Hunt the trolls

Or the trolls will hunt you:

There are problems not only with Shanley Kane's brand of feminism, which is sociopathic and divisive in the extreme, but with her approach to argument, too. It's not just that she doesn't like men discussing women's issues. She doesn't even like other women discussing them, complaining when she is not treated as the de facto authority on women in the technology industry, despite her loathsome treatment of everyone around her.
Another good article from Nero. Of course, it is pretty easy to deal with SJWs. You simply have to refuse to give them any ground. Don't accept their assumptions, don't allow them their assertions for the sake of argument, don't accept their appeals to fairness or equality, and above all, don't give them the inch that permits them to take the mile.

No matter how much they hate you, they will soon go in search of easier, weaker prey. Look at how every single SJW who used to attack me regularly has fallen almost entirely silent where I am concerned, despite there being considerably more people who read me now.

It's trivially easy to deal with them if you are fully self-employed and/or your income does not depend on some kind of compliance with SJW bullshit, but not so easy otherwise.
I was basically refused permanent position with a firm because of a post I wrote on the birth of my daughter that was thought to be seen as potentially misogynistic. The offensive sentence? The one between asterisks. But please note the while sentence.

Giuseppe, yours is an excellent if dismaying demonstration that SJWs pretend otherwise but are unforgiving of the least deviation from their ideology. Your while-clause doesn't matter to them, only your utter, humorless obedience. It's not enough that you do what you're told. No crimethink of any sort will be tolerated, however jokingly or kindly meant. And of course you could in the future have been fired on any trumped up charges they could be bothered to think up.

Well, at least now you don't have to work for Dolores Umbridge. Perhaps just as well.

I took a more nuanced approach and asked for a detailed list of whatvitvwould takebto be "acceptable " to the firm. Let's see if theyvever reach an end. I went to the director who said he will ask them to put together this list. I think if I ever see the list it will look like a unicorn.

This situation does illustrate one of the glaring problems that we face on the Right (to use a blanket term for want of a better):

The Leftists venerate and worship their extremists, giving them platforms and only mildly rebuking them, if at all, while secretly in their thoughts and overtly in their actions admiring their boldness.

The Right, on the other hand, (and not just the worthless and traitorous "establishment conservatives" but even more than a few paleocons, neoreax, etc.,) desperately denounce and dissociate themselves from their own extremists.

Members of both sides, ironically, feel that the moral center of political ideology is somewhere to the left of where they are.

Hence we lose. (Not the sole reason, obviously, but a not insignificant factor.)

Yet, as a director or manager, if one were to hire you and in the rare circumstance you personally had to choose between promoting a pregnant girl or a male and choose the male, the woman could go to HR, who will back her, and possibly threaten to file a lawsuit against the company for discrimination (MFLA is a protected class in the US, but if I have gotten the particulars wrong, please imagine a similar situation that could trigger a lawsuit).

As your director I have to choose carefully to fight both HR and the law while possibly hurting the company in terms of time, effort, and money, no matter what my personal thoughts on the matter. Maybe VD can chime in here and say whether he would or not. But that blog sentence is a liability in this sense, and it's now known in the organization at some level.

I mean no disrespect with sharing my perspective here, but offer it for criticism. What would be the Ilk's advice or perspective be on how else to handle such an issue professionally?

You have to educate yourself on HR policies and practices as well as federal employment law and how your local EEOC operates. The HR girls ill always take the path of least resistance and work. They will make vague comments about "diversity" and how you need to hire more women, but they will not tell you why.

Things you can do:

1. tailor your job requirements such that you can "ding" any pregnant applicant.

2. pick someone who you know can do the job and tailor the requirements to his resume. This is what H1-B law firms do for their clients so the client stop promoting white males and instead hire Indians and Chinese.

3. to deal with the vague, "you need to hire more women" pressure from HR girls, you need to understand the concept of the "pool of qualified applicants" for the people you wish to hire. If you define the job requirements to meet a very small pool of applicants, you can factually challenge their vague assertions of "not enough women".

4. subvert from within: join a diversity initiative and talk to HR people to understand exactly how they work and how the EEOC pressures them (if they do).

5. understand how the local EEOC works and how your company reports its jobs, gender and race. If you can reclassify jobs as ones for whom the "pool of qualified applicants" is all male, then lopsided male employment is less likely to trigger an EEOC investigation.

6. understand how they gather racial/gender stats. If race and gender are self-reported (i.e. HR merely takes what the worker said and passes it on to the government) then get the word out and "suggest" to people that they could change the way they designate themselves. There may well be lawsuits in which a worker challenged the racial designation the company used ("he looked white to us!") and the court decided the company must follow the worker's designation rather than second-guessing their race. Who knows. But if HR must report self-identified race/gender (or get sued) then they are likely to go along, particularly if it helps them make a case that they do not discriminate. I cannot imagine any HR girl who would pitch a bitch about a man saying he was a woman or a black, or a Mexican in these times.

Unfortunately, it is going to require some personal work and education. Again, the HR girls will not help you make your case. It means more work for them. They are not committed to getting the best, most hard-working people into any position. They are worried about EEOC lawsuits and how they might affect their career.

I hope this is helpful to you. It is a bit disjointed, I know. There really should be a book for non-HR managers to help them understand how they can control HR intrusion and hire the best person for the job.

My defence in that case would simply be that my sentence is factually correct and that multiple studies in IQ and male/female performance bear this out. Even if this were NOT provable generally it is much more provable specifically to me, in that there are roughly only 1 female to 10 males of +3sd of IQ.
Of course, the fact one would even have to think about a court case for this IS the problem.

1. I have no problem providing or protecting and never have had such a problem. As it happens I can walk away today from these guys and have another job paying the same or better by the end of the week. This is not bluster, this is what I did when I left the last job, and the one before and the one before. I make people a great deal of money and regardless of how much SJW bullshit there is in the world, money trumps SJW bullshit about 100% of the time. If you had any knowledge of what goes on in say banking circles, you would not assume otherwise.

2. I have never been, nor ever will be a "poor dad" and I can literally stop all work and live purely from my writing if I were willing to live somewhere other than London, which I am, but for other reasons, not right now. In other words, if I were to do what Vox is doing and say move to Italy, I can already make a living doing only what I want to do. I happen to live in London, with the Thames out my balcony close enough I can drop something off my balcony and it will land in it.

3. I am not American. America is NOT the world and the "American dream" has always been thought of by me as a fucking nightmare. I don't have a degree nor did I waste my time in a University and by the law of statistics and your demonstrated assumptions I would be willing to bet I make considerably more than you do unless you inherited your money.

4. I have never been an employee and this single foray towards that avenue for me has demonstrated part of the reason why.

5. What you fail to understand is that I like to study things that others may find uncomfortable. I want to see what the end result will be. I want to see how this goes and what work and what doesn't in the REAL WORLD against the SJW bullshit. So, while a pain in the ass, I expect to gather valuable information for the future regarding these people and their cultural marxism.

You can now go back to being brave and tough on the internet m Jar-Jar Broni. But thanks for the entertainment, it's been a slow day.

been there before and won. But I kinda like these guys, apart from the bullshit SJW HR nonsense they seem to have signed up to, so I'm playing it different. I haven't been with them 3 years. I been freelancing with them for 6 months. They offered a permanent position, I was looking at it as a potential option. We'll see how it goes.

And I think this is precisely why Gamergate will ultimately fail. There are too many people within it with leftist sensibilities and a leftist approach to reality. Too many people saying "We think diversity belongs in games, too! We just don't think the desire to see a diverse cast comes before good storytelling!" If you let the enemy decide on the battlefield AND on the terms of victory, then you've already halfway lost. (GG might succeed if we can gather up a large number of conservative radicals who unapologetically say "Yeah, it's about ethics in journalism. But it IS also about Zoe Quinn being a horrible skanky slut and why being a horrible skanky slut is a BAD THING!" But I doubt any of the youngsters involved with this movement will have the stones to do that. Too many of them still see beta behavior as their only access ticket to the college-aged girl poon they lust after. )
