Welcome to the Alt-Right

Ace of Spades has begun the journey that ends with consciously, knowingly, willingly, joining us:
I no longer have any investment in any particular political values, save one: The rules created by the left will be applied to the left as equally and punitively as they have applied them to the right. And when they beg for mercy, I'll begin to reconsider. Or maybe not. Because fuck these people.
The journey of a thousand leagues begins with but a single step. And THAT is the first step into the Alt-Right.

From the 16 Points of the Alt-Right

3. The Alt Right is not a defensive attitude and rejects the concept of noble and principled defeat. It is a forward-thinking philosophy of offense, in every sense of that term. The Alt Right believes in victory through persistence and remaining in harmony with science, reality, cultural tradition, and the lessons of history.

I have to admit, I'm very much enjoying what has somehow become the ritual Alt-Right greeting of late.

"Are you tired of winning yet?"

Attack, attack, attack, attack, attack. Cause fuck those people.

The ruthless and unwarranted attack on a pizza parlor in the middle of nowhere for the theoretical refusal to cater a gay wedding isn't what "woke" me, but it really pissed me off. Possibly because I have relatives that used to run a pizza business in a small, rural town.

I am seeing more Churchians come along to us. They have a small taste of victory, and they like it. Plus, they've seen the depravity of the other side marching this weekend dressed as vaginas. Not so long ago, all it took was one shepherd boy to insult his enemy's race and religion before he decapitated their giant leader, giving the rest of his people the courage to rout their enemy on the battlefield. Because fuck these people.

Rorschach's Journal. October 12th, 1985: Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll whisper "no."

That sums up my attitude towards the left.

@21 burning coal on the Trump express?

The whole militant "be for gay marriage or we'll destroy you" was the tipping point. Memories pizza, Brendan Eich, then Obergefell where they said they were going to Bob Jones the exempt status of all Christians.

The "we're nice just looking for equality and help the poor" mask came off. And it is hard to paint Apple's Cook as vicTim. Basically "We want to burn down everything Christian, who's with me?". Somewhere along the gay marriage carpet bombing of Christians was a Pearl Harbor. Add in the can't say Islamic terrorism. Plus must ban guns!

The left became deeply militant too early, before the demographic shift (the bloody civil war 2 would be the result).

I'm a young, Christian, suburban, grad-school educated, white male, married with four children. After years of struggling unsuccessfully to fit the "conservative" ideology into my personal philosophical frame, I stumbled across the Alt-Right through the Christian manosphere and it fit like a perfect glove. I was comforted to realize that all these years of feeling conflicted about "conservatism" was just my natural reflex against being cucked. Also, for men who value truth over Utopian fantasy, cognitive dissonance is a bitch. Thank you to VD and others for articulating the truth. Now, if only I find similar truth-seeking men in my left-coast community.

From the link:

In short, many religious Christians of a traditionalist bent believed that liberals not only reduce their deeply held beliefs to bigotry, but want to run them out of their jobs, close down their stores and undermine their institutions. When I first posted about this on Facebook, I wrote that I hope liberals really enjoyed running Brendan Eich out of his job and closing down the Sweet Cakes bakery, because it cost them the Supreme Court. I’ll add now that I hope Verrilli enjoyed putting the fear of government into the God-fearing because it cost his party the election.

So the {non-Alt}-right never heard Vince Lombardi's "show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser"? Ignoring Lombardi sounds un-American to me.

Ace was pro-Cruz. When Cruz lost, he jumped on supporting Trump and bashed the never-Trumpers as delusional and trying to push Hillary.

Ace was Never-Trump himself.

He jumped on board later...and then he jumped off...and then on...then off again.

This is a common response to anything going wrong, the sad tears of a a "decent" person, or some liberal calling Ace a hurtful name.

This was after Trump called Fiorina something mean.

But for many of us weaker Trump partisans, ideology is just one piece of the puzzle; another piece is electability.

And while Trump had been doing a good job showing he might be electable after all, he once again, unthinkingly, blew himself up again in the exact way his critics predicted he would.

He is 69 years old. He has lived in a bubble of validation and Yes-Men all his life.

He is no longer capable of learning.

I had hoped against hope that his mind was not yet so calcified that learning was beyond him, but it turns out it is.

He doesn't learn, and frankly, I think it's because he's narcissistic enough to think he needs no more learning.

He went to Wharton, you know.

So I'm back off the Trump train.

If he shows any capability of learning, or of simply comprehending that he cannot win while he continues rubbing his luxurious, classy dick all over precious status-conferring codes of behavior deeply believed by one third of the conservative coalition -- if he actually demonstrates a rudimentary understanding of his own self-interest -- maybe I'll reconsider him.

But for now, he stinks of a loser to me.

He will not win the presidency that way. He may win the nomination in a broken field, but not the presidency.

If Ace has decided to move towards the Alt-Right then good. He is a decent writer, but he collapses under pressure time and time again. Ace is a conservative who is emotionally invested with liberalism. Not sure how much I would trust him.

Blogger Robert Divinity January 26, 2017 1:01 PM

It's heartening to see AoS and other conventional conservative outlets become realistic about what we face. There probably will be a few hold-outs--National Review and Fox are likely--because of "muh principles" along with a vain hope that niche will keep them relevant and/or afloat.

The left became deeply militant too early, before the demographic shift (the bloody civil war 2 would be the result).

This, partially.

The left-wing jumped the gun too early and lost white women before the numbers allowed them to be thrown to the wolves, too. Hence, we have Michael Moore bellowing about female Trump voters unconsciously manipulated by "misogyny, sexism." The civil war is here. Now. AoS and others no longer can deny it.

It's not that he believes in the Race is a social construct thing, but rather the proposition nation stuff I think. Would like to re-emphasize this, since VD's post creates an impression that Ace of Spades is the writer of the excerpt. The linked blogpost is a guest post, indicated by the attribution at the bottom, "Posted by Open Blogger". The name in brackets in the title, [Warden], is the actual writer.

This doesn't change VD's overall thesis, though, in that this blogpost represents a shift in the blog's content and what Ace is willing to tolerate and allowed posted on the blog. There used to be a much stronger NeverTrump/cuckservative slant. IIRC, a co-blogger once attempted to write something touching on race realism but it got deleted by Ace.

I think part of the shift was driven by Gamma antics by NeverTrumpers in the comments. A few of them managed to get banned for their behavior long before Trump won.

Right, but I believe, going forward, President Trump is going to continue to escalate the rhetoric concerning God. There are large factions within the Alt-Right that find believers, like you, me and President Trump, ignorant, unreasonable and offensive.

Even Spencer is softening on Christianity. There is plenty of talk amongst the non-autistic far right about being "Culturally Christian". This is the religious equivalent of civic nationalism: eventually a lot of them will end up just flat out Christian, particularly as they come into contact with pre-Reformation thinkers.

The autistic cranks, who necessarily where the only types of people willing to take these positions previously, will decline as a percentage of the identitarian movement. The others will either recognize the value of religion or, God willing, become believers.

There will always be varying opinions, but, over time, I expect the Alt-Right to become much more Christian.

Somewhat O/T - This is how you respond to "Punching Nazis" rhetoric: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C3GscujWYAEANe0.jpg:large

No, it doesn't matter if you agree. Yes, the dialogue is stilted. But the imagery is perfect.

I am a Christian and Alt-Right. No conflict. In fact, I am seated with Christ at God's Alt-Right hand. That is in the Bible somewhere I am certain.

Just keep your ankles covered up and you'll be totally safe from them. How about a nice pair of spats?

Fight back, in kind.

I'm generally libertarian. I'm all for the principles of non-aggression, rule of law, and civility.

What the cucks don't get is that muh principles apply within the context of *reciprocity*.

One way cease fire is suicide
One way rule of law is subjection
One way civility is submission

There is currently no way to have peace with the Left. They just don't want it. And why should they?

The Right has taught them that *crime pays*. The Left has no reason to submit to principles of reciprocal peace because the Right continues to give them the benefit of that peace while not making them pay a price for breaching that peace.

Maybe a few years of Trump foot up Progressive ass will be enough to teach them the wonders of *reciprocal* non-aggression.

But I doubt it.

Until then, fight back in kind.

That's surprising to me.

My impression was that Vox and most of the Alt-Right considered Christianity one of the defining characteristics of the Alt-Right, and were biding their time for the right moment to push the unbelievers in their midst off a cliff.

Justin Trudeau is to Canada what Obama was to the USA. Apparently enough voters who remembered daddy Pierre have died or the universal health care doesn't treat their dementia.

They're not large any more, and they're growing increasingly smaller over time. As long as they shoot at the enemy, I'll stand by them.

"Justin Trudeau is to Canada what Obama was to the USA."

Bingo. Most Canadians just aren't pissed-off enough yet to go alt-right. But Trudeau is working hard to get them there.

@81 100%, totally on point. High fives!
@83 There seems to be a big shift happening in the alt-right; the alt-white are losing ground fast to the alt-west, and the alt-lite is going like a forest fire.

The alt-lite could be defined as anyone on the right who prefers the feeling of winning to the feeling of a hard-left cock rammed to the balls in his arse.

"remaining in harmony with science"

Science, or our understand of ourselves and our world, is constantly changing. 95 percent of what we think we knew 500 years ago was wrong. The half life of medical 'fact' is 20 years for instance. Science is evolving, shifting, changing constantly. To build a foundation upon this shifting sand is, frankly, stupid.

Try 'truth'. That's where one builds a solid foundation.

I smell bullshit.

Fred wrote:95 percent of what we think we knew 500 years ago was wrong.
Considering that the scientific method dates to the late 17th century, just what DID we actually KNOW from 500 years ago?  Meaning, not passed down from folklore... or Biblical exegesis?

The half life of medical 'fact' is 20 years for instance.
ORLY?  What about the claimed properties of aspirin, or efficacy of appendectomy for appendicitis, has changed in 20 years?

What you appear to be talking about is the replacement of folklore by actual tested knowledge and claiming it's something completely different.

Blogger S1AL January 28, 2017 2:37 PM

Mr. Rational -

For starters, 500 years ago we had geometry, a good deal of metallurgy, crop rotation, an accurate estimate of the size of the planet, the underlying principles of architecture... Need I go on?

As for an appendectomy, we now know that the appendix is not a vestigial organ and we have a much better understanding of what causes appendicitis.

But nice try at cherry-picking.

But no calculus with which to understand it, and only the rudiments of algebra.  Newton and Leibniz wouldn't get calculus done for almost another 2 centuries.

a good deal of metallurgy
No, they had metalworking, which is not a science.  Nobody knew why copper and tin worked better together than copper and lead, just that they did.  Nobody did analytical testing of metal properties, even those they could have done.

crop rotation
But no idea why it worked.  Folklore.

an accurate estimate of the size of the planet
Yet no clue about the size of the solar system.  They lucked out on the distance to the Moon.

the underlying principles of architecture...
No they didn't.  The principles of statics wouldn't be worked out for centuries; this is why a lot of cathedrals fell down.  Guesstimates were often wrong, rules of thumb misunderstood or misapplied beyond their area of usability.  Two examples just from England:  Malmesbury Abbey and the central spire of Lincoln Cathedral.

You can work this stuff out with algebra, but first you need the practice of analytical statics.

Need I go on?
Yes, tell me why things were so much better in The Good Old Days.  I know we build cheap crap today, but that cheap crap still generally outlasts its mortgage and we only do it because we may have to leave it to the dindus at any time.
