NFL Week 13

Not a bad showing by the Vikes, but this season is demonstrating, yet again, that 6-0 starts don't tend to end well for them.

What a heartbreaker last week. Maybe they can get Tony romo if he leaves Dallas.

Somehow I get a lot of Saints games out here. Their game against the Lions is the only early game airing here.

Blogger YIH December 04, 2016 1:39 PM

This pic is heartwarming. Football in the snow.
BTW, props to The Tide Nate, they made the Gators look like an early season cupcake.
Well Vox, start cheering for the Saints, because the Lions have to lose - and keep losing. The Vikes have to win the division with the better record, tie goes to the Lions.
BTW, This is interesting, Krapernig might void his contract. Sparklepunter should clue him in, get every penny you can get while you can.

I just noticed the 69'ers are playing the Teddy Bears :)

The Vikings did start the season undefeated after 6 weeks but one of those weeks was a bye. Since then they've now lost 6 of 7.

Passing yards 24th
Rushing yards 32nd
Total yards per game 31st

The 5-0 start was the anomaly; that 1st round pick they gave the Eagles looks better and better.

I don't think anybody wants him. When he can play, he is a good QB.
But that's been the problem, he's as durable as fine china. He can't make plays if he's not on the field.
Good luck for the Cowboys, they got a black QB in his first year. Next year, they'll have a hard time to win the division

13-6 Lions heading into half-time.

Yes I know, it's the way I follow the NFL these days.

Fair enough. I'm listening to the Lions-Saints on the local AM radio station. The kickers are doing well today.

The bucs are 7'th seed looking in on the Falcons who are currently losing to the Chiefs 27-16 w about 2 minutes to go in the third. Bucs play at four in San Diego. Those California trips are tough on East coast teams.

I'm glad for you. It can be frustrating to get the radio calls for the games these days - if you don't want to pay the NFL/Disney empire for them.

As a life-long Packers fan, I don't understand all the fuss about the Viqueens herein.

Anonymous logprof December 04, 2016 4:25 PM

For the late games, I get to choose between a better game, Giants-Steelers, with Joe Buck's Beard in low-def, or Raiders-Bills in high-def.

Hmmmm.

Of course you don't.
The cheeseheads ain't even at .500 right now and their odds of making the playoffs are even worse.

Raiders-Bills, the #1 seed vs. a team that's struggling to even make a wild card? The tech isn't the point.

OpenID simplytimothy December 04, 2016 5:09 PM

Fer pete's sake. I used to be able to listen to the games via the team website, but now it will not let me. They want over 75 freaking dollars to watch . Eff that.

Bradford is a .412 lifetime QB.

Just curious - why don't you get both networks in HD?

PS - Brady gets win #201. I'm not sure he gets ring #5 this year without Gronk, but we can always hope.

--I'm not sure why. It's Time-Warner or whatever they call themselves now. The cable is included with my rent, so I'm not going to cough up extra money just to have more HD channels.

Bucs up 17 14 on interception for a TD.

Anonymous antipater_1 December 04, 2016 6:46 PM

As I warned you Vox before week 1 - and as a lifelong Rams fan - put not your faith in Sam Bradford.
Bradford is a bum.

That would be vile and disgusting, if he had not backed Trump, which now makes it a glorious hope.

Bucs up by a touchdown. Fscking watching via the Game Center track tab is like listening via teletype. Bucs seem to be playing on the Chargers side of the field. criminy, where is the radio feed...grrrrr

Have the morons apologized for taking a knee during the anthem yet? Then why watch?

Maybe they were injured.

OpenID simplytimothy December 04, 2016 8:17 PM

@29 there is hope. On Gab.ai somebody posted a video about a high-school game in San Fran. "they" decided to not sing the National Anthem, but the crowd had none of it . They called back the opening kickoff because of the singing. So, ya, there is hope.

Anonymous Dave December 04, 2016 8:29 PM

@31 awesome hope somebody got video

@29 fuck off - there's 53 players a team plus coaches almost 2,000 individuals league-wide but we should all stop being fans due to the actions of a handful of idiot players (the ringleader was benched today)

6'th seed Bucs are inside looking out. http://www.nfl.com/playoffs/playoff-picture

Blogger Dave December 04, 2016 9:29 PM

Started telling people weeks ago to keep an eye on the Bucs. They're 7-5 same as Falcons split the season series. They both have easy schedule remaining so the division is up for grabs and a wildcard.

Blogger JaimeInTexas December 04, 2016 9:40 PM

Anthem yada yada yada yawn.

Anonymous Dave December 04, 2016 10:02 PM

@31 and #34 the story gets even better; here's the description from Tom Baldwin who shot the video:

Amador Varsity Football had a Nor Cal Bowl play in game against Lincoln High in San Francisco. As the game was about to start, the crowd realized their was no National anthem being played, which is traditionally the home team's responsibility. Also, there was no American flag flown at the stadium, just an empty flag[pole. The small town community, who drove over 130 miles to watch their team play, took matters into their own hands and sang the anthem loud and proud. it was magical!

Amador won the contest 45-20 and is one game away from playing for the state championship.

Oh pay no attention to how white the crowd is.

"The cheeseheads ain't even at .500 right now and their odds of making the playoffs are even worse."

Yeah, but the Badgers took first place in the Big Ten's Western Division with 7 conference wins. That's far better than the Golden Goofer's showing with only 5 wins. Not all is dismal in America's Dairyland.
