Moderation is in effect

The troll from Hendersonville, Tennesee who goes by Andrew Spooner Jr. is back so I've turned the moderation back on until further notice. I suspect we're dealing with an "off his meds" situation here, because the guy has been posting literally hundreds of comments, many of them vulgar references to African-American genitalia.

One thing a lot of you probably don't realize is how much goes on behind the scenes to prevent trolls, lunatics, and attention-seekers from disrupting the discourse here. The three of us, Matt, Markku, and I, deal with these attempted disruptions, both purposeful and incidental, every single day. All your comments will appear in short order, they simply won't appear instantaneously. We're not doing this to control your comments, but to prevent them from disappearing in a flood of lunacy.

To put it in perspective, in the last 26 minutes alone he left 114 comments, many of them identical to this.
I am slowly but surely driving Vox Day insane. I am slowly but surely driving Vox Day insane. I am slowly but surely driving Vox Day insane. I am slowly but surely driving Vox Day insane. Apparently it isn't only SJWs who psychologically project. His object, in his own words, is to drive away the commenters unless he is permitted to comment without being subject to the rules. "I will drive every last commenter out of here until you take your rules and burn them Vox."

Needless to say, that's not going to happen. Here is an archive of his short-lived blog and this is his Blogger profile: It appears his address is here:

119 Crossroad Drive
Hendersonville, TN 37075-4801

The Andrew Spooner there is the right age for one who reports being 21 in 2004. He ran a podcast called Radio Free Hendersonville a few years ago. He also has a GoodReads account complete with a picture. His reading list appears to have been influenced by VP, which indicates that we've got the correct individual.

Anyhow, I'm going to contact the Hendersonville police today as this guy has now gone from stalking to aggravated stalking under Tennessee Code 39-17-315 - Stalking, aggravated stalking, and especially aggravated stalking.

Andrew, it's not about you having anything to hide or not, it's about the fact that you just committed a Class C felony. You won't be the first troll of this blog to find himself being interrogated by the police. Hell, you won't even be the first one named Andrew.

UPDATE: He's now up to 1,220 comments in less than five hours and the rate is increasing. He's reached a rate of up to 25 copy-pasted comments per minute. I have to confess, it's somewhat fascinating to see the deterioration of a mind in real-time. His spelling began to fall apart about 90 minutes ago.

UPDATE 2: I received an update from the officer. He returned to Andrew's house and explained that if the harassment continued, he would have to take out a warrant. Apparently Andrew is not so far gone that he wishes to risk arrest. That appears to have resolved the immediate situation, but to the extent that the uncharacteristic behavior was indicative of a deeper problem, I don't see how it will resolve anything in the longer term. So, we'll see.

And I wondered why he went crazy on a facebook group he and I happen to be on. Happened Sunday morn, when he blamed pagans for being able to buy alcohol before noon.

Probably needs a bit of help. Because he later started to claim he was the real box day, and while I never noticed any comments on African genitalia, he did go crazier from there

On the other hand, when they do take them, they are mentally kind of slow. Like always in a mental fog. Which is probably why they so desire to stop taking them. It makes them at least feel like they have an immediate connection to reality, albeit unbeknownst to them, a completely topsy-turvy one.

Markku, I have a friend whose daughter was diagnosed with schizophrenia in high school. It sounds pretty horrible. She started hearing voices telling her to do very evil things. Drugs help, but do indeed slow you down. And finding the right drug and dose can be agonizing.

Sad.
At the same time, it seems to me that this blog somehow is really a *civilizing* influence. As such it suffers fron assault by the forces of chaos and in such observation I see a clear link to how a militant Christianity can and should operate, strong but not without compassion. Ruthless but not merciless. It is very instructive if observed correctly and in context, which at times requires lifting one's eyes from any specific issue of the day.

Speaking of moderation, it seems Ann Coulter will be placed in moderation by the Cucks.

Of course all the WN dipstick wannabee intellectuals are now writing lengthy and unreadable wishes to her. Of course WNs couldn't get laid in a cheap whore house with a $20 pinned to their foreheads.

My advice to Ann, scourge the WN goofs and then ask of the Cucks "what are the rules for identity politics?" That will shut both up, as they should be.

look, we don't need cross dressers on our side. why'ynt you go someplace where you'd feel more at home, like Scalzi's place?

speaking of Scalzi, i'd like to point out for any Ilk with Class As that Dick Lavy Trucking is hiring.

that would be the Dick Lavy company based in Bradford, OH ... where Scalzi keeps his allergen stacked lawn.

i have no connection to Dick Lavy Trucking, so this doesn't actually constitute an Ilkified job offer. the concept of driving palsied Scalzi into a nervous breakdown with the knowledge that there are trucking Ilk going in and out of his hometown all the time just amuses me.

My younger sister is bi-polar and schizophrenic. At one point she had her own personal pharmacy in her bathroom, and the slowing of her mind reminded me a junkie. She remarried, has two kids, and is down to taking a Benadryl as a sleep aid. Having a stable husband and a purpose as a mother brought her sanity. Patriarchy for the win. She's also taking a supplement that is very high in turmeric, B12, and Vitamin D. Judging by Spooner's complexion, he's deficient in at least Vitamin D. I pray he gets the help he needs before he makes a real mess of things.

Kind of a tragic episode. Hopefully he will get himself straightened out. Still, when some one insists on making a nuisance of themselves, for whatever reason, tolerating further nonsense helps no one. At least that is what I have found with my children. After a few minutes outside, I find it's a lot easier to pray, too. And I've discovered in the last few months that a strenuous workout will smooth out a LOT of rough edges, emotionally speaking. I'm enjoying my increased physical abilities, but those are a side effect as far as I'm concerned.

The bad thing is... Bronies are actually pro-gamer gate... and were likely anti-SJW before. The show itself is profoundly subversive and anti-equality.

Hardcore lefties actually are the minority in bronydom, at least as far as I've seen.

That's probably because the show makes a point about loyalty and honesty and generosity being as important as kindness and laughter and the other stereotypical 'girly kids' show' things, and also celebrates competition and individual achievement and rejects the whole 'everybody should be a winner' thing, and you might as well throw holy water on a vampire as expose a hardcore lefty to /that/ kind of message.

IOW, no, no, and no. *g*

@125 -- The Supreme Dark Lord, as always, never disappoints.

PS: In the /closely approaching zero as a limit and vastly unlikely possibility/ that at some indefinite point in the future you will have an idle moment of curiosity during the world's worst attack of boredom and be tempted to glance in the general direction of something pony-related, a useful thing to know. When people refer to 'My Little Pony' re: bronies, they generally mean the current iteration of the show -- My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, aka 'Generation 4'. Because yeah, the franchise has been rebooted that many times. And the earlier incarnations of the show range from generally insipid to mind-rapingly awful.

So if you watch something called 'My Little Pony' and are wondering "How in the name of God can any remotely sane person look at this without losing brain cells?", check to see if its been made since 2010. If not, then yeah, even most bronies don't like it.

Not that even gen 4 is sophisticated entertainment -- its not, its a kid's cartoon. Its just a kid's cartoon that doesn't actively insult the adult brain, which is enough for some people if they're just looking to watch something fun and take a load off for a bit.

Anonymous 334 September 17, 2015 11:03 AM

Andrew is a gay obsessive-compulsive schizophrenic. Ok; yet thats nothing that a plethora of vitamin supplements and a visit to the chiropractor can't remedy.

I don't think anybody's suggesting sunlight, exercise and a good diet would make Spooner normal. But until he eliminates all the possible things that are aggravating his mania, there's no way to see just how bad his situation is or what kind of medical intervention is necessary to keep him afloat.

The fact is, the poor guy is currently on the planet and it seems more desirable to keep him here if possible. Clearly he didn't start with the best possible mental package. He may not be able to find perfect equilibrium, but surely it can be better than this. And many of these very basic, daily things are fundamental to that.

@127 -- Fair point, I certainly didn't get banned just for existing, nor did I ever seriously feel I had to worry about that. So I shouldn't have implied /that/, and I was wrong to do so.

But I actually did make the SJW comparision for a reason. That reason being... okay, you're all pro-GG types, so you all know what GamerGate went through. Multiple editorials were written by people who never actually so much as talked to an actual GamerGater to hear what they actually thought, the single worst and most extreme individuals even vaguely self-identifying as GG'ers were given all the spotlight and held up as archetypical examples of the alleged average pro-GG type, ridiculous accusations were made up out of whole cloth, the entire SJW Narrative Machine in action. I certainly don't need to tell the Dread Ilk how that one works.

Here's the thing. This is exactly the same shit that bronies have been going through since 2010. There's a reason so many bronies are pro-GG -- we've already been there, done that, got the t-shirt..

Its just, I was actually shocked when I realized that so many people who had themselves been attacked by the SJW Narrative Creation Machine could themselves go on to repeat the same things that said Narrative Creation Machine had made up about bronies without realizing that they were actually believing and helping spread the output of said SJW Narrative Creation Machine. Because that's where all the brony stereotypes come from, guys. The same people who made up the stereotype that you're all white supremacist misogynists. Why the hell they did that to us, I have no clue, but since when have they ever possessed a rational motive for doing anything?

Basically, if GG mocks of bronydom or vice versa, that's a blue-on-blue and its unnecessary. We ultimately derive from the same place ('we don't care what "proper society" says we should enjoy, we like what we like and we don't care), and we share the same enemies (SJW types and all the other people who demand conformity of opinions or create categories of TrueFan and try to disqualify other fandoms).

@150 -- The 'I don't understand' exists on both ends. I can understand that not everybody will like it, for the simple reason that there isn't a single gods-damned piece of entertainment product on the face of the Earth that has /everybody/ liking it. What I can't grasp is that anybody else would care about other people liking it.

Blogger Daniel September 17, 2015 11:32 AM

I live 40 minutes from Hendersonville. Do a pretty good Roberto Benigni impression. Wonder if Andy would like to sign a petition requesting VD be deported back to America? We gitta that Vox Day out of his silka suits and into some Duck Head overalls.

They come here. They all come here. How do they find me?

Blogger Rabbi B September 17, 2015 11:50 AM

@Jack Ward

You missed my posts? A picture is worth a thousand words . . .

Formal Definition:

A name typically given to the male viewers/fans (whether they are straight, gay, bisexual, etc.) of the My Little Pony show or franchise. They typically do not give in to the hype that males aren't allowed to enjoy things that may be intended for females.

Female 1: Have you seen the My Little Pony cartoon?
Female 2: Yes! It's so cute and awesome!
Male 1: I've seen it as well.
Female 1: You're the coolest brony ever!

@173 -- Agh, dammit, cross-posted. If I'd seen that before I'd put my last one up, I'd have answered it.

It's not gay. That's the thing. "MLP is gay" ie exactly as true as "GamerGate is misogynist". The SJWs made it up and spread it around ,just like they made up and spread around the GG = misogynist thing. Right down to the part where most of the editorials you've probably read about the show were written by people who haven't even watched it.

That's why I was surprised at the reaction here. I hardly expected this venue to be full of MLP fans. I fully expected the # of MLP fans here to be "one, including me".

But did expect this place to be full of people who could recognize an SJW-created phony narrative when they heard one.

Oh well, if we take anything away from this, its to remember just how insidious the bastards can be, if they were able to fool even this community even once.

@179 -- A 'brony' is an adult fan of the cartoon "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", the 4th generation reboot of the MLP franchise. It's also something I've just been told is not on-topic here, so, I can't post much more.

Watch enough My Little Pony, and this is exactly how you'll imagine this discussion going down.

@183 Rabbi B

You forgot:

Female 2: I'm only 6 now, but when I grow up, I wanna be just like you!
Female 2's mom (to herself): At least he's not a Muslim refugee...

I know a young man battling some kind of diagnosed paranoid/schizo condition. Really awful family dynamics contributed I'm sure.

He's been told how special, smart, literate he is all his life, and I think the challenge outside that bubble bursting was too much for him. Exercise and diet changes would help, but he's not interested in persevering beyond any immediate failures. He's an emotional invalid, and even meds don't seem to quiet the voices completely. Always trolling for approval and validation.

I see this in a lot of kids his age, but not to this extreme.

Lord have mercy.

Re: the bronie thing: Run into this from time to time in the same age group. Seems to be more of attention seeking obnoxiousness and solidarity with a group relishing being strange, non-conformist, novel identity... I did a lot of this around that age, but it mostly involved small obscure religious cults.

My observation, ymmv...

In fairness to Glasgow, My Little Pony has a literal magic negro. Not exactly SJW material:

In fairness to everyone else, I've never met an adult MLP fan who wasn't batshit insane.

......"e, then OK, its your blog, and I'll stop posting."

He didn't ask you to stop posting, he asked you to stop posting ABOUT THE DAMN SHOW.
Understand?

@186 " I'm completely sure that some police officer in bumfuck Tennessee is willing to serve a warrant based on the say so of some dude in Italy's feelings being hurt. "

Yeah, that's exactly what happened. /s Could be a slow day in BFT.

Or, after reading the subject's rantings the cop realized the guy could become dangerous to the community and found some fucks to give.

I live 40 minutes from Hendersonville.

In which direction?

I'm south of Nashville

I think that says it all, does it not? No, that's not even remotely SJW . . . no, not at all.

OpenID cglasgow99 September 17, 2015 12:01 PM

@191 -- Actually, yes.

To clarify (since that seems to be necessary) -- I will stop posting about the show, unless someone else asks me a question about it or otherwise makes it plain that they actually are interested in hearing what I have to say about it.

Don't think he really came here to do anything but play MLP missionary.

@196 -- For the record, I came here from lurking on Sarah Hoyt's blog after her post immediately following the 2015 Hugos and her hat tip to the Supreme Dark Lord about his brilliance in predicting what the SJWs were going to do to themselves. That's what made me go 'Hmmm, perhaps everything I've been hearing other people say about Vox Day is bullshit, and I should come here and investigate for myself'. I've been here for like a month, this is (IIRC) the sixth thread or so I've commented in. Nobody paid much attention before because I wasn't saying anything that everybody else wasn't saying.

If somebody else hadn't mentioned the word 'brony' in this thread, implying that Andrew the schizo was a typical example of one or would be welcome in their community, you guys could have gone the next decade without hearing me bring up the topic.

Blogger Rabbi B September 17, 2015 12:17 PM

'Hmmm, perhaps everything I've been hearing other people say about Vox Day is bullshit, and I should come here and investigate for myself'.

And that's commendable.

But you have to learn to roll with the punches around here and not take yourself or hobbyponies that not everyone shares with you too seriously.

On the serious side, you were trying to equate Bronyism with GG, and were engaged and called on it. FWIW, I hope you stick around. You will only benefit from the education.

Blogger Danby September 17, 2015 12:22 PM

And I posted teh Producers clip before I got to the bronification part.

Today must be mental illness day at VoxPop
