NFL Week 9

I don't know about you, but I can certainly use a break from contemplating the ghastly moral morass of the Clinton inner circle.

On the one hand, going into a Week 9 divisional game with the Lions at the top of the NFC North would have looked pretty good before the season. But after two butt-whippings, one by a bad Chicago team, the resignation of the offensive coordinator, and the exposure of the offensive line as one that couldn't stop a pass rush by the Little Sisters of the Poor's junior varsity, things don't look good for the Vikes.

It's time for Coach Zim to step up and pull a rabbit or two out of his horned helm.

That's probably the best early game to watch other than the eagles/giants. We'll see what the Vikings can do with that sieve of an o-line; even worse, didn't they lose one of the rookie tackles this week?

Giving anything (time, money, energy) to the NFL or other mainstream entertainment is supporting the enemy & cultural decay of the West. ditch it for something better.
Go play sports yourself, work out, or any productive activity.

The trolls, they are concerned.

@ Warren Yurmind

Let's just not worry too much about that right now. Lots of heavy hearts right now.

The Bears are better than their 2-6 record, though not by a whole lot. A better kicker or HC and they would be 4-4. Monday against the vikings was the healthiest our defense had been this year, and our rookie RB is arguably the best RB in this years draft. He is putting up the same numbers as Zek on a per touch basis and doing it with a worse offensive line and when Hoyer was playing, no threat of the deep ball.

Was a good win to take into the bye. Great time to be a Chicago sports fan too what with the epic WS win by the Cubs.

Will Best

I only hope it won't be a close election. Hillary still has the electoral advantage. Trump made too many mistakes and didn't capitalize sooner. Just 2 days left.

I'm happy about college football. My USC won again.

the exposure of the offensive line as one that couldn't stop a pass rush by the Little Sisters of the Poor's junior varsity
That's the bad news, the OL sucks, the QB just isn't effective with a pass rush in his face. The good news is their pass rushing OLB Armonte(?) Bryant just started a 3 game suspension for ''violation of the NFL drug policy'' ('roids?).
Moar good news, they're still a game ahead of the Pack with the tiebreaker to boot.
The surprises? The wandering Raiders. Tied with the Broncos for the division and are playing the Broncos on the road.
And the Cowboys, last year it appeared they were better than their final record indicated, now they lead the NFC Least by two games! and they're saying ''Tony Romo who?'' (too bad he's worthless for a trade).
Plus they get the Clowns - and will probably help them on their way to their perfect season :)
The Titans. I did think they'd improve - I didn't think they'd be 4-4 right now. I thought they might make 4 wins, just not this soon. And as sports hacks like to say: ''if the season were to end today, they could make the playoffs'' (they'd be tied with Buffalo for the last playoff spot).
BTW, was I the only one who thought Baddells suspension was not going to harm the Patriots?

My 2 teams are not playing today -
Falcons

Redskins - Yeesh, a tie? really? In NFL a tie is like kissing yer sister...

I'm not a baseball fan, but the Cubs 'story' is one for the ages. That scene in Back to the Future II was written as ''No way, nobody's gonna believe it - not even in 2015!'' and yet...
My grandmother was 2 when the BoSox won their first World series - she got to live long enough to see them win two more.
There is no one alive now when the Cubs won their first World Series (the term ''world war'' was unknown then).
And a fiction writer couldn't have described what actually happened.

Skol. or at least field goal. Vikes drove off a cliff and the defense showed a loser mentality last week against the run.

The one thing the champion defenses of the Ravens, Giants, Patriots, Bears and Bucs had that the Vikings haven't shown last two games is an almost psychotic acceptance of a suspect offense.

Blogger Stg58/Animal Mother November 06, 2016 1:03 PM

'The Titans. I did think they'd improve - I didn't think they'd be 4-4 right now. I thought they might make 4 wins, just not this soon'

There wasn't much reason to think Murray was going to be this good. There wasn't much reason to think that the staff would have them playing this well. There wasn't much reason to think that late 1990s ground and pound would work at all in the NFL.

The titans could end up being 8-8... and if they did... I would say this staff did an absolutely phenomenal job.

Football is a metaphor for war, strategy, personnel, planning, execution of a plan in the face of enemy contact and victory.

It is a training ground for all of the above.

not to mention a training ground for fitness, strength, perseverance, courage, focus, and attention to detail.

This is what I don't get. How can anyone bitch about someone like VD who's busting his butt day and night to inform and analyze.. for taking a break for a few hours on sunday to... to hell do what ever the crap he wants?

You have to recharge. you have to take some time to remind yourself what you're fighting for.

A few Cheeseheads coming for the game this afternoon.

Can't decide whether to go Dominos or to Papa's for the pizza. Then again, "No one out pizzas the Hut". Maybe even DiGiorno...'cuz obviously no one can tell!!

Eff it, probably go with hotdogs. Everyone likes hotdogs, right?

Eagles head coach Pederson twice calling terrible plays going for it on 4th down twice in this game. He became too conservative last week against the Cowboys, now he trying to make up for it; gave up 6 points already.

Franz you're 1/2 a day late; 1/2 a dollar short.

At least the NFL balanced the Sunday games this week - 4 'early' (noon CT) and 4 'late' (3pm CT).
They need to get rid of the Thrusday game - but they won't.
