86 Mounds View Meerkats (5-5-0)

93 Bane Cornshuckers (6-4-0)
49 King (5-5-0)

81 RR Redbeards (6-4-0)
79 Favre Dollar Footlongs (5-5-0)

81 Gilbert Gamma Rays (6-4-0)
54 Boot Hill Bogs (2-7-1)

79 Texas Chili Eaters (5-4-1)
64 Clerical Errs (1-9-0)

Bloody Grizzlies.... It's good to see that it looks like the Vikings should be getting AD back soon. I have slightly mixed feelings about this week's game, however. A friend of mine is tight with the Bears' head coach, and I have the sense that a blowout Vikings would likely seal Trestman's fate immediately. But honestly, if he can't stop the Bears' historic defensive meltdown against a rookie quarterback leading a division rival missing its star player at home, then he probably should lose his job before the end of the season.

One of the fascinating things about seeing the Bears implode is that I know for a fact that Marc Trestman is a very smart guy. He's probably one of the smarter coaches in the league. So the whole thing has provided an object lesson in demonstrating the fact that sheer intelligence, even when combined with hard work, is not necessarily synonymous with success.

UPDATE: Sweet fake punt by the Vikes leads to a touchdown. And to think Sparklepunter tried to get Mike Priefer fired! Lesson: never listen to an idiot punter.

Something isn't right. I know Canada is different, but he has managed a football team. And he is no stranger to successful NFL teams. Last year went pretty well considering they had no D-line. Yes he threw away the vikings game and a playoff birth by overcoaching, but there has been no glaring bad coaching decisions this year.

And the whole Briggs mess doesn't make sense. The guy plays like, and has all but said he is just there to cash a paycheck. No wonder the other 10 guys are playing for themselves and not as a unit. And then they have McClellin on the field as a start just because he was Emery's first draft pick rather than Jones who has demonstrably played better. I don't want to excuse the coaches, but I feel that ownership/GM might be making personnel decisions they shouldn't be.

oh and just an aside, I don't think the McCaskey's have the money to clean house. I can't see Trestman getting fired until after 2015.

Although, as hard of a time as people give them for the Cutler deal, he is easily tradeable based on his contract.

Ah, the epic battle between two legendary NFL rivals...
For third place in a four team division.

In most cases, it works against your success. It can take a long time to get control of your intelligence. I would hazard a guess that one of the leading professions in Mensa is taxi driver.

It's good to see that it looks like the Vikings should be getting AD back soon. Maybe not.
But at least there's snow!

The Bears have only one quality defender on the roster, and he's a rookie.

Even worse, win the toss, receive the opening kickoff...
And fumble it away. THAT'S a lol!

Can't believe the Rams just won (and held the Broncos to 7 points). I really wish they'd decide if they're a good team or not. :Op

Intelligence cannot anticipate execution. Trestman is smart enough to know that--financially--you've got to start Cutler even if he's going to lose you a lot of games. That contract is a monster, and has nothing to do with Trestman's ability to coach, even though ultimately, it could cost Trestman his job.

My 2-8 bucs are in last place below the first place 4-6 Atlanta Falcons. With win over Redskins, I smell blood in the water.

So the Texans have determined that being able to throw a football more than 10 yards is a desirable trait in an NFL quarterback. Better late than never.

Holy cow, Batman. Clerical Errs might pull an upset on the Grizzlies today.

If Vox loses to me tomorrow he'll be in 7th place even though he is the highest scorer. We both seem to get everyone's best shot every week. It sucks. And this would be over if Brady had even one more TD.

The Marxist government is now sicking the feds on the NFL, randomly inspecting medical staff at airports for performance-enhancing drugs. This is blatant political targeting for not changing the Redskins name.
