Latvia should stand up to Russia too

Idiot Hollywood actress calls for the press "to stand up to" the God-Emperor Ascendant:
Donald Trump has slammed Meryl Streep as 'one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood' after she used her Golden Globes acceptance speech to publicly slam the President-elect.  The Cecil B. DeMille honoree took aim at Trump, without mentioning him by name, by calling the moment he mocked a disabled reporter the most stunning performance of the year.

But Trump has hit back on Twitter, dismissing the actress as a 'Hillary flunky'. He tweeted: 'Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn't know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a Hillary flunky who lost big."

Trump came under fire in 2015 for mocking New York Times investigative reporter Serge Kovaleski by impersonating the journalist's physical handicap. It was an incident replayed frequently in campaign advertising.  Streep, who spoke at the Democratic National Convention, also called for the press to stand up to Trump and hold him to account going forward.
What on Earth does she think the media was doing throughout the general campaign? The only way the press could have been more all-in for Hillary would have required a deathmatch with Huma first. The God-Emperor Ascendant knows the media are his avowed enemies, and he's already informed them that they will henceforth be his bitches whether they play along or not, so one wonders what on Earth the washed-up old hag thinks the press is going to accomplish by failing harder.

By the way, it may interest some to note that Serge Kovaleski is not only the aforementioned handicapable journalist, he's also the incompetent reporter who requested, and then promptly buried, my answers to his questions about the Alt-Right, because they did not suit his preconceived narrative.

Meryl Streep is best known for doing different accents in her movies. Yay! That certainly means that everyone should listen respectfully to her political opinions.

If Camille Paglia already thought well of Trump, more so now. As a critic of popular culture, she's said a number of unflattering things about Streep.

A lady on Gab asked us Gabbers to not watch the show. Well, I wasn't going to anyway. I have ALWAYS hated those kinds of shows (since at least 1956). Chew on that date, young'uns. But I even went further.

When my local morning news show went to that story, I hit Home Page and came here. I was only there for the local weather anyway. We're sort of snowbound here in the Nofuck, Vagina area today.

I agree with The Donald. Meryl is grossly overrated. Fuck her with Hillary & Huma's used, barbed sex toys! - Coated in high-test unleaded gasoline first.

This is a great example for those who don't quite pay enough attention to "fake news" to understand why we apply it to the MSM, though—which can yet be useful. The whole "Trump mocked a disabled reporter" story is fake news through and through, and yet it was reported incessantly and has never been retracted or corrected.

Not all handicaps are physical. I think the mental ones regularly displayed by Hollyweird are a bigger problem, right behind their moral handicaps (general lack of them).

Blogger James Dixon January 09, 2017 9:10 AM

Does Meryl Streep really think anyone outside of Hollywood cares what she thinks?

> Hollywood is dead to me.

The last movie I went to see in the theaters was released in 1986. The last movie I paid money for was released in 2005. The last album I bought was released in 1990. I don't see those figures changing any time soon.

> Hollywood is already campaigning for Trumps reelection.

They're not too bright. It will take them a while to get the idea.

Anonymous Avalanche January 09, 2017 9:10 AM

I never understood (well, I guess I do once I learned the initialism MPAI) why so many people listen and believe people who barely or never even finished high school! Because they're good PARROTS, convincingly speaking lines written by someone else, people think they're smart.

Oh, there might be a meme? (I'm not capable of the graphics work): Pix of all these actors (individually) with the last year of school completed, and even GPA if discoverable. That "too-long-to-be-a-meme" video disparaging actors for their "advice" was good but ... you know... too long. A picture of ... Madonna ... with "highest grade completed: 10th" might make people question her smarts?

Fake news. Trump wasn't impersonating the guy's handicap, he was doing the exact same "Nervous Nellie" impression he also used to mock Ted Cruz and others.

It was an incident replayed frequently in campaign advertising.

Yet we never saw the famous disabled reporter. Why? That would've been yugely powerful. The reason we never saw footage of the reporter is it'd immediately BTFO the lie that Trump was imitating his handicap. His disability has nothing to do with frantic hand gestures.

The fact that lefties can truly and sincerely (IMO) believe that the media was actually hard on Hillary and favorable to Trump during the campaign is quite possibly the best display of confirmation bias and self-delusion that exists. And that's quite a competition these days.

Disregarding the political slant which most here disagree with, Meryl Streep is still exactly wrong. If Hollywood and the press were even more hard left they would be in a greater disconnect with the majority and even less effective.

I suspect the reason entertainers seem to have such flawed judgement when it comes to things political is that career wise it is not smart for them to get too into it. Thus among a generally politically uninspired group the least clever are the most likely to come forward.

Trump needs to take several measures to improve consumer protections and electronic enhance free speech, all of which will have the side benefit of reducing media companies' profits.

1) Via FCC regulation, require cable/paid TV services to offer a la carte pricing so that people who don't want CNN, MSNBC, ESPN aren't paying those companies.
2) Punish/prosecute those engaging in abusive DMCA notification practices - possibly with the use of existing wire fraud laws.
3) Use racketeering laws to prosecute media companies overstating their audiences and thereby overcharging advertisers. Facebook has admitted to this at least twice but I know of no instance where they have had to pay restitution or faced criminal sanctions.
4) Change the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure to greatly limit the allowable time for filing a lawsuit against an IP address.

Together these actions would cost Hollywood and big media companies billions.

Indeed. I was looking through some movie reviews from the last few years, and was reminded that Jason Bateman did one a few years ago where he befriended a young boy and took him to a prostitute to prove to him that women have nipples. There was another where James Franco has an affair with a 17-year-old schoolgirl. Adam Sandler did one that played the whole issue of teacher/student sex as a joke. And of course South Park took it to the extreme of a teacher having an affair with a preschooler.

I'm not a prude, and I know a lot of our classic 80s movies had teens in sexual situations -- with other teens. When you start paying attention, the theme now is much more adults with teens in sexual situations. Maybe I'm just noticing it more, maybe it's been going on longer than I realize, but there seems to be a real effort to normalize it.

So many sub-manias to the main mania trunk.

One of them is the cult of celebrity. It's bad enough when politicians begin to believe their own Public Relations. When the visibly dysfunctional sock-puppets in entertainment do it, the result is laughing with gusto.

Every aspect of our culture became concentrated in a single column during the last 50 years. The priests and acolytes of the resulting theocracy are moving Heaven and Earth to exorcise Badthink from every (willing or unwilling) congregant, which is ample evidence of their loss of control.

That single column is fragmenting rapidly, and those who basked too long in the spotlight had their brains addled such that they think THEY can put this Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Anyway, before the thing started they previewed about half a dozen penny dreadfuls, dripping with evil, steeped in nihilism. And even with all that going for them they still managed to be banal, trite and insufferably boring. I don't want what they're selling. I don't want to spend 5 minutes in the world they're creating. It's a stinky space and the snake becomes largely deaf and blind to outside reality, but it's safe.

Head-up-her-ass Streep is obviously willfully blind to the fact that the mocking kovaleski story has been thoroughly debunked and that kovaleski's affliction is the exact opposite of the floppy wrist action Trump has used many times to mock frustrated people.

Of course, as long as hollyweird gets rich peddling junk entertainment to the low IQ and immature they'll continue be a culturally and politically autistic-like echo chamber producing nitwit behavior in public.

The hubris is astounding. What is the purpose of all these film industry award shows but to gin up interest in cinema going? All the pomp and glamor and fabled allure of the Hollywood stars of the silver screen, that whole rich tradition, the whole brand, is on display for promotion of the product. That is the entire point. And what do these people do but reveal themselves to be rank brats? Here they go again, embarking on another round of campaigns which actively insult and turn off fully half of their audience.

This is all now a dying tradition. They are all in on killing it off, not just Streep. Yet one more platform hijacked by SJWism. These jackals ruin everything they touch. Just like Streep, he completely failed to note the heavily biased coverage prior to the election. It is amazing how many idiots seem to not even see that. Some almost certainly intentionally ignore it, but others are dumb enough to not even see it.

You know, it's not even that "SJWs always double down". While way less rhetorically snappy, it's more like that the only move they know is to push more chips onto the same losing bet. Did they win? Push more chips on to the same bet. Did they lose? Push more chips on to the same bet. No feedback loop between results and actions.

Normally after this sort of realignment election, you could safely expect that after some period in the desert the opposition would come back, figure out how to add a few more people to its tent, and return the situation to the roughly 50/50 that the US political system is structurally inclined to. But now we've got a team controlled by people who only know how to put chips down on the same bet, over and over and again, and we've got the leader of the other team who knows how to bait them into putting those chips down (which shouldn't be all that hard but nobody else in Washington wanted to figure out how to do it) and making sure that bet loses.

I've personally been resisting the idea that Trump would form a long-lasting political dynasty just because "permanent majority" is a frequent daydream of the team that just won that never pans out. But while nothing is truly "permanent", I really am beginning to come around to the idea that Trump has a massive opportunity to form a huge majority that will last for a while. Now that Hillary has spent decades hollowing out the Democrats with nothing to show for it but, well, a hollowed-out Democratic party, the Democrats are left firmly in control of the people who have no grasp of strategy and whose only tactic is to do the same thing, over and over. It's going to take nearly a full flush to clear them out, and that's going to take a lot of time. I wouldn't even be surprised a third-party eats them. Probably the reality won't sink before the 2020 election, but the 2024 election may well be Republicans vs. Not-Democrats.

As has been said here a few times before... we were losing to this? (Although, to be fair, I'd submit this level of pathology was really only reached relatively recently. Even in the Obama elections the left was not this hopelessly immune to feedback.)

There's a strange dichotomy there. On one hand, people keep going to the theaters, and when stars go on talk shows or just out in public, people cheer for them and beg for their autograph. Their faces sell magazines, and charities stand in line to ask for their endorsement.

At the same time, people hate Hollywood and consider it a corrupt, evil place.

It doesn't seem like these two facts could exist together, but they do, and Hollywood people only see the first one.

Is there any other line of work where the participants are always awarding themselves prizes merely for doing their job. Actors seem to have - perhaps by reason of their popularity - an inflated idea of their own opinions. They are all with few exceptions virulently left-wing and yet by any normal standard stunningly wealthy; yet they do not appear to observe the contradiction. Whether it is Streep, Clooney, the cast of Hamilton or Cumberbatch the virtue signalling is as nauseating as it comic. Like a Barrister they will speak to any brief and thus one has to suspect that their views are self-serving. Trump won the election and by a large margin. I thought Hollywood liked and respected the Democratic will of the people; apparently only when the left win.

He pointed out that on the "day" of the infamous Marathon, the JFK Library in Boston "accidently" burned an archive room. He says that there were Top Secret papers in JFK's collection that were very soon scheduled for declassification and public release. The whole Op sounds like a two-fer, or maybe even a three-fer.

> There's a strange dichotomy there. On one hand, people keep going to the theaters...

Do they? Take a current box office record sales. Divide by the average price of a ticket. Now do the same for Star Wars, Jaws, or (the real big one) Gone with the Wind.

Here, someone has done the work for us: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted.htm

"Trump came under fire in 2015 for mocking New York Times investigative reporter Serge Kovaleski by impersonating the journalist's physical handicap."

And the thing is a lie. It never happened. Trump mocked Serge because the lying-ass hack said their was no evidence of Muslims celebrating in New Jersey on 9/11 when the Twin Towers fell; Trump then quoted from Serge's own news column of the time. Serge repudiated his own reporting.

Trump mocked him for that, and did an impersonation of a retard flailing about in a spasm of incompetence, the same impersonation he has done to others he mocked as idiots. Serge was not in the room at the time: nothing I have seen establishes that Trump even knew the fellow.

The crybully then cried foul, and said that Trump was mocking him for being handicapped with some rare wrist disease.

The whole thing is a lie and a falsehood from start to end.

I'm glad the God-Emperor called it like I've seen it since the 1980s. Meryl Streep is vastly overrated. She has two, maybe three characters that she plays over, and over, and over. Hulk Hogan had more diversity in his characters ffs.

Yes, it was. Whom was aware of it, in 1990? Many, maybe even MOST, people didn't have HBO in their homes in 1990. But now, with the ballast and bombast of Hollywood behind it, this dystopian novel of the feminist fetishist Atwood can finally come to the forefront of plebeian consciousness.

That could be the reason Hollywood fears him so. The criticism of him is out of proportion to what he has said. Trump has been in the TV business for years and knows more about this than the average person. He would know where to start the investigation.

Vox, you are behind the times. Just wait until old Putin has to face the combined might of the Polish Lithuanian commonwealth. Now I know that nobody in either polity probably wants to resurrect it but that is just a road bump.

Can you imagine cossacks and armored companions facing off against Polish Hussars? Muzzle loading cannons swords, composite bows and swords against long hussar lances. What could be more glorious.

Since no one is going to use their big guns why not pare it down to the weapons and armor of the age of glory and religious wars? We could bring back Polish-Sarmaitan and Czar era fashion/dance/music culture as well.

Win-win-win.

Hardly anybody gets killed. You have to be in decent shape to ride wearing armor and fight all day. Archery even from horseback is an exacting skill to say nothing of swordplay. And it would have to be cheaper in the long run that fielding tanks and big guns even old T-34s.

As a youngster I resented the fact that so little pop-culture entertainment was aimed at me, but now I see it as having been a blessing in disguise. And true to my form as an utterly unrepentant Omega-Sperg, I think I’ll take this opportunity to signal my virtue: I quit watching TV and movies in the early 90’s, when I bought my first modem.

Radix in their Journal section has Gregory Hood's "Normal" about all the insane things the Left has normalized or is trying to normalize. More chips and even more. Also on Amren,
Chris Roberts two articles "The Anti-Anti-White Left" and "American Renaissance Fuels Leftist Infighting," or how the old line class-conscious Marxists are fighting with the race Identitarian SJWs. These destructive schisms will show up with greater frequency from here on out, as race is being used against the Left's own. Forget the Alphas, if the 1488er's are looking for new recruits the Bernie Bros will fit nicely after the SJW Left casts them out as Whites, and therefore racists. They are emotional and open to pure appeals at that level, and don't have time for dialectics or facts. Just talk to them about those Wall Street Banksters.

If you read Hood's article you can see their ability to avoid feedback has been "normalizing" insanity for a long time now, it's just reached a tipping point now where it can no longer work, except with the cracked fanatics. Yet it has been self destructive like this long time.

Keep all of this in mind when having any discussion about Margaret Atwood's "A Handmaid's Tale":

http://voxday.blogspot.ca/2016/12/the-first-law-of-female-journalism.html

Steve Sailer's First Law of Female Journalism: The most heartfelt articles by female journalists tend to be demands that social values be overturned in order that, Come the Revolution, the journalist herself will be considered hotter-looking.

Think of “To Kill a Mockingbird” like one of those internet lists on “why dating a single mom is great”; they share more in common than you’d think. Both serve to campaign for their author’s sexual market value, while attempting to make their weaknesses something irrelevant… Ugly Harper living in a pre-internet world just took the long way around.

My first encounter with Atwood's fiction was with her short story "Rape Fantasy" wherein she recounts the fantasy of ravishment interspersed with a supposed reality of a rape victim preyed upon in various circumstances. So, she does recognize that forceful intercourse can be a desired thing, if the woman desires it...circular reasoning, surely.

The Handmaid's Tale is pure femotrash and anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, literature. The monomania is pure and irrefutable. Christians are idiots who misinterpret the OT and impose it's laws on unsuspecting women, forcing them to be brood-mares to the law-abinding men of the ruling faction, full-stop. OK.

That Atwood confuses Islam with Christianity betrays her mistaken paranoia and weaknesses as a potential traitor to her own people. She need not fear Christians as the ones who would imprison women as breeder-slaves, but she can't see that far, and neither will the audiences who pay willingly to be deceived by Hollywood's slick portrayal of one woman's (and thereby Every Woman's) plight at the hands of White Men.

I'm certain it will win many accolades.

"hollywood is full of foreigners. if you kick us all out all you have left to watch is football and MMA."

Or we could replace them. The fact that they think if they are kicked out that film making would disappear is laughable. A steady stream of people on the right would move in to take over. Some how I'm guessing Miss Streep thinks that without her and her ilk that art and film making would suffer or go extinct. If everyone in Hollywood disappeared tomorrow, by the next day a new batch of people would move in and make a better product.

Is there any other line of work where the participants are always awarding themselves prizes merely for doing their job

I knew a klutz of an aide who smacked a sprinkler nozzle with something he was moving to help decorate for Christmas, set the sprinkler off doing over 6 figure damage who was employee of the month for his "quick reaction" to mitigate the damage.

Is there another corollary to Sailor's rule for male "political organizers" like GaziKodo:

She may be pining for the days when anyone would have been interested in porking her loins.  Not even Roman Polanski would want any today.

You've been in Hollywood, Meryl Streep
And since the 70s, not a peep
About the child molesting showman
That great artiste, Polanski Roman
(Unless it's with pronounced elation
To hail his deeds with loud ovation)

The awards you got, from way back whence
Are, if we're honest, for bad accents
In flick after flick I watched you wreck
Scene after scene for a big fat check
But here's the thing, you unpleasant shrew
You sound just like a dingo bit you

Like putting special forces troops on another country's border for no reason? The degree to which these libtards ignore the malfeasance of their precious Democratic politicians and project it onto the Right is maddening and mind-boggling - until I remember that they're just like that. Trump should strp away the copyright protections of the MSM. Something like "corporations of a certain size are limited to 1 years copyright for their intellectual property in movies, and music."

and

"torrenting of music and movies is legal."

That would get revenge on Hollywood and the MSM.

Mr Trump devoted three Tweets to rebutting Ms Streep and in them disses her ability as an actress. He may have been incensed by her speech but Ms Streep is not as actresses go a poor performer. What strikes me (as with Tennis) is that female actresses have limited range: they do not chew scenery as an A-list leading-man will and the best that they can hope for in movies is either being comically incompetent - a-la Lucille Ball, or a victim - as in something like Sophie's Choice. Unless they are young and very good looking and even then they are inter-changable, one does not tend to notice them.

Anonymous JAG January 10, 2017 2:21 PM

Just watched the stupid speech by the over rated bitch. Here's how over rated she is - she was acting in her speech about Trump the meanie, but her "tears" were of the alligator kind. She can't even fake a cry in front of a sympathetic audience.

Her main character that she has played a million times is the bitch, or herself really.

Come to think of it, she doesn't really have any other characters.

Anonymous Opus January 10, 2017 4:38 PM

Is there not some Schadenfreude in that Trump's spastic hand is something he is unable to control (and perhaps has not even noticed) and yet he is being accused of mockery by the very person who is blaming him for what he cannot help?
