A failed and fearful establishment

Pat Buchanan observes that the Establishment is terrified. And rightly so:
What explains the hysteria of the establishment?

In a word, fear.

The establishment is horrified at the Donald’s defiance because, deep within its soul, it fears that the people for whom Trump speaks no longer accept its political legitimacy or moral authority.

It may rule and run the country, and may rig the system through mass immigration and a mammoth welfare state so that Middle America is never again able to elect one of its own. But that establishment, disconnected from the people it rules, senses, rightly, that it is unloved and even detested.

Having fixed the future, the establishment finds half of the country looking upon it with the same sullen contempt that our Founding Fathers came to look upon the overlords Parliament sent to rule them.

Establishment panic is traceable to another fear: Its ideology, its political religion, is seen by growing millions as a golden calf, a 20th-century god that has failed.
They should be afraid. From America to New Zealand, they have gradually backed the people of the West into a corner from which there is only one way out. We do not accept their legitimacy. We do not accept their authority, moral or otherwise. They have lost the Mandate of Heaven.

Soon the hour will be upon us. Given the growing fear of the Establishment, they will probably strike first. And, in doing so, they will spark the very revolution that terrifies them.

Donald Trump is not the savior. Donald Trump is not the movement. Donald Trump is the warning. It makes very little difference if he is elected or not. Because, as Mike Cernovich points out in the bestselling MAGA MINDSET, Trump is merely the symbol of the moment. There will be more to come.

This is the Rubio who was supposed to be able to beat Hillary Rodan with one hand behind his back. But he wants everyone to stop talking about Wikileaks. Because decorum and fear.

Lubio said: Today it is the Democrats. Tomorrow it could be us.”

Well, duh, how about not talking out of both sides of your mouth? How about not co-ordinating campaign corruption via email? How about having a fragment of common sense?

He speaks the truth. The elites would do well to heed him.

They will not.

I always viewed the lesson of WW2 being "don't back White people into a corner" (as they did with the Germans after WW1).

The lesson they drew was, "let's back all the White people on Earth into a far, far worse corner, that should make sure nothing else should go wrong, ever!"

As noted, Trump is a warning. I certainly don't want it to go any further, since I'm enough of a history buff to know what happens when that is the case. I personally have a great desire to live out my days in peace in a civilized nation. But if they don't heed the warning and back way, way off, there's a good chance of something ugly happening sooner or later.

There was a WWII memoir I read by a Pole who lived through the German occupation. After almost six years of insanity-inducing terror of life in General Gouvernment, he described the summer of 44 and the sight of trucks loaded with officers' household goods, wardrobes and grandfather clocks setting off westward as the Red Army was nearing.

The author wrote about the occupant's soldiers and secret police, paraphrasing here from memory: "they were still armed, they still conducted the street roundups to capture histages, but something has changed. We stopped being afraid of them"

Between now and whatever politically happens over the next couple of decades, if you are a Christian support and help grow your local church. I understand that good churches are very difficult to find, and if you cannot find one in your area then start a home church. There are no Lone Ranger Christians. It isn’t Biblical.

There are going to be difficult times ahead and the local church needs to a shining light in an ever growing darkness around it. I’m not just speaking of war or migration, but the ethical wreckage and broken people the elites have left in their wake in the moral revolution they have helped bring about. Most of all, don’t trust in worldly powers, don’t live in constant fear or outrage, and always remember that God grows His Church.

The actual job of politics is pretty distasteful to most of us. It's like being a gravedigger - somebody's got to do it but normal people prefer not to.

So we're willing to put up with a lot of corruption from politicians, so long as they do the damn job. The lot we have now aren't doing it. They're failing at every important task government has to do, and to mask their failures they've taken on a bunch of tasks government doesn't need to do and are failing at those too.

We don't have secure borders, we don't have stable money, we don't have streets safe from criminals, our education system has been destroyed, our health care system is being destroyed, and we can't even make fucking gas cans or toilets that work properly any more and light bulbs costs ten bucks a piece.

They ain't doing the job. Dems want to make a big deal out of Trump's taxes. I don't care about his taxes, because I think he might just do the job. I wouldn't care about Crooked Hillary's corruption either, if she'd do the damn job. But her side isn't capable. Be easier to teach a cow to play the piano.

Historically there are two common reactions to populists. One is to co-opt their position and steal their thunder, like Hillary did to Bernie. This works, but only if you actually follow through with the populist reforms, which Hillary will not do.

The other common response is to kill them. Trump's days are numbered and it will probably be the republicans who pull the trigger. This is the stuff revolutions are made of.

"The elites" cannot change course; they are as individuals completely incapable of self-reflection. They project all their (innumerable) faults onto any opposition, and so will double-down no matter how much data belies their approach.

The path ahead promises great tumult, because there are no political solutions to problems created by politics, and we now live in the Apogee of Political Organization of Mankind. Its eventual collapse will to do society as a whole what the immediate vicinity of the World Trade Center looked like on 9/12/2001.

I look for 4GW to be waged between political factions even as one of those factions continues to fight with the power of the state's fist. It won't be easy to tell the false flags (intended to empower the elite's tip-of-the-spear enforcement agencies) from the real stuff, and it should escalate until the central state loses all legitimacy whatsoever and the people who foot the bills for it withdraw their support.

I don't see the benefit of going after politicians because all it does is make them into martyrs (see JFK, Lincoln, etc., whose legacies were used by people to do what the victim of assassination never intended.)

But there are many thousands of people who organize "bird dogging," violence at rallies, who take Soros' coin to backstab their neighbors, who take Uncle Sam's 30 pieces of silver to stuff our communities with 3rd world invaders, etc., and all of these people are *extremely* vulnerable, very easily identified and currently think they're safely off everyone's radar.

I would say what comes after Trump in America, regardless of who wins, is the white shift from ideology to identity. Everyone else is getting theirs, why the hell am I paying for it?

And let's not forget the very real threat that those who fed off the trough, namely government bureaucrats and their benefactors, will act out viciously when their gravy train comes to an end and no one has any desire to hire/interact with them.

Neutralizing this force is important to all alt-righters, but more pressing for the lower levels who are more susceptible to financial ruin.

So, English, you want to fight, just make sure you pick the right target.

If it becomes a daily or weekly thing, that hagiographic aura of martyrdom will dissipate quickly and be replaced by a lot of looking over one's shoulder.

So they'll provoke thermonuclear war with Russia to cleanse the world of nationalism. Then the den of vipers emerge from their underground bunkers, and establish a world government from a much more manageable population size.

@62
LED? Are those the ones that take 5 or 10 minutes to actually light up and by the time that happens you've already busted up your toes and are crying on the floor in a fetal position?

No. Those were the CFLs.
The LEDs do take about a second to come on after flipping the switch, which I still find a bit disconcerting. But then they provide yuuuuuge beautiful light using very little power.

Trump probably won't bring back incandescents, but the next POTUS will probably make several SCOTUS appointments, which is also enough of a reason to vote for Trump--even if he does nothing else.

When Hillary or her severed but preserved Head (aka François Alcasan from That Hideous Strength) comes for our Guns, well, as it says on the rainbow gasden, "We shoot back".

I point this out to some of the losertarians and cuckservatives that think it won't be so bad under Hillary. Nuclear or civil war will be worse than having a raging bull in the White House who is taking a pay cut to do it.

For Trump to become just another corrupt crony would represent a lowering of his status.

No one won a billion dollar lotto to give to Ron Paul - but he had all the small donations. Trump has the same kind of small donor base. It was 2.5 million last I checked but it is likely to have grown. That should shock and frighten Hillary. Billionaires have only one vote and you can only rig things so much.

@4 Rubio "it could be us". I think Trump would say "Bring it on". The power of not caring what others say about you and not having a different private and public persona. Trump is so un-PC in public no one is surprised at any tape.

Yes, Trump is a warning. BLM will burn their own neighborhoods. Angry white males are capable of far worse and know better where to direct fire. And society is far more fragile than yesteryear. When the EBT cards fail...

LED's rock. They also cost a lot and often give out maybe half their rated light. They are an outstanding choice if you only need a little light or in a mobile application.

I use CFL bulbs along with the old fashioned kind. That solves the not on yet on problem and gives a better color balance. The least expensive ones are 2700K or so, and put out a very red leaning light. Daylight varieties with a bigger K are better and a good match to go with incandescents that also lean to the red end of the spectrum.

Don't believe the polls - the same people in the MSM who are ensuring that the Trump smears get covered TWENTY-FIVE TIMES as frequently as the Wikileaks exposure of clinton's felonies, are the same people who run the polls.
.
In the week before BREXIT there were TWELVE polls - conducted by nine different companies. Of the twelve, NINE of the polls showed Brexit LOSING. Brexit actually WON by four points.
.
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE TWELVE POLLS FORECAST THAT BREXIT WOULD DO WORSE THAN WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED.
.
The polls were biased between 2 and 14 points. The average of the 12 polls was 7.2 points more in favor of BREXIT LOSING than the actual result.
.
In most cases the margin of error was supposedly four points or less. There is NO POSSIBLE EXPLANATION for this happening by chance. The polls were intentionally rigged to suppress the vote for BREXIT.

You can't hang the politicians and get away with it until a significant majority of the population supports it. That won't happen until the media starts pointing out the corruption and problems far more often and accurately than they provide cover for said corruption. That won't happen until the Big Media, and the big media owners / directors, directly fear for their companies/jobs (which won't happen because the political pay them for the cover they provide) or their lives.

Yes and no.

"From Household to Nation" and "The Revolt of the Elites" were written in 1994 and 95, so the clear warning has been out there for decades. The various "elites" defused the crisis in the 1990's and early 2000's with a huge prosperity bubble, and then a series of wars to distract everyone from the effects, but any future historians will probably date the end as 2008, when the housing bubble finally collapsed.

The elites may believe they have the upper hand right now, and are safe within their gated communities and the power of the Police and Armed Forces at their hand, but Revolution 2.0 isn't going to be about mass insurgency and gun battles between the Armed Forces and "Patriot" militias. Indeed, *they* can easily defeat an armed insurgency, having far more firepower themselves (want to try a hunting rifle vs an M-1 tank advancing down your street? Be my guest). And if the armed power of the State is too blatant, everyone here is well aware of the armies of Brownshirts being assembled under guises like "Occupy", "BLM", union thugs, criminal gangs and the immigrants and refugees. They could use WWI era tactics and still steamroller small pockets of armed militias.

No, Revolution 2.0 needs to be about thinking and creativity; two attributes the "Progressives" simply don't have. They are all about violence to seize your wealth and break your community and social order, so *we* need to find ways to negate their advantages, turn their armies of Brownshirts against them and keep them bottled uno inside the "Blue" cities until the flames have burned themselves out.

Blogger Thucydides October 21, 2016 11:30 PM

@111

I am nearly observing the old military maxim that professionals study logistics. The current ruling class has 5the ability to concentrate manpower and firepower to rapidly crush open, armed rebellion. While you might be thinking of a general uprising, the reality is far more likely to be small groups in places like Oregon and Arizona, rapidly cut off and surrounded. If blatant displays of power are not deemed appropriate or counterproductive, locals can be rapidly swarmed and outnumbered by gangs of violent Brownshirts bussed in for the purpose. Bird dogging at Trump rallies is the model there.

And while I too have faith that large numbers of American service members will follow their oaths to the constitution, armies no longer "live off the land". A Stryker Brigade Combat Team or A-10's cut off from their fuel supply are not going to get very far. Besides, the US government has built a huge number of armed bureaucracies in the last 8 years (ever wonder why so many agencies without any law enforcement mandates are budgeting for millions of rounds of ammunition?), so depending on the military might not even be in their calculations anymore.

So trying a contest of strength vs strength isn't going to work. *They* are experts at using violence, and have command of more concentrated force. *We* don't need to go head on against tanks or mobs of Brownshirts; in fact, it would be far superior if the political, economic and academic classes which brought us to this position were busy turning the army and police against their own mobs of Brownshirts, and trapped in their "Blue" cities without power, running water or reliable food delivery. Without crumbs to throw from the table, the ruling classes have nothing to offer their armies of the underclass, and the mid level bureaucrats they armed will most likely be fighting to carve out a safe enclave for themselves rather than doing their master's bidding.

How these events might transpire depends on circumstances. I note the decayed urban infrastructure of Blue cities means that any issues which happens in the Blue cities will likely be aggravated (imagine a BLM riot where out of control fires disable a transformer station, for example), much to the detriment of the ruling classes which strove so long for a race and class war, and who will now find themselves trapped inside the Blue cities with their rabid pets.

Your job at that point, @111, will be to simply ensure *they* are unable to flee the burning cities and loot the countryside.

No.  Those are the cold-cathode CFLs.  Hot-cathode CFLs take a second to light but come to full brightness almost instantly.  LEDs are instant-on and run very cool, usually with a bluish tinge.

My front hall is now lit by 3 candelabra-base LEDs.  It's brighter than it was with incandescents, it uses a grand total of 9 watts and I expect the bulbs to outlast me.

He doesn't have to. All he has to do is eliminate the regulator agencies that enforce bans on them, and they'll bring themselves back.

Or not, as the case may be, if new technology can offer a better deal.

You see, any government only has so much energy and attention. If it spends all of it banning incandescent light bulbs and 3 gallon toilets and people saying things that make fat girls sad, it doesn't have enough energy and attention left to ban things like allah-shouting jihadis and copper-wire-stealing wetbacks.
