Vox Popoli: Hillary collapses at 9/11 event

It is no secret that she is sick. But it now appears increasingly unlikely that Hillary Clinton is even going to make it to November as a viable candidate:

Hillary Clinton had a “medical episode” that required her to leave a 9/11 commemoration ceremony early, a law enforcement source who witnessed the event told Fox News. The Democratic presidential nominee appeared to faint on her way into her van and had to be helped by her security, the source said. She was “clearly having some type of medical episode.”

Clinton's stumbled off the curb, her "knees buckled" and she lost a shoe as she was helped into a van during her "unexpected early departure," a witness told Fox News.

A separate law enforcement source told Fox News that Clinton left the event because she wasn't feeling well.

I won't be surprised if Team Clinton starts trying to ban video of her public appearances. But was her collapse due to illness, exhaustion, or something darker and more sinister....

Consider the following sequence:

Hillary attacks Alt-Right
Hillary deplores Americans.
Hillary apologizes, but attacks Alt-Right again.
Hillary collapses.

I think the conclusion is clear. Kek will not be mocked!

In a worst-case scenario (the day before the election), they can get an extension from Congress to find a candidate, but the substitute election cannot be after Inauguration Day.

They might go with Kaine because he'd appear moderate compared to Trump. This would drag in the more cowardly of Republicans to vote with the Dems; the kind of Repub who would have sat out the election, or voted Johnson.

1) Vote Hillary into office anyway.
2) She resigns as soon as she is sworn in (or is never sworn in).

I see no option for replacing her on the ticket at this point or delaying the election (we held elections during the Civil War; we can do it now).

The only fly in the ointment is #2. I doubt Hillary would actually resign if sworn in, no matter how sick she was.

What seems more 'problematic' from Team Clinton's perspective is the assumption everyone considering Hillary stepping down seems to be making, that Tim Kaine would naturally take her spot at the top of the ticket.

Many Bernie supporters were, to put it mildly, dissatisfied with the nomination process but will end up voting for Hillary anyway. After all, the birdman himself is committed to doing so, so they can hold their noses and do the same.

But by falling in line when he represented a minimum of 45% of primary and caucus voters--quite possibly more given the DNC rigging--how would those reluctant Hillary-voting Bernie supporters take their man being passed over again and the nomination being given to Kaine if Hillary drops out? Had Kaine competed in the primaries, he would've been neck-and-neck with Martin O'Malley, Jim Webb, and Lincoln Chafee at 1%-2% of the vote. He's a non-entity.

Giving the nomination to Elizabeth Warren would be even more conspicuously undemocratic. While she's more popular among Bernie supporters than Kaine is, she's not Bernie, she didn't run for the presidency, and she wasn't even picked for the VP spot by the person who won the nominatio

Which means (D)s will be shooting at each other. That's supposed to be all taken care of in the primaries, not right on top of the actual election.

Second, the Democrats have become their mask; if they once played with identity politics for cynical manipulation reasons, it is the reality of their party now. The identity groups will have a huge fight to get back on the ballot, especially with the only remaining survivor (Kaine) being a white male. If they don't nominate another woman, the women will have a shitfit, but every other strong constituency is going to be fighting too. And the only woman still being floated has already been kill-shotted by Trump.

There will not be unity.

And it can't be clean, either, because many ballots are locked in by the states in question. Not all of them are going to roll over and just let the Democrats screw with things.

This is an unmitigated disaster for them. One they've earned every last bit of. It has been manifestly obvious to anyone paying attention that Clinton is a bad candidate since the nomination process started.

I have MS, and you don't recover within a couple hours. One tell would be if her symptoms are attacking both sides of her body or mostly one side. In MS, the symptoms tend to be asymmetrical. One side of the body is much weaker and shows more symptoms than the other. Other neuro issues and heavy metal poisoning will affect both sides equally. She does have clear neuro problems.

Unknown September 11, 2016 1:58 PM: I have to disagree that floating in another Democratic candidate can save them. Even if they could do so with total unity, it sends a powerful, unignorable message of chaos and unpreparedness. That's not conducive to victory.

Clinton's pathological lying is baked into the public perception of her, hence any disavowals of an obviously chronic if not terminal health issue will be seen as the lie it is. I'm with Adams, and suspect this was the fork although she was well on her way to losing before today.

More telling was how the security detail was acting. Everybody knew their place and what to do in that place.

There was no confusion or worry at all. This wasn't their first rodeo. Not by a long shot.

This is why she can be dragged to her daughter's apartment to receive immediate medical treatment. Everything from attending medical staff on down is in place and at her disposal. The massive media cover-up along with Clinton's constant lying about her health is jaw-dropping even after you don't think your jaw can drop any longer.
