Better late than never

Ted Cruz endorses Donald Trump:
This election is unlike any other in our nation’s history. Like many other voters, I have struggled to determine the right course of action in this general election.

In Cleveland, I urged voters, “please, don’t stay home in November. Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket whom you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.”

After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

I’ve made this decision for two reasons. First, last year, I promised to support the Republican nominee. And I intend to keep my word.
One can imagine the tear tracks being carved through the Cheetohs grime covering Glenn Beck's face. I wonder how long it will take the cuckiest of cucks, Erick Erickson, to follow Cruz's lead and reverse course considering that he just planted his flag again earlier today.
The polling has drawn ever closer. More and more people wonder if those of us who are NeverTrump should finally yield knowing that we can beat Hillary Clinton. I am in an odd position. I am mindful that should Trump win, the Republican establishment will blame people like me for giving rise to Trump. Likewise, I know if Trump loses, the Republican establishment will blame people like me for giving rise to Trump and Trump supporters will blame people like me for his loss. I suppose I should say not that I’m in an odd position, but that I am in a no-win position.

With Donald Trump’s rise in the polls and the increasingly competitive nature of the race, it is time to reconsider my opposition to Trump. After all, I view Hillary Clinton’s candidacy as anti-American....

I think Hillary Clinton will do lasting damage to the country. I cannot vote for her.

Having reconsidered my opposition to Trump, I think Donald Trump will do lasting damage to the witness of the Church in America and I therefore cannot vote for him.

I am without a candidate. I just cannot vote for either one. Whichever is elected, it is God’s will and as his holy and inerrant scripture commands, I will pray for my President as I pray for the current President. But I will not harm my witness nor risk Trump’s soul to serve my political desires.

The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. I do not believe a vote for either candidate glorifies God and I am certain neither advances his kingdom.
Dude, you voted for Captain Underoos. You voted for a bloody MORMON. You don't get to play the "oh, I'm an evangelical, I'm too holy to care about my country, I'm voting for God" card after that. What the fuck is "the witness of the Church in America" anyhow? Lesbian Unitarians performing gay marriages while the gay Catholic seminarians chase the altar boys and women talk about their mutually submitted husbands in the pulpits of the Protestant churches as the only male pastors left are too busy apologizing for slavery to preach the Gospel?

Erick Erickson is exactly the sort of Christian that gave me an allergy to Christianity growing up. All that passive-aggressive, faux-righteous babble designed to justify himself reminds me of every smarmy high school guy who was going to a Bible college to pursue a career in youth ministry because it was the only way he could hang around high school girls.

These people never planted their flags in their churches, and that's the biggest thing that bothers me today, perhaps the only thing that truly bothers me: walking into a House of God and hearing heresy. I almost walked out of a Catholic church pissed the other day because of assholes and snakes like this who've never stood up for the Word of God.

These people never rallied Christianity to plant its flag and fight back in its own house, yet now they want to use it to plant a flag against their country.

They can excuse me if I give them a big, "Fuck you" straight to their face. They have no moral position to posture with Christianity against the people they supposedly say they're a part of.

Erickson is just doubling down. He has three posts in the last day, saying Trump will lose because his supporters are mean and deplrable and trash Erickson, Brexit style predictions of financial doom if Trump wins and an endorsement of the pro-amnesty neocon cuck Evan McMullin. It is probably the smart move since his career is over without a Hillary win. Guys like this must be purged.

It brought the toothiest smile to my faceless face when I read that Cruz endorsed Trump; I delighted in the cuck tears and suicidal thoughts that must be churning in Beck at this very moment.

It also underscores my idea that Cruz and Beck are tools of (((Goldman Sachs))) to act as a pressure relief valve on white america. Now that the victory of the God Emperor looms on the horizon they will slink in and attempt to poison from within again...

While there are no enemies to the right, Cruz is to the left, as is Beck.

But in his flurry of anti-Trump posts Erickson didn't find time to mention the Cruz endorsement or the MSM story of massive numbers of refugees being dumped in his backyard near Atlanta. Some conservative.

And his followers show how the USA fell so fast. They will support him and his laundry list of leftist views as long as he thumps the Bible and will think they are "conservative" since they are being leftists because Jesus via Erickson said to.

That last paragraph succinctly describes why I am not a fan of the North American church in the early 21st century. I am an admitted Calvinist and I see the inroads of cuckoldry even in those professing to be Calvinists. And I recognize that VD is himself a vehement anti-Calvinist. However, VD also loudly proclaims the truth: God does not love everybody, nor does He give His grace to all equally. Once you agree to that statement, it is a small step to Calvinism.

Be that as it may, I absolutely agree with VD that the church today has no balls. I think his last paragraph, while right on target, misses some of the point. Some people want to major in youth ministry because they can hang around high school girls. Some, though, want to major in youth ministry because they can avoid shouldering the burdens of being a man while throwing up the flag of 'I am involved in ... (dramatic pause) ... ministry. Don't YOU dare question my motives." I have seen it repeatedly and it sickens me.

We may disagree on some points of doctrine but I am glad VD is in this fight. He is certainly a noble and worthy ally. Solo Deo Gloria.

Same here. I hated the sappy sentimentalism "Jesus-is-my-bf" and thought the preaching to be mere showmanship (he talked more about himself and his life than Christ).

As far electing non-Christians into office...what's the biblical warrant against it? Paul talked about appropriate submission to the authorities in Romans even while Nero was in power. Jeremiah was called to do good to the very nation that razed Israel. Daniel performed admirably in service to a corrupt empire that obviously did not have Israel's interests in mind. Nehemiah was cupbearer to the pagan king Artaxerxes and it is clear that God used him (and his finances) to rebuild the wall in Jerusalem.

Trump is not even close to any of these ancient emperors and their pagan practices. He is trying to get the nation stabilized; how can a Christian "live peaceful and quiet lives among everyone" when the nation is literally breaking apart zombie apocalypse style? Dumb cuckservatives, I swear...

Ted Cruz said he didn't endorse Trump because he wasn't nice to Heidi. Apparently the idea of 4 Hillary appointed judges gave him pause - his reasons are what everyone including those who don't like Trump say are reasons. Blogger Dire Badger September 23, 2016 8:47 PM

Slightly off topic, I need to rant for a moment.

I cannot tell you how utterly sick I am of churchians like Ted Cruz twisting paragraphs into a series of single statements in order to push an agenda. Even the way that the bible has been numbered into 'lines' gives rise to this fallacy... I really want someone to just translate paragraphs as paragraphs, instead of numbering them like a fucking set of stereo instructions.

Here is a perfect example:

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also, And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also, And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you, That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

If you look at whole paragraphs, the entire message is clear. The first one says, "Hey, The law of moses is flawed... stop sweating the small stuff, try not to be such dicks to each other just because the law of Moses says it's okay. if someone is a jerk to you, remember that he's a person too, and a child of god, and try to love him and understand his point of view. You may make a new friend or ally out of an enemy if you don't behave strictly according to the law of moses, so it's worth trying."
I am simply so sick of churchians abusing the 'itemized list' of those perfectly clear statements, literally cutting them in half like a nevertrump journalist in order to take them out of context.
NOWHERE does Jesus state you must give pagans all of your belongings. NOWHERE does it state you must not harm those who are attempting to murder and rape you. All it says is that a thinking person tries to understand someone else's point of view. If that point of view is evil, then so be it... but you don't go destroying something you don't understand.

That makes a hell of a lot more sense than a bunch of disconnected comments that, taken out of context, sound like the ravings of an idiot.

Blogger LonestarWhacko September 23, 2016 8:52 PM

Yep, Perry has been cuttin' up the rug lately. You know, Perry packs, right? Well sir, he was out jogging, and was forced to plug a pesky varmint of some sort....it was a purely Texas kind of thing.

EWEs talk about the church is a sign on desperation. Either the church is in Christ and has the holy spirit and will do the right thing (Judgment begins with the house of God) or it is already a false church in which case there is nothing to save.

I've pointed out in many places that Romney was to the left of Trump when running for Governor and in his running in MA. Pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-Obamacare pilot. Plus a 1+ TARP elitist bankster. And the church had no problem with all that. He had executive hair and a "nice" family.

I compared him with Ron Paul who was the perfect family man, humble, returned his own wages to the taxpayer, and had a far longer track record on the constitution and liberty and asked "Where were you?".

We needed to shatter the GOP establishment.

I give Cruz credit because he promised to endorse and finally did. Where's Jeb!? Where's Mittens?

I hate to rain on the ilk pro Trump train, but I sincerely believe that Trump is going to disappoint a large number of his present supporters. He is a pragmatic, liberal leaning New Yorker, and I doubt that he is going to implement any of the structural changes that might turn things around. However, he is personally a superior fellow, and he is much better than we deserve. He will whip things into shape, get the skating rinks completed, and will probably be a very beloved president if he wins. Even if DJT doesn't solve all our problems, he certainly will leave this country better than he found it. God bless and protect him!

Blogger D. September 23, 2016 9:16 PM

@52

more:

>These positions were created by political parties, not the Founders. Constitutionally, the office of President
of the Senate is analogous to the office of Speaker in the House of Representatives. While the Constitution
gives both houses of congress the power to add any officers they deem necessary it does not authorize
those officers to usurp the authority of those created by the Constitution.

In the 111th Congress Steny Hoyer is the Democratic majority leader in the house and John Boehner is the
Republican minority leader. Nancy Pelosi fills the Constitutional office, Speaker of the House. In the
Senate, Harry Reid is the Democratic Majority Leader and Mitch McConnell is the Republican minority
leader. Since Vice Presidents, by custom, neglect to fulfill their Constitutional duties as President of the
Senate, that power is usurped by the Majority Leader.

Until the American people wake up and demand the Vice President carries out his constitutional duties, the
Senate will continue to operate without a constitutional executive officer as its leader. The office of Senate
Majority Leader is extra-constitutional. The dictatorial power it has assumed over the Senate is also a very
real threat to the future of the nation.<

Considering how he ignores his kids, or just uses them as a prop, his inability to understand how normal folks would view his antics, I can only conclude he is likely a sociopath.

My take is he thinks Trump is going to win. If that is the case, then he has to endorse Trump or become a total outcast. He statement made it seem like Trump had changed. Trump has not, just the poll numbers/predictions have.

I do not see Cruz having any leadership future in the national republican party. Once he losses his senate seat (or retires, all depends on the Texas voters), he will slowly fade away......

I think I hate Churchians the most in this world. They're a perversion of Christianity, something directly evil. I've met some, have been preached to by some, etc., and it seems that everything they say is just a perversion of reality, some way to break down what used to be good and just. They erode at the very soul of society. Whereas a Marxist can be challenged directly, the Churchians infiltrate from within and keep the organizations themselves from standing strong.

I had been thrown the "love your neighbor as yourself" thing as an excuse for immigration a while ago. I hadn't read the quote in years (I probably need to read the Holy Bible just a little bit more than I do), but when I read the full text in Cuckservative, I was pretty pissed that I had been lied to by these people. Do some of them even know they're full of shit?

They take phrases out of context by separating them from different passages. They take little sentences, and string completely separate ones incoherently together instead of reading a whole concept all the way through.

I think I could rant for hours on why I hate Churchians. I used to be fairly distant from Christianity. It took me until fairly recently for me to realize why. It's not that I had trouble with faith, it's that something always felt off because of Churchian influence.

Maybe only those who don't see the long game. Trump is a pivot point. What you want after that is leftist cucks not being able to reverse the trend, but complaining the whole time.

Cruz will not be the one you want to do that. Ash heap of history.

This quote made something click on why they love the Jews. I don't usually pay too much attention to these weird things as a Catholic, but this seems exactly like that Jewish neo-Babylon, whatever nonsense.

You're not supposed to try to bring about God's kingdom on Earth. That's some heresy right there.

Thanks, Nate. I only skimmed over that statement until I saw you quote it. Maybe I'm making up reasons why this makes sense, but for some reason that quote seems to have a lot of perspective and a lot of meaning to it, as far as the behaviors of some Christians (Churchians?). This one line seems very insightful.

certainly they twist and distort. and they turned the N.T. into another round of legalese jibberish/ with obvious contradictions that "make the whole thing VOID" - exactly what Jesus warned against. They, without any sense of irony became the reivented Sadducee lawyers. A friend at Wednesday night B.S. is fond of quoting the "The Sum of Thy Word is Truth". I read that as, sum it all up, take it all in, balance it all out, and sprinkle it with wisdom.

Common Sense = Holy Spirit + Whatever He wants. That is sanity. And it turns out He doesn't contradict anything He said somewhere else.

The Plymouth Brethren planted a flag for Jesus. With all their failings, faults, foibles and errors and left unspoken intentions it is obvious they didn't fly it for a borderless nation, gay marriage, abortion on demand to meet the meat market in human body bits, white slavery, inverted racism, anchorless relativism, fault free divorces, paganism, human sacrifice, cannibalism, satan worship, witchcraft, voodoo, cannibalism, suicide and assisted suicide, self mutilations, philosophical materialism, endless debt slavery, worthless currency, etc. etc. ie. They were everything the Cuck calls bigoted, hate speech, xenophobes.

I've been shooting a Gamo 440 lately, break-cock, .177 caliber single-shot.  Muzzle velocity ~300 m/s at whatever the projectile weighs.  It's killed quite a few 'coons and possums, several rabbits, many squirrels, and even a crow that wouldn't keep its noise a sufficient distance away.  A thorax shot on a black or fox squirrel is likely as not to go clean through, and red squirrels always do.

There was a pig hunter down in Texas who did a video where he took out a juvenile with a pellet to the head with a Gamo.  Absolute pinpoint aim was required, but those things are tack-drivers.

Peace brought back, bought back
Relaxed be nyet brought back
Did you dry her out

Two-headed dog, two headed dog

Sweet waste from a well

Two-headed dog, two headed dog

Winds quiet in the night
Her body just blows messiah
Sickening sweet sight left and right
Is all right does not please my appetite

Two-headed dog, two headed dog

Two-headed dog, two headed dog

I've just got to say this. Some of what is happening is... happenstance. It really is. Crazy times and all. And, yet, some of this, maybe half, maybe more, perhaps a bit less, is by design.

I honestly am thinking that Trump and team are... how to put it... exemplary at making drama, though also using what arrives for dinner uninvited. He/his can take a bad pate news item and turn it into steak and eggs. That is, when anyone even cares. Though sometimes he does it just because.

Would Trump have had Cruz not throw in support? Maybe. To later break the nevertrump hearts and minds. Or maybe not. But worked at bringing him back. Beyond a sweet-spot shot to nevertrump, it's a positive in the news cycle at a time of, potentially, his choosing.

It's a beautiful thing to watch. This is Cassius Clay, or Rembrandt, or Einstein level politics. If nothing else, I truly am loving the show. If I am not too ill, I really may clomp my way to the polls and just offer the little thank you I have. I don't trust him. I just like the cut of his jib. Yeah, it might be all there is. Or he might just actually not just sit there, or worse, he might do something, and something positive, correct, good for America.

Trump saw his brother die of alcoholism and correctly deduced that he is at risk genetically.

Journalism based on gossip or rumors is a form of "terrorism" and media that stereotype entire populations or foment fear of migrants are acting destructively, Pope Francis said on Thursday.

At this point, nobody, including Catholics, gives half a damn what Francis says.

@ Jack Amok

I remember you from a couple of years ago asking about Pleistocene Park, Sergei Zimov's plan to re-create the Mammoth Steppe ecosystem.

Apparently, yes, the combined effect of megaherbivore grazers and browsers reduces average winter ground temperature from 23 degrees Fahrenheit to -22 degrees Fahrenheit, a -45 difference.

"Flat grassland is now the dominating landscape inside the park.[30] The permafrost was also influenced by the grazers. When air temperature sank to –40 °C (–40 °F) in winter, the temperature of the ground was found to be only –5 °C (+23 °F) under an intact cover of snow, but –30 °C (–22 °F) where the animals had trampled down the snow. The grazers thus help keep permafrost intact, thereby lessening the amount of methane released by the tundra."

I apologize for the very late reply.

@153 The way it works is that a couple of inches of grass will catch snow and dramatically reduce the amount of frost in the soil. Common knowledge for people who deal with such things, like construction workers and farmers.

It irks me when these scientists discover something that is ordinary and announce it like it is some new found knowledge. Plus for the record, water vapor is the major greenhouse gas, so common in the atmosphere that it swamps the effect of the other greenhouse gasses. Want a cooler earth? More clouds is the place to start. Plus dirt in the atmosphere is helpful and us humans put enough of that up there also. Smoke fumes and so on.

I just read, at another website, that Cruz is co-sponsoring a bill, introduced by Sen. John Cornyn, S3184, called "Back the Blue Act of 2016," which would federalize all state and local police forces. Apparently, the only way to show support for the police is to turn them into gestapo! So much for Constitutional Ted. There are an additional dozen names on the co-sponsor list, and every single one of them is an effin' Republican!

That depends on a loft of things, angle of solar incidence, insolation, etc. In the winter, in this neck o the woods anyway, it's clear sky that means colder temperatures. Cloud cover reflects ground heat back down. Clear skies at night mean freezing your ass off during the day. The effect is quite dramatic. In the summer, of course, the opposite is true.

Blogger Dire Badger September 24, 2016 1:18 PM

@126-

Let me put it this way. There's a world of difference between 'mormons', and 'Utah Mormons'.
When you get outside of Utah, generally Mormons are pretty devout, take the commandments and pro-social behavior seriously, and are every bit as serious about being decent people as they seem. Missouri Mormons, Idaho Mormons, even washington mormons are basically extremely decent people... Unsurprising as many of them are recent converts, and few take a church as seriously as a convert.

But when you get inside Utah proper, you have the 'Salt Lake City Immigrants'Who are every bit as serious as, say, Idaho mormons, but then you get a huge class of mormons who are EXACTLY the same as the the status-conscious and money-driven evangelicals. Their fortune and social networking is entirely tied up in the high-status mormon establishments, and political maneuvering... In short, the 'mormon elites' are every bit the same as Jewish Elites, catholic Elites, and Atheist elites.
The only thing is, like the Jewish elites, They can count on 'mormon identity politics' to make their every whim practically a new commandment, because the people who are the top of church Hierarchy use their political and fiscal power to get there in many cases... When someone like Mitt, who is a corrupt politician to his core, starts talking in Mormon magazines and on Mormon-devoted websites about whatever political axe he has to grind, well... Mormons back him up unquestioningly.

So, what it comes right down to, Is that people hold mormons to a 'higher standard', but they are just people, like anyone else. Easily led, easily abused, and easily misled, especially in Salt Lake, where respect for power covers up the fact that the financial top of the pyramid has the same globalist greed as the top echelons of pretty much every other wealthy protestant group.

But when you are down among the middle class, especially outside of Salt Lake, It's generally safe to assume that Mormon attempts to be polite and hospitable are genuine.

Completely agree. I've met a lot of Mormons just like you describe. Something that probably adds to the perception of it all being a sham is they make a habit of having their sons get a lot of practice speaking to groups and participating in grown up society. Young men are expected to be able to comport themselves properly and contribute during an adult gathering. Salesmanship training from a young age. It lends a bit of a surface slickness to them that can be really off-putting.

I'd just like to share these verses from the Book of Mormon about a particular leader and then leave it up to you all to decide whether or not us Mormons are immune to Churchianity.

Of Moroni it was written:
Alma 48
11 And Moroni was a strong and a mighty man; he was a man of a perfect understanding; yea, a man that did not delight in bloodshed; a man whose soul did joy in the liberty and the freedom of his country, and his brethren from bondage and slavery;
12 Yea, a man whose heart did swell with thanksgiving to his God, for the many privileges and blessings which he bestowed upon his people; a man who did labor exceedingly for the welfare and safety of his people.
13 Yea, and he was a man who was firm in the faith of Christ, and he had sworn with an oath to defend his people, his rights, and his country, and his religion, even to the loss of his blood.

17 Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.

Alma 54:
1 And now it came to pass in the commencement of the twenty and ninth year of the judges, that Ammoron sent unto Moroni desiring that he would exchange prisoners.

4 Therefore he wrote an epistle, and sent it by the servant of Ammoron, the same who had brought an epistle to Moroni. Now these are the words which he wrote unto Ammoron, saying:

11 But behold, it supposeth me that I talk to you concerning these things in vain; or it supposeth me that thou art a child of hell; therefore I will close my epistle by telling you that I will not exchange prisoners, save it be on conditions that ye will deliver up a man and his wife and his children, for one prisoner; if this be the case that ye will do it, I will exchange.
12 And behold, if ye do not this, I will come against you with my armies; yea, even I will arm my women and my children, and I will come against you, and I will follow you even into your own land, which is the land of our first inheritance; yea, and it shall be blood for blood, yea, life for life; and I will give you battle even until you are destroyed from off the face of the earth.
13 Behold, I am in my anger, and also my people; ye have sought to murder us, and we have only sought to defend ourselves. But behold, if ye seek to destroy us more we will seek to destroy you; yea, and we will seek our land, the land of our first inheritance.

OpenID xsyq September 24, 2016 10:38 PM

Alma 60:
1 And it came to pass that he wrote again to the governor of the land, who was Pahoran, and these are the words which he wrote, saying: Behold, I direct mine epistle to Pahoran, in the city of Zarahemla, who is the chief judge and the governor over the land, and also to all those who have been chosen by this people to govern and manage the affairs of this war.

6 And now behold, we desire to know the cause of this exceedingly great neglect; yea, we desire to know the cause of your thoughtless state.
7 Can you think to sit upon your thrones in a state of thoughtless stupor, while your enemies are spreading the work of death around you? Yea, while they are murdering thousands of your brethren—

25 And except ye grant mine epistle, and come out and show unto me a true spirit of freedom, and strive to strengthen and fortify our armies, and grant unto them food for their support, behold I will leave a part of my freemen to maintain this part of our land, and I will leave the strength and the blessings of God upon them, that none other power can operate against them—
26 And this because of their exceeding faith, and their patience in their tribulations—
27 And I will come unto you, and if there be any among you that has a desire for freedom, yea, if there be even a spark of freedom remaining, behold I will stir up insurrections among you, even until those who have desires to usurp power and authority shall become extinct.
28 Yea, behold I do not fear your power nor your authority, but it is my God whom I fear; and it is according to his commandments that I do take my sword to defend the cause of my country, and it is because of your iniquity that we have suffered so much loss.
29 Behold it is time, yea, the time is now at hand, that except ye do bestir yourselves in the defence of your country and your little ones, the sword of justice doth hang over you; yea, and it shall fall upon you and visit you even to your utter destruction.
30 Behold, I wait for assistance from you; and, except ye do administer unto our relief, behold, I come unto you, even in the land of Zarahemla, and smite you with the sword, insomuch that ye can have no more power to impede the progress of this people in the cause of our freedom.

35 And behold, if ye will not do this I come unto you speedily; for behold, God will not suffer that we should perish with hunger; therefore he will give unto us of your food, even if it must be by the sword. Now see that ye fulfil the word of God.
36 Behold, I am Moroni, your chief captain. I seek not for power, but to pull it down. I seek not for honor of the world, but for the glory of my God, and the freedom and welfare of my country. And thus I close mine epistle.
