Homophobia in the NFL!
The evil, homophobic Jeff Fisher, who probably belongs to the KKK, and the evil, homophobic St. Louis Rams cut the greatest lineman ever to be drafted by the NFL, no doubt because they hate progress:
The St. Louis Rams released defensive end Michael Sam on Saturday, the team announced. Sam's efforts to become the first openly gay player in NFL history came up just short in a competition against undrafted rookie Ethan Westbrooks. Also, VPFL managers, please post your keepers here in the comments. Don't forget that the draft is tomorrow.

I am impressed by Fisher ' s courage to cut the equivalent of Jesus Christ, as seen by every faggot and SJW.
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

soccer is gay
Obviously, Michael Sam sucked or they would have kept her.
Unless it involves mail, lances, and horse, men rushing at each other is pretty gay.

Unless it involves mail, lances, and horse,
you rush at other men with your lance out? pervert.
frankly, i'm shocked Fisher didn't keep him on long enough so everybody could watch him fail in the opening game.
i mean, you can pick up undrafteds any time you feel like it.
musta been some interest from another team for Westbrook.
Love this photo of Ethan Westbrooks, an innocent boy who didn't mean to spoil Michael Sam's big, gay career.
They had to wait long enough to have serious numbers to back their actions. Now the numbers are in and if the pink mafia claims he was cut for political reasons, all the team has to do is show his actual achieved numbers up against the rest of the team.
How could the Rams be homophobic? They basically grab their ankles every week of the regular season
Sam was very impressive, but Westbrooks was a revelation. The Rams already have the deepest defensive line in the league, so it was a numbers game. I imagine Sam will catch on elsewhere.
And Vox, if you suddenly need a stand-in for your draft, I am in full draft mode and am ready, willing and available on short notice.
"I imagine Sam will catch AIDS elsewhere."

Rams be raciss. Dey wooden cut him if he's a white gay.
OT.. Started watching soccer post World Cup.
Got MLS and EPL via standard cable package.
Do I upgrade to GolTV for German Bundesliga?
OR
Upgrade to beIN for Italian Series A & Spanish Primera division??
Good. He got his chance and couldn't cut it, at least with the Rams anyway. He'll still make a practice squad somewhere. Funny, I saw a package of highlights somewhere showing him getting a coverage sack and a tackle after pursuing a screen. That's called life playing D-line. Never made a 'wow' play. Like Michael Irvin used to say, in the NFL there's bad m'fers all over the field. Sam just wasn't one of them.
Kind of surprised the NFL didn't make the Rams take Sam. Shaun HIll under center and they have 6 games against NFC West teams. Their season is already over.
Wait a cotton-picking minute: when did Nate drop Tahwmmy boy for... Romo? Son, are you going to buy a 1911 in 9 mm next?
I would like to congratulate the member of the VP-AFL who drafted 5 QB's in our auction draft today.
Well, Sam played his best hand - he and his manager probably figured that "coming out" would more or less force the Rams to draft him regardless of how he played. However there is so much money riding on the NFL draft choices that the money trumped the ideology.
Michael Sam's college career was impressive but inconsistent. He usually didn't manage all that much against the tougher teams in his division. Typical final round draft choice. Worth a shot but no more than a shot.
He'll wind up on the prep team and will probably get upped once someone gets hurt.
Expect a momentary shriek or two from the SJWs who thought he and his boyfriend were just totes adorbes.
I'd say beIN personally.
"Sam was very impressive, but Westbrooks was a revelation. The Rams already have the deepest defensive line in the league, so it was a numbers game. I imagine Sam will catch on elsewhere."
You have a curious definition of impressive. Sam did exactly jack shit in the last preseason game... and... Sam doesn't play special teams. We have a word for borderline guys who don't play special teams. We call them Insurance Salesmen.
"Wait a cotton-picking minute: when did Nate drop Tahwmmy boy for... Romo? Son, are you going to buy a 1911 in 9 mm next?"
Tawwwmy is done.
I seriously doubt I'll finish the year with Romo as my starter though.
Imagine the uproar if Michael Sam ever violates the NFL's new domestic violence policy.
"Imagine the uproar if Michael Sam ever violates the NFL's new domestic violence policy."
When has black-on-white crime ever caused an uproar?
BTW, Nate, congrats on the Bama win. WVU kept t closer than I expected, but the better team won.
James... WVU is way better than they were last year. Reminds me in the difference between RichRod's first year... and his second. That WR White is gonna play in the NFL.
Saban said after the game that WVU came out in some formations that Bama had not practiced for at all... and really confused the D. That's a big deal. Not many coaches get one over on Saban like that.
Bama's QB Sims just sucks. Kid is terrible. I can't believe they didn't play Coker.
Still... I can't be to bummed. D settled down and really put the clamps on in the 4th.. finishing with 2 punts then a turnover on downs. And well... clearly Bama can run the ball. Oline was just owning the line of scrimmage all day.
We have to get Coker ready to play though. We can't win a championship with Sims. No way. No how.
Romo over Tawmmy is a no brainer. With how shitty the Cowboys defense is Romo will be throwing it an easy 60 times a game, now whether he survives the season without injury is another story entirely so Nate should invest in a good back up.

Nate, we are talking NFL roster fringe. Impressive is in the context of the seventh defensive lineman on a fine defensive line. Based on performance, he would have made a team less stacked in linemen. Really, making an NFL roster is impressive.
Ninth lineman, not seventh.
It played out exactly as I expected it would. Dumped at the very end of preseason, along with scores of other NFL hopefuls, just like Tebow a year ago.
I still think he'll wind up on a 'practice squad' then waived just before the playoffs.
Just like the Patriots (Jets, Broncos) could say ''hey, we tried, we really did, it just didn't work out'' the [team] can can do the same with Michael Sam.
In both cases it wasn't the gay (or faith) that mattered, it was the ''not good enough''.
Sad that there is less mention of the achievements of the first few draft picks. Mainstream media is hilarious. Dana Patrick all over again.
@ Nate: You might do better with Orton
Nate:
We have a word for borderline guys who don't play special teams. We call them Insurance Salesmen.
I'm thinking just like Tebow, broadcast gig.
Tebow deserved a roster spot. In fact, given the Rams power running offense, he's probably a better fit right from the studio than Sam or any QB on their roster.
If Sam doesn't find another team, maybe he can land a gig doing rainbow color commentary.
Gapeseed:
Tebow deserved a roster spot.
He was at best an adequate backup while playing, and a year away from the game? Please.
I've posted this comedy bit before. Some background; it was done near the end of the IRL USFL when they were signing star QB's like (now NFL hall of famers) Jim Kelly and Steve Young.
A QB with 'Johnny Football'-level stats (and hype) is going to get serious consideration even if he's as big a flamer as Richard Simmons.
And if he can translate that into NFL stats he could prance off the sideline wearing all pink all the time. Bank on it.
Tebow is a charismatic bull with a strong arm and exceptional athleticism. The Rams have a very good offensive line with receivers who can run deep. You don't think those attributes could fit a team with an exceptional defense? Fisher could play it close to the vest and allow Tebow to win games late, like he did with Denver. And the marketing department would salivate at the opportunity to sell ten zillion jerseys. It's a win-win. Let's go, St. Louis, do it!
Tebow does not have a strong arm.
So long gay boys...
Gapeseed:
Do some reading. I liked Tebow, I was openly hoping the Jacksonvile Jaguars would pick him up and even make him their starter, he was a star at the U of F, there was (is) a natural fanbase there for him. It short, he would have put butts in seats (Have you ever seen a Jacksonvile home game? Lots and lots of empty seats).
Would he have helped the Jaguars on the field? LOL, that's not the point, it's just that he wouldn't have hurt them either.
''And with the first pick of the 2015 NFL Draft the Jacksonvile Jaguars select...''
Here is Tebow's NFL Scouting Combine Report: http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/tim--tebow?id=497135 --- Note the part of "Possesses very good arm strength."
But this debate is pointless. Tebow's usefulness is limited because no team is willing to build an offense around him. The Rams are almost uniquely suitable for him and have nothing to lose after losing Bradford. They ought to give him a shot.
"Nate, we are talking NFL roster fringe. Impressive is in the context of the seventh defensive lineman on a fine defensive line. Based on performance, he would have made a team less stacked in linemen. Really, making an NFL roster is impressive."
No. He wouldn't. Teams do not keep borderline guys unless they contribute on special teams. Even if they weren't stacked at DE... rather than taking Sam... they would go get someone off the waivers that CAN contribute on special teams.
Thought we set them in our profile
Charles, RB
Brees, QB
And seriously? More of this Tebow bullshit? Look the kid was a joke in college and he's a joke in the NFL.
Keep your highschool offenses out of the NFL.
Gapeseed:
You think I'm overstating things about the Jaguars?
No, no I'm not.
Teams keep developmental guys all the time. The meme that Sam is somehow Jackie Robinson is incredibly silly for a variety of reasons, but I'd bet that Sam will make some team, even if he's unlikely to be more than a rotational guy at best.
YIH - I agree with you, but always thought that Tebow not going to Jacksonville was about Khan owning the team and not wishing to give a Christian fundamentalist a platform.
Nate, really, regardless of what you think of Tebow as a pro player, he is really one of the all-time great college players. I mean, c'mon. You're only damaging your credibility criticizing his college career.
For Nate:
Report: Tony Romo’s Official Website Always Seems To Crash At Worst Possible Times.
My sources say Michael Samael is demanding to retain locker-room privileges, citing Leer Equality with the fem 'journalists'.
In case the CFL doesn't pan, he's also lining up a guard gig at the local mancages.
Good times.

Applying the standard that locked starters give 70% in the preseason whereas bubble players give 100%, I wouldn't even think Sam was good enough to make the Chicago Bears defensive line last year and we had Shea McClellin as a starter.
Come on, girls!

I can't disagree with his time in the NFL but Tebow a joke in college? The all-time SEC leader in total yards, total touchdowns, passing efficiency and a myriad of awards in the best conference in college football? Well, OK, then.

monkey boy
Bundesliga, of course! Because Weltmeister.
Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy.
The NFL couldn't have been so naive - could they? - as to have thought that all the left really *did* want for a member of a protected group (of two at once, actually!) was equality of opportunity instead of outcome, a level playing field, and a fair shot?
Oh, dear - I think they did. They didn't understand that the left always drastically understates what it really wants and expects (What does the word "tolerance" actually mean, after all?). How unfortunate for them. They will now be smeared as fascist homophobes because Michael Sam was not guaranteed a place on the team, made Rookie of the Year, given an MVP trophy, and inducted into the Hall of Fame on the first day he showed up for practice.
Why - why? - do people always refuse to face how the left actually works (as opposed to how it claims to work)?
I went to the MSU game Friday night - MSU trounced Jacksonville State 45-7, as they should have (that is MI 1, AL 0 so far this year). I will say that Jacksonville State had a very impressive band.
"You think I'm overstating things about the Jaguars?"
You realize the Jags have better attendance numbers than several NFL teams? Better than Miami?
You see empty seats in the stadium because the Jags play in what is, by NFL standards, a HUGE stadium. So because they don't sell as many tickets as the Chicago freakin' Bears you think their stadium is empty? Give me a break.
As for Tebow... not drafting him was a very simple decision. They didn't draft him because He isn't very good. Hell he wasn't even the best QB at his own church... That was Rusty Smith... who by the way... managed to stay in the league longer than Tebow did!
Also... this crap about Khan not wanting Tebow because he was a Christian? Dude... Tebow was drafted in 2010. Khan agreed to buy the team in November of 2011... a full 18 months after the Jags decided to not draft Tim Tebow.
" The all-time SEC leader in total yards, total touchdowns, passing efficiency and a myriad of awards in the best conference in college football? Well, OK, then."
Total yards is now held by Arron Murray. and as for passing efficiancy and completion percentage... all that is is further evidence that he was a system QB and nothing else. He threw hundreds of 3 yard passes that his WRs turned into far far more.
He was never going to do anything in the NFL.
Nate is correct. Sam is a borderline guy. He will probably be put on the practice squad and given a year to develop.
I live near Dallas and my wife is friends with the sister of Alan Ball. Know the name? He is an 8-year pro who plays for Houston. He was waived by the Cowboys and was on the practice squad. He was called up during the 2009 and played special teams and CB. He was made a starter in 2010, started 16 games, registering 50 tackles, 2 interceptions, 4 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles and half a sack. He lost his starter job the next season and then not signed the next season.
He wound up with Houston and now plays for Jacksonville. He is at best a mediocre/journeyman player who has managed to hang on for 8 years in the NFL. He has never played on a winning team either but he made it to the big show.
If Sam can improve, he might have a chance for a career like Alan Ball's, but he will never be a starter/force in the NFL. I think this is the best he can hope for, but he needs to play special teams or he has no chance.

It depends if you wanna actually watch soccer; or Italians flopping to the the ground at the slightest touch of the other team, or listen to loud obnoxious announcers screaming every two seconds like they're watching a much better more exciting game.
Nate, thank you for the correction. I forgot Murray overtook Tebow for total yards. I apologize for not being clear. I don't disagree that he was a system quarterback. In fact he chose Florida over Bama because he could fit in Meyer's system better. I wasn't using success in the NFL as a metric. Tebow was more like an Eric Crouch or Tommy Frazier, great college quarterbacks that didn't have success in the NFL. I had my doubts before he was drafted that he would have success at the next level. But I thought "a joke in college" was a little harsh.
