Diversity is the death of the republic

This isn't a thought that is new to me; HongKongCharlie reminds us that the Founding Fathers knew it very well:

"The safety of a republic depends essentially on the energy of a common national sentiment; on a uniformity of principles and habits; on the exemption of the citizens from foreign bias and prejudice; and on that love of country which will almost invariably be found to be closely connected with birth, education, and family. The opinion advanced in the Notes on Virginia [by Thomas Jefferson] is undoubtedly correct, that foreigners will generally be apt to bring with them attachments to the persons they have left behind; to the country of their nativity; and to its particular customs and manners. They will also entertain opinions on government congenial with those under which they have lived; or if they should be led hither from a preference to ours, how extremely unlikely is it that they will bring with them that temperate love of liberty, so essential to real republicanism?"
-Alexander Hamilton, From the New York Evening Post: an Examination of the President's Message, Continued, No. VIII, 1802"

Those who advocate diversity and immigration are not merely foolish, or ignorant, they are as actively and effectively anti-American as the most antipathetic individuals who are consciously attempting to destroy what is left of traditional, constitutional, civilized, European America.

So, do keep this in mind:  The rabbits and pinkshirts loudly proclaim that my opinion is outrageous, offensive, and intrinsically unworthy of debate... despite that opinion being, in the words of Alexander Hamilton, "undoubtedly correct".

The rabbits and the pink shirts would loudly proclaim that old Alexander Hamilton was a a racist, sexist, nativist, homophobe dipshit. And that you shouldn't read him because he is bad. And when that doesn't work, they will attempt to pass laws to remove anything that he ever wrote from the Internet because it is divisive and promotes hate. Better download while you can before someone decides to remove all trace of Hamilton from the internet.

Blogger Scott June 20, 2013 6:24 PM

This is all obvious to anyone who can think independently. Most people just don't. And besides the statue of liberty overrides Hamilton, this country is a melting pot, Vox, the more diverse, the better. Yay! for poor weak foreigners.

Thanks too for that post and link to John Wright. I knew of him vaguely but have been having a good old time reading his journal blog. And, tonight maybe some of Kentucky's best with more of the same.

This happens internally as well, when people leave their liberal enclaves and move to more free parts of the country. But that's well known.

Everyone criticizes Hamilton as setting us up for the centeal banking (which he advocated), etc. but my take on him is that as a very brave and idealistic man (not so much sexually, the man was a rake), I dont think he could even conceive of a nation so pussy whipped as ours. Ill bet that in his mind, he fully expected a full scale revolt to take place if anyone so much as tried to pull any of the stunts that have effectively crippled the nation

Speaking of the Wonders of Diversity, the NY/NJ ultra-Orthodox Jews in Postville, Iowa who own and run the local meat processing plant from their nearby colony/headquarters had to put down a riot between their imported stubby workers and their imported Somali workers.

At least one stabbing victim was airlifted out of state to Wisconsin for free medical treatment by white folks.

Those who advocate diversity and immigration are not merely foolish, or ignorant, they are as actively and effectively anti-American...

And I think their sentiment is intentional. They are people who see the world through a materialistic lens, the same one the Communists of old have. Therefore they see most of the world as victims who, if given things to make them materialistically equal to everyone else will cease struggling and violent behavior. Therefore they want to dismantle the "old" and build the new. The only problem is they are wrong. Evil lurks in the human heart in such a way that it cannot be rooted out or fixed by human effort, a fact they will find out as we move closer to a world totalitarian regime.

I'd disagree. The idea that our strength lies in diversity is death, but the diversity is not death as long as certain elements are kept out.

Out strength lies in our freedom. And that would include, by necessity, a certain amount of diversity.

Anonymous Alexander June 20, 2013 9:41 PM

Why? Diversity of opinion perhaps? Diversity in the sense that freedom is best served by having some quota of the population hailing from China or Somalia or Argentina sounds like nonsense.

The history of the republican tradition as it spread from Greece to the Roman Republic to England to America is one of homogeneous populations... populations that observably become less free and freedom-orientated as their diversity coefficient increases.

Anonymous Anonymous June 20, 2013 10:02 PM

I only send this as "anonymous" because i don't have accounts in any of the profile options....just want to say that, I agree totally with what A. Hamilton quote, but in action the founding fathers allowed a slave culture to be created, as given via the forced conformity of "systematic oppression" (i quote VD from previous posts) to children of African slaves by whites (a conditioning that some say exist to this day). So from the beginning, america has had this inherent diversity - the constructive "american dream" culture and the degenerative slave culture. Since the majority of population ignore this, no healing ever occurs and the degenerative culture has spread, as many here seem to observe on a regular basis. So if "diversity is the death of the republic" then it was killed shortly after it was born. But yes, the immigrants will wipe away what is left of those that hold on to the "american dream" culture, as the immigrants bring their national cultures with them.

Blogger tz June 20, 2013 10:11 PM

It depends.

When you say "diversity", you implicitly include some form of democracy, so the invading barbarian hordes can destroy and change things without firing a shot.

Compare the evil of the 51% whose only genetic difference is the lack of a Y chromosome.

If we have an immutable rule of law, then those immigrating will be faced with adapt or die - and I mean that literally.

The founding fathers were genetically the same, but descended from nonconformists - Quakers and puritans.

The 17th amendment was probably the last nail in the coffin.

Civil war.

You know and I know it's going to happen.

It's going to start with a few spectacular national events, and then explode on a local level across the country at the weak points.

It will be a series of brutal local conflicts. Street by street, city by city. Very bloody. Atrocities galore, Yugoslvia-style.

It will be photographed and televised for the world to see.

But it will be local, to begin with.

My suggestion is to find out the location and habits of: your local town halls, police departments, fire departments, national guard armouries, news/media stations, utilities companies.

The term is TWANLOC, meaning "Those Who Are No Longer Our Countrymen". The term originated out of some blog somewhere, but keeps growing into a general description of a certain kind of person who happens to be, invariably, a Leftist.

The 2008 election was all about change. You can't fault Barky for hiding that, he proclaimed it every step of the way. Of course he never spelled out the agenda, he just proclaimed the nostrum. Sickeningly, people bought. Now our institutions are chock full of change agents.

That America they cherish is not the one of history, it is the yet to be realized America of their ambitions.

Unfortunately, they are bat shit crazy, unawares.

And, a populace who would elect and tolerate them is also bat shit crazy unawares.

So, things aren't looking up over here.

Anonymous A Visitor June 20, 2013 11:58 PM

I am reminded of Washington's views of immigration. Most of the Founding Fathers actually only wanted individuals from Great Britain to emigrate here, if that! They (the Founding Fathers) were wise beyond their years...*sigh*

I hope that when I move back home people won't think I'm some liberal because I have a CA license plate. If they make some snide remark, I'll ask, has your family lived in this state for the past 150 years? No, ok, then shut up.

Anonymous TheExpat June 21, 2013 12:04 AM

United we stand, divided we fall.

In more ways than one. The ruling class is obviously trying to divide America to the point that the people can no longer stand united against them, yet not so much that things go full SHTF, and especially not French Revolution style. Yes, that which cannot continue forever, won't, and all that, but so far they have successfully strung things along for much longer than most skeptics felt possible.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but the "Islamic Golden Age" owed a great deal to the EUROPEANS they conquered and the Christians who translated many of the works.

Anonymous Recycling Kills Trees June 21, 2013 12:10 AM

One point is that he was probably thinking about people from other Western European countries when he wrote that.

He was absolutely correct. It's also far too late; it's over. Forget about the general degeneration of American and English culture, the hundreds of years of inter-marriage with immigrants from these other European countries (and increasingly from other continents) is enough to ensure that.

Blame Pennsylvania.

A very large chunk of this very populace--including our loved ones, family, friends, and colleagues--will have to be eradicated if our side is to prevail.

That's what a civil war is all about.

Stop crying about it, and start training.

Anonymous WG, aka Wigger Killer June 21, 2013 12:32 AM

Hey, WG, didn't you hear? There's a new group that formed in the wake of the Boy Scouts allowing gays to join their ranks. It's called the "Lil' Crusaders". Since my sons already know how to proficiently handle firearms, the organization has a primer on basic formations and jumping out of a plane. Then, after six weeks, they will first be sent to take out those damn towel heads once and for all in the Holy Land. In the name of God, of course. Pillaging, plundering, and raping can be at the discretion of those in charge. Then, it's off to a gay part of their hometown and snipe off as many of those homos as possible. For the trifecta, the "Lil' Crusaders" will go on a field trip to the local immigration office (or car wash or law service provider) and bash the skulls of their favorite invader. There is even a points system based on what the little guys had believed were the most undesirable illegal alien.

Does this training excite you? Will my boys have what it takes to be prepared for the impending civil war that our former great nation will soon undergo? I mean, if it means liquifying my grammy because she voted for Obama, then I best not shed any tears, right?

Are you ready to be front and center, WG?

Hamilton is arguing against instant citizenship, and goes on to propose a middle-ground between that an a 14-year waiting period:

"But there is a wide difference between closing the door altogether and throwing it entirely open; between a postponement of fourteen years and an immediate admission to all the rights of citizenship. Some reasonable term ought to be allowed to enable aliens to get rid of foreign and acquire American attachments; to learn the principles and imbibe the spirit of our government; and to admit of at least a probability of their feeling a real interest in our affairs. A residence of at least five years ought to be required."

Funny, people always bring up Hitler. They never bring up Stalin and the Ukraine famine.

Can't imagine why...guess the Ukraine can't be blamed on racism. The Ukraine was all about ideology and killing those who disagree, and since the left has daydreams about that kind of thing, they can hardly fault Stalin for his little purges.

Diversity in the sense that freedom is best served by having some quota of the population hailing from China or Somalia or Argentina sounds like nonsense.
It is nonsense. But that's the best kind of straw man.

Our house is best served by letting in people that are willing to work and aren't bent on the destruction. That is why we shouldn't let in the Somali's and a few others because they act like a bunch of jerks when they get here.

We are under no obligation to let anyone in our country, but we would be wise to let in those that are willing to work. That's the part of freedom we need to embrace.

Please note, immigration is a smaller problem than welfare. Welfare, as a general term, will destroy a country regardless of immigration policy, and having bad immigration policy will only destroy it faster (which, arguably, might be better than dieing slower). So we can practically ignore immigration as long as welfare exists.

Blogger WATYF June 21, 2013 11:43 AM

Here are the (abridged) original comments from Jefferson to which Hamilton was replying...

"The present desire of America is to produce rapid population by as great importations of foreigners as possible. But is this founded in good policy? [...] Are there no inconveniences to be thrown into the scale against the advantage expected from a multiplication of numbers by the importation of foreigners? It is for the happiness of those united in society to harmonize as much as possible in matters which they must of necessity transact together. Civil government being the sole object of forming societies, its administration must be conducted by common consent. Every species of government has its specific principles. Ours perhaps are more peculiar than those of any other in the universe. It is a composition of the freest principles of the English constitution, with others derived from natural right and natural reason. To these nothing can be more opposed than the maxims of absolute monarchies. Yet, from such, we are to expect the greatest number of emigrants. They will bring with them the principles of the governments they leave, imbibed in their early youth; or, if able to throw them off, it will be in exchange for an unbounded licentiousness, passing, as is usual, from one extreme to another. It would be a miracle were they to stop precisely at the point of temperate liberty. These principles, with their language, they will transmit to their children. In proportion to their numbers, they will share with us the legislation. They will infuse into it their spirit, warp and bias its direction, and render it a heterogeneous, incoherent, distracted mass. I may appeal to experience, during the present contest, for a verification of these conjectures. But, if they be not certain in event, are they not possible, are they not probable? May not our government be more homogeneous, more peaceable, more durable? Suppose 20 millions of republican Americans thrown all of a sudden into France, what would be the condition of that kingdom? If it would be more turbulent, less happy, less strong, we may believe that the addition of half a million of foreigners to our present numbers would produce a similar effect here. If they come of themselves, they are entitled to all the rights of citizenship: but I doubt the expediency of inviting them by extraordinary encouragements." - Thomas Jefferson, 1781

Anonymous Stilicho June 21, 2013 2:03 PM
