SKOL, VIKINGS!

Blogger l' Américain October 23, 2016 1:38 PM

The Vikings are beginning to unravel. I doubt they'll win half of their remaining games.

Blogger Cecil Henry October 23, 2016 1:58 PM

Not to change the focus, but has NFL play been noticeably poorer this season??

It seems like there is a lot of mish mash playmaking this year. Some of it rather unwatchable.

Blogger Lazarus October 23, 2016 2:07 PM

every time I tune into the Pink Vikings vs the Pink Eagles, something bad happens to the Pink Vikings

VFM #424 here--Bengals lead at the half!! Woowoo!!

Anonymous Dave October 23, 2016 2:45 PM

@4 As of 2001 the Vikings and Eagles had played 7 times including two playoff games. Vikings won the last two matchups before that the Eagles had won five in row including the two playoff games. No comment on pink.

Blogger exfarmkid October 23, 2016 3:00 PM

Fourth sack of Bradford. Ouch.

Blogger Mr.MantraMan October 23, 2016 3:32 PM

NFL too many injuries. Vikes will take the North, the Pack's receivers are back to where they were last year no separation on vertical routes and Lacy is on IR

Blogger SemiSpook37 October 23, 2016 3:57 PM

So, Steelers play the Patriots without Roethlisberger today. It's all right, though, since Joe Flacco once again proves that he is NOT ELITE.

Also, DAMMIT REDSKINS.

Blogger exfarmkid October 23, 2016 4:13 PM

And that's that. Vikings got hammered.

Mr.MantraMan how are the Packers doing today?

Blogger Breadbasket October 23, 2016 4:23 PM

I hope this will be like last year, when the Vikings got clocked by the Seahawks, which woke them up.

Anonymous Dave October 23, 2016 4:37 PM

It's more about a weak offensive line and being near the bottom in every offensive category. Add in the turnovers today and no team will win games like that. Vikings need to play mistake free football, eliminate the turnovers, and their defense will keep them in most games.

Anonymous Laz October 23, 2016 4:50 PM

"...how are the Packers doing today?"

They're probably still reeling from that ass whooping they got last week ;)

On a semi-related subject- The rumor is that Romo is getting traded to Denver. Please let it be so...

Anonymous Laz October 23, 2016 4:56 PM

"...and their defense will keep them in most games."

That's what they said about Green Bay last week. Least points allowed since SF in '93.

Blogger John Cunningham October 23, 2016 5:13 PM

VFM #424 here--and Bengals win!! AJ green and Jeremy Hill dominate.

Blogger Sambuca Ford October 23, 2016 5:24 PM

Cordarrelle Patterson don't need no stinking routes! Tough game with the New Eagles, VD.

Oakland Raiders continue a resurgence that is near miraculous.

Blogger wrf3 October 23, 2016 6:05 PM

Pop the champagne cork! Thanks, Eagles!

Blogger bearspaw October 23, 2016 6:15 PM

OT.... Buckeye are X-eyed.....lol.

Barely squeaking by Wisconsin and holding on to #2 was a bad joke.

The question this year is who gets the honor of getting rolled by the Tide.

Blogger Aeoli Pera October 23, 2016 8:34 PM

I might have to come out of the closet as a Lions fan, Stafford was tremendous today. IMO he gets under-rated because he plays for Detroit and he looks like a random guy from a construction site.

Agreed. It's a combination of a lot of things. The CBA is at the heart of it in my opinion.

Also the NFL seems to have finally outsmarted itself. The NFL has changed the rules to evolve the game but it's evolving the game into terrible offensives which don't show up half the time and defenses that can only play kinda-sorta defense. But by and large considering how brilliant, for the most part, the NFL has unveiled its product over the years sooner or later they were going to hit a stumbling point.

Anonymous Laz October 23, 2016 9:41 PM

"...looks like a random guy from a construction site."

Not around here. You have to be under 6ft and brown to work on construction sites around here.

Blogger Rambam October 23, 2016 9:46 PM

Check out John Urschel and JJ Watt doing Bose commercial. Exception proves the rule in both directions.

Yep, not enough practice time, teams getting penalized for practicing too much or too hard, and free agency randomizing teams each year without enough time for guys to get used to playing together...

Blogger Aeoli Pera October 23, 2016 10:53 PM

Sunday night game is a snoozefest so far.

Blogger Rambam October 23, 2016 11:13 PM

Damn pitchers duel. Both offenses suck. This is supposed to be an offense league.

Do refs think they are paid per flag they throw?

Blogger Aeoli Pera October 23, 2016 11:27 PM

Seahawks better put this away, I'm not staying up for overtime.

Blogger Rambam October 23, 2016 11:28 PM

Outlaw field goals to some degree. No way your leading scorer should essentially be a non-player. What other sport does this? Maybe the field goal kicker also should be a starting position player? Or you have to drop kick?

Anonymous Jack Amok October 23, 2016 11:30 PM

Maybe the refs think they win if it's a tie.

Blogger BlogDog October 24, 2016 12:11 AM

AZ/Seattle is one of the weirdest games I've ever experienced. It should have been over several times and now with 2 seconds in final OT, it's a tie. As Dennis Miller says - shaking my head like a paint blender.

Blogger YIH October 24, 2016 12:12 AM

Another missed FG. Looks like this one gets to end tied...
I hope in the winter owner's meeting they ditch this ridiculous idea and go back to the original 'sudden death'.
This game needed to be put down humanely.

Blogger YIH October 24, 2016 12:12 AM

It finally died. Tied.

Anyone notice the Cubs Manager put in a plug for the NFL after winning the Pennant?
What a dick! "Oh, you won the Pennant, what are you gonna do now? Well, I going to watch me some good 'ol American football so I can have rich, coddled, athletes spit in my face, shit on the flag and disrepect the country that has given them so much. That's what I'm gonna do." "Hey Goodell, did I do a good job? did I? Did I?"

Anonymous Jack Amok October 24, 2016 1:49 AM

Bruce and Pete on their kickers, who each missed a chance to win the game:

Bruce: He gets paid not to miss

Pete: He's out guy, we love him.

Blogger residentMoron October 24, 2016 2:07 AM

What does buwaya puti think of the viking's chances?

Anonymous VFM #6306 October 24, 2016 7:50 AM

Kickers are non-players in the same way that artillery is non-military, Rambam. If it hadn't been for kickers, this game would have tied at zero.

Arians screwed up. His conservative call on 3rd and goal at the 1 to kick was costly.

You have two chances to score in that situation, and he opted to forego the second chance.

Bastard earned the tie, deserved a loss. "Paying a kicker not to miss" is like "paying a running back not to fumble at the 1." If you are leaving opportunities on the field out of fear of flukes, you aren't coaching right.

You have a nuke running back against a defense that just played forty minutes. On the one. And you opt to kick?

Forget field goals. What say the NFL outlaw cowardly coaching?

i noticed that we should congratulate the ND Irish on NOT LOSING A GAME this weekend.

congrats, Irish!

@33
Come on, Jack; you know the 'Hawks are the refs favorite whipping boy. Way too many picky fouls in the last 2 minutes of play. The Cardinals' best player was the refs; the Seahawks' was, of course, the defense.

Anonymous patrick kelly October 24, 2016 11:24 AM

My Raiders are 5-2, the Cubs are in the series. Must really be the apocazombylypse upon us.

Anonymous Jack Amok October 24, 2016 12:14 PM

The refs probably jobbed us a bit, but our O-Line earned most of those holding calls. They were awful. The laundry show certainly didn't make the game more interesting though.

Blogger JaimeInTexas October 24, 2016 11:37 PM

Monday nightmare. What in hell did the Texans org. see in Osweiler that was worth $70mils?
