Change is coming

The God-Emperor Ascendant's Fist prepares the legislative troops for the long march:
Vice President-elect Mike Pence told House Republicans in a closed-door meeting Thursday to be ready to move a lot of legislation next year.

“We’re going to move an agenda” focused on rebuilding the military and improving the economy, Pence told reporters after the meeting.

In his remarks to House Republicans, Pence talked about how he and the new administration wanted members to “buckle up,” and get ready for a speedy start on policy. He also solicited suggestions for candidates to fill administration posts.

“Donald Trump is a man of action and we’re counting on you,” Pence said, according to Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady. The Texas Republican said that Pence mentioned a tax overhaul and Obamacare, but didn’t get into specifics.

Pence, a former House member himself, returned to the U.S. Capitol Thursday to visit with House Republicans. He also met with top Democratic leaders in the House and Senate. Pence’s closed-door meeting with Speaker Paul Ryan and other House Republicans reflected his vital role helping President-elect Trump forge a relationship with Congress. His visit was squeezed in even as Pence is overseeing the building of a Trump administration, a transition effort seen as marked by infighting.

Pence didn’t mention Trump’s campaign promise to build a wall on the Mexican border, according to Representative Lou Barletta of Pennsylvania. But Pence said the transition is "going fantastic" and that Trump is methodically selecting his Cabinet positions, Barletta said.

Representative Chris Collins of New York, who was appointed by the transition team as its congressional liaison, said Pence also told lawmakers one of Trump’s top priorities was taking a deep dive through President Barack Obama’s executive orders. “We applaud that,” he said. “He will be reversing many of them.”
The Democrats are, without question, going to squeal like pigs being butchered and plead everything from "time-honored tradition" to racism, including appeals to the very customs they have blithely ignored in the very recent past. It is now readily apparent that this is not going to do them any good whatsoever, as the God-Emperor Ascendant has made it abundantly clear that he does not care in the slightest what the media or the SJW Left might have to say about him. Of course, I doubt he cares very much what we have to say either, except in that we are a more accurate guide to the current conceptual trends.

As I mentioned to Brian Greenberg on his show last night, Trump simply isn't going to be impressed when they accuse his lieutenants and appointees of racism, hate crimes, crimethink, and small furry animal-molesting, because they have accused him of all the same things. My prediction: the conservative media will be licking his boots and hailing him as the next Reagan by October. The mainstream media will fall in line within a year after that, simply to avoid looking entirely out of touch.

Furthermore, everyone needs to relax about his appointees. This is not a traditional administration. It doesn't necessarily matter what Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani or John Bolton think, because if they don't do what Trump wants them to do, he'll replace them without a moment's hesitation and they all know it now. Look how swiftly Paul Ryan, the Speaker of the House, slapped down the idiot Republicans who wanted to bring back earmarks.

If Donald Trump was not the President-Elect, there is no way he would have done that, or succeeded so easily. I suspect that the neocons and everyone else who think they can use Trump the way they used the Bushes, the Clintons, and Obama, are about to discover that he is more capable of using them than they are of using him.

The Trump administration is looking more glorious by the day and the God-Emperor hasn't even Ascended yet. Both Trump and Pence are showing themselves to be serious men of grim purpose and action, and while it is too soon to hail them on any accomplishments as yet, things are looking better than I had ever imagined.

UPDATE: The God-Emperor has chosen Jeff Sessions for Attorney-General. Great choice. Now set him loose to DRAIN THE SWAMP.

UPDATE: The Sessions (AG), Flynn (National Security Adviser) and Pompeo (CIA) announcements are to be formally announced later today. First Bannon, now this? The legions are practically shaking with anticipation.

Trump has an opportunity to not only be one of our best presidents; he has the opportunity to be one of the best men in the history of western civilization.

We can but hope and pray that he succeeds in that regard. However, it is clear that he has a sense of the stakes, and looks to be going after that opportunity with both hands.

Like the Sessions pick. There was some discussion on the local radio station as I was driving to work this morning about what had happened to him back in the 80s with respect to his judicial appointment getting Borked by the Senate. Granted, that's still a concern, but seeing as how Sessions was on the Trump Train at the beginning of the ride, and the Senate has only lost 2 Rs (and rightfully so, given who the losses were), it shouldn't be an issue.

Man, I would love to see what the mood is among the GS/SES corps downtown this morning. They have got to be shitting themselves.

Donald Trump is in a strong position to do exactly that because he enjoys the greatest possible psychological advantage that anyone in a competitive situation can have: He is chronically underestimated by his opponents.

"Listen up, we're going to put forward nominations, and we're going to get every single one of them. No cucking. Nuclear option is on the table. We will get every. single. nomination. Hail victory!"

As late as August, the NYT was cheering Clinton/Schumer railroading nominations past "obstructionist GOP". They Democrats need to be screwed to the wall. AG used to control immigration under old INS setup but after W Bush and 9/11 almost everything dealing with immigratiin got switched over to DHS.

Hence, the pick of Sessions for AG means Trump is putting a loyal, most trusted lieutenant in that position. I think it means he is serious about draining the swamp.

I remember when we looked into this. For his age, he's actually very junior. Not even the senior senator in Alabama.

And - it pains me as a non-Alabama southron to say this - but Nate and his state are very based. I can assure you we are not going to risk gaining a cucky Senator, like we might if this was a pull from the rest of the country. In fact, there's a great chance they'll pick someone who is basically Sessions, Jr.

Sessions is going to be in a MUCH stronger position to make his will felt across the country, while freeing up a slot that will never fall to the enemy.

Blogger Cail Corishev November 18, 2016 9:46 AM

1) Mike Pence is a GREAT pick for V.P.

He looks better every day, doesn't he? And the way his pick went should have taught everyone how much credence to give all the rumors of whom Trump is considering: none. We heard all sorts of bad choices floated for VP, and then Trump picked Pence seemingly out of nowhere, and he's been rock solid, exactly the sort of #2 Trump needed (and exactly the sort he hires in business, by the way).

It'd be nice if the next time the media says "sources" say [terrible choice] is being considered by Trump for [important position], everyone would just laugh in their faces, but that's probably too much to hope for.

Blogger T-Rav November 18, 2016 9:52 AM

@50 Alexander. Sure, but any day now he certainly could be the senior Sen. from Alabama. And in any event hes pretty high up in the Senate overall; its not easy getting to the level hes at now, that takes quite a while.

And yeah I agree that its smart pulling him from a state like Alabama where a replacement shouldn't be any kind of issue.

I'm guessing that Trump is also making sure that he keeps the leftists triggered. If he can keep them yelling "racist" for the next 4 years he gets an easy reelection. (This is also the ilk's job.) The swing voters will be comparing leftist trash talk with a president that they will have grown to love dearly.

Ford has already cancelled plans to move a factory out of the country and Apple is talking about making iPhones in the US instead of China. And that's only days after the election, LOL!

For years my employment was in high volume electronics design and I can tell you that bringing manufacturing back to the US is a hell of a lot easier than the amateurs are claiming.

The hiring will be *intense*. Far far more jobs than people are thinking. Super overtime. Desperation training. China has over 100 million manufacturing jobs and a good portion of them were taken from the US. You won't believe how well the working classes will see this. And that applies to every race working class.

This sort of thing will also improve the country's debt position for two reasons. First, more jobs and taxes and less welfare. Second, you're going to see the return of inflation from rising jobs in good times.

Anonymous Longtime Lurker November 18, 2016 9:58 AM

@41: "He will go down as the most conservative president of my lifetime, using the Reagan-era meaning of the word rather than the Bush version."

Unlike Reagan, Trump will enter into office with a Republican-dominated Congress and a degree of Republican dominance at the state level not seen since the 1920s.

The Democratic Party and its zombie progressive wing are about to learn just how Pyrrhic the Obama years truly were.

Blogger OGRE November 18, 2016 9:59 AM

@51 Cail. I was just thinking yesterday about how brilliant the pick of Pence was. And the biggest reason why? Hes scarier to the leftists than Trump is; any plans to get Trump out of the way--legal or otherwise--leaves them with someone 'worse' in his place. Its a real demotivator against impeachment or assassination.

Trump owns casinos and pageants. He puts on concerts and other big entertainment events. He's not at all "cool," but his complete comfort with who he is lets him mix with such people without being out of place. When someone like Kanye plays at a Trump venue, he gets to meet The Donald as much as Trump gets to meet him.

Point is, pre-politics, media and entertainment people all basically liked Trump and wanted to interview him or work with him.

So I figured that once the election was over and they recovered from TDS, they'd start to remember that they kinda like him and like being on his good side. They'll do their best to make sure we forget how they acted in the past year. Hollywood is good at that; see how they turned on a dime and rewrote their history when Hitler broke the Nazi-Soviet pact and attacked their Communist friends.

Wouldn't it be weird if we had a Republican president the TV people didn't hate?

Vox is correct, I hope, that Trump's administration will not be typical regarding the appointees who work for him. Take John Bolton for example. The idea of pugilist Secretary of state is not a bad idea. He secretary of sate goes over and bangs his shoe on the table saying something to the effect "we will bury you" or "We will bury our foot up your ass", then the president comes in as the voice of reason. Classic good cop/bad cop routine.

I think every one should be prepared for disappointment. By that I means I do not expect to get everything that Trump promised, I think he will have to negotiate to get most of his plans passed. So you may see a 20 % tax on corporations instead of 15%, the Wall may be a very large set of fences, we may only deport 9 million instead of 15 million, etc. But I hope he gets enough through that the 8 to 27 years of idiocy we have gone though are finally in the review mirror and American is able to pull itself out of the death spiral we are on.

One last comment:

Anyone who advocates or furthers the idea of killing Trump should be turned in to the authorities, idle chatter or not. Assassinations cause all sorts of political problems. That means you Grist (post # 72), perhaps you should clarify your point. The left has been used to making ideal threats the last 16 years, it is time to let those who make such threats bear some responsibility for their speech, after all the left loves speech codes.

On this there can be no compromise. Yes, there are places where the 'wall' will be more virtual. Yes, the wall will have to have a defense-in-depth...

But at the end of the day, I expect 1000 miles of towering bricks and mortar. With gilded "Trump" ever 100 yards. Bronze plaques can adorn both sides commemorating which Mexican village paid for this particular segment.

A physical wall is essential because it is a powerful symbol, it makes crossing it an act of invasion in the minds of the citizenry, and it cannot simply be turned off by a future administration.

Hello! I am new to the blog and first time I comment.
This is a great article. All I can say is, is it not so darn refreshing to have adults that love America take leadership of this great land?!
I loath everything [let me think....doing a quick cursory mental survey. Yes! everything] the current group of people have done and perpetrated on America. I absolutely loath with immense loathing [couldn't find an appropriate superlative] the teenagers who have run our country into the ground and caused it to decline significantly domestically and internationally.
Well!!!! Daddy is home and now the teenagers are quickly realizing that they are in trouble for abusing the trust bestowed on them.

Their ilk in the MSM are a delight to watch. They are like chickens with their heads cut off, flapping their wings, gasping and drawing their last breath. Though they will emerge somehow, we all have seen that they are not in the business of reporting news but rather seek at all cost to undermine the will of the American people. They do so with utter disdain for the American people, and I think it will take a very long time for their so-called credibility to move a fraction in the upward direction. Dinosaurs?!

I pray that our new president is successful in doing what he said he would do. I believe he is sincere in his desire to do so. May it be so.

Oh! This reminds me of a great line from the movie Taken. The character played by Liam Neeson, Bryan Mills says, " I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter [substitute "country," my comment]go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

President elect Trump has a "particular set of skills" that make him especially suited for the re-taking of our country away from the tight choking hold the globalists have had over it for a long time.

@111 Naploean. Doesn't matter how many aren't there on a given day. It takes 3/5 of Senators "chosen and sworn" to invoke cloture. So assuming 100 Senators enrolled in the Senate, it takes 60 affirmative votes to invoke cloture.

I like the filibuster rules but they've made it way too easy to filibuster. As it stands now a Senator can conduct a virtual filibuster...just indicate an intent to filibuster, and the Senate moves on to other business so as to not waste time. I say go back to the old way of doing things; if someone wants to filibuster make them occupy the damn floor and do it until one side gives in. Its the stealth filibuster that really let things get out of hand.

Hey sanctuary cities, get ready to get sued by the federal government for refusal to enforce federal immigration law and non-cooperation with federal law enforcement.

That is important, but I think that something even more important is cleaning up the voter rolls and making some people (Democrats) examples of what happens when they commit election fraud. One of the only reasons that Hillary lost this time was because the Democrats didn't take him seriously enough, so they didn't have enough fake ballots ready. Another 100,000 ballots or so, and the election could have gone the other way. We need to take away their ability to generate votes "on-demand" so we can start having fair and honest elections again.

Along with draining the immigration swamp.

I see the joke. Probably most people here see the joke.

But if Vox wants to expand his blog *and* his influence, he needs to get beyond the current assemblage.

Right now his choice of words is alienating many of those who otherwise would be attracted to his insights.

Blogger praetorian November 18, 2016 7:33 PM

Like I said. It's serious business.

It is desperate, but not serious. Very serious christians and conservatives have been losing for half a century, friend. Take up and read; Take up and read.

> Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.

> A good tactic is one that your people enjoy.

> A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.

A frog meme (admittedly, a very serious frog meme) has given the west a shot, which is more than can be said for all the very serious books and columns put out by the conservative establishment in the last half century.

Casey: Poor Casey, are you blind to the fact that you are being a textbook example of a Concern Troll? If you're going to be a Troll, that's fine, but for crying out loud don't be a Concern Troll, they are pathetic.

Anonymous Casey November 18, 2016 7:42 PM

I'm not a concern troll.

I'm somebody who has linked this blog entry to some sites today and have ever since been trying to explain away why it has labeled Trump "God".

I told them just to read around it.

Maybe some did,...but others didn't get past it.

It's a shame,..because the blog entry contains some good information.

Anonymous Dave November 18, 2016 7:46 PM

Vox, I hope you're listening to Casey. He knows how you can expand your blogs and your influence. One of these days when he's not too busy giving free unsolicited advice to successful bloggers, he's gonna invent his own blog that has millions of pageviews.

Anonymous Casey November 18, 2016 7:46 PM

It may be difficult for some of you to believe, but not everyone has read Warhammer 40K .

Anonymous Dave November 18, 2016 7:56 PM

I've never read Warhammer but as someone that has been online for more than 3 seconds I didn't freak out when Vox started calling Trump the God-Emperor.

Tell me, how far back do we have to go to find your denunciations of "cuck"?

Blogger Snidely Whiplash November 18, 2016 7:56 PM

Not claiming to speak for Vox, but pretty sure he doesn't give a fuck about his "influence". Thats for useless cucks like Matt Walsh, Mark Shea, and, ummmmm, you.

Somebody who can't get past the joke is not fit material for the alt-right, let alone the Dread Ilk.

I do love the "Well, it doesn't offend me, but others will be offended.

WE
DON'T
CARE

Blogger Cail Corishev November 18, 2016 7:56 PM

If the Trumpslide didn't put an end to people claiming you can't win unless you moderate your message and make sure it doesn't offend anyone, I guess nothing will.

Anonymous Casey November 18, 2016 8:01 PM

Okay,...fine.

Make evangelicals stay at home on election day.

Watch the Communists take over again.

Blogger praetorian November 18, 2016 8:04 PM

Alright, alright, easy on Casey.

Casey, welcome to the alt-right. You will notice that there are gamers, autistics, faggots, catholics, atheists, pagans, calvinists, nationalists, socialists, national socialists, semi-ex-libertarians and so on. This can be confusing and disorienting at first. Just have fun with it, keep your feet under you and aim fire left.

Anonymous Nathan November 18, 2016 8:05 PM

@156,

Guess again. My evangelical pastor was posting Milo memes. I'm pretty sure the Warhammer reference won't bother him

Anonymous Casey November 18, 2016 8:06 PM

I'm more familiar with the Alt-Right than you may think.

Blogger Cail Corishev November 18, 2016 8:10 PM

Casey, check your calendar. The election is over. The guy who was on TV every day saying, "Just grab them by the [bleep]" won, with plenty of Christian support. You're wrong.

Anonymous Dave November 18, 2016 8:12 PM

By the time the next elections roll around I foresee evangelicals leading the chants of God-Emperor and erecting shrines in their homes to The Donald. Holy bat-shit, can we at least let the guy take office and get his first 100 days in before we worry about the next election?

Blogger Lazarus November 18, 2016 9:18 PM

Steve Sailer has a good article up about Bannon.

Take a chill pill Casey. You are not a Bannon level strategist.

Blogger James Dixon November 18, 2016 9:44 PM

> That Dungeons and Dragons shit might play well with your sycophants, but it comes across as confusing, peculiar nonsense to everybody else.

What part of "We don't care" escaped you?

> But if Vox wants to expand his blog *and* his influence, he needs to get beyond the current assemblage.

a) What makes you think Vox cares?
b) He seems to have been doing fine so far without your advice.

Blogger wreckage November 18, 2016 10:42 PM

Like a few nerd-memes will cause all the Evangelicals to stay home! FFS.

Anonymous Type 5 November 18, 2016 11:02 PM

Hey sanctuary cities, get ready to get sued by the federal government for refusal to enforce federal immigration law and non-cooperation with federal law enforcement.

DO YOUR JOB!

Anonymous Brick Hardslab November 19, 2016 12:09 AM

Sycophants? I sense a heretic in our midst. We are the Vile Faceless Minions. We reap the blood and bones of our Lord's enemies. We follow the coursing hounds of the Wild Hunt. And we spit the rabbits on our whetted lances.

Time to mount our horses and sound the horns there's a heretic to hunt.

Blogger haus frau November 19, 2016 12:37 AM

Make evangelicals stay at home on election day..........

That's funny as all hell. Maybe they'll vote for the Satanist pedophile baby killer instead? Oops no, apparently even most churchians aren't that hopelessly brain dead.

Anonymous Discard November 20, 2016 1:29 AM

139. Casey: I don't know shit about computers, video games, dungeons and dragons, or half the stuff that goes on here. Don't worry about it. Tell your friends to work around the weirdness, or refer them to another blog. Surely, there's a blog for every taste.

Blogger Jacksonian Grouch November 20, 2016 3:20 AM

@ #6, Al from bayshore -

yeah, I miss Andrew too, but as a Christian, I gotta believe that he is looking upon all this... and smiling.

Kanye Sheen's political career is stillborn, because it's too easy to compare him to Charlie for being nutty.
