Harbingers of #GamerGate

Decades before the thought of cheating on Eron Gjoni was even a stirring in Zoe Quinn's meaty loins, there was this infamous review of Doom in Edge magazine.

If that doesn't sum up the Impossibility of Social Justice Convergence, I don't know does. To say nothing of the way it shows how the SJW's instinct, when faced with an acid-throwing Baron of Hell, is to want to make friends with it rather than strafing and shooting a rocket in its face.

What more do you need to understand that SJWs are pure and unadulterated evil? They see a Baron of Hell and think: "He seems nice! I wonder if he will be my friend?"

Speaking of SJWs and GamerGate, this dialogue was so beautiful and succinct that it nearly brought a tear to my eye.

Everything an SJW needed to know they learned in Kindergarten, and in Kindergarten, you were taught that a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet. And what could be stranger than an acid spewing Hog Demon?

Anonymous Steve August 28, 2015 5:41 AM

They see a Baron of Hell and think: "He seems nice. Hey, potential ally!"

Well, he is pink.

That'll be the same Edge Magazine that later employed everybody's favourite racist drunk, Leigh Alexander. And Alec Meer of Rock Paper Socialjusticegun. And plenty of other cock-breathed pseudointellectual frottage merchants who should've been shipped off to St. Kilda to be eaten by puffins.

You can't find Edge on sale in shops any more. Good riddance.

Meanwhile, the SJWs are equally quick to make enemies out of their neighbours and acquaintances. If there were other soldiers at your side in the game, SJWs would demand the ability to do 'friendly fire'.

TroperA - Everything an SJW needed to know they learned in Kindergarten

That would explain it. They didn't have kindergarten when I was a boy (not for people of my class background anyway).

We played on the streets. My Dad taught me not to speak to strange men, by kicking and punching the fuck out of me. Other than parental beatings, we had our own rules and our own hierarchy, which was established by how good you were at football and how tough you were in a fight.

It wasn't like the Hunger Games, because we didn't have any crossbows. But it was a bit like that film "The Warriors", except we didn't have matching outfits.

You just don't see kids playing in the streets anymore, and that makes me sad. When I was a lad, the pavements and alleys were thronged with children, like big flocks of migrating starlings and twice as noisy.

I imagine most of them are stuck in front of Playstations now, getting fat.

Stupidity alone is now where near enough to explain their actions.

Blogger Krul August 28, 2015 6:44 AM

@4 totenhenchen - "Never ascribe to evil what can be adequately explained by stupidity."

Maybe the Baron of Hell is not evil, just stupid. Somehow that doesn't alter my desire to shoot him.

Actually that makes it easier. A consciously evil entity maintains the possibility of redemption, so one could be a little conflicted about shooting him. A destructively stupid entity, on the other hand, is basically a pest. Shooting him is no different than stepping on a cockroach or taking antibiotics for an infection.

On the other other hand, shooting a consciously evil enemy gives you the satisfaction of rendering hard justice on the deserving.

So in summary:

If enemy=evil
shoot enemy
elseif enemy=stupid
shoot enemy
end
end

suspect you know this already but the word 'alien' means without a legal claim [in this jurisdiction]

It's maybe a deal already done but the ultimate betrayal of man may not have been the serpent in Eden but the one about to take place; doing friends with the actual hyperdimensionals! Theories on the net suggest the deal has already been done.
SJWs have not just done themselves and each other in, it seems they may have semi wittingly taken nearly all mankind down with them.

If it's true......[when the SHTF is the expression]

Plenty of non-SJWs want friendly fire for realism

Thanks for the nod, unfortunately it is just an inversion of Hanlons Razor. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanlon%27s_razor)

To be clear, I think that Hanlon's razor is bunk. As #13 Anonymous said, this has been used as a shield to hide maleficence.

SJW's court death with their naivete. That's why they don't exist in frontier and other violent societies. There needs to be at least one or two generations of peaceful civilization for SJW's to appear. Then, through their ignorance, blindness, stupidity, and naivete, they set about destroying the civilization that gave birth to them.

This is why every great civilization has fallen. Every one! The SJW phenomenon is not the result of malice; it comes from a depth of ignorance and stupidity that only the safety and peace of a fully developed civilization can create. And even then it is hard to fathom. Thence comes the death of ever great civilization in history.

Never ascribe to evil what can be adequately explained by stupidity

It's funny how this is thrown around immediately when someone is publicly observed doing evil.

Things is though, most people are idiots, so all of us have exposure enough to it to know stupidity when we see it. So when we call it something else, it's usually for a reason.

I respectfully disagree. Envy is a sin. A malicious sin. Envy is what SJW's are powered by and live on. They see the success of those who have worked harder than them, or who by the grace of God were blessed with more talent than them and are livid. That envy is the door that is used to let all other sin and depravity into their life.

Blogger Cail Corishev August 28, 2015 9:26 AM

Via darkness of the intellect, evil makes the evildoer stupid in a real way, so the two tend to go together anyway.

Yeah, a conversation with a Baron of Hell would go about as well for the reviewer as Brutus’ is going with Lucifer in the ninth circle. When those doors open and the Barons howl for the first time on level 8(?), you know you need to run but it does not help much. Death in the face is already on the way. I still want to shift-run when I hear anything resembling that howl in a game.

7 out of 10 for a genre defining game, for one of the most popular video game genres off all time; the reviewer nailed it.

Maybe if it was explained to them that these demons were on their way to spit acid in the faces of young Muslim schoolgirls, they would see the need to take them out.

Blogger R Beisert August 28, 2015 10:55 AM

When dealing with isolated incidents, the "stupidity" measure is useful. It's especially useful for dealing with highly sensitive people, because they'll ascribe malice to, say, not texting them daily.

However, while once is a fluke and twice is a coincidence, three times or more makes a pattern. Once malice is established, there is no longer a reason to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Blogger Quadko August 28, 2015 11:00 AM

"How do you shoot the Baron of Hell in the back? What if you miss?"

"He seems nice! I wonder if he will be my friend?" If only they were nice to the nice. How about "He seems dominant! I wonder if he will be my master and give me cookie crumbs from his table?"

@28 "spit acid in the faces of young Muslim schoolgirls" If only they cared about Muslim schoolgirls. They get as much of their attention as modern slavery. Preventing a newly graduated gender studies female from having the fortune 500 CEO job she obviously deserves, now maybe that would do it.

OTOH, sufficiently advanced stupidity (or incompetence) is indistinguishable from malice.

And since, as we are reliably informed by our intellectual superiors, "intent is irrelevant in determining whether an action has caused harm"...
