Setting the record straight

Michael Knowles writes an unfortunately inaccurate and misleading Actual Conservative's Guide to the Alt-Right:
The white nationalist blogger better known by his pen name Vox Day, who counts as a central tenet of the Alt-Right that “we must secure the existence of white people and a future for white children,” which represents one half of the white nationalist, neo-Nazi numerical symbol 1488. (That phrase contains 14 words, while 8 refers to the eighth letter of the alphabet, H, which doubled represents “Heil Hitler.”)
First, while I support white nationalism and see it as a necessary aspect of preserving Western Civilization, I am neither a white nationalist nor am I entirely white. I am an American Indian and I am a red reservationist who sees no reason to believe that whites deserve sovereign nations any less than we Indians do.

Second, why would Mr. Knowles, or anyone else of any race who is not a monster, oppose securing a future for white children? There is a massive difference between the 14 words, which I fully support, and the 88 precepts, most of which I do not.

As for Hitler, he was a cretin, a lunatic, a fool, and almost certainly the worst German leader in history, with the possible exception of Angela Merkel. I am not a 1488er in any sense of the word.
The Alt-Right loves Christendom but rejects Christianity. The Alt-Right admires Christendom primarily for uniting the continent and forging white European identity. As such it also reveres European paganism, much like the Nazis did, and its synthesis within certain aspects of Christianity. But when it comes to faith, many Alt-Right thinkers describe themselves as atheists, agnostics, and lapsed Christians. AlternativeRight.com published a feature on the movement and paganism in which Alt-Right writer Stephen McNallen explains, “I am a pagan because it is the only way I can be true to who, and what, I am. I am a pagan because the best things in our civilization come from pre-Christian Europe.” He goes on to describe his aversion to Christianity because it “lacks any roots in blood or soil” and consequently can “claim the allegiance of all the human race.”

Dark imagery runs rampant, from Yarvin’s philosophy to Vox Day’s preferred title “supreme dark lord.” All reject Christian egalitarianism and universalism. Ironically one of the few Alt-Right thinkers to proclaim his Christian faith, Vox Day, explicitly rejects spiritual equality among the races as a central tenet of Alt-Right philosophy, explaining, “Human equality does not exist in any observable scientific, legal, material, intellectual, sexual, or spiritual form.” [Italics added] But despite rejecting the substance of Christianity, the movement has spawned its own satirical religion around the meme culture that has come to typify the Alt-Right online.
This is simply an exaggeration, presumably meant to appeal to Churchians. While there is a strong pagan strain to the white nationalist elements of the Alt-Right, most of the Alt-Right, even within the Alt-White strain, respect Christianity and cherish Christendom. What the writer fails to grasp is that Christian doctrine rejects egalitarianism and universalism outside of the Church, and rejects egalitarianism even within the Church. Remember, no one ever cites the "all are equal in Christ Jesus verse to claim that there are no differences between men and women or support same-sex parody-marriage.
The Alt-Right wants to burn American politics to the ground. The Alt-Right most immediately opposes conservatism, as Youth for Western Civilization founder Kevin Deanna explained in his Taki’s Magazine and AlternativeRight.com piece titled “The Impossibility of Conservatism.” The Alt-Right contains a who’s-who of right-wing voices that have been “purged” from the conservative movement by William F. Buckley and National Review, like Peter Brimelow and John Derbyshire, and Alt-Right leaders like Vox Day described the movement in an interview as “the heirs to those like the John Birch Society who were read out of the conservative movement.” Steve Bannon, who refashioned the website of conservative icon Andrew Breitbart into “the platform for the Alt-Right,” has encouraged activists to “turn on the hate” and “burn this bitch down.” But while conservatism is its most immediate target, the Alt-Right seeks to destroy a far older, more central American idea referenced frequently by Ronald Reagan and dating back beyond Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and Alexis de Tocqueville’s Democracy In America to John Winthrop’s “City On A Hill” sermon: America as a proposition nation.
Well, that's pretty much correct. American politics merit being burned to the ground, and in fact, are in the process of being radically transformed by the changing societal demographics. However, we are reliably informed by Ben Sanderson that I am "not a thought leader in the alt right", and I'm sure we all recognize that Ben Sanderson is the definitive voice with regards to this matter. I mean, we're talking about BEN SANDERSON!

But regardless of who is, or is not, a leader, the relevant point is that we are all very well aware that "America as a proposition nation", a "melting pot", and "a nation of immigrants" are 19th century myths pushed  on the public by 20th century immigrants.

And it has to be said that the Knowles article is considerably better than the attempted rebuttal of Jared Taylor by (((Ben Cohen))) in American Thinker, entitled "Mainstream Conservatives and the Alt-Right", which declares that because Hawaii hasn't devolved into Haiti yet, whites are unnecessary to American civilization:
Where Taylor goes wrong – very wrong, in fact – is in his unhealthy fixation on race. Taylor is correct that most of what we love about America was created by white people; he is wrong to believe that only white people can sustain American civilization.

Interestingly, Taylor’s hypothesis has already been tested. In 1959, Congress admitted to the union a state that was overwhelmingly non-white. Has that state transformed into a third-world hell hole? A dictatorship? No.

By all measures Hawaii is doing pretty well. Hawaii's residents enjoy the eighth-highest median income of any state in the Union, according to 2014 figures. Meanwhile, West Virginia which is almost exclusively white has the second lowest median house hold income in the United States. If you believe the key to keeping America great is keeping America white, it's hard to explain why Hawaii is thriving and West Virginia is not.

Non-Hispanic whites compose roughly 40% of New Mexico's population, with the rest being a mixture of Hispanics and American Indians. New Mexico isn't rich, (43rd in median income), but it isn't a “third-world hell hole.”

A similar argument could be made for California, which has the third-highest median income.
How very conservative. Notice that mainstream conservatism now not only denies America is a specific historical nation, but denies that the very nation who created a state for themselves are necessary for the state or their posterity! Because the "nation" is not a nation, but an idea and only an idea.

If these literally anti-American, anti-Constitution, and anti-white arguments are the best ones that mainstream conservatism can muster against the Alt-Right, conservatism is going to die out faster than I'd ever imagined.

The 14 words really trips them up and leaves them flailing. Even the much hated phrase "White genocide" has them flailing about spewing "white supremacists" around as if beig white and living freely and peacefully is against their core values.

It's misleading to describe the Alt-Right as significantly pagan. It is significantly Hegelian, which is quite distinct from pre-Christian paganism.

California > Silicon Valley/hollywood what is the demographic makup of either of those industries?

Hawaii > Doesn't the CEO of Oracle own an island there? What is the make up of that income as it relates to millionaire/billionaire transplants vs the native population? Furthermore, culturally Hawaii is very different from the rest of the United States. One might argue that they are closer to a colony than a State in terms of their culture.

Hawaii has a significant DOD presence. So does California. So does New Mexico. Therefore some things must work, period, to support the Navy, or the Army, and/or Air Force and so they will work, period. For now, anyway.

But the anti-white snarking and end-zone dancing by (((Ben Cohen))) is really revealing. He would never write that way about any other race, or group of people, even some (((white))) people he's related to.

One thing I didn't like about San Antonio was all the people who thought its tourism had nothing to do with the 5 military bases including training bases had to do with its economy. How much money has the military thrown at Hawaii over the years? Why has non white japan not sunk to Haiti's level?

Blogger BassmanCO September 26, 2016 4:38 PM

Cohen seriously questions why Hawaii has more money than West Virginia? As if the age old "Location, location location" mantra of realtors has no bearing on the situation? That putrid comparison alone disqualifies him from having any say in the matter.

Anonymous Toddy Cat September 26, 2016 4:47 PM

While there are certainly some high-profile Pagans, atheists, and agnostics on the Alt-Right, there are also plenty of Christians, especially Catholics, Orthodox, and Trad Anglicans/Piscops. I'd be willing to bet that the number of actual, practicing Christians on the Alt-Right at least equals the number in Conservatism, Inc., and most likely exceeds it. The attempt to convince Americans that the Alt-Right are a bunch of infidels is just another doomed NeoCon scare tactic.

This article strikes me as being designed to accomplish two primary aims:

1. To sever Milo from the Alt-Right proper. (Thereby diminishing his influence as an Alt-Lite "gateway drug".)
3. To steer "Judeo-Christian values" Churchian social conservatives away from the Alt-Right. Because clearly they can't be involved in something that's run by scary pagans and slanders (((God's chosen people))).

To a lesser extent, the article also targets the folks (however few that remain) who view 'Murica and 'Murican exceptionalism as cannon for their civic religion.

@5 We're diverse here - there is a generic Island culture here that helps create some sense of identity, but it's generally trumped by specific identities.

We have an incredibly high cost of living here Theoretically I'm firmly middle class, but we've not been able to add to the IRA or savings this year after moving back to Oahu from Big Island.

Hawaii does some interesting dynamics though - we have a very large transient population with the military moving in and out, and people moving here for a few years and then moving back out after failing to appreciate the price of paradise.

Using Hawaii as an example of an ideal society of blended migrants is a complete misnomer. Unlike the migrant hordes inundating the US Mainland with third world rabble uninterested in assimilating and contributing, most of the migrants to Hawaii are 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th generations who have assimilated into our local culture and for the most part also embrace a pro-patriotic American identity as well.

These descendants of the late 19th/early 20th century immigration waves were largely Asians, and they for the most part have completely assimilated into the specific "Aloha Spirit" ideals. For those who have no native blood, they still embrace a "Hawaiian" identity with a common refrain being "Lucky we live Hawaii."

Yet even now, we are still seeing similar migrant problems as the State of Hawaii is accepting massive amounts of Micronesians, who are all brought here and then given the full state entitlement subsidy ride. These Micronesians for the most part don't embrace our "Aloha spirit," and are having every bit the dysgenic and dyscivic effects on Hawaii as the South American and African/Muslim immigrants are having in the US Mainland.

Furthermore, our economy is only "doing well" because we have such a large military presence here and a first-rate tourist-trap industry. Aside from the military, the largest employer in the State of Hawaii, is the State Government. We have a massive bureaucracy, and a heavily unionized workforce, and the entrepreneurs and small business producers who create wealth are vastly outnumbered by the consumers of Government/DoD workforce.

Oh, and one more thing. Like every other State in the US, we have our fair share of (((citizenry))) over-represented in proportion to their population in the Government, banking, media and academic institutions.

There is a lot of variability to that. Mrs. B is Hawaiian, worked for local media, worked at Iolani Palace, and she's fully onboard Team Trump and generally let's me know when there is a new relevant Molyneux.

On occasion someone planning a vacation to Hawaii will ask a travel agent or a friend about Molokai and will receive the typical response, “Why would you want to go to Molokai, there’s nothing there.”

I got this from this website, which touts Molokai as 'the real Hawaii':
http://visitmolokai.com/wp/why-would-i-visit-molokai/

One can't help but agree. Molokai is 60 miles from Honolulu and its demographics are similar to Hawaii as a whole. What's different about Molokai? Class?

Hawaii has no industrial base and everything is shipped in, paid for by tourists and sailors.

If this is to be the model for the entire United States, who is going to foot the bill? Who is going to be our US Navy? Will an endless stream of rich foreigners come to see the sights of scenic Greensboro?

It's completely rural. The main town has one stoplight. Most of the Molokai islanders are farmers, ranchers, fisherman and hunters. It only has a small runway for prop airplanes and a shipping dock unsuitable for large cruise vessels.

That there is "nothing" there is part of it's appeal. No nightlife, no red-light district, and the majority of the crime that occurs is domestic violence and drugs by wayward youth...but even that is nowhere near as bad as any of the other main hawaiian islands.

It's still "real" Hawaii, because it's still country, and the people are the friendliest of all the islands.

Immigration here from Micronesia is definitely over-taxxing our social services, and there is some resentment from the Hawaiians, or other Polynesian groups who established themselves here first (Samoan/Tongan).

My comment on this idiot's article...Every scientist on the planet involved in the study of evolution, genetics or intelligence knows that different breeding groups ("races" to some) have evolved to have differences, physical, mental and emotional. Intelligence, which varies from an average IQ of 70 to inhabitants of subSaharan Africa, to 105 in most of Northern Europe, and 110 in Ashkenazi jews, is a major variant. So are things like spring speed--the last 72 competitors in the Olympic sprint finals have had West African ancestry. It is also highly correlated with the wealth and stability of the societies involved. But in our society, the Marxist notion of the Blank Slate, where everybody is equal in all things, has captivated even many "conservatives." The result is disastrous policy mistakes...

In any case Knowles kind of makes one of our points for us, he is a looter class Republican who doesn't understand or care about culture any more than the Left does,

Culture matters, money and wealth are secondary products of that and what the .alt right wants is a cultural revival, money is secondary consideration

However this difference is a huge one, the "conservatives" who conserve nothing are hung up on property rights, a larger economy and idiot individualism , Western society isn't mostly made of those things . some societies aren't made of them at all

The .alt right as I understand it and I am a leader and so are you appreciates those things but neither Emma Lazarus nor the works or Ayn Rand are holy writ and if government is the solution and it can be, we use.

Heck I'll go as far as to say some of us, not all have no problem with a little collectivism, with giving or taking orders or with telling idiots how to live when its needful to the whole.

Unlike the Left who loves this sort of thing and the Right who pretends they don't but wants to use it to loot , collectivism is not something we relish but its something that sometimes must happen.

So be it, tribe up or die out.

Anonymous Grime Knight September 26, 2016 5:51 PM

@18. Kia Ora, Keoni.

The trouble that the Pacific colonies have, (Yes Hawai'i is one: the trouble is that your ancestors had the wrong empire chosen for them) is that the Brits generally were anti slavery and had enough missionaries advocating for the natives that there was a rapproachment. It was not perfect: NZ had forty years of land wars and there are still racial divisions.

But the new immigrants in Auckland from the land of the dot and the mosque don't care. They see us all as infidels, and want to change our society so it imitates Pakistan.

One of the reasons I live in the South Island is that Auckland now is a suburb of Karachi crossed with Bangalore and Kuala Kumpar.

That never ends well.

I live in California.
It most definitely IS a third-world hellhole.

Corrupt regulatory policy at every level has depressed housing supply by 66% (only 1 unit for every 2.5 net new families) per year, resulting in 90% of the populace "price out" of the market. The nominal income may be high, but the income gap is the same as Brazil and there are literally favellas dotting the drainage basins along the bay area.

Further, the illegals and others pool together income from 3 to 4 generations and live 7 and 8 to a 3bd 1bath house that they still can't properly keep up. A ride along the richmond line of the BART will make you wonder if you're in America or Mexico, with ramshackle hovels covered in graffiti with backyards piled deep in everything from mounds of used cans to rusted out cars.

Neighborhoods which were once stable and working class in the 70's are now full of "clown houses". You can tell because each hose has every square inch of yard and street covered in parked cars of the many residents crammed therein.

Astoundingly, the houses in these areas, all 1100sqft of them, go for 650+. If you want to live in a neighborhood not thusly blighted, you will shell out 900k at a minimum.

California is a hellhole.

Yes, well the real difference was the decimation of native population combined with massive immigration of Asian peasentry to work the sugar plantations, most of which where owned by American businessmen. The Brits had a Monarchy-to-Monarchy relationship with Hawaii, while the Americans wanted to avoid US sugar tariffs.

The sugar plantation owners were the driving force behind the overthrow and annexation by the US FedGov, as well as the instigators of mass migrations of the various races that now call Hawaii home.

"By all measures Hawaii is doing pretty well. Hawaii's residents enjoy the eighth-highest median income of any state in the Union, according to 2014 figures. Meanwhile, West Virginia which is almost exclusively white has the second lowest median house hold income in the United States."

Hawaii benefits from Federal balance of payments in a way that West Virginia does not. Hawaii's population is 1.4 million. Hawaii has 11 military bases with over 49,000 permanent service members, and importantly, 300,000 temporary and permanent military family members. Add over 100,000 military support jobs and it's easy to see how the military alone contributes over $12.2 billion (over 18%) to a $74 billion economy. That's a big lift.

West Virginia has a population of 1.85 million. West Virginias's GDP is $71 billion. They have two bases that contribute just over $1 billion to the State economy.

http://www.ncsl.org/research/military-and-veterans-affairs/military-s-impact-on-state-economies.aspx

Hawaii gets an additional lift from tourism (much of it international), but that doesn't save it from being ranked as one of the hardest (read: most expensive) places to live.

First rule.

It is. They quite literally hate white people and want them to die. They are consumed by hatred, fear, and envy.

It would be difficult to over state or exaggerate this point. Schools in America, from kindergarten through college, are pushing an anti-white narrative.

My friend had his kids in a private Catholic school and even there the teachers practically worshiped "noble savage" native cultures while trashing Europeans and western civilization. I couldn't believe some of the nonsense they would bring home. The only white people their teachers seemed to like were communists.

Mind you, these weren't minority teachers. They were white themselves yet they could not hide their contempt for white history and civilization.

I don't think I have ever meet an east Asian that was not a race realist about blacks. Asians usually have a good network of news to know when a black kills an Asian anywhere in adjoining states. Rubbish. Hawaii is the single most upfront place in the world regarding race while still getting along well with each other. People just plain tell it like it is about all races, and do it with good-natured humor. Hawaiians are the only ones with a dislike (sometimes hate) for American whites-- and that is understandable, what with the stolen land, the military bases, the entitlement-minded tourists, and the government-forced immigration into a place with very limited-resources. Even all that is somewhat forgiven for having brought American football to the islands.

It has changed somewhat because of SJWishness in the younger ones and will probably get even worse because so many Hwns are homeless while the government keeps bringing in the Mics (Mikes) and even trying to bring in Syrians.

A similar argument could be made for California, which has the third-highest median income.

California is the perfect example of how NOT to do it.

What people don't get is that the outrageous prices are because of the illegals. They would get 15-20 people together to outbid a regular couple for a small two bedroom house and then pool the down payment, and move all those people into the house. Now a house that a few months before would have sold for $290,000 has now sold for $350,000. And then the house across town which was worth $400k is then selling for $470,000 and on and on. Everything got to be hugely overpriced and unaffordable. Same thing with rentals.

It worked out for some homeowners, many whom cashed out and headed for other states. Other ones stayed and got stuck in the cycle-- The house they could have upgraded to before went from $650k to the mid $900s in that same time, etc etc.

Now your wife has to work a job instead of taking care of the kids. Then the kids start getting into trouble and smoking dope because they are alone until 7pm while mom and dad are stuck in traffic. All while the quality of living all over the state nosedives.

Meanwhile, conservatives and Republicans from other states ignore the pleas for stopping illegals but then say "WTF are all these Californians moving here for?"

Here's the problem with White Nationalism - they were right about a lot of racial things, but they're not going to get credit for it. Because, ironically enough for a group centered on genetics, they're actually genetically out of step with the majority of White Americans.

The majority of White Americans are considerably less clannish that most 1488ers. It's both a strength and a weakness, but it's a genetic trait, and the 1488ers are a minority of the population that don't share it. So they don't actually fit in with most of their race. Hilarious in a cosmically tragic sort of way.

So I predict we'll see a lot of the Alt-Right/Alt-White debate centered around variations of "well, they were right, but for the wrong reasons."

And that's not necessarily an inaccurate or irrelevant conclusion. If nothing else, the proto-Alt-White was unwilling to pitch in to a significant cultural project of the White majority over the last few decades. Even if the project itself was a mistake, the refusal to participate meant they didn't share the same culture as the rest of White America. Any efforts to say "See, we were right" will tend to reinforce the feeling of "yeah, but you're not part of our culture, so who cares?"

A delicate dance ahead.

Anonymous Neguy September 27, 2016 12:31 AM

As an orthodox Christian, I don't see the Christian element of the alt-right. I don't see much evidence of Christian thinking in it, and those in it who profess Christianity tend to have at best heterodox beliefs. For example, at one point at least you rejected the doctrine of the Trinity, which meant you do not affirm the Nicene Creed, the most fundamental statement of Christian beliefs (you're also an open theist among other non-mainstream beliefs - your extremely low view of the sovereignty of God IMO explains a lot about why your approach is so Machiavellian). Milo is a highly promiscuous homosexual by his own account. Ricky Vaughn's AMA suggested he was Christian, but I never would have guessed it from his twitter stream. You are the only alt-right figure I know who even attempts to provide a Christian justification for the movement. Mike Cernovich is probably a better representative: a cultural Christian who has rejected Christianity as a faith and replaced it with a vaguely new age spiritualism and a Nietzschean sensibility about life that replaces Christ with the self.

I would love to see a post that listed, 1) major alt-right figures who adhere to Christianity, especially of the orthodox variety, and 2) what major Christian ideas are embedded into the alt-right philosophy (Jesus statement about given children's bread to dogs is certainly a peripheral Christian tenet, even if we grant your interpretation of that passage as accurate).

God Hates Cucks wrote:Do these people realize that the Greek and Roman paganism originated from ancestor worship in Egypt and Babylon, the latter of which were...wait for it...Semites?
Bullshit.
Classical and Norse paganism are quite clearly descended from the "Sky Father" religion endemic to North-Western Asia. It was brought in to Europe by the various waves of Indo-European invasion/immigration of the Neolithic and Bronze ages. For an historical example look up The Secret History of the Mongol Empire and Tengriism.

The (yes, Semitic) Babylonian religion was founded in dualism, not ancestor worship.

White the Egyptians were overrun and/or ruled by various Semitic tribes many times, the culture had remarkable staying power. It wasn't until the Romans conquered them and ruled from afar that the basic cultural underpinnings seriously changed. And while Egyptian religion bore some surface similarities to Classical Paganism, in both structure and intent it was very very different.

Neither the Babylonian nor Egyptian religion had almost none of marks that one normally sees from religions derived from ancestor worship, like Shinto, the Roman Lares or the Chinese household Gods.

The history of religion is a VERY complex subject, bound up in language, CULTure, the movement of peoples, victory and defeat. Your statement is incredibly wrong, on almost every possible level.

Another point thats rarely pointed out is the fact that West Virginia is a state that relies heavily upon resource extraction / manufacturing industries. (coal, lumber, pulp/paper). Domestic industries that have been dropped kicked by the trifecta of one- way trade bills, strangling regulation(s) and burdensome taxes.
The watermelon marxists - working as environmental activists- for the Globalists have succeeded in hobbling these industries so badly tremendous job losses would naturally be the result. So who has an opinion about who is a member of a tribe that is more authoritative than the tribe's?

Why the Federal Government and his college Sociology professor, or course. Duu-uuuh.

@Snidely You do realize you did the exact same thing that I did correct? I guess the average IQ around here is fairly low.

Blogger Snidely Whiplash September 27, 2016 6:42 PM

@zack, no, it's not low. You, however, do bring it down a substantial notch.
It's one thing to say, "No you're wrong" it's another to say "You're an idiot." and pretend that it's an argument.
"Leave the politics to people much better suited to it>" Really? Meaning you, one presumes. And what are your qualifications? Tight glutes? Pouty lips?
Vox we know. We know his history, he ahs an established track record. You're a newfag with nothing but an unjustified pose of superiority.

@Snidely Ah, you're a vox fanatic. Now your babbling makes much more sense to me. Have a nice day!

zack, I have major differences with Snidely.

But he's right this time.  And you're a 'tard.

>>59, Lawyer Guy:

it's also fascinatingly timed, as on Thursday, September 22nd, a few miles to the east, there was a BLM riot:

https://streamable.com/ia0n
https://www.rt.com/usa/360456-driver-no-charges-drive-by/

Note the peaceful protestors, peacefully pushing the vehicle side to side as if they were trying to flip it over. See how they are peacefully pounding on the windows and windshield of the SUV, driven by a woman with her children in the back seat. Note how peacefully they chase her down the street after she escapes the mob. Note also the total absence of the local cops, who apparently had better things to do than interfere with a mob of several hundred who were blocking traffic during afternoon rush hour and making threats of violence against drivers. ("No arrests were made.")

The justification, we are solemnly told, is that someone on the campus of Eastern Michigan University somewhere saw a swastika spray-painted on a wall. Or maybe it was the letters "KKK" chalked on the sidewalk. Or perhaps someone wrote "niggers get out" on a bathroom wall. No one can agree on the exact nature of the provocation, or exactly where it was, and of course there are no pictures. We all know that it didn't have to exist at all, just the rumor of it. Just as we're probably never going to see these "racist flyers" supposedly found on the U of M campus.

Presumably there is George Soros money behind this and the "protestors" are being bussed from town to town as needed. That's a known MO of the Soros gang, and U of M and EMU are in such close physical proximity that they won't even need to move their professional protestors into another hotel room for this. I really don't grasp what they think they're accomplishing with this. They want to keep the black voters outraged, to make sure they show up at the polls to vote for Hitlery. I don't think they've figured out yet that they're enraging several white people who planning to vote for Trump for each black vote they get out of this.

Damn...yesterday was the day for me to eat a lot of crow, but your blog is freaking exceptional and is clearing up a lot of things that I am ignorant about. I wish I had been around back when I was working there.

Of course...I never saw the native experience. I was working just off base on Oahu, so I saw the worst of all worlds.

You've got a new reader now.

Thanks man. Maybe some day you'll come back to Hawaii. I hope you have a better experience then. Most malahini either love it or hate it here. The ones who hate it, are the ones that can't get over the racism thing.

As I used to tell all white people from the US Mainland who I become friends with, "In Hawaii, you white folks finally know what it's like to be the nigger."

Only thing, is that in the past 8 years of the Obama regime, all you white folks in the mainland already know what that's like.

Things have changed a lot both here and there in the past decade.

Love the Adolf/Angela comparison. Perfect. Though sadly, we can't know whom history will judge to be the worse of the two until the final body count, maybe not even in our lifetimes.
What I do believe is that one of them was ever prideful of German heritage and sought to do right by the German people and Europe-albeit very brutally and with an unspeakable death toll.
The other is ashamed of the same heritage and, evidently, consciously seeks to destroy Germany and the continent. The body count from her rein is yet to be tallied.
