On the radio

Today at 9 AM Eastern I'll be appearing on Jesse Lee Peterson's show. For details concerning where you can hear it, check @jlptalk on Twitter.

And for those who might be tempted to sperg about my "don't talk to the media" policy, note that he's a WND man. I am always pleased to speak with friends, allies, and colleagues, in public or in private.

UPDATE: the link to the recording.

Looking forward to what will undoubtedly be an interesting listen.

I love Jesse. His slow, deliberate way of speaking is like the steamroller scene from Austin Powers when he shits on people.

JLP is great. He really got up the dander of the last "couple" he had on his show.

Vox reveals his kryptonite to world. You can't take that back Vox.

A properly calibrated shade can deteriorate Vox's decision heuristic just enough to render his superintelligence entirely moot. Don't fall for any phishing attacks.

Vox I think your interview-fu is noticeably improving.

I think Vox handled the IQ question well.

Jesse Lee Peterson is a hero, pure and simple. I remember contributing to his Brotherhood of a New Destiny about 20 years ago, and frankly I'm surprised and quite pleased to see that he is not only still alive, but thriving.

Blogger Dave January 03, 2017 10:23 AM

That's amazing.

You sound good Vox. Caught the first half up to the point you were going to take callers.

Blogger VD January 03, 2017 11:49 AM

It was kind of funny when he had the ambient Psykosonik instrumental on. I was thinking "hmmm, that sounds vaguely familiar." A little more subtle than the usual show producer hitting you with a big riff from Welcome or Krank Phreak.

Blogger Dave January 03, 2017 12:12 PM

I had no idea it was Psykosonik, I thought they were just signaling a break was coming. That was funny, upon return from break Jesse asked if you recognized it.

Actually I kinda liked it, title? are there more instrumentals?

Blogger Unknown January 03, 2017 12:50 PM

As if you haven't already made it clear that your no media rule is farther down your priority list than helping new talent...

I'm looking forward to listening to that interview.

It's up on

I skipped ahead to when I heard him introduce you - did I miss Psykosonik by doing so?

Blogger Dave January 03, 2017 3:31 PM

No, it's going into the first break after Vox came on.

Blogger Lazarus January 03, 2017 7:43 PM

Good interview.

Alt-right presented as a feel-good thang.

I liked Jesse Peterson's reponse to the caller about racism not existing.

Much akin to St. Paul's "no jew or greek" concept.

Blogger AdognamedOp January 04, 2017 4:45 AM

Good interview. Was that Al from Bay shore that called in?

Anonymous Bob Just January 04, 2017 9:16 AM

Vox, psykosonik at 13 minute mark of the interview.

I laughed: Sometimes a simple question isn't so simple.

So, Vox, you're a smart guy? What does that feel like?

One nitpick Vox, how would you test for innate intelligence? Speak earlier, walk earlier?

For the below: IQ tests are the measure of intelligence

I did a little bit of searching (a good bit) to find some examples that disprove your hypothesis - I couldn't find any studies where one twin was give Flint, Michigan water and the other Pellegrino:

Quick tidbits

- intrauterine growth retardation - the smaller twin tended to do more poorly or verbal IQ tests

- early reading - (controlled for pre-reading IQ)
Twins with better earlier reading ability compared to their identical cotwin tended not only to have better reading at subsequent measurements but also higher scores on general intelligence tests.

Schizophrenia in the growth-retarded twin (same genetics but the "potential" was altered by the intrauterine environment)
The affected twin was born with a birthweight of 1620 g, whereas the unaffected twin weighed 2300 g at birth. Marked differences in sociability and intelligence were observed between the twins from early childhood. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain revealed high-intensity signals in the white matter and enlarged ventricles in the affected twin, while no such abnormality was detected in the well twin. This twin pair suggests a possibility that hypoxic brain damage associated with prenatal underdevelopment may be a causal factor for abnormalities in psychosocial development and subsequent schizophrenia.

Although, I would have no qualms if you restated your argument to:

if intelligence was modeled it would involve multiple factors, with genetics appearing to have a dominant role

@Bob Just

"How would you test for innate intelligence? Speak earlier, walk earlier?"

"Walk earlier" is hardly positively correlated with intelligence (unless you include a lot of subjects with pathology that causes generalized developmental delay). You might want to look up age at walking for other mammalian species, or blacks vs. whites vs. Asians. Or look up the concept of neoteny (overused in the past, granted, but still useful).

I listened to it on the link. I really enjoyed the interview. Never heard Jesse until now. Avid reader of Vox's blog. I am a big Trump supporter, retired Army Colonel. In 7th grade my homeroom teacher/wrestling coach told me my IQ was 132 and I was one of the smartest kids in junior high. Vox's comments about understanding things easier academically, etc. are true and it took me a while to understand why others didn't "get it" as fast...caused me a lot of frustration and issues interacting with others. I started reading a lot about Emotional Intelligence, even tried to give a brief about it when I was a Captain to a bunch of other Officers and they thought it was all feel good BS it gets a lot more play...i.e. you can be real smart but if you can't communicate well with others your not as effective in the job arena (military, civilian, etc.). Hope Trump continues to perform as expected and I am looking forward to great things in 2017 like repeal of ACA, immigration fixes, and economy improving. Everyone (all Americans) will benefit and I will continue to despise the progressives who continue to block this "Trumpslide."
