I'm not sure what is funnier, Day Above Ground's song Asian Girlz or the hysterical reaction of the Huffington Post and all right-thinking anti-raciss individuals to it:
It is observable that whites in general, and young white males in particular, are increasingly over the idea that racism is the worse of all possible evils. And now that diversity is a central tenet of the establishment, it should come as no surprise that the young and rebellious fail to regard it as the holy of holies.
Today in horrible people doing horrible things: Day Above Ground released a song called "Asian Girlz," and it's about as bad way worse than you could possibly imagine. Judging by the reactions, "Asian Girlz" is either the most racist thing ever or just the most racist thing you'll see all day.Speaking as an East Asian Studies major, an Official Person of Color with an Asian grandfather, and a Japanese scientist, all I have to say is that the song is hilarious. Especially the little pseudo-Chinese keyboard riff. As for the stereotypes, they exist for a reason.
Here's what happens in the music video: The band is trapped in a bird cage while an Asian model strips out of a prim outfit to reveal lingerie and tattoos, while said band sings about things like fried rice and "buttf--king all night." As Buzzfeed noted, the fourth verse is actually just a list of Asian stereotypes. While this is happening, every member of the band goes on a date with an Asian girl, nights chronicled in Polaroid snapshots. THEN, the model in question picks up the bird cage and takes it (and the band) to the bathroom where she -- of course -- draws a bubble bath and lets the miniature non-musicians out for a dive into the water....

It is far better to teach that stereotypes are a a good first approximation (for both good and ill), but that individuals ought not be judged by them. Observe and see if the person meets it or is an outlier.
Blacks living in Southfield - just over the border of Detroit - are exclusionary to the point of racism. I think their personal experience suffices, and that it cost to escape the ... abyss (black holes suck, yet wither Detroit?). They are keen not to have to repeat the experience.

As to the end of anti-racism, back in 2008 as soon as Obama was elected I predicted he would be the catalyst to get race relations moving forward again in this country. Not because of any positive actions he might take (I doubted then he would take many, and today I'm not sure he's taken any), but because his existence as President would make the moral bankruptcy of the race-hustler industry impossible to ignore, and White Guilt would begin evaporating. I was absolutely certain that with a Black man in the White House, two things would happen:
1) the race grievance lobby would overplay their hand, thinking they were now in charge. Trayvon Martin is a perfect example of this.
2) every President, good bad or indifferent, gets (and deserves) criticism, and every semi-conscious American knows this. But the typically APOC (Aggrieved Person Of Color), well, whatever color their skin is, the most notable thing about it is how incredibly thin it is. Criticism is intolerable to them. All the normal, everyday expected sharp elbows thrown at an American President would provoke outrage and claims of racism that would be perfectly understood as phony posturing. The predictable response of the enablers would publically discredit their claims to a huge segment of the public.
My favorite part:

UPDATE #1: The fire truck caught fire, and, due to non-payment of the water bill, the department had to resort to patting it down with baby blankets that they had bought with their own money, intending to give them to toddlers whose houses burned down. Fortunately, there are no houses left in Detroit.
UPDATE #2: A water main unexpectedly burst at the fire department this morning, flooding the area. Due to cutbacks in the city budget, it has yet to be capped or repaired. The resourceful fire department refused to let the water go to waste, and began to gather the flood in buckets and other fire department containers, for later use in fire emergencies.
The bright side: the street surrounding the fire department is now considered fire proof, and the department has enough water stores in the short term to address any fires in or around the station (the department no longer makes calls, in an attempt to prevent crimes from being committed at the department in their absence.)
Initial reports are that the main was either caused by a breakdown in the city's ancient water infrastructure, or else due to repeated accidental blows by a fire axe.
UPDATE #3: The fire station was robbed again last night, this time at gun point. By Detroit City Police.

I agree. When everything is racist, nothing is racist anymore. When everything is abuse, than nothing is abuse. If everything is rape, than nothing is rape. If you blow the meaning of those words than the words have no meaning. And so it goes until you wind up with the exact opposite of what you wanted. Or claimed to have wanted.

Maybe it is OK if where they are from is not really a country at all. Northern Michigan is where they keep the Uppers. I noticed in the Army that guys from Maine were pretty unique too. So Huffpo wants to rail against thin, feminine, sexy, pretty women who take care of their appearance now. There's a non-starter. I wonder how much of this has to do with the fact that white girls in the U.S. are fat, mannish, ugly, lazy, entitled, cunts. Listen, dear, there is no need to rate women. They are all there for one thing. Use that sweet brain to figure out the correct answer.
Every white guy in China that I work with has a Chinese wife and for good reason. I don't think this is a 'phase' so much as a decision and reaction based on past experience. The few I know who import white girls usually get divorced or drop their girl friends in roughly 15 minutes. The white girls (not Russians or Ukrainians) who come here share some features:
* They are fat
* They try to act like men, specifically very obnoxious men
* They dress like the worst caricature of a lazy 'hipster' you can imagine
* They are extremely arrogant
* They are loud
* They put forth no effort to take care of anything or anyone including themselves
* They usually end up lesbians or go home after the 1st year
It is very rare to see one of these beasts actually date a Chinese man. It does happen, I have seen it, but usually it is because the girl is an exception (isn't fat and/or is shy and feminine). Over here at least they simply cannot compete with the local girls.
In the city I am in the Russian girls I see are super models doing ads for glitzy shopping centers, Prada bags, and the like. These are sought after by Chinese men, very very rich Chinese men. They take haughty and arrogant to a new level, above even what an American girl writing for HuffPo can accomplish. Turns me off and actually after dealing with Russian girls and American/Canadian/English girls I can safely say I am done with white chicks. You can have em'. Give me Asian any day. I live in NYC which has plenty of good looking white girls, but even still they are threatened by the appeal of Asian girls of all types. For the most part, Asian girls appear generally slimmer, more feminine, and are not all man-hating bitches. They might have their downsides in other ways, and sure, everyone is unique, but there's no denying that most regular white American girls HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE the idea of a white guy being attracted to, or even dating/marrying, an Asian girl.

Another standard of "feminine appearance" we're physically incapable of meeting. It's damn near impossible for a grown white woman to look like a 12-year-old boy, so we literally can't compete with that if that's what men decide they want.
We're not real good with the whole "target demographic" thing, no. But even then, it's a bit worrying that "fully-developed white woman of reasonable height and intelligence" is becoming a niche market rather than the default product for white men.
Another thing that's worrisome is that "feminine" is fast becoming defined by qualities a woman is NOT, rather than qualities a woman IS. NOT fat, NOT loud, NOT ambitious, NOT bitchy...but that's a different subject entirely.
Somehow it's not quite as obvious here, but when I was on a trip to Canada I saw an Asian girl on a subway (not the restaurant), and understood yellow fever. She was feminine in a way I think is utterly impossible for a caucasian woman. I don't mean in her looks, but in her demeanor. And she was just sitting there.
