Inaugural Darkstream

I'll be doing a 'scope tonight to discuss the inauguration of the God-Emperor at 7 PM Eastern. If you want to tune in, comment, and ask questions, be sure to follow me here so that you'll be alerted when it goes live.

This is the open thread to discuss the ascendance of the God-Emperor to the Cherry Blossom Throne today.

UPDATE: All right, we're on in 10.

UPDATE: If you'd like to watch the replay of The God-Emperor Ascends, in which I discuss the 10 points that most struck me about Donald Trump's speech today, you can do so here.

Nehemiah 2:9-20; 4:1-5:13; 6:1-7:4; 13:1-3, 23-31

"17 Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in, how Jerusalem lies in ruins with its gates burned. Come, let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer suffer disgrace.” 18 And I told them of the hand of my God which had been upon me for good, and also of the words which the king had spoken to me. And they said, “Let us rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for the good work. 19 But when Sanbal′lat the Hor′onite and Tobi′ah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arab heard of it, they derided us and despised us and said, “What is this thing that you are doing? Are you rebelling against the king?” 20 Then I replied to them, “The God of heaven will make us prosper, and we his servants will arise and build; but you have no portion or right or memorial in Jerusalem.”

May the God Emperor build the Wall(s)!

Vox, you are absolutely right about Churchians. They are the absolute worst. Here is an excerpt by one who posted on Facebook yesterday:

Today marks the last full day with President Obama as our Commander in Chief. If I could only say one thing to our President it would be: thank you.
I definitely have not agreed with President Obama on many issues (some of which I STRONGLY disagreed with him on). But here is what I do know, for eight years he was the head of state for the most powerful country on earth. That is reason enough to respect anybody who is in that position, but another reason to respect him is that he demonstrated himself to be a man of great character. I respect that he was a loving husband and a loving father while handling the most difficult job on the planet, many of us young men can look to that as an example to follow.
History will be the final judge on his two terms in office, not the liberal and conservative online mobs; and that judgment may come 50 years later - long after many of us will be dead.
Here is hoping for a good four years with President-elect Donald Trump.

Good speech, if a little too conciliatory. But short, and with enough meat to scare the bejesus out of the bifactional ruling party and deep-state elites.

I expect to see a surge in commemorative edition 45-70 guns to honor our 45th president, who is 70 years old. They could be the "Trumpenator" series. Maybe a Ruger #1, or a fine lever-action. But I suspect any .45 will suffice.

I trust Trump gets his own back for that appalling childish behaviour by H.M.G. Counting down the minutes now.

-Set a limousine on fire.

-Smashed up numerous other cars.

-Injured six cops.

-Used multiple garbage fires (an apt metaphor for leftism) against police.

With roughly 220 arrests thus far...it's been about the level of violence that I expected.

Anonymous JustAnotherPairOfEyes January 20, 2017 9:15 PM

@77 praetorian "These folks want a war in the street."

The left apparently doesn't read the history books and are unaware of how badly they were beaten in the street fights in the years before Hitler came to power. The left back then was a lot more violent than the left is today and the street fights were killing a couple dozen people per weeks (IIRC). Nowadays they bend up some property in Democratic neighborhoods, set a couple garbage cans and police cars on fire and throw rocks through the windows of big businesses that supported their candidate. In addition to being weak and ineffectual, they are not even efficient at pissing off the right. Instead they crap in their own mess kit.

Trump ain't the new Hitler but if he hadn't been elected this cycle, we were eventually going down that sort of road. But it would have been so one sided in favor of the right as to not amount to much. To get a lot of killing you need two sides with equal strength and a strong propensity to violence. The left today loathes violence and the military and all that. They're happy to have somebody else do it for them, but the vast majority of them are not the kind of men who volunteer for an actual fight.

There are only a few hundred leftists who repeatedly go around the country and stage this crap. The amount of ammunition needed to stop the leftist riots completely is shot off by the average gun enthusiast in a typical month or two. They truly are not much of a physical threat at all. The problem is their voting.

Thanks for increasing the volume.

Now I just need a decent way to access them from my phone. Periscope refuses to play the video on a regular web browser ( I tried opera, Naked, Sleipnir and Firefox), and Brave works, kinda. It gets rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise, and any attempt to interact witht he video (skip back, etc) causes it to restart or to skip to the center.

And the app demands permissions I find excessive (you want my contact list and geolocation? Fuck you Twitter!)

Marsh: "Vox, would you please write your ten points on your blog for the few of us, who are unable to access periscope?"

Vox: "That defeats the purpose. Perhaps someone else will write them up and post them; I didn't save my notes."

Here you go:

Positive notes:
1. Transferring power from DC back to people.
2. Establishment protected itself but not the citizens; their victories have not been your victories, their triumphs have not been your triumphs.
3. A nation exists to serve its citizens: schools, safety, jobs.
4. From this day forward, America First.
5. Follow two simple rules: buy American, hire American.
6. We defended other nation's borders, while refusing to defend our own. Will eradicate radical Islamic terrorism.
7. Time for empty talk is over, now is the time for action.
8. There should be no fear. We are protected, and we will always be protected. We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement. And most importantly, we will be protected by God.

Criticisms:
9. Trump missed an important rhetorical moment by not mentioning "build a wall".
10. Trump's Civic Nationalism.

Of course, Vox provided considerable exposition on each of these points, but to transcribe all of that is beyond the point -- you should really listen to get it all.
======================
BTW, Vox, nice job. Aside from the already-mentioned critiques on presentation, the content was first-rate.

Blogger Marsh January 21, 2017 9:59 AM

Thank you very much, Water boy!

Blogger Salt January 21, 2017 10:36 AM

Gary North has a good take on Trump's speech -

"I don't know which phrase will get quoted in the future. But I'll tell you one that grabbed my attention: "This American carnage stops right here and stops right now." American carnage. He has it, exactly.

But this is more likely to stick: "From this moment on, it's going to be America First."

He is not the polished speaker that John Kennedy was. He does not have the hearts of the people in the way that Franklin Roosevelt did in the midst of the Great Depression. He is not the rhetorical master that Abraham Lincoln was. But more than any President I have ever heard or read at an inaugural, he laid out his agenda, showed how that agenda is a fundamental break from the political past, and promised his supporters that he would not betray them. The implication is obvious: previous Presidents have all betrayed them. And they have. Four of them were standing behind him when he said it. This was a breach of etiquette. I loved it.

No matter what happens in terms of the details of his administration, and no matter what happens to the economy as a result of central bank profligacy, Donald Trump delivered an inaugural address that is going to go down in history. His enemies will try to bury him in his own words. But that plays into his hands. They will have to use his own words to bury him. It's Catch-22 for the establishment.

Let the battle begin!"
