we can only imagine but, as it often is in cases like this, it's to make them feel better about themselves.

Despite this strategy never working out well for him, Tad once again enters the mosh pit doing the bunny hop. Maybe, this time things will be different.

Speaking of women and bad finances, here's some classic morgage commercials from circa 1997-2005. I remember they played them 24/7 on television. This is back when doing financial things on that "internet" was just starting to take off, and also before the housing bubble burst in 2008.

ditech.com commercial

Actor Ron Michaelson: "Lost another loan to ditech!"
"Se Habla Espanol" at the end.

lendingtree.com commercial

"How do I do it? I'm in debt up to my eyeballs. I can barely pay my finance charges."
"Where you can have banks compete over you, regardless of your credit history."
"When banks compete, you win, at lendingtree.com."

I love these vintage commercials. If you're an economist you can find so many gems. They are basically a window back into another time. A simpler America. Step back with me, and weep for the future.

I've lurked here for a while, and while I don't entirely get VD's trolling, I do recognize a pattern.

Every once in a while VD picks some unsuspecting target from the interwebs and proceeds to mock them in his own arrogantly obtuse way. I don't get it, but I admit it can be funny.

There have been a few targets - Amanda Marcotte, PZ Myers, Scott Bakker, and of course John Scalzi come to mind. But whoever it is, s/he always resorts to the "he's so obsessed with me" line, not realizing how transparently false that is to those who have been here for more than one target in whom VD has lost interest.

Anonymous Anonymous February 01, 2013 2:33 AM

It's been years since I've been here, can't remember my login. Probably won't remember me but I'm Art's daughter, Cathy. Just trolling, really, and using Anonymous so I'm somewhat safe from responses. Well, maybe not after that last statement.

What part of the Amusement Imperative do you not understand? And do you really not see the pattern of how it always - always - starts? You left out World O' Crap and Dark Window, although Dark Window ended on a positive note.

But whoever it is, s/he always resorts to the "he's so obsessed with me" line, not realizing how transparently false that is to those who have been here for more than one target in whom VD has lost interest.

Is this true, Vox? Searching both your blogs for the name "Laura Resnick" only yields this one blog post and its comments.

Now, you and I would certainly agree that a gentleman in face-to-face conversation with a lady could wittily insult her and remain a gentleman (as per Lord Beaverbrook).

And you and I would certainly agree that an Alpha need not always be a gentleman (as per Gone with the Wind).

But to insult a woman who has never heard of you? In public? And to remove the evidence after she finds out, without leaving any trace of an apology? That is reprehensible!
