No pardon for you

Hillary blames Obama for her loss. And the reason she didn't appear before her people the night of the election was because she couldn't stop crying:
Hillary Clinton "couldn't stop crying" once she learned of her loss to Donald Trump on Tuesday, best-selling conservative author Ed Klein told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.

"About 6:30 this morning she called an old friend," he began on "The Steve Malzberg Show" in an interview. "She was crying, inconsolably.

"She couldn't stop crying.

"Her friend said — her female friend from way, way, back — said that it was even hard to understand what she was saying, she was crying so hard.

"Eventually," he continued, "her friend said she could make out that she was blaming James Comey, the director of the FBI, for her loss — and this I don't understand exactly — and the president of the United States for not doing enough."

Klein said his source then asked further about President Barack Obama.

"She said: 'Well, she felt, Hillary felt, that the president could have stopped Comey a long time ago, because that's what [former President] Bill [Clinton] said."
She couldn't handle losing an election to Donald Trump. Imagine how she would have handled losing a war, or even just a battle, to Vladimir Putin.

This was the first thing that crossed my mind. The networks rejected calling the election for hours pending a graceful concession from Clinton. We'll never know if Clinton really called or if the Trump camp was just being polite when a low-level aide called to concede.

I love that Trump went to Washington today and told the press to get their own plane.

There would have been no quarter given, had Hillary won. It would be Mandate, mandate, mandate, even in a close race.

Run the first year hard. Push through immigration enforcement, field plans from the private sector to construct the wall outside the normal government bid process, renegotiate NAFTA, push through the Keystone pipeline.

I wonder, though, if he’ll keep Comey on board. I was recently reading The 48 Laws of Power. There’s clear precedent to keep the spared enemy close, creating a fierce partisan on your side. It would be a daring maneuver, but one that may pay off.

Good God. I knew she was unfit for office, but when I first saw the headline about her "crying inconsolably" I could hardly believe it. The poor, sweet thing.

In 2008 I was kind of hoping (after Ron Paul was washed out of the race) that Hillary would get it, so the country could get a good taste of feminism at the top. This time, though, the country did not have time to play around with it; the stakes were too high, and suddenly Trump offered real "Hope and Change".

So I've been hoping that the election would be seen also as a kind of referendum on feminism, and Hillary is certainly cooperating. "Crying inconsolably." Perfect.

Not at all. Heck, as soft as George W. Bush was, we got the same thing in 2000. Because of the closeness of the race and all the fighting over it, the Narrative was that he should govern from the center with a lot of cooperation with Democrats. Which he did, not that they ever gave him any credit for it.

Bill Clinton got 43% of the vote in 1992 and they called it a "Mandate for Change." They've got nothing here; it's just grasping. All he has to do is ignore it and stay on plan.

I am a little worried about his transition team. Christie is more establishment than not. There are rumors that he is recruiting people from the Romney campaign and Bush Admin. (You know, the people who were stabbing him in the back last week) If those turn out to be true Trump could be hobbled before he ever steps foot in office.

Well, they aren't unexpected by me. Of course the press and everybody else is going to immediately explain to him that despite winning, it's still important that he do what they want.

I mean, they do it because it has historically worked.

I don't think it will work this time. Trump knows exactly where he has the press right now, and that's defeated. He doesn't need them, and he knows it.

I expect we'll all take a bit of a break now, but the hunt will probably resume shortly. /pol/ and /r/the_donald were just getting into the pedophile hunt, and while I don't know that they've found fire yet they've found a lot of billowing smoke. Oh, and it's easy to forget under the election news, but whatever the FBI had, they probably still have, and I'm going to hazard a guess that it will be borderline impossible to get all the evidence destroyed now that the rank and file know what's going to happen in two months. I heard rumors of forced retirements being handed out, but that's reversible in two months too. And destruction may not be possible at all; we still don't know that Wikileaks doesn't have all of them. That may not hold up in a court of law, but it would probably be enough to get warrants for things that will for motivated law enforcement.

Maybe she didn't concede "on the night of" because the call came at 3:00 AM, and once again she didn't know what to do. Bullet dodged.

After the "Commander-in-Chief" confab with Matt Lauer, Hillary was said to be extremely pissed and on the warpath, right there in front of stunned television crews who leaked out what she said. Supposedly, she said to her staff: "If that fucking bastard wins, we all hang from nooses! And if I lose it's all on your heads for screwing this up." (among other colorful things).

She does know the jig is up (and she denies responsibility for it all, of course!)

Anonymous Greg Nikolic November 10, 2016 2:54 PM

Way back in winter 2015, I made the prediction not only that Trump would win, but he would win by 58% — a landslide.

The actual numbers were very close to 50-50% Trump versus Clinton.

I stand by my original estimate. Trump was a highly telegenic figure, fascinating, interesting — presidential in appearance (firm and handsome and tall), unique in his background (business, Manhattanite, reality TV star). His opponent was an old lady of ugly appearance and even worse personality. She had all the essence of a dead turd on the sidewalk.

So where did that missing 8% go?

The media zapped it.

Blogger Arthur Isaac November 10, 2016 3:39 PM

Hillary Rodan Robot Clinton was supposed to win in 2008. It was "her turn". The DNCe went Choom Gangnum Style instead, and she's got to have been steaming since then. This was supposed to be "her turn" for real, with a dud like Please Clap to beat up on.

Plus she ran the best campaign the 1990's had to offer.

Crying? Maybe. More likely heavily sedated.

Blogger B.J. November 10, 2016 3:45 PM

Had anyone checked on Comey in awhile? I'd get some bodyguards if I were him.

Anonymous A Deplorable Paradigm Is More Than Twenty Cents November 10, 2016 3:46 PM

@98
"That's a decision to be made next year" is all he needs to say.
Then replace Comey right after being sworn in.

Blogger Thucydides November 10, 2016 3:52 PM

Why the hell did she think, even for a second, that Barrack Obama would lift finger for her to stop Coney or anything else. His only concern is for Barrack Obama, and since he can grant or withhold the pardon, he literally has the power of life or death over the Clintons.

Letting them dangle over the edge is probably the most fun he has had in 8 years, and certainly great payback against the Clintons for starting the "Birther" nonsense in the first place.

Anonymous Longtime Lurker November 10, 2016 4:01 PM

If the Clintons have dirt on Obama, then Obama will likely to sign that pardon toute suite. And he will justify said pardon in terms of national healing/no witch hunts.

There is a business near my house that displays a bible verse under its business sign. I noticed today that it has changed from the verse that had been on display for several weeks to:

"Be silent and know that I am God."

Quite apt.

I'm OK with pardoning a former President like when Ford pardoned Nixon or when Congress refused to punish Bill Clinton after his impeachment - but hillary clinton was NOT a chief executive. She should swing..

Blogger Mocheirge November 10, 2016 4:17 PM

What are the chances that Scott Adams's original defense of Comey is correct, and Comey was playing a balancing game of trying not to interfere in the election and maintain (some amount of) credibility for the FBI? If that's the case, then he might actually have been encouraging FBI/police to keep building the case for a near-future case post-election.

Blogger LonestarWhacko November 10, 2016 4:30 PM

I'm of the opinion that Clinton was too violent to speak to that night. She has a real nasty rep about that. Throw in some Gin on top of her meds......hmmmmm.....whacked out?

Blogger Stephen St. Onge November 10, 2016 4:40 PM

The reports of crying don't surprise me. Here she was, watching her life's ambition end. And she was beaten by someone she couldn't imagine beating her.

She put up with Bill all these years, to get a footnote in history: first major-party female nominee for Pres.

I'd say we should show some compassion, but I'm too tired to joke. Gloat, jeer, and laugh.

Blogger James Dixon November 10, 2016 4:43 PM

I've been wondering that for some time. Remember that Comey had to know there was no way the DOJ would actually prosecute her. So what was the point of pursing the matter? Yet he made it clear in his speech that Clinton was guilty as hell, and even reopened the investigation just when it would hurt her the most.

Accidentally or deliberately Comey damaged Hillary a lot with his in and out stuff because it drew attention to the problem. It is okay with me if there is a movement to get rid of him, but I would not put much political capital into it, mainly because I think he will be a go along get along guy with Trump if that is what Trump wants.

Even when crying she cant help lying. Leftists have no fear of Comey, its WikiLeaks that threatens them. They believed whatever problems the FBI investigations might pose to her can be defused once she’s president. Comey can be gotten rid of, efforts to appoint special prosecutors can be thwarted, Loretta Lynch atop the Justice Department, or friends planted in the right positions, can smother any prosecutions. They believe raw political power trumps the rule of law, and always have believed so. But what they fear is what WikiLeaks can do to the Democratic Party. They fear what the release of candid, thought-to-be private communications between Hillary and Podesta could set loose

Not at all. Heck, as soft as George W. Bush was, we got the same thing in 2000.

Even Holder said in 2012 if PA's voter ID law was not done away with Obama would lose, PA's voter ID law was suppressed again this year.

she would have handled losing a war, or even just a battle, to Vladimir Putin...what makes you think she'd shed a tear?

No Tears for white men dying, she will be singing "Onward Christian Soldiers"

I made the prediction not only that Trump would win, but he would win by 58% — a landslide... where did the missing 8% go

She had planned for that moment her entire life. She had built an entire infrastructure legal and illegal to make sure it happens and she was thwarted twice by her political inferiors. Her entire life was a waste now.

Heck, she probably would have divorced Bill the first time he had an affair (which was probably with a bridesmaid on their wedding night), if they'd just been ordinary people living in a suburb somewhere. She stuck with him all those years, smiling, changing her name when she clearly hadn't intended to, making cookies, covering up for him, being the brains behind the man, all to get through to the other side so she could get real power for herself. Then her own party hits her with Obama, and then America hits her with Trump.

I might feel sorry for her if I could stop laughing so hard.

I like to think she has God to blame. I hope it's because God had mercy on this nation and spared us from her. And I figured she couldn't give her concession speech until Wednesday afternoon, and had to have Pedosta talk to her campaign, is because she was drunk or drugged.

Anonymous Andy November 10, 2016 6:29 PM

I'm beginning to think that Comey played a very good game. If he had charged her and she lost, she could have admitted a lesser crime and Obummer would have pardoned her. If she was charged and she won, she would have squashed Comey.

She lost and they can re-open the investigation in January......give Huma time to realize she is no longer protected and needs a way out.

Blogger Cloudbuster November 10, 2016 6:37 PM

You know, I almost feel a little pity for Hillary just for the fact that the best friend she could call to confide in at one of the lowest points in her life was the kind of person who would blab to the press about a very private, intimate call. Maybe it's Hillary's fault -- because vipers surround themselves with vipers -- but that "friend" is a real ass.

The Clintons are playing the public again. The Clintons make every move after considering the political ramifications. In the fifty some years that Clintons have been in public life, no close friend of the Clintons has made such a revelation. The Clintons have distanced themselves from Obama to have room to maneuver under a Trump administration. Hillary has positioned herself as a victim of Obama. The sob story is to evoke public sympathy in case she is charged with a crime.
