Brings the Lightning audiobook

Castalia House is very happy to be able to announce that BRINGS THE LIGHTNING, a Western by Peter Grant, is now available in audiobook. Narrated by Bob Allen, the audiobook is 7 hours and 56 minutes long.

When the Civil War ends, where can a former Confederate soldier go to escape the long memories of neighbors who supported the winning side? Where can Johnny Reb go when he can't go home? He can go out west, where the land is hard, where there is danger on every side, and where no one cares for whom you fought - only how well you can do it.

Walt Ames, a former cavalryman with the First Virginia, is headed west with little more than a rifle, a revolver, and a pocket full of looted Yankee gold. But in his way stand bushwhackers, bluecoats, con men, and the ever-restless Indians. And perhaps most dangerous of all, even more dangerous than the cruel and unforgiving land, is the temptation of the woman whose face he can't forget.

When you can't go home again - go west!

Not read the whole thing but read a sample. Loved it. Very old school Western. I will get hold of the audiobook now as well!

Somewhat OT:

There is a guy from Latvia, who developed his own ''The Glass Bead Game'' game, and he is doing a Kickstarter campaign at the moment, that's how I found out about him and the game.

Might be of interest to the Castalia House crowd...

My Mom can't read so easily any more, and has pretty much stopped reading books. This is PERFECT for her. Thank you!

Was just about to buy for my Holiday drive to Texas, but Amazon lists the language as Afrikaans? I assume that is incorrect?

Yes, it's English.

Great book! Hope he writes a sequel. Loved the characters and the setting and the story. Thanks Peter Grant for a great read - love your Maxwell series too.

Glad Castilia is bringing back the Western. Also old school science fiction adventure. Would love to see them take on classic old school spy/thriller/espionage type stories.

This was a truly enjoyable read. It had the same plain practical language as "True Grit". He's his own author, but he lays out the stark and practical mind-set it took to survive and doesn't use too many $10 words doing it.

I read it in one sitting. Made a very long aircraft ride on a business trip much more palatable. Thanks.

I know, things take time, but I'd really like it if y'all could bring out the audiobooks simultaneously with the electronic edition. I have a lot of driving time to listen to books, but not so much sitting time to read them.

Audiobook request

1. I realize this could be a tough one due to the format (Short Stories) and fantasy aspect but "Awake in the Nightlands" would still be an awesome audio book, none-the-less.
