Scott Adams predicts President Trump

And also Vice-President Cuban, which would be nearly as amusing:
If you’re keeping score, in the past month Trump has bitch-slapped the entire Republican Party, redefined our expectations of politics, focused the national discussion on immigration, proposed the only new idea for handling ISIS, and taken functional control of FOX News. And I don’t think he put much effort into it. Imagine what he could do if he gave up golf.

As far as I can tell, Trump’s “crazy talk” is always in the correct direction for a skilled persuader. When Trump sets an “anchor” in your mind, it is never random. And it seems to work every time.

Now that Trump owns FOX, and I see how well his anchor trick works with the public, I’m going to predict he will be our next president. I think he will move to the center on social issues (already happening) and win against Clinton in a tight election.

I also saw some Internet chatter about the idea of picking Mark Cuban as Vice Presidential running mate. If that happens, Republicans win. And I think they like to win. There is no way Trump picks some desiccated Governor from an important state as his running mate. I think Cuban is a realistic possibility.
He's certainly demonstrated himself to be a master of rhetoric. Whether that is sufficient to bring the Republican Party establishment to heel, I do not know. Regardless, one can certainly learn a lot from the man; he is like a walking, talking exemplar of Aristotle's Rhetoric brought to life.

Trump actually has a sane view on Russia and the Ukraine situation. This is from a few days ago:

"Ukraine is a problem, but at some point, don't you think that the countries of Europe should be a little bit more involved than they are? We're leading all these fights, and Ukraine is a big problem. Germany is a very rich, powerful country. Germany, economically tremendous power, tremendous, unbelievable, unleashed economic power. Why isn't Germany — do we have to lead every fight? So, Ukraine is a problem, and we should help them, but let Germany and other countries over there that are directly affected — let them work it. We've got enough problems in this country. We have to rebuild our country."

Ron Paul stated that last line, but it earned him scorn 8 years ago. I think the situation has gotten to the point where saying something """isolationist""" like that is what the people can get behind. Trump is a better salesman, but people didn't see the problem as clearly 8 years ago as they do now. If Paul were younger and in the running, that statement would've catapulted him to the top of the list.

I was going to say that I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but why not. I don't believe that Trump will be allowed to continue to hinder the establishments agenda indefinitely.

The reason that so many people support Trump, despite his shortcomings as a "conservative", is that he is the only person who is voicing the popular will on a subject of existential significance. At least until a couple of pols jumped on the bandwagon, but they have no credibility.

The point of open borders is to reduce the lower and middle classes to peonage. Everyone who has not drank the kool aid knows that. Hell, Bernie Freaking Sanders know that.

Anonymous Drose August 19, 2015 12:37 PM

The part of his statement I disagree with is this:
“If that happens, Republicans win. And I think they like to win.”
I think the republicans are ambivalent towards winning. They like the props and respect that go along with winning. It also provides their constituents with a false faith in the system. So it’s good for their careers. But they don’t like the responsibility that goes along with winning because that means they are expected to do something(or at least put forth a minimal effort so it looks like they are doing something.) For the most part they are content to be arm chair quarterbacks and criticize the democrats, but not actually do anything substantial to stop them. Trump is rocking their boats and it scares the hell out of them.

I am very glad to see he can get the nation talking about subjects which the elites consider verboten. Another topic I expect to come up before this is all over is the subject of Republican primary fixing in early states. If Trump decides to raise some hell on the cheating that goes on, it should be very entertaining.

Back in the day, when I was day-trading for a living, I used to keep CNBC on as back-round noise, and for the entertainment value. They used to occasionally have Mark Cuban on, and he was just as loose a cannon as Trump. Cuban would give some outrageously true answer to a question, and the camera would cut back to Maria Bartiromo sitting their stunned like she'd been hit with a sledgehammer. Generally a quick cut to commercial, and when they came back Cuban was gone. Good times.

Trump/Cuban 2016! Come on, how is that any worse than Shrub1, Dole, Shrub2, McCain, Romney, Shrub3, Clinton, Obummer, or the Hildabeast? At least the entertainment value is through the roof.

Hmph. If you look at it, Trump + Carson + Fiorina = a constant 35-40% of polls. Which is about right for fifteen months before the general election, six months before the first primaries.

I'm betting that Trump will lose out in the preference cascade as the minor candidates drop out - but he'll get a strong immigration policy plank in the platform, and whoever gets the nomination WILL have to adopt large parts of his plan.

The interesting part would be whether or not Trump would take a Cabinet position. He'd have a strong claim to DHS.

i'm withholding serious consideration of Trump until we see how he deals with an assault from Black Lives Matter. he did invite one, after all.

if some retard BLM starts trying to shit on him and Trump rolls it back on him by pointing out that *Blacks* murder ten times the number of the Blacks killed by Whites every year, that Blacks murder twice as many Whites as vice versa, that no Black deserves to have his life "cared about" until BLACKS start caring ... because White people can't make Blacks stop being homicidal maniacs, they have to decide to stop doing that themselves.

if he does that, i might start taking him seriously.

frankly, even if this started as a stealth op for Hillery on Trump's part, he might just slip his leash. who could have predicted his success thus far in the polls?

and for whatever else Donald is, he's not stupid.

even if you assume that he's venal and in this for the money ... why the hell would he try to get Hillery elected just so he can go and grease the Clinton's palms? wouldn't it be a smarter business decision to jump straight into the slop trough himself and funnel all the 'donations' through his own 'foundation'? i mean, this isn't genius level strategerizing here. any fool can look at what the Clinton's have done and duplicate it themselves.

http://rare.us/story/white-on-black-murder-who-really-is-killing-whom/

2011 stats
Blacks murdered by Whites - 193
Blacks murdered by Blacks - 2447
Whites murdered by Blacks - 448

total number of people killed by cops every year in the US is approx 400 ( all races, all situations ). so in an average year, cops don't even come close to killing as many Blacks as Blacks do.

Cuban just told everyone he's in favor of expanding H1-B visas because "competition makes America stronger" or something stupid like that. If the election is an example of the citizenry having their voice in who runs the US, then Trump would be a lock. But is that what the election really is? Or is the election a bit of mock theater played out for the masses to give them the illusion they have a say in how the country is run?

I personally hope it's the first, but as time goes by I become more and more convinced it's the second. But this is certainly a case where I would be happy to be wrong.

If the illegals aren't deported then nothing else matters. @24 Dealing with BLM is simple. Call security and have them removed. Forcibly. Debating with BLM would be a mistake no matter what was said, because they wouldn't actually debate. They'd just hoot and holler and make a spectacle. They're a sideshow and that's what they should be treated as.

Then, after they've been removed, he can make whatever point he likes about the issue. Interestingly enough, I think Trump has stumbled on a way to actually get blacks to vote for someone without a D next to their name. This immigration platform is highly popular with the black community. One of the unreported facts is that blacks and Mexicans pretty much hate each other and have been waging a silent war against each other for years now, especially in South Western states. While I couldn't see blacks voting for Trump or someone taking his immigration stance at 80-90 percent like Obama, taking it down to 60 percent would have serious repercussions in future elections.

'Nother nail, same coffin. I might think of lifting an eyebrow if wrong. Maybe.
Haven't his children married TheTribe? Of course the Yews can't have failed to notice that Hispanics could give two shits about them, so there's that.

It can't be forgotten though that he put that $5mil wager out to MulattoObongo. Of course, with nothing coming of it, that actually shores up the Admin each time they win and the longer they lasted. As is par for the course now, there is nothing that can remove the Globalist's servant except for the Globalists themselves.

At first I thought Trump was just pulling a publicity stunt, but now that there seems to be a chance he could win I'm not so sure.

I've heard he's cheap with his own money, but he's also almost 70, and you can't take it with you. Someone else ends up with ALL your money after you die.

What you can take with you, so to speak, is your place in history. Becoming president would put Trump in the same historical league as Washington and Lincoln--men they build monuments to; men with their faces on money; men children in school study and memorize their place in history.

Would Trump spend 1-2 billion dollars of his own money to secure himself that kind of historical legacy?

@40 Sad Puppy:

The total non-politician vote is high for this cycle, I'd estimate it at twice normal. The GOP Patrician Plutocrat Establishment has enraged a lot of the base (Quick poll: Who wants to see Boehner caned for cowardice?). Right now, though, these three are drawing from one pool of voters - and it's not enough to win with.

The real question is which way the preference cascade breaks as candidates drop out of the race.

What we've got going is a pre-primary to be the standard-bearer for Patrician Plutocrats, the Populist Conservatives, and the Outsiders. Normally, the latter two groups vote together, but lose due to the better organization of the Plutocrats. But with Trump in the mix...he's got the money and the ego to make a three-way fight of it. Which could make things very ugly in a "least loser takes all" state.

I honestly don't think the Plutocrat standard-bearer (presumably Bush, but Kasich may also be it) can get more than 35-40% of the primary vote. Which is enough to lose a two-way race, but enough to win a three-way race.

On the other hand, if Trump OR the Populist standard-bearer (presumably Walker) falters, his supporters will rally behind the other not-Plutocrat. Who will then win handily.

8 years of race riots, attacks on police officers, 2 American cities in flames, and the Occupy rapists and degnerate hobos, illegals and legals raping women, setting off bombs in Boston, gas prices going up, the economy dead etc.----the fact that no Republican strategist has seen fit to just show commercials of all this, without commentary, with the only words spoke or written on screen being "Brought to you by the Democrat Party" /"Brought to You by Barack Obama"----well, I think that obvious failure demonstrates massive Republican failure and weakness.

Seriously, just that commercial alone, played on endless loop, would have given Mitt Romney the presidency. And now we have even more evidence, 3 years later.

If Trump wants to really win, he should sponsor such ads himself. Yes, the MSM will not play them---claiming them to be "in horrific taste" (while reporting on the latest Kardashian whores)----but he could post them on YouTube and his own website in protest and get millions of hits. And he'd win.

He could also double down with an ad showing the Mideast nations in flames, Putin invading, and the Benghazi disaster. No commentary, just the same tag lines:

"Brought to you by the Democrat Party" /"Brought to You by Barack Obama".

That would be the easiest and clearest political commercial ever. And would win.

Trump: "I don't know. He is a friend of mine, he likes me. I saved him on the big project in the Bronx [Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point], which was taking years. It's been under construction for 25 years, and I got it built in 11 months, got it open [in April]. We are on the opposite side of the spectrum on guns. So for that reason alone perhaps he wouldn't."

Read the interview of Donald Trump in the Hollywood Reporter. He is very intelligent and gets it all.

If he doesn't mess up (or something) he will be the next President.

Whatever Trump gets elected or not, I doubt anything will happen on immigration. This nation has caused its children to pass through the fire and the Mexicans are very likely playing the same role as the Assyrians.

It may be a "little" early but in the next RNC debate, I believe you will see all of the other candidates vying for a spot on the Trump ticket or a job with the Trump administration.

Chris Crispy will probably lay on his back behind Trump and allow him to sit on his belly during lulls in Trump's responses and standing ovations to give Trump a little break.

Blogger Tiny Tim August 19, 2015 4:39 PM

Rand can perform a quickie eye exam on Mr. Trump during the debate... "no charge sir".

And I predict Jeb will say "my good friend Donald..." that would be very Bushian.

Blogger Tiny Tim August 19, 2015 4:42 PM

Lindsey Graham could perform a prostate exam on him, if allowed.

Hollywood Reporter: "Are you having fun? It seems that way."

Trump: "Well, it's more fun when you're leading the polls. I might not like it as much if I was mired in 10th place. Leading the polls is more fun than if you're in 12th place [or], like, Lindsey Graham in 17th place with zero percent and he's a senator. He's actually got zero. How do you do that?"

Blogger Tiny Tim August 19, 2015 4:51 PM

Which is probably why I hate him on a visceral level. Along with all the other politicians.

Not me. I love a good counter-puncher. The historical problem with conservative and libertarians is that they try to fight using dialectic. They boringly follow a logic train.. stand there with a smug look on their face and then get hit by a liberal with "WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEN, KIDS, AND BLACKS!!"

They then shuffle off with their heads down mumbling "but I dont hate those people".

Trump on the other hand stares down the liberal and shouts "WHY ARE YOU ASKING SUCH A STUPID QUESTION".. the liberal then shuffles off mumbling .."but it wasnt stupid".

So yeah ,,. is about time to use the enemies weapons against them, and he appears to be pretty damn good at it.

Do you have any data on how police killings break down by race?

the Feds don't want this information known. any of it. they've been breaking the law since 1994.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_killings_by_law_enforcement_officers_in_the_United_States,_2014
Although Congress instructed the Attorney General in 1994 to compile and publish annual statistics on police use of excessive force, this was never carried out, and the FBI does not collect these data either.

anyone who wants to break this data out is probably going to have to do it themselves.

regardless, a significant majority of the population is White and as a consequence Whites commit ( slightly ) more murders than Blacks.

therefore, i would extrapolate that Whites will be approximately as represented in the 'killed by cop' category. dumbasses will dumbass and it's usually dumbass behavior ( or suicide-by-cop ) that gets you catching lead from the Blue Bandits.

there are plenty of abusive cops, but it's also pretty easy not to have to deal with them for the most part.

First things first-- He would get the wall built and that alone would be enough for me to vote for him.

But they will take him out before he gets even the Repub nom. Like him or not and whatever his strengths and weaknesses-- He represents too big of a change from the usual powerholders. If Trump gets too far, people might just get the idea to really throw off the Dem/Rep system.

The machine will kill him if they have to-- just like they would have done to Perot if he hadn't acquiesced to the threats to his family. I expect it will be much the same with The Donald.

It'll take a lot more than a brash capitalist, 'immigration reform', and a bunch of internet opinions. That's a Band-Aid which the right hopes to paper-over the deep and probably irreversible problems of the nation. Immigration reform doesn't address global-elite control, domination of political and legal processes (and education) by Collective Woman, ubiquitous abortion (because whatever A Woman Decides is what is right), mass fatherlessness and predatory divorce, prison-industrialism, widespread churchianity, homo glorification, and worst of all, the gleeful sec humanist rebellion against God and his people. And that's just the domestic stuff.

Stopping the Mex-flow won't get it. It'd take a change-of-heart by the nation, and such things aren't inspired (nor effected) by super-rich politicos, even supposed 'outsiders' like Trump. This isn't The Dude's Donny, satisfied with an In-and-Out Burger. This is The Donald. We know he loves The Donald. But does he love God and nation? In that order? If not, it's all just yapping.

Blogger David-093 August 19, 2015 7:58 PM

Its not that Trump can save the country; the problems are too big for one man to fix. It's that he might be able to make the crash less painful when it happens. Kicking out 50 million illegals is certainly worthwhile for when the economy dies and there's civil strife going on.

Anonymous Billy August 19, 2015 8:08 PM

@ray Removing the illegals and severely limiting legal immigration will save the country. And perhaps western civilization and the white race. The economy, loss of faith, etc all these things can be dealt with. Our demographic replacement would be the end though.

And, if taken at his word on this issue, of worth and note.

Do you know if Aristotle what a fat white-hair? I had a dream not too long ago where I slaughtered a bunch of more modern philosophers. A truly great joy it was. But there was a fat white-hair, in a toga, that I (eventually) ran down and beat to death among them. I think he was one of note, but I don't have a good description of all the older philosophers of note. Beat them all down. Philosophy is fine, for like... a while. A very short while. Not a whole night of dreaming. Killed them all with ruthless joy!

Trump's only purpose is to mend the black/white divide at the working class level drawing on a mutually held grievance just as Dylann Roof's "act" was to bring black and white liberals "Christians" together by way of a mutually held grievance. I think the situation has gotten to the point where saying something """isolationist""" like that is what the people can get behind.

A return to isolationism on the part of the US would certainly be a good thing for the rest of the world. And for the US for that matter.

Blogger Thordaddy August 20, 2015 5:17 AM

It's an interesting paradox as the "isolationist" position within the Liberated State is as close to a one-mindedness necessary for direct action as one could expect to get while the hyperbolic charge coming from the liberated state conceives the "isolationist" as choosing a voicelessness in all global affairs.
