Making a difference

Just in case those of you who are Brainstormers, Original Galaxians, Burn Unit, or Infogalactic supporters ever doubt that you are, in fact, making a difference. Someone posted this today on Gab:

Major Tom @MajorTom
In Hong Kong on the MTR right now and the local guy standing next to me has @infogalactic open on his phone.

How cool is that? These are challenging times, to be sure, but even so, it is an exciting time to be alive!

Speaking of Brainstorm, we're doing a belated November session on Monday night at 7 PM. Closed event, lots to discuss. Invites will go out tomorrow.

How can I get an invite to a "Brainstorm"?

My question is, any Dread Ilk on here subscribed? Do you like it and find it worthwhile? It's a bit of an investment, though I am certainly interested in the content.

Blogger VD December 02, 2016 2:05 PM

If you're not already signed up for Brainstorm, don't before this next one. I'm contemplating some changes I want to discuss with the existing crew.

Blogger L' Aristokrato December 02, 2016 2:10 PM

I haven't used Wikipedia since IG has been up.
We should use and encourage others to use every alternative avbailable to the 'mainstream', converged venues.

You knew it would appear sooner or later:

Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on!

I've contemplated signing up beforr but then Webinar stopped working on WinXP and I could only listen by phone. Now I'm on a Win10 machine but I've noticed frequent connection issues on the handful of open brainstorms I've participated in online. I'm left wondering how your interviews with Molynuex and others are crystal clear and never have connection issues unless that's all been edited out? Any sign of improvement in this area with Webinar?

It's all been edited out. The technology still has some ways to go.

If Twitter follows through with their threat to ban the God Emperor, Gab will crush Twitter within weeks. WP are not the sort of people that will take any warning from that. They will keep converging until their irrelevance is apparent to everyone but the True Believers of the left.

I did a search for something (I forget what) on DuckDuckGo yesterday, and an InfoGalactic link came up on the first page, ahead of any Wikipedia links. It's possible that DDG has picked up on my Infogalactic preference somehow and is promoting it in my results, but I was still impressed.

Fill your bucket with libtard tears from this article at HuffPo, how a Rodan Clinton fundraiser wound up in the psych ward on election night. Also feast your eyes on his gayface. Plus the article comes with a trigger warning regarding mention of suicide. It's not the Onion, either, it's a real story at a fake news site.

I seemed to be the only garden variety anxious-depressive in the ward, and was probably the only one gainfully employed, certainly the sole Ivy League grad. As far as I could estimate, most of the two dozen or so other men and women were homeless or unstably housed and largely suffered from psychosis.

Never before have I seen an election where losers checked themselves into psych units. It's LuLz to the nth power, far beyond the campus hugboxes.

Trump 2016 for the LOLZ!

I am running into more and more people in the wild who are up on Red Pill/Alt-Right ideas every month. Our ideas ARE spreading, and they ARE having an impact on the mainstream.

Blogger Matthew December 02, 2016 3:35 PM

OT warning to you turkeys using ridiculously long commenter names that mess up the comment layout:

You'd better stop before I find time to punish you in ingenious ways. My first idea is to convert all overlong names to "BOB K MANDO".

Blogger Paul R December 02, 2016 3:37 PM

VD already made a post about this awhile back, but in case you missed it (as I did), there is a browser extension that you can easily install that redirects wikipedia links to the like infogalactic page. You have to load the extension into your browser. It's called infosextant. I just loaded it and it seems to work fine.

I have a T-shirt, but on the note of swag, are there any bumper stickers? I have an all black Mad Mad styled car on the back of which I have space for a bumper sticker. In the past I put some "memetic" sticker there before and taken the car to car shows around Seattle. I would hang around and occasional hear the huffing and puffing of an attendee getting meme'd.

An all-white Infogalactic sticker like the T-Shirt would stand out proudly. Where can I haz?

How do long names mess up comments?

I'm pretty sure that my good friend butt kek manhole has been doing that on purpose lately.

Soros saboteur- How can I get an invite to a "Brainstorm"?

You have to send a wire transfer of $20,000 to Vox to prove your bona fides.

Anonymous Anonymous December 02, 2016 7:18 PM

I want into these brainstorms. the_Donald is going to going to lash out against Reddit which will result in a complete ban. These people need to be brought to Gab. If Gab were opened right now, it would be branded as a hole for "nazis" and the alt-right. I'm not without experience in the industry:

More importantly I became well acquainted with the world of tech startups. The flow of money to these children who seek to disrupt every institution in the country needs to be diverted.

@15 Paul R, Thank you SO MUCH for that backlink! Installed immediately and working 5x5.

@12 An Ex...yadda-yadda-yadda, I read that whole thing today and was almost sympathetic except... well, he's a Lying Liberal Loser, and probably made up half of that "loada crappola".

InfoGalactic is going to crush Wikipedia. Consciously or otherwise, everyone is tired of having leftist ideology shoved down their throats when all they want is the straight scoop. The instant they know there's a viable alternative, especially one that has been forked off of Wiki and improved, they will run, not walk, to use it. Wikipedia is going to be left in the dustbin of history, with the editors simultaneously doubling down and scratching their collective heads.

Push the product, just don't refer to it as "InfoGal"...

Anonymous Anonymous December 02, 2016 9:29 PM

@32 When you wear an Infogalactic shirt and someone asks you what it is, look at your audience before you respond. If you are in Alabama and you have determined the person is a Trump supporter or a lukewarm conservative: "Wikipedia is an online dictionary that the Democratic party edits/maintains. Part of the reason so many young people are being drawn to socialist ideas is because they view Wikipedia as a source of truth. Infogalactic is a neutral dictionary and the community ensures that it remains so."

No random Wikipedia user is going to run to Infogalactic on their own. Every time you see Wikipedia referenced, challenge that person with an article on Infogalactic. If it doesn't exist, create the article and make sure it is of higher quality than the same article on Wikipedia. Do not be passive.

It's been a long time since I've seen you have any fun.

Blogger wreckage December 04, 2016 4:51 AM

Right now I am using infogalactic because Wikipedia is using the most obnoxious and fucking evil pop-up ads I have ever seen.

I have seen online poker-machine ads that were more tasteful and less obtrusive. I have had malware that was less annoying.
