GGinParis's salute to #GamerGate

It was inspiring to meet GamerGaters from several different countries and to discover how determined all of them were. It was both a privilege and a pleasure to be able to meet everyone there. I think these meetups are important because they help reinvigorate those who are getting discouraged and inspire those who are thinking about getting involved but haven't made the leap yet.

Nice show of camaraderie. It's like glue.

It would be nice for someone to put a picture comparing this gathering with a SJW gathering. SJW's do not even look like they belong in the same planet.

Anonymous Soga July 12, 2015 5:39 PM

Looking great, everybody. Wish I could've been there, even if as a fly on the wall.

Anonymous Poli_Mis July 12, 2015 5:40 PM

There can be no denying that something is building. Remember, it was The Left that were first to use the Internet to attack and to organize. Then more from our side started to show up online and the challenge was met. Now, people are organizing in meat space and they can't possibly phone in threats to all of the gatherings.

Here ya go.

The meter is to see if they're carriers.

Anonymous Jourdan July 12, 2015 6:12 PM

Amen to that!

The Internet is great, but there is no substitute for real world friends and camaraderie. Great job, everyone.

NEEDS MORE SPACEBUNNY

The thing about SJW meetups is that they are completely joyless. I used to work in an SJW-heavy company and was invited to a lot of their gatherings. They usually turned into bitch sessions - just gossiping and harping about other people. The only laughter was at someone else's expense.

OpenID thenoisyrogue July 12, 2015 6:30 PM

The one thing that hits me when I read about the meeting, see the photos, and watch the video is damn ... I wish I was able to be there.

Perhaps we could use this as a starting template to organise similar meetups of like-minded folk around the world. I would immediately put my hand up to help organise something in Melbourne, Australia. Not sure how many Aussies there are here though.

This is Chanology all over again.

As Nate mentioned on Friday evening in Austin:

There are LOTS of folks out there that agree with us, but we have tapped into a community and can help each other out. Hopefully, those others that agree can find us, or someone else like us, so they realize that they are not the only ones out there.

I attended the Roosh event in DC (then trI'd to get to the Sad Puppies event, but it seemed to be over when I arrived at the venue at 11pm). It was a great event. 40-50 like-minded guys of all ages filled nearly every seat in the room. The lecture was solid (Roosh material combined to fit the current times,) and the Q&A was even better.

The greatest part was meeting so many like-minded men in the same room. Not all of them had the same goals, some were more interested in Game tips while some wanted to know what was next for the Patriarchy. But all shared a solid masculine vision and all thoroughly enjoyed being able to speak freely with each other on things like r-vs-K and the current depravity of the US culture.

The event moved it's way to the upstairs bar where festivities continued and Game was put down. The DC girls responded as only they can. Festivities eventually moved to U-Street, however I took my leave before that and began my drive back home.

Apparently there's plenty of wheelchair access to library internet in or around Marshfield. Within the first few hours of being posted to boot.

Not quite an Arthur Chu bomb scare, but a worthy effort nonetheless. Thankfully, no Asian or Persian women were harmed in the attempt.

Blogger MendoScot July 12, 2015 7:12 PM

Interesting, the bunch that collected behind. And then dispersed.

Blogger LL July 12, 2015 7:50 PM

I reliably hear from the SJWs that GG & Rabid Puppies & Ilk are dangerous, misogynists, racists, homophobic Neo-Nazis. So one can only assume all the women & people of color & gays were raped and/or beaten at these events. No? Well, must have been a transcontinental off day, apparently.

I love the camaraderie & bonhomie I have seen in the pics & I'm always pleased to see the lovely mein of Spacebunny, sockpuppet and imaginary status, notwithstanding

Well done Vox

Is there going to be a Manifesto issued, like the Paris Commune Manifesto?

You know, something for historians to refer to?

In a small cafe in Paris, July 2015, a small group of people gathered to eat cheese and meat delicacies and drink wine. But this was not just any group of people, but the vanguard of a movement that was destined to sweep up the world in a virtual reign of terror, the like of which had never been seen since the time of the Paris Commune....

Something like that needs a Manifesto, n'est pas?

Blogger Keith Glass July 12, 2015 8:11 PM

Yeah, the Puppies event went 7 to 10-ish, when people started leaving. We had maybe 25 or so show up. The venue was a bit loud, and they stuffed a birthday party back in our room. . . John C. Wright and his wife L. Jagi Lamplighter Wright made it around 9-ish. . .

Blogger David-093 July 12, 2015 8:44 PM

That is some impressive CGI bringing Spacebunny to life, she looks almost real.

Blogger maniacprovost July 12, 2015 8:48 PM

After the Hacker Manifesto and the UNAbomber, the whole manifesto thing jumped the shark. Maybe it could make a comeback, BUT

This is the 21st century. A group of people do not need to agree on a common platform and nail it to the church door or spread libels in taverns. Each cause, plank, and meme can live and die on its own in the digital jungle.

Blogger Tommy Hass July 12, 2015 9:20 PM

Fuck, I should've maybe attended....

Vox, you are a good speaker. Imagine my suprise when Mike also turned out to sound higher than his built suggested, lol.

And Milo being blond is weird.

I was being kind of toungue-in-cheek, but you have supplied the Non- Manifesto right there.

Well done.

Manifesto? We don' need no stinkin' manifesto.

Are you allowed to drink alcohol or fail to rape unveiled women?

And forego the beheadings?

If so , maybe you should have.

Damn. The Dread Ilk lives. Hopefully these meet ups result in the creation of some good video games. Speaking of GamerGate, there's a bunch of reviews on the Internet Movie Database for the Law & Order SVU GamerGate episode, The Intimidation Game, the episode so bad it's good!

I do not know if I need to do this, but I will anyway.

Vox's speech was no where near Henry the V St. Crispin's Day speech, but the most important thing he expressed was that Liberty was above political divisions.

True Liberty. Not the liberty of forcing people to bake you a cake, or serve in the Imperial Army. Liberty of the heart and mind, without Statist intervention.

Pardon me for being Obvious, but sometimes I see a necessity for it.

Reminder that we have on good authority (McRapey, Futrelle) that she doesn't exist.

Cheers to GGinParis, from NZ.

Oh, we happy few... the truth is that although we tend to think of SJWs as being of The Left, that's just there current host. They are at heart petty tyrants who infect any political ideology they can in order to leverage it into power to lord it over others. They've been on The Right before (and ironically they use the legacy of that to criticize the Right now) and will be again. A generation from now, one of the things The Left will be criticized for will be what the SJWs did in their name.

Really enjoying all this stuff. It's like I'm sitting back here trying to do the Full Bane and cry from all the camaraderie.

Award for Best Description of a You Tube Video starring Vox and/or Nero:

"This video doesn't endorse those shitlords' opinions.

Trigger warning : jokes and distaste at the expense of others. If you feel like there might be a misogynist in your vicinity, please contact the closest tumblr center for a quick ego-validation and a free lollipop."

Man, all this talk of drinking made me think of Jamie this morning and here you are.

How you doing? How many kids you have now?

Ugh. I live barely 10 minutes from the Gare de Lyon, and I missed the whole deal, surfing over the GG news, since I'm not a gamer. Or not since those after hours Marathon marathons at the office in 1995, or playing Crash Bandicoot with my daughters on the PS1...long time gone, now.

Anyway, I'll try to be more attentive next time, since it would've been pleasure to shake your hand and buy you a round for standing up to the would-be thugs & thought police. That's aces in my book.

Poli_Mis: My observations, based on 27 years on the net:

Libertarian and right wing people embrace technology right out of the gate. The left stays back until they control it (compare USENET and Facebook.) When the control is too much, there is a revolt, an exodus, and a resettlement. Then years later when the entryists have a foothold in the new space, the cycle repeats.

Most of the shit that comes out of McRapey's mouth would stay there if he was on a soapbox, not in a hugbox. He was a different cat on newsgroups in the 90's, because people could call him on his bullshit.

Anonymous cheddarman July 13, 2015 1:17 PM

The thing about SJW meetups is that they are completely joyless.

And suffused with fear. SJW's live in fear of saying, doing or thinking "the wrong thing". (Wrongthink!) Sarah Hoyt wrote about the pervasive fear that existed in the sci fi publishing world before the Pushback began. Then #GG happened, SP happened, RP happened...and we happy band of Ilk and vile faceless minions came on the scene.....

Anonymous Miserman July 13, 2015 8:12 PM

It is good to know that those of us who oppose SJWs and their attached ideology of feminism are not alone. Many men are alone in their individual struggle and are not able to connect in person with other like-minded men. Their writings have very few readers and even their closet friends are nowhere near understanding their struggle or capable of supporting them. It is good and encouraging to see and hear guys like this celebrating. Fight on we will.
