Art and the troll's acquaintance

@Pure, Impure thought this piece of art was worth noting. I'm not sure why, but then, I am not a visual artist. But I always find it worthwhile to discover what the would-be critic finds  praiseworthy before either dismissing his criticism or taking it seriously. And while I am not a visual artist, I thought the self-portrait looked familiar. I was, in fact, correct.

The amusing thing was that when I contacted the artist to confirm Pure, Impure's identity, she initially pretended not to know of him. She even commented that he sounded like "a real dick". Unfortunately, it was not possible to simply take her at her word given that one arrives at the same artist's Tumblr account by following a) Yama's LiveJournal, b) @pure, impure's Twitter account, or c) her own LinkedIn account.

It appears, however, that she is a mere acquaintance of the individual in question, and not an actual friend. And she did appear to have been previously unfamiliar with his online activities.

In any event, several other individuals have already agreed to provide affadavits concerning their cyberstalking by the individual known variously as: Yamamanama, Dan Picaro, Andthestarshine, Kasa the Wicked, Nikola, Alauda, Arachnothera, Beardsley McTurbanhead, Chokley Carmichael, Clamps, Comrade Questions, Daphis, Daphnis, Freddy Foreshadowing, Luscinia, Luscinia Hafez, Starshine, Sunlight, Will, Will Le Fey, Yama, Yama the Space Fish, Gobbler, Count Bullets-ula, N.T.A., Hazel-Jeu, Lilacanddatura, Phoenixwing667, Darkprophet667, and @Pure, Impure.

If you have been cyberstalked by the individual using any of the above names and would like to see it stopped, please email me for instructions. And for those who ask why I am bothering to address this matter, the answer is that 56 months is a sufficiently long time to have put up with this criminal harassment and it takes me considerably less time to place a few calls and do a little research than it does to delete the stalker's comments almost every single day.  Also, it is considerably more entertaining.

And to Yama himself, this:

I'm now giving you the opportunity to turn yourself in, admit your crimes, and ask for leniency. If you do, I will speak up for you on your behalf and welcome you here in your true identity. If you do not, no mercy will be shown to you from those you have harassed for the last 11 years. Do not think I'm the only one involved here. I have contacted many of those you have harassed in the past, and several of them are quite willing to swear out affadavits against you.

I'm not bluffing, Yama. This is really happening. I don't know what the eventual consequences for you will be, but I strongly encourage you to repent and turn from the path you are on before you make matters any worse for yourself. You are only thirty years old, there is still plenty of time for you to turn your life around and make something meaningful of yourself. You are not happy. You are miserable. You are lonely and full of hate. That is not the result of what has been done to you by the evil and rejection of men, it is the result of the path you are walking, which leads inevitably to destruction.

And what has it ever done for you that you should cling to it in such a determined fashion?

And this is after literal years of bad behavior. Years of being banned and reprimanded.

He would be well advised to cash out everything he has, head to the nearest airport, and buy a one-way ticket to someplace where the concept of "extradition" is unknown.

the really strange thing is how this idiot has no self control with his 3rd party accounts.

IF you're going to go to the trouble of trying to conceal your online identity by spoofing multiple 3rd party accounts
THEN it is absolutely retarded to inject exactly the same personal preferences / personal history details into your alt accounts.

whatever Mar(ia)ston's problems, cognitive dysfunction is certainly a major player.

Anonymous rienzi December 22, 2014 9:24 AM

As to the piece of "art" at the the top, it is, as YIH has pointed out, just a mediocre piece of crap. Any even halfway talented junior high school art class student can do better. The producer of this crap should never ever quit their day job no matter how much they view them-self as a great artiste.

Too many people treat LinkedIn as a personal social network, when it's "supposed to be" a co-worker social network. I had to ignore my sister's invitation, for heaven's sake.... That said, I can see where someone connected on LinkedIn wouldn't know about a person's extracurriculars; I wouldn't for most of my past & present co-workers.

I'm afraid my art tastes are getting a bit skewed by having a daughter looking at the fine arts as a career(*), but I like the picture. Shows some strength and beauty, both items we need from our art.

As for the trolling, I have the same lack of understanding to trolling as I do to adultery: how in the torment do you have time? I hear these people having two and three year affairs, seeing their "other significant other" at least once a week. I have more spare time than most, and I can't even post here as much as I want, and let's not talk about the wasteland that was my blog.

(*) She's looking at metalworking. We participated in an iron pour, and I was surprised by the lack of "foo-foo" artists like I've seen in other art forms. Then I realized that sculpture and metalworking require real work; there's no room for SJWs to hide and get the beta men to do all their labor while taking credit (such as Game Designer Barbie). Liberalism still infests the field, but it's much closer to left libertarianism than I expected.

Like many people that are self-loathing, it could turn out that Yama's solution to this dilemma is simply to off himself. VD, have you considered this as a potential outcome?

Of course if this happened, you would not be the least bit culpable; all of this was bound to catch up with him eventually.

Here's hoping he simply turns his life around and stops this nonsense.

KY Packrat: I'm afraid my art tastes are getting a bit skewed by having a daughter looking at the fine arts as a career(*),

My daughter is an extemely talented artist, has a B.A. in Fine Arts with an emphasis in oil painting. Can paint photorealistic when she wants to.

She has spent the last twenty years as a cubicle rat because making a living from art is almost impossible. She still paints, but for her own, and family and friends enjoyment.

My hope would be that your daughter would be successful with a career in art, but she needs to know the odds against her going in. Tom Wolfe wrote a book about the art world, and how it works several years ago. She might find it illluminating.

All the best, and Merry Christmas.

She has a couple of Christian mentors who have made art their living, and they're helping her level set with that right now. One of the things I had to do to talk her into considering a BFA was to point out that she'd be a welder, a journeyman-level foundry worker, a fair to middling steelworker, etc. after completing a BFA or MFA in metalworking at one of the state universities.

Yes, I talked her into considering it, and out of nursing. I wouldn't suggest that anyone become a nurse or doctor in this environment, but especially my little darling "Nurse Ratched". (She gets her sympathy and human compassion from both Milady and me. It would be cruel to inflict the nursing version of her onto the world.)

Of all my life accomplishments I am currently most proud of winning my families annual appetizer contest. My daughter won it last year, and got to choose the ingredient - cinnamon. I took Angus steak, cubed it, wrapped it in bacon and covered it in brown sugar, chilli powder and cinnamon. I had no idea it would be that good (I got lucky), but everybody raved. Of course, you can't go wrong with steak and bacon...

@Nate,
I dunno bout that. My eldest daughter that I taught blacksmithing, auto repair and how to split wood, among other manly arts, is now the proud mother of 4, with a husband who does all the heavy work. Her knowing how to fix her own car actually turned her away from a (very rich) young man. She was disgusted when he blew a tire. It took him 4 hours to have it towed and to get the flat replaced even though he had a spare and a jack in the trunk. "Jeez Dad, How worthless can a guy be? He couldn't even change a tire.
Her husband isn't interested in blacksmithing, but we are getting ready to pour some aluminum next month.

You're reading more into my comment than I put there. I'm not saying anything about VD specifically, really, and certainly not speculating on his motivations. I'm speaking generally about the contradiction about a Christian calling himself a cruelty artist and how it might be resolved.

I'm also making a slightly tongue in cheek reference with phrasing to the no true Scotsman fallacy, but that was just a bonus.

Given them an ego-identity. That's the crux of it. Unfortunately, they were lied to. And they believed into it. And now they enable and proselytize the lies.
Statists - the enabler and pedlar of said lies - need to answer the same question, but considering results and the fruit that various paths ultimately bear (accept/endure), it is to be asked of anything in this life.

Most certainly true. I was pointing out that's what it looks like when Blogger does a ''delete and ban'' due to a TOS violation. The last time I saw that was about 10 years ago when US service personnel were blogging in Iraq (and giving the straight scoop on what was actually going on there). Suddenly those blogs disappeared with that same message.
About two weeks later it was announced that ''blogging from a US combat area'' is also a Blogger TOS violation.

Outlaw: I'm kind of surprised you haven't bumped into this troll before on some other blog. He's been everywhere. I'm pretty sure he trolls the Ace of Spades blog from time to time; he hits Sarah Hoyt's blog fairly often, and I think I've seen him (or someone very like him) trolling John C. Wright as well. Doubtless there are other forums I don't read.

As far as I can tell, trolling is basically this guy's life work. It's what he does, full-time, 24/7. Shutting him down is a public service.

However, I also think shutting him down is impossible. He obviously cannot stop himself. He constantly comes up with new aliases to avoid bans, and constantly blows his cover within seconds. I doubt any kind of legal order will deter him. Either he will flout any restraining orders and law enforcement will shrug and get to it in their copious spare time, i.e. never . . . or he'll escalate and do something which will result in actual arrest or (more likely) mandatory psychiatric attention.

By the way, Vox: could this chap be the same one who got himself banned from Arisia and still shows up at the hotel during the con just to be an asshole? The location and personality type are certainly suggestive. You might want to reach out to Arisia convention management (possibly through some suitable intermediary since I suspect they view you in Scalzian terms) to see if there's some basis for joint action.

Yama has repeatedly willfully and maliciously engaged in a knowing pattern of conduct or series of acts over a period of time directed at a specific person which seriously alarms or annoys that person in a manner that would cause a reasonable person to suffer substantial emotional distress, and made threats with the intent to place the person in imminent fear of death or bodily injury.

No, I'm not claiming to have been "cyberbullied". I'm asserting that Yama has cyberstalked multiple individuals, in violation of Massachusetts state law. And I have spoken with the police and the local media about it today. As well as others.

Yes, it is exactly the sort of shit feminists have criminalized. It is irrelevant if the threats were "credible", the law is only concerned that the intent of the threats was to cause fear. The law is what it is, and you have clearly broken it on multiple occasions. Perhaps you should have paid more attention to the law before engaging in your criminal actions.

My wife and I met in art school. I dropped out second year (I was already getting paying work by then); she got the degree. Ironically, I have had a wonderful career as a professional artist (inter alia), while she went on to success in a non-artistic industry. The real irony is that my wife is a truly talented and creative artist, while I am merely a skilled hack. Go figure that one out.

Art school is, in my opinion, a waste of time and money. One can learn all the basic techniques at community college for much less cash; to go beyond requires "mere" hard work, hustle, and an eye on the brass ring.

My advice to all parents of creative kids is to send them to HVAC school, then college if a professional career is desired -- but only with a major in something real. No one with HVAC skills will ever go hungry in Texas.

No, Yama, blackmail is an act, often a crime, involving unjustified threats to make a gain or cause loss to another unless a demand is met.

Reporting a series of crimes to the police is not an unjustified threat. It's not even a threat. I've already done it. I've already talked to three different officers in Marshfield. I've already talked to the editors of your local newspaper. And I've already talked to people you know. Now they are aware of what you've done. What they will do with that information, I don't know. It's not my business. Stopping your harassment campaign is my business, and it will be stopped one way or another.

You're simply going to experience the inevitable consequences of your many years of harassing others. Your frantic protests to Blogger and Twitter won't accomplish anything, but they do show that you finally appear to understand that you will be held responsible for your actions.

Occasionally I have had the misfortune of running across these types in real life. Some people are just plain broken humans. It is sad, at first you think they are just mentally retarded, then you figure they are smarter than they seem, but much stupider than they think of themselves.

Then you realize that there is a broken link somewhere inside their skull. Through a series of life choices, they are just permanently off. I believe only God could heal and save them (as nothing is impossible for Him if we are willing to let Him work).

But they have embraced the lies of Satan for so long, that they just cannot see and accept the truth of their reality. Like the black dwarfs in the final book of the Narnia series, The Last Battle, they refuse to see reality right in front of their faces.

This is cyberbullying. Pure and simple.

Hiding behind your sister's skirts or just pretending to be her? Either way, it's amusing. It's not cyberbullying, Yama, it's merely the reporting of a series of crimes. The plain and simple duty of every responsible individual. I'm not the only one who is providing an affadavit to the police. It appears you didn't realize that some of the people you were harassing were military veterans and active duty military. And while the police may have no particular fondness for me, they do respect the military, Yama.

Asking him to incriminate himself?

Yes. Because the alternative is that I, and others, will incriminate him. There is no way out for him at this point. If he wants mercy, he has to request it. If he does not request it now, there will be none. As you say, I am a man of my word.

The only question is if one of the more influential people you cyberstalked is working to ensure you receive the full weight of the consequences or working to help mitigate them.

It's already too late for certain consequences that you don't even know about yet. Some genies are already out of their bottles. I can no longer do anything about them. But I tried both the 15 year and the 20 year off the same tray as a bunch of other bourbon... and it was totally unremarkable. "meh" was my honest reaction...and the other men folk present...you know them from around here as JACIII and UnderwaterOperative... felt the same way.

Sargent crayons are far preferable to Crayola. Better consistency, deeper pigmentation. Rich bouquet, with a straightforward nose and a lasting aftertaste.

I pay no heed to the idiotic qualifications the lessors apply to their malt swill.

Well-played. I'll be over here enjoying my Elijah Craig Single Barrel Scotch with a sprig of time and dash of honey.

Blogger automatthew December 22, 2014 10:22 PM

Bought a case of Sargent crayons a few years back. I'll sell you loosies.

" Elijah Craig Single Barrel Scotch with a sprig of time and dash of honey. "

Blasphomous. Heresy.

Nevertheless in 2014 nothing with the name elijah craig on it is worth drinking. I have a bottle of their 12 year old bourbon... its revolting. my dogs don't even like it.

Blogger Nate December 22, 2014 10:26 PM

no one bothers to flavor makers mark with honey or thyme.

That's because it doesn't start out tasting like a type of dirt.

I confess there was a time when i really wanted to like scotch. I kept trying new scotches... and they kept tasting like shit.. and I kept assuming I was just to dumb to pick a good one.

after a while you realize... no... I'm drinking the same crap these people rave about and spend huge money on (I once tried a scotch that was over 300 bucks an ounce) and its just all terrible.

Anonymous NorthernHamlet December 22, 2014 10:31 PM

Nate,

Well, we have common ground on elijah craig. Makers is enjoyable, but not my preferred. But my tastes have been leaning toward Mezcals and... certain beers as of late.

If I may inquire and with all due respect, do you prefer smokes like Camel Crush or menthole? I prefer my tobacco to taste exactly as such. Some of the drinks you've mentioned in the past that I enjoy is got qualities outside of merely taste, which I weight more. Are you particular about your drink's texture and... touch?

I once tried a scotch that was over 300 bucks an ounce) and its just all terrible.

I will most politely disagree.

I was afraid of that. Somehow these things never live up to the hype.

Tinted blue for the queer party friends?

"a type of dirt."

Yes. It is. Acidic rotten plant material dirt.

Well-aged, though.

Anonymous Viidad December 22, 2014 10:43 PM

I have to confess: I've never tried anything recommended by Nate and found it bad.

Cigars or booze.

And Mezcal... man, I love that stuff. Discovered it almost a decade ago and was blown away.

This is the best thread ever.

Troll tries to escape the cyber police, because back tracing.

I find out I'm not the only one who went to art school and only later realized my mistake.

And lastly of course bourbon. Knob Creek single barrel reserve for me, right now.

Why would you wait for that kind of call? Are you that desperate for human contact? Go out and have some stiff drinks and talk to a few girls (in person). You'll feel better, son.

Anonymous Stg58 / Animal Mother December 22, 2014 10:48 PM

Nate, why are you such a crackhead on amber spirits? Your intransigence prompts a single malt tear to course down my cheek...

Anonymous Viidad December 22, 2014 10:56 PM

"I find out I'm not the only one who went to art school and only later realized my mistake."

It's okay now, it's okay.

We're gonna do fine. We can find gainful employment.

There are no more splatters, canned shit, De Koonigs or Judy Chicagos here.

Group hug.

"If I may inquire and with all due respect, do you prefer smokes like Camel Crush or menthole?"

I do not smoke cigarettes... as the concept of smoking dirt doesn't appeal to me any more than the notion of drinking it.

I smoke cigars and only cigars... I loathe the flavored ones... and while I appreciate all of the non flavored ones... my tastes tend to go to big and very dark... Gurkha Warlords... Spec Ops... Onyx... that sort of thing.

You'll be doing a lot of that in the future.

Blogger Nate December 22, 2014 10:57 PM

'Nate, why are you such a crackhead on amber spirits?"

Because I've tried virtually all of them... and ever single one of them sucked?

Blogger Nate December 22, 2014 10:57 PM

here's a hint... if it was good whiskey... it wouldn't be amber.

Blogger Outlaw X December 22, 2014 10:58 PM

Nothing is gonna happen.

Really.

Nothing is gonna happen.

Whatever you do... do NOT talk to a lawyer.

I know your joking but let me tell what will happen. Yama will know it is close when his phone starts ringing at inconvenient places and times. Just after he sits down with friends or meets some one for dinner and such. It will start slow, shortly ever increasing. When he picks up the phone they hang up. This let's him know they are watching him, where he goes who he sees and even what he is talking about. And they wont stop ever until he is... If he thinks he stalked he didn't, he is about to learn what stalking really is like. When it takes an hour to be served a meal and two guys are seated next to you while you're waiting and every one else is being served... That is just the start. They like their sunglasses inside, figure it out.. I'm not trying to scare, it's just what they do.

Outlaw X,

That will just be Lawnmower Man calling him repeatedly.

Anonymous Leatherwing December 22, 2014 11:05 PM

I know what it is like to have a family member in the news, Yama. Do you really want to subject those around you to that?

Doesn't he have a relative that sings in a church in Westbrook?

Anonymous Harsh December 22, 2014 11:05 PM

At least no one has chimed in endorsing Irish whiskey.

Maybe soon in Cell Block G.
