NFL Week 14

Jax should help the Vikes get back on track. If anything can... but this season does appear to be as lost as it did right after Teddy Bridgewater's injury.

Yeah the season is over for the Jaguars, but things ain't looking good for the Vikes. To win the division they have to run the table and the Lions go 1-3 (they get the Teddy Bears today) and hold off the Pack. Tall order.
Their odds of a wild card are better, but not by much.
The Heisman got awarded last night, Lamar Jackson and I went ''Who's that?''.
Yes, African QB, but someone will take him in the first round, just because he's got that statuette.
You'd think NFL teams would've learned by now, skip the Heisman guy, it usually doesn't work - especially QBs.
Case in point, Johnny Foosball, obviously watching his former team play.
And demonstrating why no one was interested after the Clowns ditched him.

Talking about a season lost, it's gotta hurt going from leading the AFC West to fighting for a wildcard spot.

Also, it's not so bad being a Cowboys fan this year.

Anonymous VFM #6306 December 11, 2016 12:52 PM

It is really too bad, because there is no reason the defense should have shirked when the offense dropped a level. But it did. I think losing Bridgewater and AD hurt the defense more psychologically than the offense. No reason why the Vikings shouldn't look like the Chiefs right now. Just couldn't make the adjustment.

At least the Packers should have a tough time against the Seahawks today. We have to be thankful for the little things.

Is it going to be Cowboys vs Ravens in the Superbowl?

Titans not getting any calls in the first half

Mariota has been awesome on third down today

I take it back. That offense of Minnie hates the end zone.

Anonymous VFM #6306 December 11, 2016 2:51 PM

Right now, RGIII has:

13 attempts
3 completions
1 INT
1 Sack

A QB rating of 7.5. Who does he think he is, Johnny Soccer?

Blogger Ben Cohen December 11, 2016 3:03 PM

How come the Vikings can't get a solid QB? Every year there's some big injury.

Blogger Dave December 11, 2016 3:24 PM

Mariota is very quietly putting together a solid second season all without any weapons at WR.

He's fourth in the league for TDs.
He's first for passing TD% (whatever that is)
He's fifth for passer rating, yards/pass attempt, and yards/pass completion.

Right now I guess either the Raiders or the Patriots.

Go cowboys!

Wasn't expecting that, the Titans holding on to beat Denver. And the Lions to just barely beat the Bears.
How bad are the Jets, down 14-0 to the Niners, early in the game - that's how bad.

Blogger James Dixon December 11, 2016 4:30 PM

> How bad are the Jets,

Terrible, and the worst of it is it's not due to lack of talent. They have some good players on that team.

Washington decided to play Mighty White again today.

Blogger Dave December 11, 2016 4:47 PM

Note to self; reserve praise for QB when he's not playing Denver Broncos. Marcus Mariota threw for only 88 yards in his worst game passing this season. He did become the first Titans quarterback with at least 3,000 yards passing in a season since Matt Hasselbeck in 2011.

Good news? Titans won and are tied with Houston at 7-6. Bad news? Their division record is 1-3 and Houstons is 4-0.

Ditto Broncs. Worst year ever.

Uh, not exactly, the Pack are at home and the Seahawks still haven't thawed out yet.

The Jets are my team, and while they have a few name players and a sprinkling of interesting developmental players, they have no quarterback, cornerbacks, outside pass rushers, or (young and durable) left tackles of note. The four most important positions, and the Jets are 0 for 4. It is extremely disheartening.

I would stick with Barkley and cut cutler!

Anonymous VFM #6306 December 11, 2016 8:52 PM

Sheeeeeattle!

Man I haven't seen Green Bay really, really, really hate a team like they hate Seattle since their fights with Dallas were relevant back in the 90s.

Hey VFM #6306, That Fail Mary game was the last straw for this Wisconsinite; I haven't turned on a TV since.

For those of you who still watch the NFL: what, exactly, is a catch?

Whatever the league needs a catch to be to maintain Goodell's chosen narrative.

Blogger James Dixon December 11, 2016 10:07 PM

> they have no quarterback

Well, none that are NFL starting level quality, no. They have two good backup quality quarterbacks. Geno may have the potential to be an adequate starter, but he'd need a good coach, which he's never had with the Jets.

Well, its kinda like fishing. You can get the fish on the hook, but have to get it in the boat. Meanwhile, your buddies are trying to grab it to throw it back, so until you club it to death and put it in a sack, it doesn't count.

Having turned off the tv after that, you probably did not see the Packer who had a short kickoff bounce off his helmet in the playoffs.. That was definitely NOT a catch. He is probably still in therapy. Usually anyone who starts therapy is still in therapy. It is the main reason I do not go into therapy.

Although, it sounds like you could benefit from therapy.

Let it go, dude.

Oops.

Whatever the Giants did, the rest of the NFL will copy.

Ben Cohen @11: "How come the Vikings can't get a solid QB? Every year there's some big injury."

Because their O-line isn't built to protect the quarterback -- it's built to open holes for AD. And since he is out, it isn't really good for much at all.

Anonymous WaterBoy December 12, 2016 1:59 AM

James Dixon @13: "Right now I guess either the Raiders or the Patriots."

Chiefs will knock the Raiders out, but will lose to New England.

Pats it is.

Tim @25: "For those of you who still watch the NFL: what, exactly, is a catch?"

Why do you care? You don't even watch, remember?

Cutler to the Browns?

Either way, he's done in Chicago.
