The banished slave-girl

After which the God-Emperor Ascendant sent her to NBC, shorn, dishonored, unwanted, and unloved. From the Carlos Slim blog:

Megyn Kelly, who arrived at Fox News 12 years ago as a television news neophyte but rose to become one of its two biggest stars, has decided to leave the network to take on a broad new role at NBC News for an undisclosed amount, people briefed on the negotiations said on Tuesday.

The NBC News chairman, Andrew Lack, wooed Ms. Kelly away from Fox News by offering her a triple role in which she will host her own daytime news and discussion program, anchor an in-depth Sunday night news show and take regular part in the network’s special political programming and other big-event coverage.

The move will herald a seismic shift in the cable news landscape, where Ms. Kelly had become the second-most watched host — after Bill O’Reilly of Fox News — and often helped define the national political debate, especially over the last year as Donald J. Trump regularly attacked her, at times in viciously personal terms.

Husband reports that prior-to-election Democrats are seeing some light in the Trumpening due to the examples of bringing a few thousand jobs back to the USA, here and there. Soon, it could be everywhere. We hope.

I do wonder what NBC hopes it will clutch with the Kelley acquisition. A wholesale re-brand will be necessary...will it go so far as to include her pics from the failed VS model days? That she was once hot, too, but has now matured and seen the (((Democrat))) light, or something along those lines?

I am surprised 'the Fox boys' didn't figure out a way to get her to stay, she seems to be more on their schedule than not. Maybe she really had become too much of a liability... or wasn't safe get some put out from? I despise this modern world and the dog and pony shows.

She just took a huge downgrade, no matter if she is making more money. All good, if I quit Fox long ago anyway and won't be going back just for this.

I mean don't get me wrong, I can't stand the woman, and she totally showed her true colors over the last year, but she is a multimillionaire, and she could never work another day in her life and still live better than 99 percent of the world's population.

I mean she went from making so many millions a year to making not as many millions a year.

So, I fail to see how Megyn Kelly is a loser in any of this except in one respect, and it is this:

Megyn Kelly has achieved success like most of us can never dream of, fame and fortune.

People like Megyn Kelly are driven. When they achieve a thing, they want the next thing.

What Megyn Kelly wanted next, and what she shed her sheep's skin for a chance to attain, was Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

She wanted to end him.

She wanted to hang his balls on a wall in one of her giant homes like a trophy.

Well she failed, and this is what ails her. She's a man eater through and through, but Donald Trump will always be the one that got away. He was her white whale.

Blogger Robert Divinity January 03, 2017 2:39 PM

"Settle for Whore." Any business, even the discredited Dark State-controlled media, that would hire a woman who accused her past employer of sexual harassment ain't none too bright. One would hope her new contract requires arbitration and has a liquidated severance payment but the folly of hiring a wannabe rape martyr doesn't bode well for the GE shareholders.

As the Fake Stream news continues to melt down. NBC would benefit from some rightwing voice that thought Trump would win. Instead they get the post-haircut Megyn.

The problem is the echo chamber, so instead of acoustic foam they put up more ceramic tile.

But I love it. Hubris. Cluelessness.

Trump can even use it. Make a deal to exempt California from reciprocal concealed carry if they would just take in all the Muslim refugees dispersed across the USA.

Then push for #CalExit, or at least for the coastal counties.

Blogger Johnny January 03, 2017 2:49 PM

Guessing of course, but I have been assuming that FOX wanted her gone but did not want to be seen as pushing her out. So, they stayed as positive as they could while encouraging her to move on. Given the salary is unannounced (apparently) it is probably a cut.

The dumb [you know what] should have put up with the transitory put down and let the Trump thing go. Instead she ends up risking her career no matter how this turns out.

This is beyond silly: She states (with good reason) that nukes are dangerous. She states (correctly) that the US and Russia between them possess 93% of the world nukes. She mentions in passing that Trump intends to have better relations with Russia compared with his predecessors. And yet she sees a Trump administration is increasing the likelihood of nuclear war? All because Trump has called to modernize the US nuclear arsenal?

Both the US and Russia have enough of a nuclear arsenal to destroy the world several times over. The likelihood of nuclear war does not depend on whatever maintenance is done on the weapons. The likelihood is directly proportional to the animosity between the US and Russia.

To me this means that Trump is reducing the likelihood of nuclear war regardless of what anyone may think of his other policies.

The real question will be whether Sean Hannity gets the 9 pm slot or not. I'm betting he will...he's got strong connections in the Trump organization.

Blogger Happy LP9 January 03, 2017 3:34 PM

Megyn kissed Trump's ring whether she liked it or not.

Her hair! Don't cut your hair!

COMCASTNBC is disgusting. Good luck and make that money. Go enjoy the very trendy environment you'll be crying to quit from in a few years. Accusing them of sexual harassment or whatever. Book tours and soft news for Megyn, NBC will subdue her attitude further.

Megyn should go home, care for her family, tend to her husband and deprogram her mind from feminism but that wont happen - can imagine being married to that woman -

I suggest Megyn didn't like how Trump, Hannity and Assange get along, meaning when Assange and Hannity spoke that was another shiv into those at Foxnews whom don't heart Assange or even Drudge.

Megyn is entering a place of hell in that she walks into a helllish scene and sees pple standing in feces up their knees drinking coffee, Satan walks by and says "yeah, its easy time here, just coffee break."

Megyn coos and swoons. So happy because women are so obsessed with being happy.

Satan then says, "ok everyone coffee break over its time to stand on your heads again."

That is the status of MSM/America Media/NBC.

She's going to do a daytime news program on broadcast NBC, not MSNBC? What a hard slog, she's going to have to create an audience for that. She will probably try to do so by packaging it Oprah and soap like for the female audience, which is the only demographic slice that seems to watch daytime TV. And that's fitting with Megyn's feminist nature, which will only out even more I suspect. It's a risky gambit, the market seems saturated for all these estrogen festivals on daytime TV.

She says she wants a schedule more amenable to being a mom for her kids. That might explain the daytime thing, but they tacked on a Sunday show as well? Well, juggling mother prioritizes schedule for kids, to demonstrate virtue!, then immediately torpedoes the effort by biting off even more to chew.

She's got a work to do if she wants to compete with 60 Minutes, too, which looks like the gambit. In her one broadcast special, she had Trump and drew big there. He helped her out as matter of fact. Other guests were Laverne Cox, OJ lawyer Robert Shapiro, and Michael Douglass. The Cox segment was utterly gross, it was an insanely huge turn-off as she coo'ed up to Cox talking about how great it was to snuggle up next to a beautiful man. I mean seriously. The Shapiro segment seemed to be the most pointless thing ever, until Michael Douglass came out for the sole apparent reason to announce, "I'm still alive." Yes, that's how bad it was. Trump saved it for her.

I think she's on the Paula Zahn trajectory, the last hot blonde anchor to bolt from Fox for the greater MSM, and then have her career suddenly cool off and fade away in short order.

Given that she had betrayed her superiors with (true or false) charges of sexual harassment, I think they were looking to lose her.
I can't imagine what NBC thinks they are getting. It's not like she's a first or even second-class intellect, and her looks have... not improved. He's not quite at the wall yet, but she's accelerating. Soon she'll be just another blonde creation of the plastic surgeon, with the attractive personality of a Chihuahua in heat.

Sadly, they'll do nothing at all for her personality, and perhaps may amplify it a bit.

Kinda gots to have one first. Her personality is on the stylist's floor.

Ouch. That's going to leave a mark. :)

Ellen makes 60mm a year on her daytime tv show.

She's worth every penny given the way she manipulates her male guests into taking their shirts off. Imagine the uproar if a male host tried to do the same with female guests.

So they are playing musical chairs on the SS Mainstream "Titanic" Media, now? I wonder what tune the band is playing... I wonder if it's the same one the media hears? Sounds like a dirge to me, but the dancers look as though they are moving to Thriller.

Fun times, God Emperor... fun times.

Actually, her exchange with Mr Trump may have catapulted the God Emperor to the Cherry Blossom Throne as he uttered the immortal words "only Rosie O'Donnell", thereby cementing that phrase among the greatest debate lines in the history of the universe. The rest is history

It's amazing that Megan Kelly does not see that she is being Dixie Chicked. Does she really believe that NBC really wants her to build an audience from scratch when she completely lost her audience at Fox?

What's next? A racy photo spread at Rolling Stone?

The only guy I know of who would do that would be Howard Stern.

Wrong! I dont care for MKelly for her feminism and her playing mommy while working, she needs to stop, go home, raise children and care for her husband. NBC IS NOT the place for her either -

Hasn't anyone else noted she is insufferable like Ben Shapiro to watch or listen to? Anyone?

Blogger Happy LP9 January 03, 2017 10:13 PM

84 I cracked up! Our ballet group loves the 1991 or 1992 cd and even will do modern dance for "Too much Information." The comedy!

Great to read I'm not alone on not wanting a phone or cable tv. The internet and independent researching is most individualistic. There is TV for gaming. COMCASTNBC begs pple to sign up for cable, phone, web, etc., they are so absurd to the point the FCC fines the living daylights of them but its really pennies, FCC fined Comcast $2.3 million in 2016 over their nonsense. So Wonderful!

OpenID dreadilkzee January 03, 2017 11:32 PM

I am sure she is making more money in her new role but look what they are having her do and the spin required for it.
* A day time slot (Evening is prime time, not daytime)
* Sunday Evening (Better news slot but not the premo 19:00 to 21:00
* She gets to be on the political talk biz. Possibly the best part of the new gig.

So it looks like she is working more hours to get more money, and I bet she still doesn't touch O'Rielly's salary for is 1 hour tv spot during the weekdays.

Blogger LonestarWhacko January 04, 2017 12:13 AM

Really, who cares? She's a leftist-feminist. Yeah, she's going to go after Trump. Either he handles it or he doesn't. I gotta figure he'll do just fine.

It really doesn't matter where she goes. She's old tuna wherever she ends up. As for an audience, maybe a bigger slice of a shrinking pie? Do you care if NBC goes into a dark hole with this tunafish? That would be a real hoot if they lost their shorts. Point is, she was never on our side.

She's gonna have to go after Trump big time. Trump has a private Intelligence service, imo. I believe he will start calling out the lugenpresse, mentioning dirty little secrets....that would fit what I know about Trump.

Blogger Quicksilver75 January 04, 2017 12:29 AM

She was a consummate narcissist. Her persona, style, looks, & instincts were all....."self self self...come my legions of admirers and kneel before Queen Megyn, and I may grant you favors, insider wisdom, and the privilege of admiring me...."

MSNBC paid her more, but that doesn't mean it's a good strategic business decision. They think they're going to siphon off some of FoxNews' crowd. That's the business case. The fact the media is infested with liberal rah-rah you go grrl types means the ideology is causing their strategic business decisions to be extremely biased. They're going to find out that Kelly's viewership isn't going to come with her, and she really isn't liberal enough to appeal to the same sorts that Corey Haim looking chick on there draws.

Ideologically driven business decisions that turned out to be flops is far from unheard of in that business.

And Nate's spot on with his assessment of O'Reilly. I was gifted the Killing Patton book. After reading it, there was about 1 chapter of actual speculation as to a conspiracy behind his death. The rest was stuff you could have fished out of any biography on the man.

111 Ah...I understand. Well, then I am Trumped. I love Ivanka, I do not heart Megyn. How can I love a feminist, it can't be done...

I also did not know both women have 3 children. I thought Megyn only had one child. Overall, I shall stand by my comments and enforce this; Megyn, go raise your 3 kids and one husband.

Megyn Kissed the Ring of the Patriarch(y) Trump and cried to NBC.

And you failed the "Old Timer Test". Relax, it's not really important.

But no, you're a spring chicken. Now, if (like some of us) you consider the Beatles, the Who, the Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Seger (just to name a few) to be contemporary music; then you may be getting there.

I would love to have the opportunity sometime to tell Jane Fonda to her face that I consider Barbarella her best work. The explosion would be so worth it.
