Standing up to SJWs
Even before I was doing it, even before #GamerGate, Doug TenNapel, the creator of Earthworm Jim, was standing strong against them:
I should probably also mention that in the new year, we will have some exciting news to announce concerning Mr. TenNapel and Castalia House.
For more than a decade, the comics, cartoons, animations, and video games of Doug TenNapel have been entertaining millions. Yet a single opinion that swam against the tide of progressive opinion caused him to be subject to years of attacks from an all-too-familiar mob of online public shamers. If you want to support Doug, his new game, Armikrog, is 50 percent off on Steam for the next two hours. VFM, if you're on Twitter, tweet the article.
TenNapel has a long and accomplished career in entertainment. He’s the man behind Earthworm Jim, a 1990s smash-hit video game that spawned a cartoon series and a toy franchise. He has written an episode for the popular animated series’ Adventure Time and acted as a guest animator for Spongebob. His most recent creation is Armikrog, a point-and-click puzzle game created with stop-motion animation.
Despite his obvious talents, there’s a niggling aspect of TenNapel that continues to cause him problems: he’s a Christian Conservative. In addition to his other creations, he’s the series writer and executive producer for VeggieTales in the House, an animated series popular with Christian families. He has also designed the cover art for a number of Christian rock bands.
In the liberal, progressive world of arts and entertainment, it was only a matter of time before such an unfashionable background got him into trouble.
I should probably also mention that in the new year, we will have some exciting news to announce concerning Mr. TenNapel and Castalia House.

If anyone is looking to get into TenNapel, I highly suggest his graphic novel "Creature Tech." You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll contemplate the nature of the relationship between faith and science.
Loved Earthworm Jim. Such a bizarre game but loads of fun. Brings back great memories!
Looks like a good game, I bought it.
I knew David Perry, his Earthworm Jim co-creator. A very cool guy. Just googled him: "He is co-founder of cloud-based games service Gaikai, which was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment... for $380 million."
TenNapel also slammed the games press for its poor standards. “Further, the idea that a gaming journalist needs to first warn his audience of what a developer thinks or believes so the reader can better determine if the game is of quality is the worst kind of journalism. I’ve always found games journalism to be of low caliber when it comes to journalistic standards.
I like this guy.
Creature Tech. Creature Tech. CREATURE tech.
Game looks awesome! I really like the music too.
Armikrog has a "Mixed" rating on Steam from the reviewers. That usually means that it's a bad game according to the reviewers.
I wonder if Steam has the same problem of fake reviewers that Amazon has had.
It seems to have lots of bad reviews, mostly stemming from a purported buggy release. This isn't unusual for Steam, nor is it to be discouraged. But knowing what we do about SJW activism, along with their attempts to ruin the crowd sourcing attempt, has earned them the grain of salt treatment. I got the game and will see for myself how it is.
I might not have noticed the fact that almost half the negative reviews started with a flavor of "I really liked x, but...", if not for familiar patterns.
niggling
Racisss!
Seriously, much gratitude to those like Doug and Vox who paved the way for those who followed.

Thanks, Rev. I was looking for a good place to start. I didn't know who TenNapel was, but, after reading the article and doing some googling, I want to help support him. I'm not a big Steam fan, but that a whole nuther subject.
I loved Earthworm Jim! I'd be happy to support TenNapel's efforts.
VD - I signed up for the CH mailing list and never got confirmation. Should I have received anything in the last couple weeks? And while I have your attention (if I do) I signed up for VFM about a month ago and never got a response on that either. Have you been working those at all lately?
@12 Earthboy Jacobus and Iron West are also solid bets, but as @6 pointed out, CREATURE TECH!

Haven't updated VFM; will be sending out email tonight. If you're not sure you were signed up for the mailing list properly, do it again on the left sidebar. I changed mailing list management software; the new one is much better.
Meanwhile:
It’s the latest sign of the major change in sentiment sweeping across Scandinavia’s biggest economy as the Sweden Democrats -- a party with neo-Nazi roots -- forces itself into the mainstream of Swedish politics.
Wait until they meet the real Nazis ...
Swedish anti-immigration party surges
I don't think they are scared of being called NeoNazis any more.
You gotta ramp it up. Tell us how they like to drink the blood of baby Holocaust survivors or something.
Iron West and Cardboard are great. Looking forward to the announcement, more Tenney stories would be great. Hoping for comics, but I know there's more money in games.
Mr. TenNapel, if you're reading this, I hate auto correct and predictive text.
niggling Racisss! That's niglet that is racissssssoooo
OT what is up with mainstream news reporting on a black man being found not guilty for shooting dead a 13yo black robber but not reporting the 17 shot ,youngest 10yo, at a playground in New Orleans on Saturday by a black guy? They sure are playing up the victim card for the robber. http://news.yahoo.com/no-charges-us-boy-13-shot-dead-stealing-231212676.html
Seriously I don't remember the last time main stream news said "The shooter, who was identified as a ..year-old black man"
What do you guys suppose we should do about the Christian terrorists that white communities are exporting to the rest of the country?
"Creature Tech" is may favorite TenNapel adult audience GN. "Cardboard" is my son's favorite. "Gear" is hilarious for the Muslim joke. "Ghostopolis" is another favorite.
It's really interesting about Veggie Tales. I am not 100% on board with their content, but it's so far and above better than what else is out there, and in fact is pretty biblical good, that I am shocked that it's even continuing to be available.
I've found over the years it to be a fairly good proxy for the types of families we want to be friends with. If my kids talk to their kids, and mention Veggie Tales, and the other family or kids don't know what it is, it's probably time to next them. It's only ever a false negative when they aren't TV families.
I met Doug at SDC some years back. Really nice guy. Good on him for hanging in the fight for so long. I've been meaning to go back and pick up more of his graphic novels, so now's the time.
Under the heading of things SJWs don't like, check out Larry Correia's blog post from today:

I'm actually his point of contact at JP, so I'm feeling proud of myself today.

Good on you. Now tell them that the Supreme Dark Lord wants HIS custom weaponry and it will outsell that of the International Lord of Hate any day.
And it should look far more evil and scary than that.
And it should look far more evil and scary than that.
Then check out Dragunov because they oppress gays and wimenz, so they must be evil.
"Now tell them that the Supreme Dark Lord wants HIS custom weaponry and it will outsell that of the International Lord of Hate any day."
Take my money.
" VFM, if you're on Twitter, tweet the article."
As you command Supreme Dark Lord.
Team CH and Doug TenNapel!
10 Agreed. Plenty of gratitude for CH and creators like Doug.
Take my money.
I'm in.
Hmm, they offer a choice of laser engraving on either side of the lower, why not both sides? I see they take custom logos you can upload to them as well. Very tempting.
Tweet? Post it, and tweet that.

STEAM is showing a lot of negative reviews for it. The top rated bad reviews are saying its actually not fun; none of them are about TenNapel.

Yall are reminding me of many years ago some guy got in trouble for saying niggardly - i believe he was talking about money.

No change. We need to see 250,000 of them spread to every city in the county. Stop being a racist.

How about one of these

Heck yes I'm tweeting that, Dark Lord. I've been a fan of Mr. TenNapel for years now. I'm so glad that he's working with Castalia House, too.
I still think "Sockbaby" is still the most bizarrely genius thing TenNapel's ever done.
Vox, if you get any more irons in the fire, Castalia House is going to start looking like a demented blacksmith shop subcontracting for Hephaestus when Ares is getting a workout.
The supreme dark lord should probably clue his minions in on his weapon preferences beforehand.
Else some VFM will invest time in an ornate halberd only to find a Steyr in .357 Sig was expected...
Shown the son, who games, the game. He has the Steam account access in our house.
@44. I won't speak for Vox, but refer you to the Scary Devil Monastery criteria for weapons.
There has been a great deal of debate on ASR about the best way of dealing
with lusers, and at this time no consensus has been reached. What we can
suggest, however, is to be sure it is painful, clean, and doesn't harm
the computer. That unfortunately leaves a lot of options out; you can't
just throw a grenade at them; it will hurt the machine.
Or if in doubt, ask Tom Kratman.
The Neverhood is easily one of the top 5 adventure games ever (right up there with Grim Fandango, King's Quest VI and Sanitarium) - TenNapel is an amazing storyteller.
Short answer: yes. Shoot me an email at service-at-jprifles-dot-com. Put to attn: marketing.
Always up to the challenge, m'lord. Our official distributor in Italy is a great guy if you're ever inclined, assuming the anti-gun tripe moving through the EU doesn't foul everything up.
Been book talking TenNapel for years. Didn't know a thing about the creator, but then non-SJWs don't background check artists.
