NFL divisional round

Good game so far in Foxboro. Ravens started hot, but settled down, and Brady has been picking apart the Baltimore secondary with his slot receivers. But the Ravens are getting some solid hits on Brady and that could slow down New England in the second half.

Ravens in the drivers seat unless Pats defense steps up. Edelman has a decent arm though.

Dick LeBeau resigned because of Joe Flacco. I wonder if he'll go to Arizona.

Short left passes to Gronk are not the medicine today. Hoodie needs to Hoodie just a little less.

The Ravens are really getting under Brady's skin.

Only 3 pts? That'll count as a stop.

Daniel,

Arizona is Pittsburgh West.

I bet he goes. Arians is there.

Baltimore and the points was a really good bet.

Actually, I think that taking the 'dog and the points for the whole weekend will turn out to be a good bet.

I know everyone here hates Belichek. I don't like him either.

But, that option pass from Edelman to Amendola was beautiful, and brought NE back.

Hoodie hoodying > Flacco flaccoing.

What did the Pats rush for, a centimeter?

I don't have a horse in the AFC; but, great game, have to hand it to Brady.

Patriots win by four points. Terrific game.

Turns out you were right, then Brady broke Montana's postseason TD record with the one they needed most.

Daniel,

14 yards!

And about LeBeau? Probably Arizona. Seems to be Pittsburgh West.

Brady won the game. He was hit like 10 times, I think. All Brady today. ELITE. GRITTY EFFORT BY EDELMAN!

LeBeau would screw up that Arizona defense. He should have retired 5 years ago. His zone blitz schemes have been figured out by most teams in the league.

Seattle, first with a foul, first with a TD...

All 4 QBs are showing they should be in these games, with Cam and the CP being the weakest link. We'll see after this game.

I thought both Brady and Flacco had exceptional games, but defense once again saving the day. It's easy to jump on the Brady won the game bandwagon, but his receivers and D really came through in the 2nd 1/2, especially the 4th qtr.

Newton already has an interception (He threw that ball at Sherman?) and a fumble. He gets credit for a solid TD drive, but his hand-off delivery is clumsy, pass accuracy is questionable, pass selection is abysmal (look at how many passes he makes to receivers behind or just past the line of scrimmage). Several 3-and-outs. I expect Seattle to gradually pull away.

Yeah, Cam's a bit shaky, but even Brady was for a bit...although a shaky Brady is still better than most NFL QB's....I'm not comparing the 2, I was just impressed with both QB performances in the AFC game.... maybe I'm being optimistic....I don't want Seattle to with cuz'.

1. I'm a Raiders fan...bad history....
2. I definitely didn't want to see a Seahawk vs. Ravens SB.....now I just don't want the Hawks to have a chance at being the firsth 3-peat, and the best way to prevent that is for them not to repeat......

I'm also pretty well lubricated at this point.............

should be "to win"...urp...

The last minute of the half was fun.

Brady broke Montana's record for most postseason touchdowns (and takes the lead for postseason passing yards from Peyton) today. What does he first say after the game?

"We could have done better in a bunch of places."

Great to see someone always looking for improvement. :)

Anonymous patrick kelly January 10, 2015 10:27 PM

Not looking good for CP......they're getting that deer in the headlights look.....crap...

Blogger Rantor January 10, 2015 11:06 PM

Wilson to Wilson TD followed by a Cam to Cam TD... Loving the symmetry. Seattle has this one wrapped up.

Anonymous Jonathan January 10, 2015 11:15 PM

Hawk fan but Newton deserved a closer game.

Anonymous Jack Amok January 11, 2015 12:51 AM

That was a blast.

The Steelers D was a force up until last year. So its hard to claim he should have quit prior to 2013.

I can't believe he doesn't want to go sit on the beach and sip Mai Tais or whatever though. I can't imagine wanting to put those kinds of hours in at 77.

Could somebody explain why the Panthers let Chancellor jump the line twice in a row. Can't a lineman just stand up take the foot to the shoulder/head region and draw a foul?

Anonymous Jack Amok January 11, 2015 1:55 AM

post-game press confi, Chacellor noticed the Panther's were getting really low to push against the D-Line, so he went for the hurdle. Surprised they didn't react to the first one though. I need to see another angle on the replay - sure looked like he blocked the second one that he was called for roughing. Seemed like took it off his stomach. Oh well.

But this Saturday night football stuff is great. Wake up tomorrow and there are more games.

Anybody here think that the Ravens would be allowed to hit Manning like they are hitting Bradley? I doubt it. And therein lies the key to Manning's success. I'm glad Bradley broke Montana's record. He deserves it.

Blogger sykes.1 January 11, 2015 7:48 AM

After what happened at the end of the Patriots/Ravens game, coaches should rethink the whole victory formation thing. It nearly cost NE the game. They got lucky that the Ravens punt returner decided to run off the seconds that NE should have.

Aside from that, a truly great game. Flacco is now established as one of the great quarterbacks, top three or four in the league.

What 2 or 3 QBs are above him?

Because I count 5 I would much rather have (Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Luck), and could debate Rivers, Roethlisberger, Romo, and Eli depending on the state of the rest of the team.
