The first to die

But it is very unlikely that Keith Broomfield will be the last American to die fighting the neo-caliphate of the Islamic State:
Hundreds of people turned up in the Kurdish town of Kobani to bid farewell to Keith Broomfield before his body was handed over to family at the Mursitpinar gate, said Idriss Naasan.

Broomfield, from Massachusetts, died on June 3 in battle in a Syrian village near Kobani, making him likely the first U.S. citizen to die fighting alongside Kurds against the Islamic State group.

He had joined the People's Protection Units known as the YPG on Feb. 24 under the nom de guerre Gelhat Rumet. The YPG are the main Kurdish guerrilla battling the Islamic State group in Syria.
It wasn't even two years ago when the usual anklebiters were scoffing at the idea of a revived caliphate. And yet, an American has already died fighting it.

Unimportant in the big picture, though I hope he killed more than one of those Camel Jockies before taking a dirt nap. Hadjis are predictable and easy to defeat once you put your mind to it.

I'm more concerned about China and how to stop them in an air and naval campaign than I am about the Islamic world sans Iran or Pakistan right now.

Let me introduce you to the last American who will die fighting for the Islamic State.

He will have opinions on Nate's obsession with bourbon.

I read with pleasure a story two days ago about 3 former U.S. Army buddies now fighting with Asyrrian Christian militias in Iraq. They were so happy, and their warrior ethos really shone with a lot of pride, especially as they compared their mission now with their mission with the Army. And, as you can imagine, they are held in very high regard by the Christians they fight for.

In Grosvenor Square, in London, there is a small statue honoring Eagle Squadron, an all ex-USAAF squadron of the RAF before the U.S. joined the war. It seems in every generation there are not only Americans who know when a fight is right, but who have the courage to do something about it.

We European descended peoples should stop dying or Middle Easterners and their ideologies entirely but given he was an adult, a volunteer and the Kurds aren't bad folk, well I can't say anything negative.

God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). Assuming this man died fighting evil, and especially an evil that beheads (and worse) Arab Christians (including children), then I thoroughly applaud him. No greater love has any man than this, that he lays down his life for a friend.

I'd say this is a good bit of evidence that civilization-level concerns are beginning to trump national ones in the West. These few crusaders are not enough to prove that, but they may be the 'cloud as small as a man's hand' rising from the sea that signifies the rapid approach of a drought-ending rainstorm. (Ahab had better get under cover, if you follow the analogy)

While we note the re-emergence of muslim ambitions at a widespread caliphate, and the corresponding rise in persecution and murder of Christians, as the backdrop to this man's death; we ought to acknowledge that this re-emergence is a direct consequence of US and allied meddling in the region, and not merely an unintended consequence but a necessary result of selecting, training, arming, and funding the most virulent radical extremists they could find.

The man died fighting the proxy forces of his own government.

His revolutionary forbears would relate, methinks. The proper identification of their real enemies would also not have been lost on them.

Sounds like someone with too much white privilege failing to appreciate the Arab Spring bringing diversity and democracy and peace, while simultaneously standing up to big oil and climate change deniers. He was also a western backed soldier so stood for misogyny, bigotry and rape.

or did the Washington Post say something different? Lost track really. Wasn't Assad the bad guy with WMD's gassing innocent children who wanted nothing but Obama to liberate their lands?

Deus Vult, yes, Amen, but how to fight the good fight?

got to paraphrase again; if you were to sign up now, there, right there, how do you know you wouldn't be betrayed by the State Department, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Turkey? Left for as dead as a Libyan ambassador or a Navy Seal 6 type team? Burned for nothing?

Thing is, I hope he was fighting to help the Kurds. You see, Western civilization isn't worth defending. Men are outright objects of scorn and lawfare. Effeminacy is the rule nowadays. True, Islam is barbaric in the western eye. And backwards, as the Elites would have it.

But their men produce testosterone in a full measure, and the effeminate manginas of this culture don't. We have a de facto warrior class here in the USA. There are already signs of true discontent amongst them. They're being asked to die for a perverted country that hates them. It's that plain.

What will be the outcome of all of this? Men like Broomfield will srep out in the light of day to try to help. What most people don't know is that even if he had survived, he couldn't come back to the US. He would be jailed for something. Warriors despise perversion. And this Country is perverted. At some point, the decent men will become disgusted, and will simply shelter in place with their families.

The real losers in all of this will be women. As the civil situation declines here, single women are really going to be vulnerable. Problem is, who will risk their future to help a feminist? Best let them meet their fate, alone in the dust, howling for help.

"Deus Vult, yes, Amen, but how to fight the good fight?"

Our first fight is here.

Understand this: western civ....is dead.

It died in the 20th century. What we live in now is NOT western civ. It is the antiwest, a horrible shuffling zombie that wears the skin of western civ but stands in opposition to everything western civ was. Once this realisation sets in, One can relinquish ones attachments to the system.

We cannot be conservatives anymore. This would imply there is something to conserve. We must become radicals and revolutionaries. The antiwest is the enemy not just of us but of everyone and we must oppose it.

Where to start? Shed any lingering affection for the current system. It cannot be redeemed. As christ says, strike the mote from out own eyes so we may see clearly. Then we can face the dangers of Islam effectively.

I think the part about the Kurds not being bad is an exaggeration. Currently they are not beheading Christians, but that is more to do with following their interests than anything else. They were major players in the Assyrian genocide, that is they butchered about 20-30% of a few Arab Christian tribes at the behest of the Turks, in the first part of last century, and unlike the Germans I doubt they have become all that much softer and cuddlier since then.

Imo outsiders should be very, very wary of declaring any side good in these Middle Eastern conflicts. That region is not forgiving towards nice people.

And I have to doubt the coalition forces will to effectively put a serious hurt on CIA-ISIS. Wave after wave of massive convoys. Parade after parade of captured American military hardware and Toyota's. Yet not one highway of death from above. Doesn't make any sense. Well, it does, if you are willing to go in that direction.

Blogger Plump Pleasant Plumber June 12, 2015 1:32 PM

Say what you will about the Kurds.....but they haven't been emasculated by feminists. Watch them go out and fight in their home made armor. Watch the Kurdish fighters describe the ISIS fighters as heavily drugged to be courageous. One fighter said that they would watch them stumble about, and then go ahead and shoot them like dogs.

Yessir, the Kurds are out of murderous stock. So what. Don't really care. That's just a really efficient survival tactic. Here's the thing......an tone with any common sense can see that loyalties in the Middle East are transient. Western values are worthless. The Tribe is everything.

Broomfield died fighting ISIS. At least he knew where his balls were. There will be others that this government can't stop.

"They havent been emasculated by feminists"

Yet they have gender quotas:

And female frontline soldiers that make up to 30-35% of the force:

For now with the aid of US airstrikes they are doing well. But they are just as much part of the Cathedral as western feminists. Except without the victim ideology and warlike attitude. At least the syrian kurds.

They seem more effective than the iraqi army. But perhaps as a result of memetic infection eroding their traditional patriarchal society they will eventually weaken as they eat their own seedcorn.
