I joined about 3 weeks ago, and was only on the waiting list for an hour or so. How long are people waiting now?

Even the trolls are better on Gab.
The dead "Norwegian Blue" site is horrid. I have more followers, with intelligent comments, posts, news on Gab in under a month than my entire experience Twitter.

I consider a Twitter interaction as sending an often futile postal mail to deep within Africa where it is unlikely to be received or appreciated.

They did it. They Really Did It!

I thought I better grab my handle there

And just in time too! I just got the latest alpha build of Gabbi (, and it looks pretty functional so far. Still needs more features, but right now I can do most of the normal things on Gab with it. Time to kick Twitter while it's gasping for air.

I'm very thankful I got in quickly by way of r/the_donald... it's a very exciting frontier! Drop me a line @TheMoviegoer

Let's grow this platform!

What is often heard at Comet Ping Pong?

Anonymous Cmate December 10, 2016 10:30 PM

I'm @Cmate on Gab! I always follow back.

?????? What happened on Twitter to trigger this post?

Blogger Orville December 10, 2016 11:10 PM

Vox, I just sent you an email with a great idea to expand Gab's use.

Gab links can now be shared publicly,

I'll venture a theory, a story.

Once upon a time there was a social media platform that allowed anyone to interact with everyone else, all over the world. It was a wonder of the age in its day. But then they got Converged. After The Convergence, nobody could #SpeakFreely with anybody else anymore, unless they presented the properly Authorized Virtue Credentials. This destroyed the platform, though not too many realized it at the time. That destruction created a pent-up demand, the same demand that had allowed the original platform to succeed in the first instance. So a new #AltTech platform arose in its place. Now the whole world has its wonder back again.

This VP post marks one of the inspiring chapters in that story.

Same here. Took me less than an hour.

Still waiting to hear back from Gab for acceptance, has been significantly longer than the projected 2 weeks.

1. Have all the stragglers from the other site found their way over to Gab?

@2 see above

@MAGA_MAN here from - They do not have the capacity let in everyone at once and they are getting hammered by fake applications based on feedback from @a who runs the site. They will need a ton of funding if they want to compete with Twitter, but with that comes strings so I hope they can keep the balance.

Which means some legit applications are going to hit their filters and not get through, at least not initially.

They will need a ton of funding if they want to compete with Twitter....

At first I was going to say this is not necessarily true, depending on how good their architecture and coding is, Twitter's initially was not at all scaleble. But now that they're Officially Identified as a site that does not suppress us, or worse, fighting off attacks of many varieties doesn't scale well, they'll probably need more people, having enough bandwidth and server resources for some of those sorts of attacks can get expensive. Maybe not "tons", but probably quite a bit of money will be required.

Hello world!

Blogger Bob December 11, 2016 1:12 PM

I've joined up! Only 832,182 on the waiting list.

My Dad used to comment about somebody's alligator mouth overloading their canary ass. You know, too much, too soon.

I do assume I can make that comment without retribution, since that's what GAB is supposed to be all about.

Blogger weka December 11, 2016 1:47 PM

@11. Mind out of the gutter, mate.
Comet Ping Pong is in the gutter, and will remain until the actors of that sordid group are raised up. By the neck.
