All-Purple, All-Day

Er, never mind. I have no idea how I ended up on an old article about AD's contract. I thought they tore up the old one and gave him a new one, but apparently all that has happened is that he's back for OTAs.

Bah, was hoping all the rumors of him coming to AZ were true!

Wishing for a Vikings Super Bowl win must be like rooting for the return of the Einherjer to the field of battle.

That is an old article from 2011. No new deal.

> That is an old article from 2011. No new deal.

The Vikings played hardball with Peterson and predictably won as he was never going to leave $12.75M on the table. "Basically it's time for me to come in and test the waters and re-familiarize myself with our offense and the direction they're trying to go in," he told ESPN's Josina Anderson. So all the drama over Peterson feeling scorned by the organization and wanting his 2016 contract guaranteed was just hot air. The Vikings did not adjust his deal. Coming off a year of rest and in a RB-friendly Norv Turner offense, Peterson is firmly in the top-5 fantasy pick discussion. NFL Network's Albert Breer said Tuesday the Vikings' offensive staff sees Peterson as a "350-carry centerpiece."

As far as I can tell at this point, there is no NEW deal, but the deal is that the old deal IS the deal.

Or not.

Deal with it.

Oh but the 'ladies' love their jewelry. Nah, not a shot to the split, just... chuckling. A bit at your hopes, but not too meanly. I had the Broncos through... how many failings? Before I just quit the game entirely anyway. I think they eventually made it to a win? Don't know, thought I heard, don't care now. Ride that horse, hope as you will. And may "she" enjoy the ring... if it's there.

Why is it AD?

Anonymous RiverCityTrader June 02, 2015 8:18 PM

Dear God! Minneapolis of full of things worth fondly remembering... and you chose the Vikings? Maybe all the bad things they say about you are true.

The only possible excuse for that is Bud Grant and Fran Tarkington. The franchise has fallen on hard times since. Full disclosure: from Wisconsin.

Blogger Gordon June 02, 2015 8:57 PM

hah! they made you look!

Man, I feel for you. It must suck to care about the Vikings. I live a mile or so from the remnants of the Metrodome and I care so little about them.

All Day - nickname his dad gave him because he could go "all day"

Apparently there was a disturbance in the Tweeterverse.
Confusion abounds.

the NFL is never off topic.

I was never in doubt about his return. Cases are _very_ rarer where money doesn't rule in such stand-offs.

At the risk of confirming that I'm a clueless gamma, as opposed to staying silent and having people only *suspect* I'm a clueless gamma...

...what the heck are you talking about?

"...what the heck are you talking about?"

The NFL. Adrian Peterson and the Vikings.

Blogger VFM 188* June 03, 2015 8:30 AM

Ummmm...okay, I know what the NFL is (being a sentient human being), and I know who the Vikings are (being a sentient American)...but I don't know who Adrian Peterson is.

And? So? (Look, do I have the read sports pages to understand? Because if I have to read the sports pages, you can just tell me go away, okay? All right, go ahead....)

Go away

Thanks for mentioning of Vikings and Minnesota. Did not have a clue what an AD was. What is an OTA?

Anonymous zen0 June 03, 2015 9:50 AM

> What is an OTA?

Organized Team Activities. Sort of like Spring Training only in the Summer.
Interesting factoid: A Viking player died during one in 2001.

> but I don't know who Adrian Peterson is....

FFS

Whew. (At least he didn't say Shut up, Tad.)

Thanks for correctly using AD instead of AP, even if it was an errant post.
