Now who's seeing Russians under the bed?

The Washington Post has gone completely off its rocker:
The flood of “fake news” this election season got support from a sophisticated Russian propaganda campaign that created and spread misleading articles online with the goal of punishing Democrat Hillary Clinton, helping Republican Donald Trump and undermining faith in American democracy, say independent researchers who tracked the operation.

Russia’s increasingly sophisticated propaganda machinery — including thousands of botnets, teams of paid human “trolls,” and networks of websites and social-media accounts — echoed and amplified right-wing sites across the Internet as they portrayed Clinton as a criminal hiding potentially fatal health problems and preparing to hand control of the nation to a shadowy cabal of global financiers. The effort also sought to heighten the appearance of international tensions and promote fear of looming hostilities with nuclear-armed Russia.

Two teams of independent researchers found that the Russians exploited American-made technology platforms to attack U.S. democracy at a particularly vulnerable moment, as an insurgent candidate harnessed a wide range of grievances to claim the White House. The sophistication of the Russian tactics may complicate efforts by Facebook and Google to crack down on “fake news,” as they have vowed to do after widespread complaints about the problem.
Guess what is the top Russian propaganda site?

The Drudge Report.

Keep in mind, this is the same Washington Post that insists the Cheese Pizza crowd around Hillary Clinton is merely a collection of obsessive enthusiasts of Italian cuisine and ping pong with ghastly taste in modern art, not a weird and creepy pedophile cult.

"And yet this works on 80% of the public, which is why they keep doing it."

I don't think it does. This is just the new version of the same thing that always happens when the Left loses. They go scrambling for anything to explain why they lost that doesn't involve their ideas or ideology or policies being rejected.

Being rabbit people they simply cannot handle rejection... so they dream up ways to explain the loss while avoiding rejection.

This time... its "fake news".

This is a savage takedown by Glenn Greenwald.

PropOrNot is by no means a neutral observer. It actively calls on Congress and the White House to work “with our European allies to disconnect Russia from the SWIFT financial transaction system, effective immediately and lasting for at least one year, as an appropriate response to Russian manipulation of the election.”

In other words, this blacklisting group of anonymous cowards – putative experts in the pages of The Washington Post – are actively pushing for Western governments to take punitive measures against the Russian government, and are speaking and smearing from an extreme ideological framework that the Post concealed from its readers.

Fortunately whatever plans, SCOTUS manipulations, and hate crimes the left had in mind to twist the First Amendment were trashed by the election of the God Emperor.

I love it. The media that got the story wrong for the last 18 months is trying to attack the credibility of he platforms that got it right. Let's see how that works out. Increasingly, the MSM is just the plaything for agenda driven oligarchs like Bezos and Slim. We need to keep pushing this narrative.

The traditional gatekeepers of information dissemination are freaking out that their 'ministry of truth' sobriquet is being stripped away right before their eyes. They simply can't grok the fact that they are not the only ones entitled to freedom of the press protections. The alt-media is an emerging consortium and is rapidly growing more cohesive and interconnected.

There are a few new folks on YouTube and elsewhere, I'm keeping an eye on, who are demonstrating a relentless degree of prolific dedication to becoming viable alternatives to the lame stream media. They're getting better at it all the time and I suspect some of them will be able to successfully monetize their efforts without selling out. As I live in a very purple area, it is interesting to see the reactions of the left. I had one guy, who saw I had Drudge on my phone, tell me that news should be regulated and only from approved sources. When I brought up the First Amendment,he said that "there are things more important than that!" and called me a Russian spy.

When I brought up that the Russians were socialist, he went off about how they "betrayed" the faith. I stopped then, as the HR lady was radiating Crazy (her husband voted for Trump, and I expect a separation soon).

There will be push to censor news. Which will be rather difficult.

People always prefer to deny the "craziest" theories about what's going on. There's comfort, especially for people weary of taking shots for being off the left-wing plantation, in saying, "Well, at least I'm not as crazy as those people that believe that."

Your friends may scoff at the most bizarre Pizzagate revelations, but don't think that means it didn't affect them. If they just got a glimpse of the Podestas' taste in art, it mattered. If they were already likely Trump voters, it may have made them a bit more certain, a bit more likely to endorse him to others.

After more than a year of daily media preaching that a vote for Trump would be a hate crime, over 60 million people did it anyway, including millions of working-class whites in the heartland. They voted for him because they didn't buy the media lies, to the point that they were willing to give the media an excuse to lie about them as well.

according to Hillary, espionage is an 'act of war'. the USA hacked Angela Merkel's private phone. according to Hillary, Germany is justified in declaring war against the US.

according to Hillary, Russia is the greatest evil in the world today, devoted to throwing the US election to Donald Trump. but Hillary personally authorized the sale of domestic US uranium mining assets to Putin in a pay-for-play scheme.

according to Hillary, @RealDonaldTrump is an agent of Communism. Red China now has a space program. because Bill and Hillary authorized the sale of US space tech to the Communists when Bill was president. compare and contrast: in the Hillaryverse, @RealDonaldTrump has been a Communist agent for ~1 year, Bill and Hillary have been Communist agents for +20 years. vote for the one with more experience?

according to Hillary, Donald Trump is aged and decrepit and not physically suited to the rigorous demands of the office. at the same time that Donald J. Trump is flying all over the country doing multiple rallies every day ... while Hillary isn't seen in public for weeks at a time and, when she does emerge into the sunlight, promptly collapses at the 9-11 memorial.

et cetera, ad nauseum.

practically EVERY aspect of the campaign season worked this way; ie - every critique that Hillary leveled at Trump was more applicable to herself.

You speak great truth. The communists truly get off scot free in history, too. The constant mayhem in the 1920s and 1930s in Europe due to communists goes unreported also. The bias is still there that turned the MSM into a 24/7 Hillary Clinton campaign commercial and where they never fact checked the accusations and spent forever on a 10 year old tape and ignored WikiLeaks.

Now that their abandonment of the pretense to cover actual news and just spin everything is so obvious no one can deny it, they have deceived themselves and are pretending "everyone else" is the fake-news.

The latest, Richard Spencer said that the GOP political consultants were soulless golems. Somehow CNN changed that to "jews are subhuman", and that echoed throughout the MSM echo chamber.

They burned down their credibility during the campaign.

They are scattering the ashes to the wind during the transition.

By the time the Inaugural Ball is over, they should be reporting on Bat Boy and Space Aliens attending to try to convince Trump on Global Warming or somesuch. Meanwhile they won't notice they will have fewer views than Cernovich, Molyneux, Infowars, etc. that actually will be reporting real news live and without spin. They won't even bother countering the nonsense as no one will believe it anyway.

When there were real cases of foreign penetration into our politics, for example, Harry Dexter White working for the Soviets:

Democrats didn't take it seriously. But now Democrats are making baseless accusations of Russian influence.

I have noticed that the obama administration is trying to put a stop to this recount non-sense. I suspect that there was considerable voter fraud, all on the part of the Democrats (illegal immigrants voting, dead people voting, etc.) with much of it in California and Illinois. Any recount efforts will open the door to investigation of this fraud and make the Democrats look even worse than they do now. Unlike the narcissistic bitch, who treated the Democratic party as her personal empire for 16 years, Obama actually wants to save the party. So, he is trying to keep a lid on all of this.

The voter fraud apparently was quite extensive. My understanding is that something like 3 million illegal immigrants voted, mostly in CA. There were lots of dead people "voting" as well. But it wasn't enough to put Hillary over the top.

@90, yes. The 2000 Florida recount didn't reflect very well on Democrats, as they tried to block military absentee ballots on a technicality, and hundreds of votes for Gore were placed in the names of felons. On top of the fact that the central scandal of the campaign was that their own voters couldn't read a ballot. Sixteen years later, with the Old Media far less able to control the news, it could get embarrassing for them in a hurry.

It's interesting that this was started by Stein, after the Clinton campaign showed all signs of having conceded. Stein isn't necessarily doing this for Hillary; she could be trying to stir up trouble for both major parties, and taking a nice profit off the top in the meantime.

I find it interesting that the Left is pushing this narrative of the crazy evil controlling Russians after spending decades trying to transform red communist governments like the former USSR in to misunderstood utopian ideals we should aspire to emulate. Now most of their adherents are too stupid to make the mental leap to the new narrative because of the Left's overly successful indoctrination campaign. Meanwhile the Right has steadily been feeding on a diet of redpills that showed us that the American msm was more of a propaganda machine than anything the soviets ever possessed. The Left created a strategy for themselves that had multiple paths to defeat instead of success.

Remember, Russia is actively, any moment now, just around the corner, expediently, getting ready to swallow up, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, for almost 2 years now.

Meanwhile: NATO condemns Russia's 'aggressive' military buildup near the Baltics - in response to US-NATO aggressive military buildup in the Baltics on Russia's borders.

They have been intentionally poking the Bear, moving US-NATO forces right on Russia's border. Pre-staging heavy and light armor, Artillery, Air-Land-Sea Missiles of various kinds, clearing whole swathes of forest and creating forward airbases, live fire exercises on Russia's border, and etc. And then, when Russia makes so much as a peep, US-NATO yells paranoia, and it's all for peace. And then condemns Russia for moving its own forces, inside its own borders, on the border.

And yes, you can makes this stuff up, because US-NATO is making this stuff up.

And speaking of Pussy Riot, the Western powers only gave you the sweet version. If you do some research on Pussy Riot, you will find just how generate and disgusting they really are. SEC. 303. Assessment of potential effectiveness of and requirements for the establishment of safe zones or a no-fly zone in Syria.

(B) the impact a no-fly zone in Syria would have on humanitarian and counterterrorism efforts in Syria and the surrounding region; and

(C) the potential for force contributions from other countries to establish a no-fly zone in Syria; and

(2) assesses the potential effectiveness, risks, and operational requirements for the establishment of one or more safe zones in Syria for internally displaced persons or for the facilitation of humanitarian assistance, including—

(A) the operational and legal requirements for United States and coalition forces to establish one or more safe zones in Syria;

(B) the impact one or more safe zones in Syria would have on humanitarian and counterterrorism efforts in Syria and the surrounding region; and

(C) the potential for contributions from other countries and vetted non-state actor partners to establish and maintain one or more safe zones in Syria.

Of course, they are doing no such thing in Mosul. If you are a civilian, and a child in Mosul, tough luck. While, at the same time, everything between Mosul and the Syrian border, is a non-combat zone, left wide open for ISIS to escape into Syria, where they magically become our "moderate" Islamic Jihad Sunni/Wahhabi 4 "freedom" fighters. Anyone with a couple of brain-cells to rub together, would know this has nothing to do with "the children", and everything to do with giving the "moderate" Islamic Jihad Sunni/Wahhabi 4 "freedom" terrorists a respite from the effectiveness of aerial annihilation.

Glen Greenwald on the sinister Propornot cowards.

"In casting the group behind this website as “experts,” the Post described PropOrNot simply as “a nonpartisan collection of researchers with foreign policy, military and technology backgrounds.” Not one individual at the organization is named. The executive director is quoted, but only on the condition of anonymity, which the Post said it was providing the group “to avoid being targeted by Russia’s legions of skilled hackers.”

In other words, the individuals behind this newly created group are publicly branding journalists and news outlets as tools of Russian propaganda – even calling on the FBI to investigate them for espionage – while cowardly hiding their own identities. The group promoted by the Post thus embodies the toxic essence of Joseph McCarthy but without the courage to attach their names to their blacklist. Echoing the Wisconsin Senator, the group refers to its lengthy collection of sites spouting Russian propaganda as “The List.”

My current suspicion: the whole 'Russia hacked the election' thing is just cover for the recounts being proposed in PA, WI, and MI, which will, if it goes according to plan, swing through fraud.

Saying you want to recount three states that made a solid decision would be delusional.
Saying you want to recount three states because there is a statistical 'justification' for it (which was provided by the news reports of different voting patterns for electronic vs paper ballots) and there is a viable reason to suspect fraud (i.e. the Russian connection) isn't delusional-or, at least, its defensible. Once that viable reason is established: insert fraudulent paper ballots and win the recount.

In other words, I suspect the whole thing is an attempt at a coup-by the Democratic Party, their sympathizers in the media, and the 'scientists' who argue for the statistical argument.

Also, it is necessary to justify the continued existence of Nato, which passed its best-before date 27 years ago.

Was NATO ever really useful? It encouraged the Europeans to believe they'd never have to defend themselves again since the US would do it for them. It turned them into US satellites.

NATO was good for the US. It established complete US dominance over Europe. It was a disaster for Europe. Now it's a disaster for the US as well. NATO must die.

They are correct in how Russia performs "Information Ops" against the West, and how and why these exploits support Russian Hybrid Warfare Doctrine. They just have the target wrong.

Hillary Clinton was massively compromised by the classified information the FSB and up to five other intelligence services extracted from her unsecured server. She was massively open to bribery and influence peddling through the actions of the Clinton Foundation. She had funnelled billions of dollars to Russia's "Silicon Valley", and even provided Russian business the ability to purchase control of 20% of America's Uranium. Who do you think Vladimir Putin would have wanted as President, a fellow Alpha male who was going to look after American interests or a deeply compromised candidate who could be controlled through blackmail and intimidation?

A child could recognize that Russian roots were tangled within the European roots of my own heritage.
