Web designer wanted

A print/publishing company in northeastern Indiana is looking for a web designer to fill a space in our digital media department (web, video, broadcasting etc.). Full-time, on-site, entry-level position. Applicants would need to be proficient with Adobe products, HTML and CSS. Additional knowledge of Java, XML, and Flash etc. would be a definite plus.

If interested, email me your CV with WEB in the subject and I'll forward it to the interested party.

How do these two statements make any sense together?

"Applicants would need to be proficient with Adobe products, HTML and CSS. Additional knowledge of Java, XML, and Flash etc. would be a definite plus"

"Entry-level position"?

Entry-level salary and probably a nice increase if you know your shit.

Very tempting. Entry-level salary for web designer is quite a bit more than I'm making in my non-tech job.

I unplugged and plugged back in my router once.... does this qualify me?

Good luck! This looks like a good opportunity to anyone who has been picking up new skills but has no business experience. I would consider it but I have my own plans 500 miles away...

I'll definitely be applying.

there are also all kinds of jobs for machinists from Warsaw ( artificial joint capital of the world ) to Fort Wayne and Auburn.

@1 well the java, flash and xml part reads as wishlist hopefulness.

So, it is a html and css guy who knows how to use photoshop. There are people like that in their late teens early twenties who would like a start.

So, its not that ridiculous a combination of statements.

The key is what they mean by proficient. But that does not normally mean master or expert.

@1 That is entry level now. Even here in Arabia, there are good guys fresh out of university with a working knowledge of all that's listed here.

I've got some minor web design experience. I'm not looking for a gig but can volunteer my little experience if a vile minion here has an idea but lacks technical skill. Leave a response here with an email address and I'll contact you back. I've got a fondness for teaching tech so I'd personally be more amenable to helping you get something started and helping you learn it as you manage it if you've got an interest. A small way for me to give back.

V.d. my apologies if this isn't the right place for this. Feel free to delete.
