Mailvox: of rabbits and communism

AD sees the connection:
I read these quotes and can't help comparing to your Rabbitology posts.

"What I had failed to understand was that the security I felt in the Party was that of a group and that affection in that strange communist world is never a personal emotion. You were loved or hated on the basis of group acceptance, and emotions were stirred or dulled by propaganda. That propaganda was made by the powerful people at the top. That is why ordinary Communists get along well with their groups: they think and feel together and work toward a common goal."
- School of Darkness, Chapter 16 (1954), Dr. Bella Dodd, head of the New York State Teachers Union , member of the Communist Party of America (CPUSA) in the 1930s and 1940s, later a vocal anti-communist

"The process of completely freeing oneself emotionally from being a Communist is a thing no outsider can understand. The group thinking and group planning and the group life of the Party had been a part of me for so long that it was desperately difficult for me to be a person again. ... But I had begun the process of “unbecoming” a Communist. It was a long and painful process, much like that of a polio victim who has to learn to walk all over again. I had to learn to think. I had to learn to love. I had to drain the hate and frenzy from my system. I had to dislodge the self and the pride that had made me arrogant, made me feel that I knew all the answers. I had to learn that I knew nothing. There were many stumbling blocks in this process."
It is hard for rabbits to break out of the warren, and even harder for them to become a not-rabbit. Don't expect much in the way of reason from the pinkshirts, for as it is said, it is difficult to reason a man out of a position he has not reasoned himself into. This is why they switch fluidly between contradictory positions as easily as a school of fish changes direction; they're not paying any attention to the direction of the school, they're completely focused on the actions of the rabbits around them.

Something I've noticed about rabbit projection is they label all of the people who disagree with their ideas as "x-phobic". Don't like gay marriage? Homophobic. Think transgender people are insane and need medical help, not their bits chopped up? Transphobic. Think Islam isn't good for Western society? Islamophobic. They fear (and hate, but mostly fear) everything they fight against, and so assume the rest of us are fearful.

The other thing I've noticed is how, when they don't declare you to be fearful, that you are ignorant. The idea comes from the fact that they don't think out their positions, they are rather issued their correctthink talking points from on high, and must learn to public ally embrace them or be Othered from the warren. I Suppose this is why all Leftist regimes have re-education camps. They therefore assume that, if you don't agree with them and they can't easily call you fearful, then you simply don't know what the correctthink is. As an example, you're ignorant If you think people can be racist towards white people because you don't know that racism is power plus prejudice, and that white people have all the power all the time.

This blog has been unimaginably valuable to helping me understand the Left. Thank you, Vox.

It's not impossible, but it is difficult. In the same vein, it's like men and, sometimes, women accepting the red pill reality. It isn't an overnight process; it's a painful, shameful change (if you had been one to swallow all the lies, that is), that is often accompanied by anger and humility. And it's far from easy.

Since most pinkshirts are unaccustomed to hardship and honest self-reflection, it's no wonder so few of them attempt to understand what they're so rabidly fighting against.

Blogger Kryten 2X4B 523P January 20, 2015 12:32 PM

So broadly speaking - the left are effectively a cult?

They seem to display a lot of similar markers - indoctrination, groupthink, unquestioning allegiance to the leaders / doctrine, amongst others.

It has become abundantly clear that unfortunately I had married one of these people.
Thus, the impossible task I am researching is how to cause one of these moments of awakening in a confirmed rabbit.

The camouflage was extensive at first and there was no objections ever. As however she got what she thought she wanted (marriage and shortly thereafter a child) the switch was drammatic. It had in fact begun after engagement but I missed it because so much chaos was going on in our lives (that was no one's fault) that I put any issues between us down to those difficulties.

After she abducted my daughter she has invariably allowed other rabbits to shape her mind, and the narrative has now reached epic proportions of absurdity (which legally is actually helpful to me).

I could not reconcile her behaviour with the person I had originally been with, but now I have concluded that an underlying borderline narcissist has shifted into a full blown rabbit/narcissist.

I have no idea of how to successfully deal with this situation, but I noted that any attempt at reason, compromise or negotiation was abused to an extent that would make a maggot gag.

As of the last communication, noting the harm she is doing to our daughter. I have decided to go with the legal nuclear option. And told her as much. To my surprise, she's been more reasonable since. Not enough to avoid the nuclear option though, so it will come.

I am torn in that I am not sure how she will react once she is exposed to the world for what she really is, but there is a non-zero chance she might desist if she knew what is about to come her way. Sadly, she will only find out once the mushroom cloud begins. My hope is that the experience will be so drastic she might actually normalise. My fear is she might do something drastic.

If any of the ilk have had a similar experience please share.

Vox,

OT I know, but I just saw a headline that says Yemen may have just underwent a coup of some kind. The Palace is in ruins, and the president has no control there. Houthi Shiite's they said. Newcomers to the party I'd guess.

Anonymous Giuseppe January 20, 2015 12:42 PM

Kryten,
Yup. You nailed it. I do have some experience of certain cults and yes, there is pretty much a one to one similarity.

Anonymous Sevron January 20, 2015 12:44 PM

Kryten,

Dennis Prager often says that Leftism is the most successful religion of the last 100 years. I think he's right about that.

Anonymous Mike M. January 20, 2015 12:57 PM

Susan, Vox:

A coup in Yemen could get very ugly. Aden controls the southern approaches to the Red Sea, and thus can block traffic through the Suez Canal.

This would impact the United States some, as that routing is the one used for oil tankers and warships from the Atlantic. It would hit Europe far harder. There was a reason the British used to keep strong forces there.

Anonymous VD January 20, 2015 1:06 PM

My hope is that the experience will be so drastic she might actually normalise.

Nope. Don't count on it. She won't likely do anything drastic either. Rabbits in a panic freeze. Look at Andrew. When confronted with inescapable consequences, they'll do the minimum to make the pressure let up, then return right back to what they were doing.

Yeah, I mentioned that yesterday. Whatever. Let me know when France or Germany do....

Giuseppe, Sevron:
Thanks for the confirmation - I'll admit Im not as widely read as I'd like, but its been interesting watching the behaviour in Gamergate and comaring it to the more rabid lefties I know. Sounds like I need to add Prager to the reading list as well.

Re: Coup in Yemen
Coincidence that this occurs just as we in Europe finally see the fall in oil prices finally reflected at the pumps? If it impacts the Suez Canal, that would potentially restrict supplies and start to force prices back up again. Probably just my tinfoil hat talking though.

Blogger Lovekraft January 20, 2015 1:10 PM

I was thinking about the footage of A Sarkeesian being escorted by police under very flimsy, if not outright false, threat fears. Arkon of Sarkad and Thunderf00t (youtubers) are examples of extremely brave individuals facing down what I saw was an immense threat that Sarkeesian represented - the face of every SJW infitrator.

In one interview, she was asked "why don't you people just lighten up and leave people alone" to which she quickly responded that these video games shape peoples' thinking, thus they require nanny's guidance.

Ominous and chilling how this person with no accountability and who runs from open debate feels that she is an authority to censor.

"After she abducted my daughter she has invariably allowed other rabbits to shape her mind, and the narrative has now reached epic proportions of absurdity . . . If any of the ilk have had a similar experience please share."

@Giuseppe

My brother has been going through it for the last three and a half years or so. There isn't enough space to describe how deep this particular rabbit hole goes. His wife abducted their nine children (she was pregnant with her 9th at the time - he has never met his 9th who turns 3 in March).

Not only is she insulated by the warren, but she is financially supported in full by its various members. It's a complete fantasy world that seems impregnable. Both me and my brother have been demonized, at times very publicly, by countless folks, most of them strangers I have never met, while others are close family members.

A phrase that stick in my mind was when my brother was asked: Which one of your principles are you going to compromise in order to get your kids back?

The kids are fully bank rolled with all of the school-aged kids enrolled in a private Christian school to the tune of at least $50K or $60K a year, not to mention groceries, vehicle, rent, etc. (for the last 3 1/2 years, mind you). Though my brother has not gone anywhere near his family during this entire time, the initial restraining order that was filed when has been renewed every year since. Of course, he could pay for supervised visits every few weeks at the Nurturing Center if he wants, and since he has elected not to involve himself in any of this, he is currently facing 5-10 years in the State Pen for back child support and default judgments against him, as he is not interested in dragging things through the courts.

He simply can't win. If he sends birthday cards to the kids he is characterized as confusing and hurting them by doing so, if he stays away and complies with the restraining order, he is a deadbeat Dad who could care less about his kids. Prison is certainly not what he wants, but believe it or not, at this point the alternatives are far worse.

He is the only one not lying to his kids. We are hoping that a healthy dose of truth and reality will set things right. No one can ever fully understand another man's pain or what they're going through, and I don't pretend to understand your, but sometimes it helps to know you're not going through similar trials alone. The bottom line, is that you have to hold to the course marked out by the truth NO MATTER WHAT.

"Let him who is convinced that his views are true and right express them . . . at every opportunity . . . without considering how much support or how much opposition he will encounter. Only falsehood is in need of many supporters in order to win the day; falsehood must have the authority of numbers to make up for what it lacks in justification. Truth, by contrast, will always prevail, even if it takes time. Noble, courageous and pure, expressed with all the fiery zeal and conviction and with all clarity of sure awareness, stated again and again at every opportunity, truth will ultimately gain respect and admiration even of those who do not accept it. The only truth that can be lost beyond recall is that truth whose adherents no longer have the courage to speak up candidly on its behalf. Truth has never gone down in defeat as the result of opposition, it has done so only when its friends are too weak to defend it." - (R' S.R. Hirsch)

We have found that the more we continue to quietly hold our position, the more enraged the warren becomes with us. The warren will eventually collapse under the weight of the falsehoods, falsehoods which require constant nurturing and attention. Which is the great thing about the truth: it stands very much on its own; and though some may think they have buried it, the truth has a pesky way of emerging from the tomb - no matter how well guarded - to the chagrin and shame of the warren.

May the truth prevail in your circumstances.

" . . .it is difficult to reason a man out of a position he has not reasoned himself into."

Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools . . . so G-d gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done . . . they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1).

Difficult indeed. Just one more example illustrating that truth reflects Truth.

The Soviet Union has been gone for about a quarter century. Unless they lived it, someone around 30 or younger would likely have no functioning memory of what institutional communism was, the oppression, the cost of dissidence, the piles of skulls, etc., making them susceptible or even gullible to the manipulation needed for communism to acquire adherents.

OpenID cailcorishev January 20, 2015 3:17 PM

Thanks, but I don't need a shrink.

If you've had extended personal dealings with a borderline, you might. Not necessarily a shrink, but it can be helpful to have an objective observer to remind you that you're not the crazy one. You mentioned documenting everything, which is good, because it gives you signposts in reality that you can reference later: "Yes, that really did happen; I didn't imagine it."

Without documentation or other people to keep you grounded in reality, a borderline can make a damn good try of convincing you that black is white.

Blogger natschuster January 20, 2015 3:18 PM

Modern liberals, IMHO, aren't really Communists. The main problem problem Marx had with Capitalism was that Management kept the profit produced by labor. He didn't like the fact that some people worked, and other people got the money. Communist countries all claim to be a worker's paradise. A common slogan in communist countries was "Those that don't work, don;t eat." Modern liberals have no problem giving money to people who don't work. They want to give more and more stuff to people who don't work. They seem to feel it is a sin to work. Maybe we need to coin a new name for modern liberals. Lazyists? Shiftlessists?

This has been enlightening. I was assuming she would eventually desire some kind of resolution or closure, but no, she's content with everything being fkd up as long as she doesn't have to make any decisions or effort either way.........not the woman I married long ago and shared many, mostly good years with........

I'd ask an attorney before seeing any psychologist, unless that psychologist is far, far away and is paid in cash.

Men seeing any kind of head worker can be castigated in court. Double standard? you betcha.

Cataline,
Who knows? Crazy is crazy. But she does have some intrinsic sense of self preservation. And I hope that suffices to avoid tje worst.

Cailcorishev,
I never suffered from the problem of thinking reality is not real. There are advantages to being mildly Aspie and having a high IQ. There was a semse of isolation for a while because I generally don't share my stuff so I thought maybe people on the periphery would buy into her bs, but it seems I
A) have frienfs who do know me well and
B) her own actions speak for themselves

There is something broken, but it is not fixable by earthly powers, and frankly, who knows, there may be an ultimately good purpose in fightimg this fight. Dramatic as it sounds, I do honestly think there is evil at work here. If it is in my ability to defeat it, (not alone of course, but aided by God) then I will.

Patrick,
As there are few men left, so with women. And of the few left, I rarely am able to feel much for them either. I am wired strange. Or maybe it's just that the corruption here is pervasive.

@Rabbi B: And your brother's not divorcing and suing for custody...why?

If the woman in question is crazy, just take the evidence you've documented to a reputable divorce attorney and start the process. There are legal solutions for all of that. It's not that hard if you have a good attorney and appropriate documentation. You can even request a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation.

@Rabbi B: "In the eyes of the state they are divorced. (It took no less than four months to finalize). However, there is not one document on which his name will be found."

OK. His name should be on the birth certificates. Has he not sued for custody of the children?

"There are a couple of Biblical injunctions which my brother simply will not transgress, even if that means severe consequences for him."

And what are those?

"So, he continues to appeal to a Higher Court."

Not to be sarcastic, but G-d tends not to interfere in legal issues here on the Earthly plane. He'd do better to use more mundane tactics.

Anonymous zen0 January 20, 2015 5:55 PM

@ natschuster A common slogan in communist countries was "Those that don't work, don;t eat."

That's a phrase more associated with the Christianity,of the Pauline Epistles.

Communism was "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs".

ie:

In a higher phase of communist society, after the enslaving subordination of the individual to the division of labor, and therewith also the antithesis between mental and physical labor, has vanished; after labor has become not only a means of life but life's prime want; after the productive forces have also increased with the all-around development of the individual, and all the springs of co-operative wealth flow more abundantly—only then can the narrow horizon of bourgeois right be crossed in its entirety and society inscribe on its banners: From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs![3][4][5]
