"These are Merkel's dead"

It's official. Angela Merkel is the worst German chancellor since Adolf Hitler:
Angela Merkel has faced a furious backlash over her open-doors policy on immigration after the deadly lorry attack on a Christmas market in the heart of Berlin. A 23-year-old Pakistani asylum seeker named as Naved B, who entered the country under a false name, murdered 12 and injured dozens gathered at the market last night.

German chancellor Merkel, 62, has come under huge political pressure for allowing nearly a million people fleeing conflict and poverty in the Middle East and Africa to arrive in the country this year and last. And last night she faced anger from the far-right anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party with prominent member Marcus Pretzell tweeting: 'When will the German state of law strike back? When will this cursed hypocrisy finally stop? These are Merkel's dead! #Nice #Berlin.'

Merkel has so far refused to amend her refugee policy, however, insisting that Germany can take in large numbers of migrants in the years to come. Allies and critics alike say she ignored the warning signs of calamity at her peril.

The rape and murder of a beautiful young student in the city of Freiburg in October by a 17-year-old migrant was bad for her. What happened in Berlin is a catastrophe and one which she may find difficult to survive.
Pretzell is right. Merkel is absolutely to blame for the 12 dead in Berlin. At least Hitler had the decency to shoot himself. Merkel not only hasn't resigned, the idiot woman seriously believes she deserves another term.

Aber Merkel muss weg!

And while "Europe's far-right anger is moving mainstream," the rise of the Nationalist Right has not reached its high-water mark. It hasn't even seriously begun yet. It won't have reached the high-water mark until the Reconquesta 2.0 is complete and Europe has been restored.
In the wake of the Brexit vote in Britain and the recent Italian referendum, and with national elections looming in 2017 in the Netherlands, France, and Germany, there is concern that Europe may be inundated by a populist wave, driven in large part by right-wing parties exploiting anti-globalization, anti-immigrant, and anti-Muslim sentiments. Indeed, the strategy seems to be working: Polls show that people who have a favorable view of the National Front (FN) in France, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) in Germany, and the Party for Freedom in the Netherlands tend to be more negative about immigrants, refugees, and Muslims than their fellow countrymen. In addition, they are more euro-skeptic and more wary of globalization than their compatriots....

The Dutch election is scheduled for March 2017. The French election will take place in April and May. The German election will likely be held in September. It is too early to know how their respective right-wing populist parties will fare. But based on current public opinion data, it seems that they have succeeded in rallying substantial numbers of potential voters, based on appeals to anti-immigrant, anti-EU, and anti-globalization sentiments. These views are not, for the most part, majority views among the general public. But significant minorities do share some of these opinions. But the impact of the rise of the right-wing populist parties can already be seen. Center-right politicians such as Merkel and Fillion have begun to espouse views that are more anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant than heard before by politicians in their elevated positions running for national office. Populist appeals are resonating with more and more voters in Europe. And the Brexit and U.S. election outcomes suggest we may not have yet seen the high water mark of this international tide.

At least Hitler had the decency to shoot himself.

It's the least Merkel can do, given her long list of murderous treason against Germany and Europe alike.

Of course, we know she doesn't have a shred of decency.

Look at the simplest of all arguments. How many cathedrals are there in Saudi Arabia?
It all you need to know.
Saudia represents a cultural genocide. Absolutism.

Secularism hasn't secured your future.

Jesus rose from the dead or didn't. A Quran and a Bible make absolutely mutually exclusive claims on everyone. No systematic jurisprudence can accommodate mutually exclusive claimants
- without finding against one or the other.
Neutrality is not a luxury you cash a cheque for.

Merkel is to blame but so are the majority of the German people who voted her into office and will likely vote to keep her there, knowing her position and likely policy. My sympathy will go out to the German people when they actually do something about this mess.

I agree. I don't know a lot of working-class Germans so my view of this is probably skewed, but I do know a lot of academic/college-educated Germans, and they have consistently argued that Germany needs to be a more tolerant and diverse country to overcome its evil/imperialist/oppressive/etc. past. If not today, then before the week is out we will see at least one public rally in support of the migrants and against "Islamophobic backlash." I have not a shred of doubt about that.

Blogger SteelPalm December 20, 2016 4:51 AM

I'm not an enormous expert on the sentiments in modern-day Netherlands, France, and Germany (although I have friends in all three countries), but it should be noted that they are far less freedom-loving and independent-minded than the citizens of Britain and the United States.

Victories for the respective nationalist parties in those countries are far from certain. Consider, for instance, that they didn't win in Austria, a more sane country than either Germany or France.

Of course, events like the Berlin jihadi massacre do increase their chances. And perhaps Vox is correct about the nationalist right being far from reaching its high-water mark.

I can see it going either way.

@3, @5

Agreed. The average university/college-educated German is angrily resistant to any argument positing i) Merkel must go for the survival of Germany, or ii) Muslims are incompatible with German culture. This resistance doesn't seem to me to bear much resemblance to the average liberal in the US who just wants to virtue signal; Germans appear to want to atone for the sins of their fathers and seem desperate to seen as good diversicationists. I'm no expert, and perhaps I'm wrong on this (happy to be educated), but I've listened dozens of times to Germans saying that 'everything will be okay with Islam in Germany'. When it's self evidently not okay, not now, and not ever.

And yes, the supportive rally is inevitable. I just got off the phone with a university-educated German who told me that the nation now needs to rally behind Muslims. I had to talk to my wife for five minutes to listen to someone sensible.

Astounding stuff. Germany has a long way to go before it reaches the point where Merkel is dispatched.

EU is established in order to avoid war.

War will come soon because the politicians won't admit that they are destroying Europe.

Anonymous Rien December 20, 2016 5:19 AM

Europe will follow the US. If the US stops muslim immigration, the EU will do the same.

In almost all european countries there are multiple political parties and only rarely will a single party get big enough to be the majority. Hence a political change like in the US is not possible (in the short term).

While the freedom and right wing parties will become very influential, they need the support of more middle-of-the-road parties to form majority coalitions. And these MOTR parties need a clear lead from the US to be able to accept anti-muslim policies.

Btw: This is probably why globalists keep the pressure on Trump in the media etc. Only when they succeed in creating the impression that Trump is unloved can they hope to convince the EU MOTR parties to keep the globalists course.

At least Hitler was a disaster for Germany because its furious enemies invaded despite fierce resistance (with him being the primary cause of that anger). Merkel literally let the plague of murders into the country to get a pat on the head from international media. Then again, at least German generals feared the Gestapo- and the Allies did not accept the excuse there was nothing to be done.

It will go far harder with Merkel's government, I think.

There will be a clear shift when the media begins to see us as the vindicators. Right now, the baby boomers, with sjw pc as their religion, are dying off but still hold power.

I expect them to hand off the legacy to immigrants, instead of their own progeny (which of course would be expected - complete cowards. Eg. Mohammedans will state their support of climate change action with little evidence to back it and boomers will call them heroes).

Blogger Roger Hill December 20, 2016 6:20 AM

It boggles the mind that SJW and PC ideology not only approves of, but seeks diversity and Muslim inclusion, while wishing to suppress Christian influences. "We must rally behind our Muslim neighbors!"

If your neighbors are true Muslims, you need to move to a different neighborhood soon. Or better yet, move them back to their own neighborhoods. If they Islamic in name only, well... it may or may not come back to bite you anytime soon. The problem is the very religion they wish to include, is the very religion that would seek to exclude PC and SJW ideology via direct coercion - like throat slitting and truck bombs.

I'm still on Berlin. I wanted a multicultural utopia, a chrome megalopolis of vibrant beige shining like a foundation-caked mole the size of a black hole in the center of the galaxy, sucking Empire down its gorgeless throat.

But every minute I squat inside my study trying to concentrate on my sybian I get weaker. Every minute Adolf looks at the jungle on his sidewalk he gets madder.

Unfortunately, as poor as the Muslims are at timing with these attacks, I don't think they are going to get enough in before the elections. It is going to take a string of 3-4 of these events all within a couple weeks for the Germans to finally wake up to the fact that they have a major problem that starts with the people running their government.

Not really. This was sloppy and poorly executed (could be a false flag). Not something organized by a large group of motivated people. The fires were a sign that the revenge phase was kicking in. If we start seeing more frequent and widespread fires at these immigration/Islamic centers you will know that the revenge phase has kicked in.

@24 "If the government will not take action, the people will.
That's just how it is. You can't wish it away."

Wishing *for* it won't make the Germans awaken. For seventy years, they have been SO brutalized emotionally and psychologically "to make up for Hitler" that they are the battered child preferring the batterer to the non-battering parent (or even independence).

(Ha. The funny-painful thing is: the book that dissected and explored the damage of such battering was written using Germans, generally, and National Socialists, specifically, as exemplars. "The Drama of the Gifted Child" (I can never remember if it's the TRAUMA or the Drama... had to look it up.) by Alice Miller. (Translated from the German...She's Swiss.)

Couple of bits from Amazon reviews:
================
"Alice Miller writes, 'When I used the word 'gifted' in the title, I had in mind neither children who receive high grades in school nor children talented in a special way. I simply meant all of us who have survived an abusive childhood thanks to an ability to adapt even to unspeakable cruelty by becoming numb... Without this 'gift' offered us by nature, we would not have survived.'"

"In a new Forward, Miller continues to disavow psychoanalysis."

"When I read this book (which was originally published in German in 1979) for the first time in the early eighties, it completely swept me off my feet. Here was an analysis that explained why I was in search of my 'true self', why I felt my achievements were 'empty', why I felt empathy for others and antipathy for myself. The idea proposed by Alice Miller, in a nutshell, was that there are children who are able to feel and ease the emotional insecurity of their mothers (the 'gift' of the title), thus gain her love but in the process deny their own desires. These children grow up to become helpers in various roles, including therapists - like Alice Miller herself. They develop sensors for the subconscious signals of the needs of others. The problem is, they subconsciously deny themselves the pursuit of their own needs, and consequently cannot become who they 'are'. Which makes them prone to the illnesses which, according to the Freudian theory, go with suppressed desires - depression and grandiosity (the latter being just a way of keeping depression at bay)."
================

My notes: this seems to describe the helplessness and hopelessness of the Germans left in Germany -- and how they became the suicidal inviters-in of murderous invaders.

(I, too, read this book in the '90s and was absolutely overwhelmed by the (immediate and deep recognition! of the) self-denial required of a child with an "insecure" "family of origin." Gotta read it again now, with my adult self to see if it's still sound.)

The right wing in Europe will not become dominant in time. By the time the majority of Europeans are on board with preserving their culture, the number of invaders will render that outlook mute. As Derbyshire has postulated, there is a ceiling on Nationalism and it is far below 50%. Germans are particularly easy to manipulate. All you have to do is tell Germans that anything they do to protect their culture or safety makes them a Nazi and they will become submissive. The German women do not mind being raped if it means that more invaders can come into their country.

Wow. Read my own message over, and I am reminded strongly of Peter Levine's amazing books: "Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma" and "In an Unspoken Voice: How the Body Releases Trauma and Restores Goodness": the two together provide an amazing and successful path to healing the PTSD so many of our military (and others traumatized -- and, no doubt, the German people!) suffer...

There is a YouTube vid of excerpts of his work with a Marine (I think he is) and how Levine's method of "finishing" the normal, mammalian, physical response to a "near-death" incident ameliorates / releases the PTSD! (Levine is also working with the VA.)

The second book, "Unspoken Voice," was written with Gabor Mate' -- another brilliant (medical doctor and) counselor. His 'thing' is working with drug addicts in B.C. Canada. His two books: "Scattered: How Attention Deficit Disorder Originates and What You Can Do About It" and "When the Body Says No: Exploring the Stress-Disease Connection" are astonishing. Also a ton of videos online of Gabor Mate'.

Even 12th century Muslims knew multiculturalism was a dead end.

Some of the nobles said: “By the favour of Almighty God we may conquer India, but if we establish ourselves permanently therein, our race will degenerate, and our children will become like the natives of those regions, and in a few generations their strength and valour will diminish.”

Merkel is either a complete idiot or complicit. The history of Islam paints a clear picture of what can be expected from the "refugees".

When I heard these words, I found them to be in accordance with the rules of war, and I immediately directed the commanders to proclaim throughout the camp that every man who had infidel prisoners was to put them to death, and that whoever neglected to do so, should himself be executed and his property given to the informer. When this order became known to the champions of Islam, they drew their swords and put their prisoners to death. One hundred thousand infidels, impious idolaters, were slain on that day.

There may not be a need to get to 50.01%. The American Revolution was fought with less than 50% of the populace behind it (or on either American or British sides) for most of the 11 years of conflict. Nazi Germany had less than 10% in the Party in the mid to late 30s. You don't need a majority to start a successful revolution.

1. Invade Russia. If Napoleon didn't succeed, you won't. At least Napoleon actually took Moscow.
2. Try to fight a two-front war.
3. Declare war on America when already fighting a two-front war.

The man ultimately proved to be an utter moron and managed to get his country invaded and occupied. He fought and lost wars that were totally unnecessary. A national leader can't fail much more completely than that.

But Merkel is trying....

When we Boomers die off you will be left with your shit-for-brains fellow GenXers and Millennials, who thought that electing a homicidal cackling hag, primed to shoot down Russian jets over Syria, was a good idea!

The most amusing thing about you Boomers to us Gen-Xers is that you've always failed to see the joke.

I did say that some of his ideas were wrong-headed. BTW, you left out:
4. Worship of the Aryan race.

Merkel should not commit harakiri. Rotten carcasses spread infection.
Best solution - expatriate her to one of these countries she is so fond of.
Wir schaffen das, indeed.

I look forward in fantasy to the day when Merkel, along with virtually the entire political class of Western Europe (and George Soros) are hanged together, after the Nuremburg 2.0 trials.

Hitler also managed to kill all the German men with the fighting genes - nothing but the pussies left. Hungary is filling up with Germans who won't stay and fight for their country back.

VD, point of order on Hitler invading Russia, we now know that if the invasion had not occurred, Stalin would have been the one with the backknife. Remember, the reason the first half of that war went so well for the Germans is that the entire Russian military that existed at the time was basically obliterated in the first 2 weeks of Babarossa precisely it was currently massing along the Russo-German border and was caught completely flatfooted in the worst possible spot to be caught in such a state. It was only after America rebuild/ donated a new industrial base to Russia was she able to get back on her feet and use her unlimited manpower to grind the Wehrmacht into paste. So in conclusion, he really didn't have much of a choice in the matter, even if he didn't want a war, Stalin had a war prepared for him.

Mathias: that's makes for a interesting what if scenario -- who would have ultimately won if Russia attacked Germany first?

Blogger newanubis December 20, 2016 5:23 PM

I dont even know where to begin.

1. The woman is doing what she's told to do
2. This is high treason.
3. She is facilitating, via stick or carrot, the destruction of German culture through weaponized migration.
4. There is complete disregard for the opinions and will of populous even AFTER all have witnessed the naked emporer.

Im beginning to wonder if there is anything at all that will bring the citizens to arms.
Their wives and daughters are being violated in front of their very eyes and still, insufficient motivation for revolt?
WTF?

>>It was only after America rebuild/ donated a new industrial base to Russia was she able to get back on her feet and use her unlimited manpower to grind the Wehrmacht into paste.

This is not true. America did not contribute to Russian industry in any even insignificant way 1942-1945. Russia relied upon its own industrial base and squeezed it to the max, far more than the Germans were willing to squeeze their own.

Lend lease Ford and Studebaker trucks were appreciated and admired by the Russians but were in no way determinative. Russia did not use or need American weaponry (a few lightweight, obsolete tanks made there way to Russia with lend lease, but they were nigh useless.). Russia produced excellent weaponry of her own. I'm reading David Glatnz's multi-volume history of the battle of Stalingrad right now and here is one factoid revealed by Glantz that should impress: during 1942, after Germany had occupied and controlled a huge portion of the Soviet Union's industrial base, Russia was still able to produce approximately 16,000 tanks, while Germany produced approximately 4,000. Once the Russians managed to reduce the horrifically lopsided 6:1 manpower kill ratio (during the first 6 months of the Stalingrad battle the Russians lost approximately 900,000 men killed (in the entire Operation Blau theater) to Germany's 150,000 killed), it was inevitable that Russia would crush Germany, notwithstanding the continued Russian 4 to 1 loss ratio in armor and artillery. With the manpower kill ratio brought down to a more tolerable level of 3:1 to 2:1 Russia could maintain the 4:1 armor loss ratio indefinitely and still maintain an overwhelming armor advantage on the field. Additionally, the Russians learned the lessons of mobile warfare that the Germans somehow forgot. Operation Bagration was the perfect execution of Blitzkrieg that even a German Field Marshall had to admire.

Some commentators state that the war was lost for Germany as early as December 1941 when the German army failed to take Moscow, or even earlier when they spent so much time, manpower and armor caught up at Smolensk. I don't know about that, but the stupid decision to declare war on America, the massive loss at Stalingrad and the further loss of a huge field army in North Africa in 1943 pretty much sealed Germany's fate.

One last point, the Russians were that more determined not to lose than the Germans were. Such determination and the consequent marshaling of the will has an effect.

And the correct thing to do then would have been to stop, prepare defensible positions, and not TRY TO INVADE RUSSIA.

Many countries defeated Russia in wars. But no one has ever invaded Russia successfully except the Mongols. The problem is logistics.

Unless you can live entirely off the land without losing combat effectiveness, you cannot successfully invade a land mass that large.

75. Daniel H: The 400,000 trucks we gave Russia was 400,000 trucks they didn't have to build themselves. Without them, there would have been no Soviet mobile warfare. No, we didn't build their industry, but our shipments were not insignificant, and may well have saved them. We sent several thousand tanks, including Shermans, which may not have been the equals of Mark V Panthers, but were the same tanks we used ourselves and were good enough to fight Panzer Mark IVs. We also sent about 3000 A-20s and 3000 P-39s, both extremely effective ground attack planes, as well as P-40s, B-25s, and C-47s. And don't forget the millions of tons of food, without which everything stops.

The Soviets have always downplayed the help they got, but while Germany may not have been able to beat them, they could not have beat Germany either, without us.

>>The problem is logistics.

I would love to read a history of German logistics on the eastern front. Say what you will about the Germans, but that they were able to field these armys so far from their home base was a massive achievement.

I did read a pretty good essay (floating around the internet, shouldn't be too hard to find) by a German on how the Germans managed to utilize the Russian rail network. Changing the gauge to standard European gauge was the easier part. They could manage about 20-30 km per day of re-gauging. The real problem was that the quality of the existing rail bed was really poor. In most cases it was just a pile of sand, clearly not robust enough for what the Germans needed to do with it. Another problem was that there just was not enough of a rail net. It abruptly ended at many critical ares, and in some cases just went off to areas with no discernible purpose. The Germans put a mighty effort into refitting the network for their needs, building thousands of miles of parallel track to overcome the effects of partisan guerillas blowing up track and bridges. Germans also discovered that the relatively primitive Russian locomotive was better suited for the Russian winter than the better engineered but more delicate German locomotives. Even in the most critical points of operations Uranus and Saturn the Germans were supplying their armies on the outside perimeter of Stalingrad by rail.

@76, Vox, this is incredibly clear in hindsight, but imagine for a sec you DONT know what is going to happen in the immediate aftermath of Babarossa, and you do know the Russian Army essentially will not exist for the next 18 months, and you have one of two descisions to make: Either hunker down and wait for the Russians to regroup and try again, or Blitz straight for Moscow. Considering the other fronts going on at the same time, and the fact that it looked at the moment that Moscow itself was in a moment of critical, unexpected, weakness, it was not unreasonable to consider an invasion of Russia in the summer, especially considering how close Napoleon got to taking that prize.

Additionally, the Russian armies performance during Babarossa and the previous Russo-German war was abysmal, and it did not look to change at that particular date. Such is the fog of war, and the way it warps decision making.

@75, I'm not talking about the weapons/transports, the major/decisive part of lend-lease was not the finished weapons we sent them, it was the tools we sent that they used to rebuild their factories, and the steel we sent to them that they built all those T-34's with. Not to mention the USA keeping Pacific shipping lines for said steel open vis-a-vis the Japanese was also critical.

Anonymous Discard December 21, 2016 4:21 AM

79. Mathias: We did not keep shipping lanes in the Pacific open to Vladivostok. Russian ships sailed with navigation lights on, unmolested by the IJN. Japan was not at war with Russia and did not want to be, so they let them through. Must have pissed off the Germans.

Hitler didn't start world war 2 he offered more than a dozen peace treaties that were more than fair before the war. Churchill agitated for it, and Roosevelt too because they were surrounded by Jews. You and molyneux are too smart not to know this, and I don't know why you both play this dance like you don't.
