An absence of evidence

Paul Craig Roberts is suspicious about the contradiction between the evidence and the mysterious vanishing confession in the Boston Bomber trial:
I have been contacted by attorney John Remington Graham, a member in good standing of the bar of the Minnesota Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. He informs me that acting in behalf of Maret Tsanaeva, the aunt of the accused Tsamaev brothers and a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic where she is qualified to practice law, he has assisted her in filing with the US District Court in Boston a pro se motion, including an argument of amicus curiae, and an affidavit of Maret Tsarnaeva. The presiding judge has ordered that these documents be included in the formal record of the case so they will be publicly accessible. The documents are reproduced below.

The documents argue that on the basis of the evidence provided by the FBI, there is no basis for the indictment of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The FBI’s evidence clearly concludes that the bomb was in a black knapsack, but the photographs used to establish Dzhokhar’s presence at the marathon show him with a white knapsack. Moreover, the knapsack lacks the heavy bulging appearance that a knapsack containing a bomb would have.

As readers know, I have been suspicious of the Boston Marathon Bombing from the beginning. It seems obvious that both Tsamaev brothers were intended to be killed in the alleged firefight with police, like the alleged perpetrators of the Charlie Hebdo affair in Paris. Convenient deaths in firefights are accepted as indications of guilt and solve the problem of trying innocent patsies.

In Dzhokhar’s case, his guilt was established not by evidence but by accusations, by the betrayal of his government-appointed public defender Judy Clarke who declared Dzhokhar’s guilt in her opening statement of her “defense,” by an alleged confession, evidence of which was never provided, written by Dzhokhar on a boat under which the badly wounded youth lay dying until discovered by the boat owner and hospitalized in critical condition.
I'm always mildly suspicious whenever the alleged perpetrators are found quickly before being killed in a lethal shootout. If only the police could track down missing children so effortlessly.

And suspicion would appear to be justified considering "he could not find a single attorney in the state of Massachusetts who would sponsor his appearance before the Federal District Court in Boston."

What is it that they fear? What is it that they know?

The Boston Marathon job is a particularly interesting case because there is a play-by-play photographic record of the event. Dave McGowan, a pro photographer, has done a detailed analysis of those photos, picking out the diversionary "Scream Queen", the crisis actors, the fake injuries, the 'contractors', the non-existent crowd of victims, the so-called "bomb" damage, etc. "They" seem to be getting sloppier with each new job since Jackie did JFK- maybe an indication of their decreasing IQ? Or maybe hubris? Or both? They can count on the mouth-breathers to an enormous, almost unbelievable, extent, but even that has its limits.

They know the prosecution's story doesn't hold a femto-molecule's worth of water. This is the result of their piss-poor production values, noted above. A century and a half of practice with photography and broadcasting, yet they still can't get it right. Perhaps they never will.

Yeah...no. Don't put any weight on Clarke's admissions. They're just tactical. She's an anti-death penalty "activist" lawyer, for whom anything that doesn't result in execution is a win. One of the ways to make that work out, when the evidence is pretty compelling that client is guilty, is to admit guilt and work on mitigation, remorse, "my boy, if I had one, would have looked just like...," As for Roberts, while he has his virtues, he's not an attorney, he's got something of a rep, and I can't think of a single good reason for a Massachusetts lawyer to bet his license and livelihood on what he might do. If he wanted to get something into a courtroom, the way to do that would be to hire an attorney to do it for him.

Forrest Bishop; you mean the narrative of the religion of peace? Or the narrative that immigrants are just nice kids like ours--in fact indistinguishable from them--looking to get ahead by going to school and living "the American Dream? "

This story couldn't possibly have been produced by the keepers of The Narrative since it contradicts The Narrative so blatantly.

A better explanation is that the Tsarnaev kids were guilty as charged but in the rush to get the thing to trial under the watchful eyes of the whole nation, there were simply a few sloppy procedural mistakes.

Since our judicial system is so dysfunctional that sloppy procedural mistakes can derail an open and shut case, nobody's anxious to draw attention to them.

Nate, depends on what the goal of the OP would be. If it's drumming up support of the police state, then the patsy was properly chosen. Seems to me that if "a 20 something white kid named Anderson or Johansson" were to be used, it would be with firearms use and not an explosive device.

What makes more sense... we've been wondering all over the world sticking our butts into people's faces and we have killed millions of innocent people over the decades... and some of those people have gotten really pissed and started hitting back at us whatever way they can.

or...

Super secret double plus under cover conspiracy to have fake attacks so we can build up a massive police state.

The great thing about conspiracy theory... is history supports it. and looking back... its the conspiracy theory that almost always makes the most sense 40 years later.

On the button. What taints this, however, is PCR's well known penchant for everything with government being something of a conspiracy. A lot of what FedGov screws up is not conspiracy, but simply incompetence. I don't know which it is here, but elements of both seem present.

Different patsies for different purposes, or serving different factions of the Deep State.

Anonymous ThirdMonkey VFM #337 August 19, 2015 8:24 AM

Yeah, Fedgov isn't smart enough to pull this off. They don't need anything elaborate to continue to feed the narrative. As long as we are fighting them "over there" while simultaneously turning a blind eye to them coming over here, they just have to sit back and let it happen. That the FBI knew it was going to happen is the most likely scenario. And then the populace gets stirred up, and we go kill some more of them "over there" so that we don't have to fight them over here. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Blogger dc.sunsets August 19, 2015 8:32 AM

Which is worse:
1. A world of served-up certainty where comfort and confidence stem from embracing all the "news?"
2. A world of pervasive unknown and unknowable where worry and paranoia stem from recognizing that nothing "we're" told is real?

And if this is a false dichotomy, then has A) the balance shifted since the age of mass dissemination of information by mass media in the era of the mass political system, or B) has it always been this way since the dawn of time?

Left-collectivists (including the neocon Trotskyites under Bush-II) would have us believe that there is no bedrock reality, and that reality is literally what those in power deem it. There is no male and female. There is no biologically-determined sex. There is no difference between cultures or between people. All is clay for the molding.

The very suggestion of this narrative confirms that the sea in which I swim is of pervasive falsehood. Truly is the Earth (and its organized systems of human coercion) the province of the Prince of Lies.

Charles Hugh Smith nailed it when he said, "Certainty sells better than hedged hesitancy," and the primitive minds with which we work still prefer a certain lie to an honest "I don't know."

Blogger Tom Kratman August 19, 2015 8:35 AM

Takin a look: There is a difference, perhaps lost on you, between "disqualify" and "observe that others might be leery for good reason." Contemplate the difference. Or were you referring to Clarke? If so, stop being silly; it is not disqualification to point out fairly standard legal tactics.

Blogger dc.sunsets August 19, 2015 8:39 AM

A lot of what FedGov screws up is not conspiracy, but simply incompetence.

Some of the "screw up" is surely unintended consequences, but it is a grave error to see the FedGov as a monolith of single mind.

It is a vast, complex and clumsy tool, and is employed by innumerable factions, from tiny and weak to monstrous and near-omnipotent, the latter still a heterogeneous suspension of Deep State elements who share some purposes and compete over others.

What we see is largely a homogenized product of all these different (and often competing) aims, some of which cancel each other out when viewed as a whole, but when split out individually deliver EXACTLY what was intended. This is why legislation now runs to thousands of pages. The result may be a morass like the "Affordable" Care Act, but hidden in plain sight are payoffs and ripoffs too numerous to catalog.

Anonymous basementhomebrewer August 19, 2015 8:42 AM

This one really doesn't fit a common narrative. If they were to stage something they would love to stage a "right-wing white supremacist" as the terrorist. Then they could further justify the domestic police state and argue that they need more surveillance powers. This instance, as others have pointed out, hurt much of their narrative when it comes to the ROP and their immigration dreams.

Blogger dc.sunsets August 19, 2015 8:55 AM

@26
Patience. The "justify police state" program goes with what is ripe, while continuing to fish for useful idiots along other narratives.

I strongly suspect that if one were to dig deeply into any rally or meeting of a "white supremacist" group over the last 30 years, if 20 people showed up either 19 or all 20 would be on the gov't payroll.

The scary part is that "white separatist, black separatist, LGBT separatist, etc." grouping is actually the likeliest Narrative to evolve from the homogeneous swamp of "we are the world."

This means that the defenders of the old WATW narrative will have actual people to entrap. I'm reminded that those who lead from the front tend to get hit.

There doesn't need to be an intended narrative push. An op only needs to displace some other story in the news cycle for it to get a greenlight.

What story or stories got buried as a consequence of this pressure cooker bomb I wonder.

I find it sad that a pressure cooker bomb made into the national news. I'm tempted to say it only made it because it exploded in Boston. If it exploded in Gary Indiana and even if it killed more people it wouldn't have been mentioned.

Anonymous ticticboom August 19, 2015 9:34 AM

Truth is an insignificant sacrifice on the altars of ambition and ideology for these people, so I'll take anything they say with more than a grain of salt.

Plus, the Feds tend to purge the competent in favor of those loyal only to theit patrons. A lot wrong in this case is easily explained by someone with an important job being a useless hack whose only qualification id a dog-like devotion to his master.

And Clarke is the perfect example of the rabbit mentality that no one should ever face the consequences of his actions. She'll say or do anything in pursuit of that goal.

You see, this is why I'm only so much of a fan of Vox Day. Sometimes he says amazingly insightful things, and then sometimes he veers off into conspiracy land like this.

I really, really don't see how the Tsarnev brothers helps the "we need a police state" narrative. *Two* guys, whom the existing law enforcement establishment were aware of and did nothing about, bombed a bunch of marathon runners.

Lone wolf perpetrators aren't a good target for a police state, because lone wolf types don't make waves in the system that a police force can zone in on the way an organized conspiracy or a gang does. That's why the Shoe Bomber got through, but the organized terrorist attacks didn't. Police forces aren't good at stopping individuals who decide to do violent things before the fact, much the same way that the US Army isn't all that good at fighting 4th generation warfare.

tl:dr This scenario is simply not a convenient one for pushing a police state narrative he way an organized terrorist attack would have been,

Blogger dc.sunsets August 19, 2015 9:54 AM

Two "terrorists" are a needle in a haystack.
You are physically vulnerable unless "we" sift all haystacks (drift net fishing) for threats.

This is the rationale for erecting the Panopticon; only by stripping all men and women naked and making all walls transparent to the inquiries of Power can we do our jobs and assure you of your physical safety.

I thought it was pretty obvious what these events, true or fake, rationalize.

Don't forget that Congressional testimony (the leading indicator of tyranny's next step) proposed recently to reverse almost two decades of legal acquiescence to PGP-level strong encryption.

They were working with spooks from the US Government on many issues and thought they were sanctioned to do whatever they thought they were doing, possibly participating in a drill???

They had no fear and were blatant about everything, and the government was hell bent on killing them both so they could never talk.

They also cut the throat of the survivor to keep him from yelling out "I'm a patsy" al la Oswald.

I didn't want to believe it was staged, because as McGowan says, you'd feel like a real jerk if you went around saying people were actors and traitors and they turned out to be really dead or amputees. But his expose of the photos is pretty damning. I think occasionally he reads a bit much into them -- you can't expect people to act logically or remember well in a crisis, so it's understandable if someone's claims about when he jumped over a fence don't match the pictures -- but overall he brings up some things that are hard to explain.

Why did all the shrapnel go horizontally? Where are all the detached limbs people claimed to see lying around? Why are the paper and plastic signs that were a few feet away untouched? Why did doctors who ran in to help people with spurting wounds have no blood on their clothes afterwards? Why were many onlookers, seconds after the blast, looking up at the same point on a building behind them? I went looking at sites like Snopes for counter-explanations, and found nothing much.

We know they do training exercises of that sort -- and probably should. We know they dress people up for those exercises with Hollywood effects to look like they have fatal wounds and missing limbs. McGowan links to pictures of such actors from those exercises. So all they needed to do here was run the exercise, but in a public place, late in the race after most of the crowd had left so they'd have room to work, and have the actors stay in character until off the stage. It didn't need more than a few dozen people in on it, 100 at the most. Far fewer than 9/11 or the moon landing, so if you have any doubts about those, you ought to be willing to look at this one.

Blogger Sad Puppy August 19, 2015 10:48 AM

Anonymous Angry August 19, 2015 10:51 AM

Look, the only narrative that matters is "is it good for the Jews?"

The Tsarnaevs are simply a small link in a very large chain, a chain of Muslim migration into the West that has gotten even bigger since 9/11. There are more Muslims living in the United States today than there were on 9/11. The question is, why?

Well, to create the illusion that Israel and America have a common enemy and a common solution to that enemy. Israel needs America to destabilize and destroy its neighbors. To sell Americans on that idea, it needs to show that Muslims are a threat to both nations. To do that, America needs lots of Muslims inside US borders, where, odds are, terrorist attacks will either emerge organically, be goaded by the authorities, or engineered through patsies. In any case, Muslim immigration facilitates terrorism in the West, an immigration that has not halted.

So America fights Israel's battles for it, which creates more refugees, asylum seekers and enemy combatants, who then use the immigration system to export themselves to America, where they commit terrorist acts, which then proves what kind of threat Muslims are, which then requires close collaboration with Israel to help destroy Israel's neighbors, which leads to more refugees, asylum seekers and enemy combatants...wash, rinse and repeat.

This process will continue until the entire middle east has been either killed or exported to America and Europe.

This is how you get Chechens in America in the first place, where all logic dictates that this sort of immigration should never be allowed. Yet, if this immigration were eliminated, no solution to Israel's problem would emerge. Israeli's would be alone in handling their problems and America would not be a dumping ground for Islamic terrorists.

The only thing that stinks is the guy getting shot after a four hour interview in his kitchen. That was tying up loose ends. It was probably like all the other terrorists that the govt has caught. I have not seen a disaster drill with actual moulage since before 2000. More recent ones they might as well just transfer the paper tags to the hospital instead of attaching them to people. It annoys me that they think they are prepared by spending less than a min writing what they would do that would actually take 40+ min in reality & pretending that is how a disaster would be handled. They are not actually preparing for real mass triage which is needed for limited supplies/manpower. They even renamed the Expectant triage category to ComfortCare.

Other than a bit of upset on fringe websites, no one thought there was any thing wrong with that. The Boston bombing was used to turn the heat up just a few more degrees, to get the sheep just a little more used to living in an open air prison.

Blogger Tiny Tim August 19, 2015 11:26 AM

The FBI interviews a suspected deadly terrorist in his kitchen for 10 hours, all but one of the agents steps out of the room, and the next thing you know the suspect is shot in the head.

Has the FBI heard of handcuffs or other restraints (ignoring all of the other nonsense you have to accept).

Like Kiki Camarena, he was kept alive medically for days while being tortured. That is called getting information.

That information being who told him about guns for drugs in South America, which Kiki had stumbled onto and was raising a stink.

Time to grow up ladies. Sesame Street was just a fabricated show. It was never real.

@53 VD - I suppose we had better define what constitutes a conspiracy here. If one means "a sophisticated clandestine plan to effectively advance nefarious interest," I stand by my statement. If one means "government actors acting in secret to push stupid programs, protect their backsides and advance their agendas" then you are correct. Fast and Furious and its cover up is evidence enough of that.

Anonymous Donn #0114 August 19, 2015 11:42 AM

BGS @57 He was at home. Which is the point. If you are interviewing a murder/terrorist suspect you a. cuff him b. search the fuck out of him c. transport to a secure interview room with cameras and clocks on the wall and stuff d. search him again because he's going to get his restraints changed. e. restrain him to the table or floor with cuffs and shackles. f. interview the hell out of him. If he asks for a lawyer quit talking to him and hand him a phone book.

Here's what you don't do when you go to his house. Do not ask to search him. Do not have others with you at all times. Do not sit at his kitchen table with a legal pad for four hours waiting for your chance to shoot and plant 'a stick or something like that' (according to the police report) on him. First reports were that he hit the agent with a 'broomstick or something like that'. That obviously wasn't lethal force time with four guys at the house so it was changed to something knife like.

The officer who shot Todashev was known for being a dirty cop yet he was still a Feeb. So he was obviously a button man.

"What is it that they fear? What is it that they know?"

You don't have to go 'full conspiracy' to understand that the *official story* is just that the *official story*. That doesn't mean it's the whole story, the true story, but it's a pretty safe bet that it's always the questionable story.

Who here really thinks that all of the nations down through history obsessed over making sure the people knew the truth? What nation is not guilty of making lies their refuge and hiding themselves under the cloak of falsehood?

We can rest assured though that justice will one day soon be made the measuring line and righteousness the plummet once again; the refuge of lies will be swept away and the waters will overflow the hiding places. Let the nations conspire and plot. It is really overwhelming and all too much for us to really do much about, but the the One enthroned on high finds it amusing to say the least and He gets the last word.

Until that day, my prayer is that we will be strengthened and not despair in the midst of this most treacherous of times. What a time to be alive and what opportunities await us!

Psalm 2 and Isaiah 59 come to mind.

Blogger David-093 August 19, 2015 11:48 AM

"That makes no sense, because we know the USG has crafted conspiracies in the past. The recent past."

Everybody assumes that there can't be, say, a thousand people in on something secret. Like Sandy Hook, for instance. I've seen pretty much all the footage there is to see on it, and there's enough inconsistencies, unexplained happenings, and weird statements by the police that there's no possible way the official story is true. But how could that many people keep it a secret?

Conspiracies assume that people can't keep secrets, but the reality is they can if they believe it must be kept secret, the people they're around are in on it, and they're sufficiently threatened/rewarded. I've heard that Sandy Hook started as a training exercise for a mass shooting event when the public somehow got word of it and the people in charge decided to play it out as if it really happened.

Secrets can be kept, and it doesn't even take that many to pull off a so-called conspiracy. The Boston Bombing may or may not have been a conspiracy, but there's been enough suspicious behavior (like the training exercise going on close by the marathon) that it's impossible the government didn't know something was going to happen, even if they may not have specifically caused it.

The population of the world, that is. The US had won the world and was ready to deploy its global system of tribute, a system that continues, in altered form, to this day. This isn't a shot towards you Cail. After it happened my dad who is an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in traumatology (gunshots, car wrecks, etc.), sent me a photo of an EMT checking for a pulse on a dead woman who had her legs blown off. I think it's safe to say that if something were amiss with the veracity of that photo, he would have noted it. If doctors or nurses were able to write books on what they see day in day out, most people would probably claim it was fabricated. The amounts of crazy injuries, what people DO to get into said injuries, is too much for someone not steeped in medical culture to believe.

Having attended an actual drill (military, EMT, police, fire) as an observer, it is usually well broadcast where the drill will be taking place, who will be participating, and the duration.

Now, I will entertain the notion that this was like the '93 Trade Center Bombing (look on YouTube for it, there's a CBS or ABC snippet shortly after the bombings with the anchor saying the FBI supplied real explosives instead of fake explosives by mistake) and the FBI needed a solid conviction, though I personally don't believe it. I hate to say it: the people that were wounded and died really were. The Tsarnaev bros really did carry out the attack. Were they possibly supposed to be arrested before and someone dropped the ball? Possibly.

My favorite response to the "no conspiracy that large could ever work" claim is Steve Sailer's on Bletchley Park. They had 10,000 people there working on computing projects like breaking the Germans' Enigma, and no one even knew it existed until at least 20 years later. And many of the workers were women!

In this case, say you're a patriotic American who lost his lower legs at some point, maybe even overseas fighting terrorists. Your country asks you to help stage a terrorist-attack response exercise. No one's going to get hurt, and it's going to help the government convince the people that more efforts in that area are necessary. And you're going to get paid handsomely in the form of donations that roll in afterwards. If you talk, you'll not only lose the cash and become public enemy #1, you just might become a casualty of war in a very direct way, though no one ever says exactly that. But you saw the Tsarnevs' end on TV.

Would you talk? Especially if you were the type to be approached for something like that in the first place?

The black material is the inside lining of the bag. They make backpacks with the same basic lining and then apply different color materials to the exterior. I have a back very similar that is silver and black.

He is also carrying the bag very low, and it looks full. Like he is carrying something heavy. Plenty of room for a bomb.

Finally, who benefits? What is the reason to stage a bombing? To create panic and empower a police state, and rile people up against the muslims? Well, mission failed. People defend islamic terrorists more than ever now, making tons of excuses for their actions, and the Obama administration does everything it can to avoid calling terrorist attacks what they are.

Many interests, many sycophants, many "patrons".

More terror, more money for agencies, more chance for advancement, more power. Not very complicated.

"There is one other image that must be discussed here. Among the literally hundreds of posted photos that I have reviewed, it stands out as being the only image in the public domain that comes anywhere close to depicting the level of carnage described by Arredondo and others. It is the only image that depicts anyone other than Bauman with an apparently amputated limb. It also depicts some rather dead-looking women who appear to be being checked for vital signs. And of course Jeff himself makes an appearance with his perpetually bent knee.

"There is though a bit of a problem with that particular image: it seems to be at odds with other available images. If we look at it side-by-side with an earlier image, for example, it is pretty clear that the guy with the missing lower leg and the two dead women weren't there initially. And at the risk of sounding insensitive, I have to note here that dead people and/or people with mangled legs generally have pretty limited mobility, so the question naturally arises: how did they get there?" -Dave McGowan

And where did they go? This is one of their continuity problems, one of the aforementioned poor production values. The scene got cut but they forgot to sweep up the edit room floor.

Also, notice that "Jeff" never goes into shock. He is able to control his facial muscles, eyes, neck, back, and arms at all times. His face never goes pale; his lip keep their color. His left arm always supports the larger, fake left leg, both on the ground and in the absurd wheelchair ride. Who in their right mind would transport such a patient in an upright position? With EMTs and gurneys sitting a few feet away? This obvious, extended fakery is sufficient to establish that a theatrical performance took place that day. There is another video of a man who really had his legs cut off. He was dead within seconds due to blood loss, while lying on the ground. Oops, he apparently forgot to support the right, fake leg, almost lost it.

I'm not interested in analyzing the post ops like the lawyer dog & pony show or speculations about the alleged chases. Those are distractions. These pictures and videos of the crime scene, together with the official, shifting pronouncements, are the facts-in-evidence.

I get a bit touchy on subjects like this and naysayers, real or perceived stating folks like me need tinfoil hats (hello, Operation GLaDIO?) Piss me off. Again, apologies.

No sweat. Note, though, that I don't generally do disqualify, qua disqualify, and never quite the way SJWs do.

@11. Nate

And what Mr bishop.... is the narrative?

The other posters covered that pretty well, Mr nate.

@13. Nate

Seems to me if this was an op... the pastry would be a 20 something white kid named Anderson or Johansson

Originally it was, and heavily hyped as such, as others have noted. They then switched to the Chechan-Muslim angle. This may have been a result of miscommunication between the Producers and the media. The stories that came out in the first days were outlandish and contradictory, just like with 9/11.

"Everyone who has had a microphone stuck in their face has, virtually without exception, lied about what they saw, what they experienced and what they did. And these have not been random lies, but rather lies specifically crafted to describe a scene far more horrifying that what actually existed - bodies piled up in bloody heaps, disembodied legs littering the scene, the stench of burning flesh, bodies being pulled out from beneath the rubble of buildings, gushing wounds spurting blood everywhere, etc. Not one of these people though can point to a single photograph that actually depicts what they claim to have witnessed.

But they don’t have to because the entire media establishment is happily playing along and no one is going to call them on their bullshit. And people like me? Well, we’re just fucking crazy … right?" - Dave McGowan

Posting this late and far guarantees no one will see this comment - which automatically makes it true so listen up!

Charles Colson of Watergate and Prison Fellowship fame spoke most cogently on the topic of government conspiracies.

He said that from the time Nixon and his staff conspired to cover up the white house's involvement in the break-in (which Nixon knew nothing about, it was too inconsequential), to the time the first conspirator broke ranks and spilled his guts was TWO WEEKS. Just two weeks to see an opportunity to save your ass and turn on the "Most Powerful Man in the World."

So many actors. So many co&conspirators. Too, too many for it to hold.

Understood Kratman-

For me, I read and re-read Marlena at Twelfth Bough .the links she has are mostly dead;however, from her earliests posts to the last a year ago, you get a sense of what is actually going on in the world.

She lives near Boston, has children and freaked. Sadly, she no longer updates.

However, she is absolutely correct that this War will not be won on "logics and facts" it will be won on gut instinct. most people are not capable, literally not capable of seeing reality as is (scroll down to Texe Arcane's PDF) As Vox says, thus will be a War won on Rhetoric, not Dialectic.
