Anti-theist murders Muslims

Isn't it amazing how often the actual news is contra the atheist narrative? Consider this comment from Brett when the news first broke of the shootings in North Carolina:

"white terrosrist Christian executes three Muslim students in cold blood. I cant help but think he was a fan of voxday..."

Now, Mr. Hicks may be a fan, but it seems unlikely:
A suspected radical atheist is in police custody after allegedly murdering three young Muslims in the North Carolina college town of Chapel Hill, media reports indicate. According to the British newspaper the Independent, the three Muslims, who were all from the same family, were in their home when a 46-year-old man identified by police as Craig Stephen Hicks gunned them down.
That being said, it will not be terribly surprising if Christians in the West are eventually observed killing Muslims. There certainly hasn't been any shortage of Muslims killing Westerners, both Christian and non-Christian, to say nothing of the Muslim slaughter of Christians in Africa and the Middle East.

Perhaps it was just a parking dispute. Or perhaps it is another step towards the Clash of Civilizations war that so many experts have been expecting for decades.

UPDATE: Apparently Mr. Hicks was not merely an atheist, but an aggressive anti-theist. "Included in his many Facebook ‘likes’ are the Huffington Post, Rachel Maddow, the Southern Poverty Law Center, Freedom from Religion Foundation, Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy,’ Neil deGrasse Tyson, Gay Marriage groups, and a host of anti-conservative/Tea Party pages."

So, atheists, how does it feel to know that Bill Maher is your leader?

Blogger njartist February 11, 2015 10:44 AM

This is off topic and I apologize; yet, Vox keeps reiterating the nature of argument or persuasion as either rhetoric or dialectic: the latter being logic and reason (if I am incorrectly phrasing this, I will gladly be corrected).

Steve Sailor wrote an interesting entry on esoteric or discursive writing. I consider this to be a must read.

One of the things that immediately came to mind is that this is one of the products of elite educational institutions. It is also dissembling without directly lying.

Blogger Marissa February 11, 2015 10:51 AM

njartist, this is a good article, "Danger of a Straussian Revival": Modern man’s main intellectual vice is his complacency. The elite consensus–atheism, utilitarianism, egalitarianism–he takes to be self-evident truth, and he dismisses all other views as “ignorance” unworthy of serious consideration. A standing rebuke to this complacency is the existence of great minds in the past, of men who were unarguably wise or ingenious who weren’t 21st century Westerners transplanted to other times and places. Now, suppose someone comes along to say that this is not true, an atheist Jew who has found the secret to reading the giants of the past “esoterically”, and, lo, he finds that they were all secretly pretty much atheist Jews just like him!

Come now Vox, it's obvious the man wasn't a true atheist. No true atheist would behave in such a fashion. Ergo factso, not an atheist.

Or, as hausfrau has stated, since it wasn't done in the name of atheism, then the crime cannot be attributed to atheism.

In actuality, he probably is unbalanced. I see no reason why unbalanced people cannot be drawn to the strident, militant atheism of Dawkins, Harris, et al.

And many reasons why an unbalanced mind would be.

A since of belonging to an elite club of the intellectually superior without having to be intellectually superior. The Utopian vision of a world without strife if only one could reorder the minds of others and remove the superstitions holding mankind back from its glorious destiny.

And it beats being a religious cultists, those people are crazy.

Blogger njartist February 11, 2015 11:08 AM

@ Marissa February 11, 2015 10:51 AM
True. and the "correct" interpretation of the esoteric meaning is determined and upheld by the power structure, religious or secular. This, of course, does not mean the interpreter was capable of deciphering the esoteric contents of the great literature: he may be the very sort from which the esoteric writers were protecting themselves. And so we spin.

Then we come to this:
Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Now turn that to the nature of reading and interpretation of the bible by the believer (under Divine guidance by degrees of milk to meat), the elect yet not saved, and the unholy.

And do not forget that the unholy have their own demonic spiritual guidance.

First reporting, no doubt, he gets labeled a Christian with any facts to the contrary being called a right wing rumor or smear.

If that narrative breaks down, then they will try to both warn/provoke a "backlash" with a frontlash about Christian hate and stereotyping of atheists, while decrying the white, American culture of hate and xenophobia that plants such ideas in impressionable minds.

Atheism is one of the bloodiest religious dogmas in history. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc. were all atheists, it's obligatory under Communism. I'm an atheist myself, but I don't have any illusions that atheism somehow cures man's propensity to slaughter his neighbors.

What is the point of Facebook if they remove your page the moment you actually do something interesting?

What it means is that Facebook has a profiling app which can be accessed quickly or is ongoing. Facebook requires a username/password in order to access; so, who has immediate access to the page once the perp is in jail; do the police demand such access as part of the arrest; is one of the first acts of the defense lawyer to check the perp's page; possibly but why take down an atheist, left leaning page on that basis? Someone else is protecting the narrative: esoteric meaning of actions.

The fatal conceit of atheists is that they're different from everyone else.

The lesson of Mr Hicks is that reality refuses to conform to their delusion.

Atheists are every bit as capable as anyone else of killing other people over differences which do not rise to the level of being interesting, let alone justifying deadly violence.

The idea that atheism is a solution to anything at all is a self-serving fantasy which aptly demonstrates the irrationality of the claimants to modern rationality.

Brett is instructive, assuming he's not a Poe.

When his anti-Christian prejudice is shown to be irrational, he immediately switches to anti-white, anti-man, and anti-gun. He also assumes a "Shame on you for taking this serious tragedy so lightly!" posture, even though he was the one who took it lightly to begin with in his gleeful "I cant help but think he was a fan of voxday..." comment and his faux-nonchalant "no big deal" comment.

IM2L844 - Krul, Brett is one of those people who simply doesn't want to know the truth.

Yes, and his behavior in three comments is so typical and so bluntly inept that it is a useful example.

Consider, the news story at first appeared to confirm his prejudice against white, Christian men with guns. So he brought it up here in his first gloating comment.

When the fact of Hicks' atheism emerged, it immediately became clear that Brett had blundered, making him look like a moron. Also, far from casting Christians and VP readers in a bad light, the story appeared to cast atheist leftists in a bad light. So Brett's next two comments are two very different attempts to distract from his blunder and from how bad this looks for atheists and leftists.

In the first, he tries to distract by blanket accusation of white, gun-owning Christians and making light of his blunder ("no big deal"). In the second, he tries to distract by feigning moral outrage. He also tries desperately to shift the focus from Hicks' atheism to his whiteness and maleness.

I remember seeing similar behavior when the truth about Marion Zimmer Bradley came out and trolls came out of the woodwork to try to shift the focus onto Vox's claimed "moral degeneracy".

Compared with other racial and ethnic groups, African-Americans are among the most likely to report a formal religious affiliation, with fully 87% of African-Americans describing themselves as belonging to one religious group or another

I agree we do need to protect people of color from whites. I have a couple of good solutions. First, stop forcing nonwhites to uproot their families and immigrate into areas populated by whites. It is too dangerous for them. Second, in areas where non-whites are already living next to whites, segregate the whites into their own neighborhoods, schools, jobs, etc., so that they cannot harm any more nonwhites.

2) the mares shrieked and screeched loudly
3) they called the shooter a Christian
Few things piss off a militant atheist like being called a Christian. Angry Atheist was going to shoot someone eventually over some trivial disagreement. What happens when the LGBT folks realize that Islam is going to kill them all?

We already know how they'll react, from similar examples of leftists being raped and mugged by other types of vibrant individuals: the leftist apologizes to his attackers for what white male Christian society made them do.

Presumably there would be some number of killings that would change their minds, but it's a pretty large number. One casualty here and there is collateral damage (SJW martyrdom?) in the war against the real enemy.

Dawkins can't blame it on Christians, so guns are suddenly jumping into an Atheist's hand and shooting people!
OR
Atheists cannot be trusted to have guns.
