News and your top sites

We're going to be introducing a Daily News feature at Infogalactic before the end of the year, as a number of people have requested it. It's going to be a Drudge Report-style affair, updated twice daily, with nothing but text and a link to a relevant Infogalactic page for each story. We're going to limit it to 11 reports about international current events, so you'll still need to go to Drudge for "Body found behind WALMART missing head, genitals..." and "The Gender-Fluid Performer Who Changed Academy's Mind..."

This is another step towards breaking people's dependence upon the Fake News. We're also going to kick it off with 36 site links to the sites Infogalactic readers most often read. Obviously, VP will be one of them. AG will not. Instapundit and the Unz Review are obvious choices. I look on the list of Drudge columnists and I see precisely four names I'd even be willing to consider. What are your top ten personal candidates for the other 35 links?

If you've got an opinion, please provide your list of most-wanted sites in the comments. Keep in mind that they should be sites with daily, or near-daily, content. We will not include sites that post less frequently than 3-4 times per week. And if you're a supporter or an OG, it should please you to note that Infogalactic has already passed up this blog in terms of daily pageviews.

NRO.

I know they're rather unpopular around these parts, but I still find some of their writers to be incisive. Also, it would be good to have the mouthpiece of the conservative movement included as a bellwether.

I read Ann Barnhardt regularly though she doesn't post daily and I know she's considered "extreme", but for a cold bucket shower she's priceless when it comes to the state of the Catholic Church and Catholic doctrine.
She exposes Churchianity Ina way that no one else quite does as well, and Churchianity in my opinion is the most vile, dangerous and pernicious of the evils we face today.

I have to second the nomination for NRO, despite it being the home address for NeverTrump. To balance that, I'd suggest adding everyone who's ever been fired by the National Review: Mark Steyn, Ann Coulter, John Derbyshire, etc.

Blogger SteelPalm December 21, 2016 9:52 AM

Since you already mentioned this place and Unz Review, then in no particular order,

1. Breitbart
2. VDare
3. Taki Mag
4. AmRen
5. SBPDL (Stuff Black People Don't Like)
6. FrontPageMag

and for a bit of a wild card

7. Daily Mail (always shocked by how much more information and photos they have of US events than any US Fake News outlet does, even if they're partly a gossip rag and moderately leftist)

My list... in no order

1. Pat Buchanan's Blog
2. IPE (Paul Craig Roberts, Institute for Political Economy)
3. WND, Ann Coulter
4. Alex Jones, Infowars, any of his writers/broadcasters – I’ve noticed Paul Joseph Watson is popular here in VD Land.
5. Vdare.com & any of their writers
6. Colonel Reed (fredoneverything.org) though maybe this would be more for a style or culture section?
7. Milo Y. (though he’s not one of my favorites he seems to be popular here)
8. Breitbart and any of their writers.
9. Natural News & and any of their writers (naturalnews.com) – I STRONGLY recommend this page.
10. Chuck Baldwin Live (chuckbaldwinlive.com) and/or any of his columns
11. WND, Michelle Malkin (Just kidding)

Note that I DO NOT endorse Arab Joe and many of his writers on WND. Though in the grand scheme of things he's still much better than any Fake News people or sites.

The Other McCain is good also. Legal Insurrection wouldn't be bad, although I haven't checked it daily for a while now.

They're now saying NEVER! was only applicable through the election and they're ready to work with Trump and worm their way back in to keep the money flowing. This is how you end up with anti-Reaganites like Krauthammer and Will sticking around forever. Spit them out.

So, linking to Coulter via WND is good if WND itself is fine, but you could fall back to her personal domain if WND wasn't.

is this even a good idea

the political side of it is exactly what will stop your efforts to overthrow Wikipedia; people don't want a -conservative alternative-, they want something good. If the head can clearly be seen to be pushing a certain narrative and is already quite political, then it's easy for people to muddy the waters and drive away traffic.

On the informational end, why bother writing up your own page if the articles are already searchable via Google? If you want to do write-ups of big events, fair enough, but I don't see why you need to push certain sites - except, again, to push your own counter-narrative. Maybe when you get big, and when the mainstream media is no longer looking to jump on conservatives, you could theoretically get away with it like Wikipedia has done (still a bad idea mind), but in the here and now?

We're delivering something that will not only exceed expectations, it will exceed what people believe to be possible.

During the week of Cecil The Lion coverage a Mexican was caught on video tossing the body of Maddie Middleton the 8yo white girl into a dumpster after he raped her to death, but (((media))) ignored that local San Fran story, just like they did the black moslem serial killer of gays in 3 states caught in 2015.

Well, looks like Wikipedia defeats another competitor. Best of luck to you, and I'm not trying to demoralize anyone, but you've made a terrible mistake and it'll fuck you over. Peace!

Yes, I'm very concerned about the opinion of a moron who can't even find his own comment.

You weren't banned before, but you are now. Don't come back.

It's amazing how fast Gammas reveal themselves. Clearly the fate of the competition between Infogalactic and Wikipedia hangs on how one irrelevant gamma is treated at an unrelated blog.

Gammas, if you want to know why people hate you, this sort of thing is why.

A lot of good suggestions, but it's disappointing to see (((NRO))) even mentioned as a possibility. (((Pamela Geller))) is a problem, too. Not everyone who's anti-Muslim is pro-West. Hers is more of an extreme neocon position, really. There's "Invade the world, invite the world," then there's "Rile them up once they get here." That last is Geller's job.

Theconservativetreehouse.com,
Vdare.com,
Zerohedge.com,
and parts of Takimag.com (mostly Jim Goad, Pat Buchanan, and Steve Sailer) are a good start.
Info wars has some good stuff, but it's obviously mixed with some crazy sh!t, which is a problem as far as credibility for sharing or citing. Alex does seem to have gotten a little better since his divorce, though.
Breitbart is OK on a lot of things if you adjust for Israel worship.

Daily Mail is good mostly for coverage of vibrantly diverse US crime. Otherwise, it's celebrity crap and "muh holocaust!" stories.

The New Observer is good, especially for news of the invasion of Europe.

Therightstuff.biz is good for harder core stuff.
Not everyone gets Anglin's approach, so The Daily Stormer may not be a good choice, especially for people coming from a semi-mainstream perspective.

NO to NRO.
Geller and Gates of Vienna are HEAVILY philo-semitic and in many ways anti-pro-Whites, so I'd vote NO for Geller and possible for Gates of Vienna (more for their aggregate of European and world headlines).

New Observer is another MUST for European news.

Occidental Dissent has daily content, and although the comments vary wildly, the writer (Hunter Wallace/Brad Griffin) is solidly Alt-Right and pro-Southern.

I like The Right Stuff but they might be a bit much for newer normies. For a solid Alt-Lite site I'd second the recommendation of Gateway Pundit. For scanning daily headlines I utilize The Daily Mail Online, as well as Breitbart.

This should be a database of resources that lay on a spectrum.

Have a category for certain topics and arrange them based on how based they are.

People seem to not want TDS, not because those guys are fucking nuts, but because they dont want to scare the normies away.

If anyone has time, I'd recommend viewing Anarchy USA.

Blogger Sheila4g December 21, 2016 2:53 PM

If needed, yet another example of why NRO is an absolute waste of time for anyone who accepts the 16 points:

"The Republican party is the party of Lincoln; it’s the anti-slavery party. It’s the party of equal rights no matter your ethnicity, gender, or other category; it isn’t exclusionary, as Pistachio Girl seems to think it should be. …

Trump, and Republican leaders in general, need to remind everyone that the GOP is fighting for American fairness, for blind justice, for true equality. The real America isn’t found in some geographic locale far from America’s cities — it’s found in the essence of the Declaration of Independence and in the body of the U.S. Constitution and in the hearts and minds of anyone who understands and cherishes the freedom and prosperity, the American Dream, that this equality has unleashed."

To reconfirm - America == EQUALITY! (Oh Wild man, wherefore art thou?)

America == anyone who "cherishes freedom and prosperity" (Oh Sarah, you've been vindicated!)

Another point in favor of Occidental Dissent (where I found this gem) - Hunter/Brad reads all the GOPe and libtard crap so you don't have to.
