Spread the woke

Hannah in Arizona has a plan for her copy of SJWAL:
hannah_in_azon December 8, 2016
Format: Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book is so filled with wisdom that I am planning to leave my copy in the airport on the way home for Christmas for anybody else who wants it. Consider it my end of year non-tax-deductible donation to a good cause.
I suggest putting a note on it; otherwise I suspect people will simply assume you forgot it. It's sad, but true, that almost everyone needs SJWAL these days.

And speaking of wokeness, there are other ways to spread it. I am informed we have an Original Galaxian sighting on YouTube.

Duh. How very, very obvious. Subversive pamphleteering. Excellent idea.

Copies of SJWAL are not expensive and can be left in many public places. Not just airports but hotels, resorts, college campuses. Or traded at brick & mortar used bookstores. Just left here and there. My only excuse for not thinking of this is I have SJWAL on Kindle. It's not much of an excuse but it is the only one I've got.

Not too long ago, my high school aged son, a much more vociferous fan of Trump than even I, apparently ticked off an SJW and was reported to his home office for, among other things, supporting electro-shock therapy for gays (a lie).

I bought him SJWAL.

It's interesting how Trump has followed the SJWAL guidelines almost to a tee on pure instinct.

At the time, I did wonder if apologizing about the pussy gate recording was the right move, but the way he apologized was limited. And it did seem to work out. But I kinda wonder how it would have gone if he didn't apologize at all.

No kiddo, you're being an idiot again. If there was any slowdown, it'd probably because... the election finished. And I'm not seeing much of a slowdown either.

I mean most people around here aren't asskissers like you're used to, who post simply to say "Good job! So brave! Thanks for this!", so when something passes by we agree with... we don't say much.

But far be it from me to point out that Vox is not the entirety of the Alt-Right... moron.

Blogger JCclimber December 08, 2016 5:43 PM

One thing to keep in mind when doing this is that your odds of having the book tossed in the trash by the cleaning crews are pretty high.

I've done this in the past during business travel, and also watch to see how people interact with found things at the airport.

You might have better results to pick some business man who looks like he might be a delta solid engineering type or something, and just go up to him. Hand him the book, say "I just finished reading this and it's a GREAT book. But I have to lighten my load and wanted to give it to someone who looks successful. Bye!"

Blogger JCclimber December 08, 2016 5:46 PM

I've also noticed that the comments section has decreased about 5% from the peak all time highs right around the election time.

Because with the renewed vigor of the victory coursing through our veins, the 10,000s of readers of this blog are out there Making America Great Again.

Well, and some are so drunk on the sweet tears of despair being shed by the Clinton life-losers, they probably can't see straight to log into their computers.

What I've observed is that Vox posts more entries these days. He used to only put up a couple things a day, whereas now there are usually four or five posts. That's going to have a diluting effect, as the commenters spread their chit chat across multiple posts.

Also, topic popularity will ebb and flow as Vox's interests change over time. For example, he hasn't mentioned evolution in a while. Those posts tended to bring much lively conversation. Not every post will attract equal commentary. There are certain topics that stimulate discussion more than others.

But don't make the inferential mistake of using comment total as the best metric of blog health.

Blogger tuberman December 08, 2016 9:19 PM

My own little microcosm lights up some of the political universe in the USA. I play chess at a local MacDonalds, along with talking and drinking coffee with up to a dozen people range from a ten years younger then me to about ten years older. Most of these people have at least a decent IQ, with a couple being pretty sharp. I am 68 years old.

Most the people there at Micky Ds never read anything (beyond what they needed for work), so it's nearly impossible to get them to read even Breitbart. Almost all now have contempt for the MSM, yet they can't break the habit. I talked at least six fence sitters, who were not going to vote, into voting for Trump. As you know MacDonalds plays CNN constantly during all the hours the inside is open to the public, this, as well as airports, obviously is paid for by the government. People there who bother to watch, have a snearing attitude toward CNN, yet they are still influenced a little. One guy, who was a stong Trump supporter, said today that, "Pizzagate is 'fake news'". I answered, "Really, and you found this out, how? Oh, yeah, by watching CNN or MSNBC or such, and who really is the 'fake news'? Have they proven 'PizzaGate' is fake, I asked, or did they just state it as a fact?" He is not ready to see how far things have fallen, it is just too scary for people like him. Neurosis is usually the inability to look reality directly in the face when it is too ugly or fearful. If people like these, who know the partial truth are like this, how much more so the actual "snowflakes" who were and are Clinton supporters, and Globalists through severe neurosis (as opposed to the totally psychotic variations of full blown Feminists, Marxists, Money Globalists, and etc.)?

At a Senior Center where I can work out on cardio equipment for free, I even convinced a couple of self-described Feminists to withhold their votes for Hillary, as they really can "feel" how corrupt she is, but they still needed a little nudge. By October, they freely were talking her down without me pushing them. I had a weird effect on these women, as over a year I talked with them about Mentoring of children and young adults. I also talked to them about Roman written law and how it was developed, and how Common Law in England later came about, and how all of this differs from tribal laws, and other civilizations. I have a decent awareness of tribal and pre-literate peoples and how their world views are vastly different from all literate societies and not just Western Civilization (I snuck in my respect for Western Civilization under their radar, so we did not get into all the guilt absurdities all these people have about the West). These women were not full blown SJW though. These women thought all Trump supporters are stupid morons who simply are against all non-West, and non-White cultures, yet after talking to me for a full half year about other cultures and the West, and without disrespect by me for most other cultures, they still listen to me despite my pro-West stands.

I bought SJWAL in paperback shortly after it came out, and I talk about convergence and SJW to about half the people at MacDonalds and they are now aware of the terms and have a beginner's understanding of what SJWs means, as they can at least comprehend what I mean in context of when I talk to them about it. None of them could use these terms accurately on their own though.

I worked at the airport in Phoenix (Sky Harbor International) and I can tell you what will probably happen to it. There is a secret library back in the employees area of terminal 3 (I am not kidding.) All the books that are left behind on planes and in waiting areas that are picked up by the custodial staff are put there - there are book racks and the room is the size of a good size branch library with thousands of volumes. Airport employees can go in and grab a copy of whichever book they want - it's a small perk of the job.

The hotel chain Country Inn and Suites has a lending library as part of their layout. They keep books there you can take with you and return to any Country Inn and Suites later. There is no checkout or anything, you just take the book. I've seen at least one Best Western that also had a similar library. I'd recommend leaving the book in a place like that. You could also ask your local library if they would like a copy, but that's probably a lost cause.
