Rubio will kill the Republican Party
If, that is, he manages to convert enough of the rank-and-file to buy into the Bush strategy based on the conservative Latino voter and support his pro-immigration policies. A veteran GOP operative explains why Marco Rubio is not the Great Brown Hope for the Republican Party:
Which, in this case, happens to be the entire nation.
Rubio isn't going to save the Republican Party. He is much more likely to finish it off for good with the help of Barack Obama.
“Let me tell you something. The Hispanic voters in Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico don’t give a damn about Marco Rubio, the Tea Party Cuban-American from Florida. You know what? We won the Cuban vote! And it’s because younger Cubans are behaving differently than their parents. It’s probably my favorite stat of the whole campaign. So this notion that Marco Rubio is going to heal their problems — it’s not even sophomoric; it’s juvenile! And by the way: the bigger problem they’ve got with Latinos isn’t immigration. It’s their economic policies and health care. The group that supported the president’s health care bill the most? Latinos.”However, it is absolutely absurd to think that it is only the GOP's economic policies that are the primary problem, although they are not popular. Immigration is destroying it because the USA has been invaded by millions of people who vote to the left side of the political spectrum. The Republican Party isn't competitive in Detroit or Los Angeles, and it isn't going to be competitive anywhere that follows the demographic lead of those two cities.
Which, in this case, happens to be the entire nation.
Rubio isn't going to save the Republican Party. He is much more likely to finish it off for good with the help of Barack Obama.

Latinos in NM live by the Padron system. When the Spaniards came 500 yrs ago, they even placed the natives on "welfare" at that time. These people, in general but with some exceptions, live on the state and always have. The immigrants, illegal and legal, from all "hispanic" areas live by the Padron. It is their culture.
They will support a government that cares for them. Since many never really knew the freedoms those of us who are older knew, they don't miss what has been taken Hell, if they get a single new freedom, it's more than they had.
As it has been said in the past ... they come from tyrannical socialist/communist/Marxist despotic countries and they bring the seeds of destruction with them.
The Republican Party leadership is devoid of logic ... acquiesce enough and you are them ... you cannot defend the foundations of a great country by playing "Me/Us too!".
In Colorado, something interesting happened. State Law says if you vote you must have an ID.
Denver, and possibly other surrounding communities, declared "Home Rule" and said "our citizens" don't need IDs to vote regardless of State Law.
This has not been successfully challenged. I haven't read the State Law, may be it permits this ... but you cannot afford to have a state within a state ... especially in the capital city.
This being said, it is interesting as "Home Rule" has been allowed to stand meaning communities like Colorado Springs can say "Home Rule" and implement their own law. I suspect that such a tactic only applies for liberal mindsets and not libertarian or conservative ones.

After I posted my comment about Colorado, Denver in particular, I thought it wise to look for myself (always best to look before posting comments) ... the interpretation of the Colorado Constitution, Article XX, Section 6 is the foundation for this argument ... http://www.courts.state.co.us/Media/Opinion_Docs/03cv3809order.pdf
The important question is, which goes first? The US or the GOP?

The important question is, which goes first? The US or the GOP?
I think a more important question is: what will take its place?
I think you meant to say "Rubio attempts to perform CPR on the Republican Party." I don't think you can kill something that is already dead.
Is it just me? Does anyone else believe that the primary reason for immigration policies is too ensure population expansion to keep property values high?
Rubio is clearly being paraded around as the new face of the Republican party by their Committee for Dog and Pony Shows as a matter of expedience. I haven't looked into his record, but my first impressions of him are that he is your typical political opportunist. It's difficult to gauge how the idiotic public will ultimately respond to him.
A lot of stuff can happen between now and the next presidential election that could either hurt or help his chances. I don't think the administration can hold off the disastrous cascade of economic effects resulting from Obamacare much beyond the summer of 2015, but I'm no economist so my layman's impression could be a complete wash.
In any event, I thinks it too early to say. I timorously expect to see a Clinton vs. Rubio contest, but who knows?
The Repub party is already dead. Im pretty sure we'll never see a republican president again, simply based on demographics. Unless some sort of 'event' happens...
The only good thing about our current president is that he is very lazy. Latino's will continue to pour into the country over the next 4 yrs...i expect their population will increase 25% from immigration alone by the next election.
It is a nonsensical strategy. Even if Latinos are morally conservative, which is debatable, the Republicans are certainly not. Why would they vote Republican?
Horses. Barn.
It is clearly an INVASION.
When the Mexican government puts together information regarding crossing the border and where to go and who to see, even in CD/DVD form, it is an invasion.

RUBIO WILL KILL THE REPUBLICAN PARTY
Some parties NEED killin'
To put a finer point on it...
"The vote for the Obama/Biden ticket was also a strong rejection of the policies advocated by the Romney/Ryan ticket, according to Latinos who have been tracking voter sentiment. On immigration, says Barreto, “Republicans’ rhetoric early in the primary, with their talks of electric fences* and deportation, set them up for disaster.” On health care policy, 66 percent of Latinos believe in the government’s role in ensuring health care access, “yet Governor Romney repeatedly said he would repeal Obamacare on Day 1, even though 61 percent of Latinos want to keep Obamacare,”"
"Many Latinos we polled were nervous over the Ryan budget" Link
* Apart from a brief mention by Herman Cain, I'm not aware of any widespread support in the GOP for an electrified fence, but it really doesn't matter. Perception is everything people.
With the Republican wing of the Democrat Party out of the way, an actual opposition party might form. That would be dangerous for the ruling Party.
You are correct zen0 ... but I think it goes a little further than that ... Rubio is not a naturally born citizen.
Putting Rubio up as a Presidential candidate represents a 'little death' for the United States Constitution and consequently for the country as a whole.
http://www.wnd.com/2012/01/farah-on-fox-tv-rubio-not-natural-born-citizen/
Plouffe is a veteran DNC operative, the one who help get Obama elected twice. But the point remains as true.
Governor Romney repeatedly said he would repeal Obamacare on Day 1, even though 61 percent of Latinos want to keep Obamacare
That certainly shows that 61% of Latinos are so incredibly stupid that they are nothing more than cheap fodder for any political machine willing to use them. After all, Romney expressly stated his desire to replace Obamacare with Romneycare. Free health care for Latinos either way. Welcome to El Norte: you can have any political party you want as long as it's leftist.
Most conservatives and even Tea Partiers think in terms of Red and Blue. Whenever you hear analysis about the situation, it is based on what Red team needs to do to adjust to the new America. It's a surrender strategy. There already is no option left except to take non-electoral measures, such as secession, and use them as bargaining chips to win a non-democratic victory within the U.S., or act on the threat and pursue self-determination.
Listening to Rock Sugar takes away all my economic/immigration blues...next is shooting some guns..followed by eating some red meat and drinking bourbon. Do the same ilk...chill out and watch meteors hit russia...enjoy the drama of a pope standing down..laugh at feminist...peace out bros
61 percent of Latinos want to keep Obamacare because they are too f-ing stupid to see that the state is destroying the healthcare system they are accustomed to.
This is also why mass immigration is evil and without reeducation camps for immigrants, you can't maintain a free and independent society when you import a bunch of stupid socialist immigrants.
Rubio is useless. Conservatives are the RINOs. That is the sorry truth of the matter.
Also, watch for Dr. Benjamin Carson who spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast on Feb. 7.
Hannity and others are promoting Dr. Carson in hopes he'll run for office. Here is the link to the
speech he gave at the prayer breakfast: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFb6NU1giRA
Personally, I think he sounds like he listens to Rush too much.
I did enjoy the movie "Gifted Hands" which tells of his life growing up in poverty and becoming a world renowned neurosurgeon.
61 percent of Latinos want to keep Obamacare because they are too f-ing stupid to see that the state and big business are in league to suck the life out of the system they are accustomed to.
There, fixed that for you.
Of course, the fact is, that most of the players are too stupid to realize that you you can only push the system so far and those at the top think they are prepared for the big collapse.
Putting Rubio up as a Presidential candidate represents a 'little death' for the United States Constitution and consequently for the country as a whole.
The liberals welcome that fight and the changing demographics suggest they could win it. The inexorable slide toward the Global Plantation will not be stopped.
Ive been saying for years that presidential elections are now dead for republicans no matter what..be it rubio or christ himself. Between union groups, welfare recipients, women, and immigrants- specifically 20-30 million illegals whos children r legal through birthright citizenship and whom more and more are eligible to vote every 4 years; its a done deal. Amnesty will just be the nail in the coffin to expedite their complete control of congress until our ultimate and inevitable collapse. I love vox, and agree with most of what he says, but my eyes more then rolled mutiple times when he predicted Romney would win. Our country is a multicutural cesspool where morons, the lazy, and the ignorant now dictate these elections. Give the dems credit for buying off enough voting groups and pandering to the bottom feeding losers enough to get themoff the couch for a day and vote for them in the name of anti-racism!!!
The Republican party deserves to die if they choose the Hispanics over the libertarians.
Our country is a multicutural cesspool where morons, the lazy, and the ignorant now dictate these elections.
In a sense, but the herd has assumed the training of their shepherds well. A Rubio v Anybody is a win/win for the leftist PTB. I fully expect the media to be uncharacteristically supportive of Rubio in the long haul.
"...but I'm no economist so my layman's impression could be a complete wash."
Your impression is as good as any economist's.
A dart thrown at a newspaper is as good as any economist.
In a serious moment:
Thoughts on the viability of a state-specific party, unaffiliated with one of the big-name parties? Forget the presidency; the fed-gov is a joke. This would be for the purpose of electing state legislators, governors, and (mayyyyybe) a Congressman or two.
Snappy name is a given.
There are too many stupid people. There are just too many stupid people.
Just like a pervert with promises of candy can lure a naive child into his automobile, the political psychopath knows the promise of “free stuff” is the path to power. He promises heaven and will deliver hell.
The funniest part is where a "veteran GOP operative" explains something as if he knew his ass from a hole in the ground.
Thanks, The Other Skeptic... I concur
The empty promises of the HMO era have only led to the hyper-HMO insurance and hosptial companies with jacked up prices and jack booted billing specialists.
After decades in the fight, I still tire of those Rockefeller Republicans (and Ripon Society, Chamber of Commerce whores) that say we all need to cave so the Mexicans will vote Republican. Pleeeeze! Only half of the Hispanic Americans are in favor of amnesty....check the polls...the other half just want to bring their family members first, then raise the drawbridge. The illegals are not eligible to vote in any case. (Wink.Wink.)
The Cubans are not crazy about the Puerto Ricans and neither have any use for Mexicans in the USA. (Especially the AmerIndians we get here, that are nearly all of the illegal aliens.) Hispanic is not a monolithic block vote and Spanish is not a single language and there is no LEADER of all the different Hispanic groups. The recent arrivals to this country are well-aware of the shithole they left behind and they are not crazy enough to want it to be the same way in the USA. Yes, they do not look up to the illegal aliens as model citizens.
If you have watched any Mexican television, you notice that Mexicans come in ALL colors and races, including white, red, yellow, black, and brown. (Yes, some of the finest blonde haired, blue eyed honeys live in Mexico.) Corona is not Mexican beer it is the same GERMAN lager beer we have here. Germans went to Mexico and brewed it, just like other Germans came to the USA and made Coors and Bush and Schlitz.
No, Rubio will tear the GOP to pieces, just like the other RINOs.
As long as I don't have to listen to Rock Sugar, it sounds like a fairly good plan, but doesn't T&A related activities belong somwhere on the list of officially sanctioned Ilkish interests?
There already is no option left except to take non-electoral measures, such as secession, and use them as bargaining chips to win a non-democratic victory within the U.S., or act on the threat and pursue self-determination.-Roundtime
As if there were no politicians involved in the last secession. Distasteful as it is, I don't see how electoral politics can be avoided-going directly to armed insurrection would be suicidal.
Using initiative and referendum to switch to PR with a low threshold (the same system used in Weimar Germany and in Israel for the whole of its existence) at the local level is a way for anti-Regime forces to get a foot in the door. We have seen this proven across Europe for the last two decades. You can even get Christian Zionists to go for it based on the fact that it is thoroughly Kosher approved -just like strict immigration enforcement.
Roundtine...."There already is no option left except to take non-electoral measures, such as secession, and use them as bargaining chips to win a non-democratic victory within the U.S., or act on the threat and pursue self-determination."
Thank you, Roundtine. I have been saying this for years. Americans are a peace-loving people and they believe they can fix things simply by voting. They believe that there are always peaceful alternatives and if we all stay calm and not overreact, cooler heads will prevail and we will win most of our losses back in the compromise solutions.
We are, I am very sorry to say, well past the point where there are any peaceful solutions remaining. From this moment forward, talk is just that and NOBODY is going to keep any bargain they make and ALL of the filthy compromises we have already made in the past have only created an obligation for us...and nobody else. We have kept our end of the deal, over and over, and the other side have laughed at our Anglo-Saxon decency.
It IS time to take off the gloves. There are no peaceful solutions. The enemy is correct...we WILL lose our country to demographic change.....IF WE DO NOTHING! They are absolutely correct. But doing nothing is not part of my Scot-Irish ethnic group. Let the games begin. Make it secession if you like or we can endeavor to keep ALL of the United States. Either way, we will walk in blood to keep this land and this is made easier by the fact that we have no place to run.
Nobody takes anything seriously in this country until it has blood on it.
I think a more important question is: what will take its place?
I'm hoping for the merger of the Ds and Rs into the "Bipartisan Party".

Yeah, but the Mexican consulate in Denver gives out ID cards like a Pez dispenser...
When the last Republican governor was in office in Colorado, it was discovered that he had authorized a plan that resulted in the state government printing up brochures that showed illegals immigrants how to game the system.
In some circles a Great Brown Hope just means you need more fiber in your diet.
I'm hoping for the merger of the Ds and Rs into the "Bipartisan Party".
Would that be a Bipartisan Rape the Citizens Party? I am sure that McRapey would on board with that.
It is worthwhile reading Population Dynamics and Internal Warfare by Peter Turchin to see where this is all going.
Since the state is broke, things should start getting interesting around now.
As long as I don't have to listen to Rock Sugar, it sounds like a fairly good plan, but doesn't T&A related activities belong somwhere on the list of officially sanctioned Ilkish interests?
Per Josh's suggestion, I have been staring at pics of Lucy Pinder's Ts and Jessica Alba's A hoping for a miracle. Sure is easier on my retinas than staring at the sun like the folks in 1917 Fatima. Better still....when I close my eyes, I can still see them .... and they seem to move up and down ( jiggle).
There. T and A and miracles. Happy, now?
More from Peter Turchin, touching on the relationship between immigration and the well being of the common people
This connection between the oversupply of labour and plummeting living standards for the poor is one of the more robust generalisations in history. Consider the case of medieval England. The population of England doubled between 1150 and 1300. There was little possibility of overseas emigration, so the ‘surplus’ peasants flocked to the cities, causing the population of London to balloon from 20,000 to 80,000. Too many hungry mouths and too many idle hands resulted in a fourfold increase in food prices and a halving of real wages. Then, when a series of horrible epidemics, starting with the Black Death of 1348, carried away more than half of the population, the same dynamic ran in reverse. The catastrophe, paradoxically, introduced a Golden Age for common people. Real wages tripled and living standards went up, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Common people relied less on bread, gorging themselves instead on meat, fish, and dairy products.
Is it too much to hope that the totally resistant strains of TB and the new SARS-like virus in London strike preferentially at the elites?
He is much more likely to finish it off for good with the help of Barack Obama.
But Obama doesn't even want the job!
It is interesting that Turchin predicts 2020 as the time when various trends suggest that the US is in danger of renewed internal violence.
I guess we now have three different predictions: 2015, 2020 and 2030.
> Thoughts on the viability of a state-specific party...
They already exist, but the major parties make it almost impossible for them to be effective forces for change.
> Is it too much to hope that the totally resistant strains of TB and the new SARS-like virus in London strike preferentially at the elites?
TB and SARS? Yes, that's too much to hope for. Now, some esoteric (possibly even bio-engineered) STD? That would be a distinct possibility.
How can you kill something that is already dead?
It should be called the Zombie Party.
Instapundit's take on the preferential media treatment of DEM Hispanics vs GOP Hispanderers
All of the post-election hurr durr is pretty much the negotation of the surrender of Social Conservatives.
Problem is that, well, without it, Republicans have what? Romneycare? LOL.
Without socons, there's absolutely no difference between the two big parties of the US. So the Republicans are unnecesary. All the Hispanderers are just preparing to jump ship.
Personally, I simply can't give a damn about socons because fuck them for telling men to suck it up and getting married/buttraped on the divorce court, but is fairly obvious what's happening.
Evolution does not stop at the neck. Racial identification is most often the precursor to cultural identification.
It's now time for civil disobedience, nullification, and then secession. First step: form a parallel government.
You don't need to round up all these millions of people and move them. You only have to make them want to leave.
So how do you do this?
1) Create the American Foreign Legion.
2) Anyone found in america illegally is conscripted into the Legion.
3) Serve 5 years in the Legion... gain citizenship.
4) Announce that the Legion will be serving in Afghanistan and Iraq
5) Announce a goal of 1 million men in the Legion.
6) Call the Plan "Compassionate Amnesty".
7) label anyone who opposes the plan racist.
understand that none of this ever has to pass. As soon as the bills are introduced... the illegals will disappear. Over night.
No concentration camps... and you even get to keep your beloved welfare state.
Vox,
Evangelicalism is growing very quickly in Latin America and among American hispanics and evangelicals are more conservative in their politics than Catholics.
See:
http://questionevolution.blogspot.com/2012/07/rise-of-biblical-creationism-in-mexico.html
http://questionevolution.blogspot.com/2012/07/creationism-is-exploding-in-up-and.html
In addition, efforts are being made to translate more creationist material into Spanish. See: http://questionevolution.blogspot.com/2012/09/top-10-languages-for-question-evolution.html
If there is an answer to creeping socialism due to Hispanic immigrants, the solution is not in political activism, but in changing men's hearts through the gospel of Jesus Christ. In short, an indirect yet more powerful approach.
@15 questions for evolutionists
LOL you are funny. Evangelicals are just your typical "I drank/fucked/partied a lot on my 20's and now I'm on my 30's/near the wall and need to get married ASAP" megachurch hypocrites.
How's Churchianity has worked so far?
@Nate
1) Create the American Foreign Legion.
2) Anyone found in america illegally is conscripted into the Legion.
AKA: Beau Geste Workers Path to Citizenship
precisely
look at all the benefits. if our politicians are hell bent that they need to send folks to die in afghanistan... may as well send a bunch of illegals.
If the bishops in the usa stopped being so corrupt, stupid, and greedy, maybe they could preach credibly. They also need to say something other than hungry? Get an ebt cardmfrom obama? Homeless, get section 8 from obama. Sick, obamacare (but don't make us paynfor contraception).
Yet the Aztecs stopped their human sacrifice only after the appearance of the woman who crushes the stone serpent's head. The language didn't translate but it sounded like the spanish "wolf river". Guadaloupe.
Miracles still happen. However killing the elephant idol might prove harder than quetzicoatyl.
I love those European-Hispanics. "Ruby-oh? That's a white guy, right?"
He has about as much Amerindian blood as a vampire blood bank after the daywalker Blade gets done destroying it.
Someone posted about Wesley Snipes on another thread. That's sad he is in jail for tax evasion that was not even really his fault, when these Illegals continue to rape the taxpayer like Sandusky at a Save the Children meeting. "I am the winningest coach for the locker room touchdown!"
tz, get over the whole Catholicisim thing. They can't preach because they don't know the word. Homilies, stories and calls to support socialized medecine (except for the parts they don't like) I went to a local life rally against the Obamacare contraception and abortion mandates and the Catholic priests that spoke made it clear that they support Obamacare, except for a few parts.
Strong preaching requires knowledge and acceptance of the word. Anything else is public speaking and if being done by a Catholic Bishop or a liberal protestant anything probably a waste of time.
Rubio isn't as bad as VD describes. He's not as bad as Newt or Boehner or Christy. I'm not sure if he is as good as Rand Paul, as they are close... but that's not saying much.
Immigration is not a make-or-break issue with the country by a long shot.
" They can't preach because they don't know the word. "
they don't know the word.
Wow.
That's... spectacularly incorrect.
Rubio isn't as bad as VD describes. He's not as bad as Newt or Boehner or Christy.
Yeah, he's not nearly as bad as functional alcoholic who cries in public.
Boehner: Sniffle... bill number... 7-dash-4... OH WHY???? WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN???
//cries
Adden-dumbbb number... Sniffle... MY FATHER wanted me to be a football player!
//cries
We're in so much trouble.
Or Jeb Bush. Or Huckabee. Or Palin.
In fact I'm guessing with the current line-up the GOP is already a zombie.
> look at all the benefits. if our politicians are hell bent that they need to send folks to die in afghanistan... may as well send a bunch of illegals.
Perhaps equally important, who cares if they desert at that point.
WHY?????? WHY RUBIO???? Dat bisssch-tits with a fake tan! I should be up there instead for prezzdent!
// Drinks whiskey
Glug glug glug glug.
SHUT-UP-SHUT-UP Turn music back pppon!!!
The Zombie Party... it's the Zombie Party.
Isn't there a song called "Zombie'? If so, it should be their theme song.
As I said on my own blog, demographics have reached tipping point and the Republicans will never be elected again...leaving G.W. Bush as the Republican legacy...
"Isn't there a song called "Zombie'?"

"...leaving G.W. Bush as the Republican legacy..."
Ouch.
@Nate,
Almost a perfect plan...but step 7 should be step 1. As in:
"I got here a perfect plan for all these poor undocumented Americans-to-be, and the first thing I wanna say is you're a racist if you're against it."
Never wait for the other guy to hit first.
You can't kill that which is already dead.
Off-Topic:
Lawrence Auster of View From the Right is stricken with cancer that is unfortunately now metastasizing. Although he has never suffered fools lightly, he has been a consistently clear voice of reason and civility for traditional conservatism, and he will be sorely missed.
Regardless of your views, I humbly urge that you include him in your prayers.
But... But.. But, Jeb speaks Spanish! Rubio/Bush and they can campaign in Spanish together across the land!

Post American times dictate futility and oppression. Let the GOP run Rubio or grab from the pool of over 55'ers - they cannot win anymore. The GOP was throwing elections and compromising for years why would it change now? Rubio isn't a bad guy, just a guy vetted for the changing demographics of an America that not many Americans can recognize - or even care to invest anymore time, money or energy in listening to the absurdity that has become Americana current events, politics or the myopic blown out of proportion media circus.
Dept.of Homeland Security loves this kind of talk.
Yes, DHS loves the talk, but it is DHS that will walk the walk. The government is the one most likely to overstep into violence and lose credibility. Every peaceful movement can use a credible threat, either as a negotiation point or as bait.
There are plenty of non-violent options for advancing liberty, but people need to give up on the ballot box as anything but an expression of popular will. Once people realize voting doesn't work, or even just entertain the idea, they will imagine other ways to achieve liberty without needing violence. Once there is a widespread secession movement, full secession may not be needed, but without a secession movement or something similar (tax protests, massive non-violent protests that do not end) nothing will be achieved.
The issue today is that there is no liberty agenda because people stuck in the box think only in terms of what is possible given the existing political system. The conservative agenda is a laundry list of defensive actions against liberal assaults. There is no conservative offensive because none is possible in this environment. Even when I hear people talk of secession, they usually say things like we wouldn't have gay marriage, wouldn't need to defend 2nd Amendment rights. That's great, but there is no positive agenda because none is possible. And it doesn't have to be a government agenda, it could be that all charity is returned to the churches and communities will be rebuilt from the ground up. Pure nonsense talk today, yet completely possible if people decide they want to live in that world and take the steps necessary to achieve it.
Once there is a widespread secession movement, full secession may not be needed, but without a secession movement or something similar (tax protests, massive non-violent protests that do not end) nothing will be achieved.
Apparently you think you can topple the system with tax protests. Remember that Federal tax protesters go tp prison and local tax protesters lose their homes.
The GOP is the problem and began the problems. It was the original anti liberty, anti White, pro immigration, big government, special favors for big business political party
@ David of One... what the NYT fails to mention is that everyone McCarthy accused of being a communist, was a communist. The KGB records opened after the fall of the Soviet Union proved that. If Cruz has facts to back up his assertions then he should continue to fight against all those who are corrupt.
@ Nate... I have known Catholic Priests and attended a Bible study with one for two years (along with several protestant pastors). (He admitted that the biggest weakness in the Catholic Church is they don't emphasize studying the Bible as do the protestants) Certainly they have studied the Bible, but their methodology and framework is false. For me, to know the Bible is to understand what it is teaching clearly and not based on extrabiblical pronouncements of the various Popes and Cardinals.
Apparently you think you can topple the system with tax protests. Remember that Federal tax protesters go tp prison and local tax protesters lose their homes.
So everyone in the LA riots went to jail? We're not talking about a few people, but millions acting on a massive scale.
@Rantor
I should have been specific that my surprise is that the NYT (Left/Liberals) has seen fit to accuse Cruz of not being a natural born citizen AND pulling McCarthy out of the liberal bugaboo closet especially when time & history vindicated him. So for me, both points of attack are rich.
The sad thing is there is so much stupid. I can't fix all this stupid. None of us can fix this much stupid. God can. Otherwise, as history has shown, pain and misery at an incredible scale will sometime soon commence.
I saw a bumper sticker last year that said ...
"Stupid should be more painful."
My assumption is that this means that stupid should be more painful before the physical pain and consequences begin, thus providing an opportunity to change course at an individual level.
So everyone in the LA riots went to jail? We're not talking about a few people, but millions acting on a massive scale.
Good luck getting millions of the frightened American sheeple to stop paying their taxes.
Immigration is destroying it because the USA has been invaded by millions of people who vote to the left side of the political spectrum.
@Vox
Yes! It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people are, individually or collectively. Look at their home countries and their general political tendencies. True conservatives (which I've met outside the of the U.S. amazingly enough) are hard to come by. They are very much the exception, not the rule.
I remember what a Brazilian once told me about conservatives in Brazil (he was fiscally and morally conservative): "We're lines around a . in the large scheme of politics here." In other words, they are few and far between.
I think one of the best things at this point may be for the economy just to auger in. Then we'll see who really wants to stay and who just wants free stuff. It may be the best thing to help eject 50 million invaders.
I have been continuously underwhelmed by Rubio. I said so a couple times, most notably after his recent State of the Union Response, which had the misfortune of featuring Rubio himself, alone, and thus was completely underwhelming. My Lord have I been jumped on by Republicans for bringing this up. Rubio's a hot commodity in their universe, and they'll brook no talk otherwise. He's their rising star, and nobody should rain on the parade.
I've got no idea why. It must be because he's hispanic. He does sound some conservative themes, but awkwardly. Nobody's going to mistake this guy for Reagan. And in the Senate he's joined in yet another damnable "Gang", this one for immigration reform (guaranteed To Not Go Well), so he's wandered off onto the McCain/Graham sort of track? But hey, he's hispanic! I guess the GOP is set on trying to play identity politics, another damnable thing.
So I'm taking up a wait-and-see posture over Rubio. And as of now, I'm not expecting much from him.
It must be because he's hispanic
Which is exactly right for Republicans. He's not even Hispanic, he's Cuban. Leave it to these idiots to stand and fight for a guy who's not even in the demographic they are trying to pander to.
Neither the GOP or left are ready for the demands of secession that many races or states will demand.
@dh
Cubans ARE Hispanics. Unless you mean that Hispanics on the US are 99.9% Mexicans (poor Peruvian bastard Zimmerman got shat on hard. No words from La Raza). Which makes the US an unique case.
I don't know why you want the Republican Party to be saved. Didn't you say there is no difference between the two parties? We are doomed if you don't vote for Republicans and mean it. I don't understand why you're alarmed especially with your opinion of the last election. You thought Romney would win, but he is no different than Obama. I suppose this latest post is the irony of ironies. We are drifting towards an one party government and the irony is you helped we get there inadvertently since you acknowledged the vote makes no difference. Actually, if Romney won, we wouldn't be having this conversation on immigration, and Obamacare would have been repealled or curtailed. We are doomed from the last election.

Can I have some of what you're smoking?
Romney passed the state equivalent of Obamacare when he was a governor. And there's no way he would have opposed immigration reform, especially from a "bipartisan" group.
"Romney passed the state equivalent of Obamacare when he was a governor. And there's no way he would have opposed immigration reform, especially from a "bipartisan" group."
Wow, what a way to miss the point. What Romney did in his state has nothing to do with the nation. These are different issues. If Romney won, whether he personally would have wanted immigration reform (same with healthcare reform) is a moot issue. The nation will be in a different place. Immigration reform and further healthcare reform will be dead politically.
> Wow, what a way to miss the point.
Romney had already said he wanted to keep parts of Obamacare. I can't help it if you don't believe him. And if you think any of his proposals on immigration would have amounted to anything I all; well, just repeat my first sentence in the previous comment.
"Romney had already said he wanted to keep parts of Obamacare. I can't help it if you don't believe him."
I can't help it if you still miss the point. He wanted to keep the popular provisions of healthcare reform as do the Republican Party. This does not mean he wants a reformed Obamacare. Obamacare in itself is out.
As for your last remark on immigration, I really have no clue as to what you're referring to.
> I can't help it if you still miss the point.
I really don't think I'm the one missing the point here. But if you want to keep thinking Romney would have been our salvation, be my guest. It's a moot point now anyway.
"But if you want to keep thinking Romney would have been our salvation, be my guest."
I didn't say this either. You're a lost cause. LOL!!! You keep saying the most ridiculous things and attributing them to me.
I do think Romney winning would have sent a message that further immigration and healthcare reform is unacceptable. At best, this will delay it, not necessarily stop it. To keep stopping it requires winning the Senate as part of the deal. Even then, we need more Tea Party advocates rather than mainstream Republican politicians.
@ Gx1080
Mexicans make up 63% of Hispanic Americans, a whopping 32 million people. Puerto Ricans are next biggest at 10% (5 million), followed by Cubans at 4% (2 million). How does putting up a Cuban appeal to either major demographic that decidedly votes Democrat? Not to mention that Hispanics actually have animosity towards Cubans for their economic success in the US, who to them are the "Jews" of Central America. And the worst part about putting up Rubio is that many American Cubans dont even LIKE Rubio. So the one ethnic group that has consistently voted Republican is going to be lost on top of the negative effect on Latinos as a whole, all because of the GOP's in-your-face Hispandering.
