Too fab, too strong

They can't handle the Milo:
Bill Maher is making no apologies for booking Milo Yiannopoulos on HBO’s “Real Time” this Friday, saying Jeremy Scahill’s refusal to appear on the show out of protest of the conservative firebrand is one of the reasons why Democrats lost the election to President Trump. Mr. Scahill, founding editor of The Intercept, posted a lengthy statement on Twitter Wednesday evening announcing that he was dropping out of his scheduled appearance on Friday’s show because he disagrees with giving Mr. Yiannopoulos a platform to “spew his hateful diatribes.”
What a shame that Jeremy Scahill is such a horrible homophobe. This should be interesting, as I've seen Milo run rough-shod over UK TV journalists who are much smarter than Bill Maher. Maher isn't verbally slow, but I will be very surprised if he can keep up with Milo. I think it's fascinating that he's even willing to try.

It is true, however, that the Left's complete cowardice in this regard doesn't fool anyone except the low-IQ true believers. Who does the Left have in the media that can possibly hold their own in a debate with Mike, Milo, me, or Stefan? They don't have anyone. That's why they run.

The idea that Maher is "giving Milo a platform" is absurd. Milo doesn't need a platform. Milo IS a platform.

Scahill is also racist, as Milo is aa proponent of interracial cooperation. (At least between Milo and his boyfriends)

The SJWs screamed for attention and not that they have it, the results aren't exactly what they were expecting.

The public saw their true colors and want none of it. Bossy, arrogant, deceitful. The list goes on.

Just watch Laurie Penny on yt for a perfect example.

Doubtful. Maher would enjoy it too much.

I have to say, as much as I disagree with Maher on almost everything, I've seen him on Riding in Cars with Comedians, and when not working, he comes off as a sincere and genuine person. He has always given those with opposing views a platform on his show; Ann Coulter is a regular, and he had the rising star of a personality Tomi Lahren on recently as well, also it was refreshing to hear a liberal point out the hypocrisy of the lefts love affair with Islam without apologies. I don't watch Maher ever... but, I will be tuning in to see Milo, so I suspect that HBO's going to see a ratings surge, and I hope they are paying attention, and I hope they interpret it correctly, and (wishful thinking) that they act accordingly and perhaps consider adding some more right leaning programming. But you know what they say, wish in one hand, and shit in the other, and see which one weighs more.

You have to tune in for Maher's hair alone; an irradiated Fukushima caterpillar found a place to die. Though it is getting more tolerable as he ages.

The Left really has atrophied and degraded over the last 20 years. They used to be much more talented. Sad!

Maher just moved up a notch, IMO. Sure, booking Milo is probably an effort at grabbing ratings, but he's taking a risk here that almost all of his fellow travellers would avoid at all costs. Maher may be a a lot of bad things, but he's obviously not a coward.

Contrary to many here, I never thought Ryan was a Gamma. He is obviously a Beta. It was wrong to put him in leadership, and his inability to handle it, and his retreat into cucking is just the external sign of that.
Given a real leader, Ryan will line up like a good soldier and do his duty.
He's certainly smart enough and insider enough to get some stuff done.

Milo was good, but not at his best. Seemed to have more of a staccato than I've observed before.

It's amazing watching the two bumbling idiots to the left of Representative Jack Kingston; way out of their league. Though unfortunately, when Maher said, "Comey fucked Hillary" the retort by Kingston should have been, "No, Hillary fucked Hillary".

Anonymous james@wpc February 17, 2017 11:46 PM

Jeremy Scahill threatened to pull out of a London conference on peace in Syria maybe 3 yrs ago because Mother Agnes Mariam de la Croix was invited to speak. Mother Agnes is the 'real deal' and lives and works for peace in Syria.

Scahill is a pussy and thoroughly untrustworthy because of that.

Anonymous Cantostop February 17, 2017 11:51 PM

Just watched the Milo segment, some thoughts:

-I know Milo's overly-flamboyant homosexual thing has worked wonders, this is the first time I thought he overdid it... then again, much of the audience probably hadn't seen him before to compare.

-From what I've seen he can run circles around most interviewers, sometimes to the point of looking like he's high (he might be), and it's a sight to behold. Maher seemed prepared and knew not to engage in this way. Milo seemed ready for battle, but was instead greeted with a white flag, which seemed to catch him off guard, and combined with the ultra flamboyancy made him look scattered. In gamespeak Maher seemed to "control the frame", for maybe the first half.

-The "except Catholocism which is awesome" bit was ill-timed and did not seem authentic in the least. People can smell inauthenticity.

-Whatever his motivations (failing ratings etc) I have some respect for Maher now, not that I've watched him for more than more than fifteen cumulative minutes. Maher seemed genuinely excited as he grabbed his cue cards to read off the non-PC commentary, and he seemed to really enjoy calling Milo a fag, like he was liberated; afterwards he smiled like a mischiveous child, unsure about the repercussions but feeling it worth it anyway.

Overall, interesting.

Blogger Kona Commuter February 17, 2017 11:54 PM

I agree that Milo wasn't running at his best. He's got thick skin I'll give him that.

He missed the opportunity to comment re: preferring Saudi's over Russians. That would have been an opportunity for a home run.

Also he needs a more aggressive come back to being accused of being the alt-right leader & the alt-right being "Nazi's". IMHO the Alt-right being Nazi accusation just needs to be met with "They were utterly defeated years ago and Nazi's are left wing, err your side of politics".

Blogger Doc Rampage February 18, 2017 12:02 AM

Could not believe Maher's little bitch move at the end where he took a shot at Trump completely out of the blue and then ended the interview without giving Milo a chance to respond.

And Maher seemed to really enjoy the whole sherade.

Scahill is a pretender, a poseur, a playacter at dissent. Oh yes he loves the adulation of the Left when he does his "stick it to the Man!" schtick. But as soon as someone dissents from his orthodoxy we see his innate authoritarianism.

Like all the Left, he's not opposed to authoritarian practice nor philosophy; he's only opposed to tyrannical powers being in the wrong hands. As soon as it is in hands of which he approves - namely, his own - he is content with its existence and exercise.

The liberal, he who opposes centralised power because he sees its ends (which are inevitable given the facts of human nature), relishes dissent. He knows that truth needs no defense, it is capable of standing on its own merits.

Truth-tellers and defenders of the rights of others do not need to banish, oppress, suppress, bring down the vast hammer of the law against people who merely have a dissenting opinion.

Scahill is a fake. A fake liberal working for a fake news agent.

Entirely fitting, really.

Malcolm Nance comes across like a shill for someone. His first three attacks to Milo were completely ad hominem, this seemed to be clearly intentional to see if Milo would be rattled. Milo of course, responded by saying he was stupid, of course batting the ad hominem right back.
Then Bill and Malcolm Nance were shaming the voting fraud thing saying it was debunked rather than debating it, using a shaming tactic on that in hopes it won't be investigated. I would have shot back "Bill, there are millions of illegal aliens in this country, if they had voted, which side do you think they would have voted for? There is certainly motive there, and illegal aliens have already been arrested and convicted for voting in Texas."
Then they repeated this ridiculous Russia meme. The reason democrat emails were so easily hacked was because at some levels they were intentionally left exposed to give info to foreign parties that provided money to the democrats through the Clinton foundation. At other levels, just very sloppy. Selling secrets for bribery.
Nance is literally spreading disinformation in every point he makes. It seems to be intentional, a smokescreen to hide that there was voter fraud, Russia did not hack the election, and worse still is being hidden. Pizzagate anyone?

Anonymous Nick February 18, 2017 2:59 AM

I just watched both segments. I agree with @Cantostop above, I think Milo overdid it with the flamboyancy, hard to believe but nerves maybe? I think it took five minutes before he settled down and revealed his intellectual chops.

The second segment with the panel turned out badly IMHO, but it was planned that way. Basically three leftists (two of them black) and a useless puppet Republican. The audience sounded like mostly progs and they must have had electric prods under their seats for applause lines, because the applause and cheering in some places was way out of proportion to whatever "zinger" that came out of one of the leftist panelists.

This is probably one of the tougher environments for Milo since Maher's format, like the Daily Show, is basically to make conservatives look like idiots. I was disappointed though to hear Milo try to disassociate himself from the Alt-Right by throwing it under the bus with the Daily Stormer after reciting Hillary's "Deplorables" litany of stereotypes. Playing ball in the mass media's leftist playground is dirty business. Credit to Milo, Coulter and a handful of others for putting themselves out there, but as long as they're going onto hostile platforms, especially as anti-Trump hatred reaches a fever pitch, it's not clear to me what being a foil for leftist boilerplate is going to achieve. I'd rather see Milo and Ann, perhaps together, with their own show.

O/T: As they say, interesting if true. Also interesting if the source is actually at the DHS, because of the topic under discussion.

Q. So it seems like the intel community has it in for Trump. How can he protect himself?

A. ... the unspoken alliance of Israel and Saudi Arabia should be exposed. They are brother and sister. Jared Kushner needs to be careful with what he says and to whom. But, the biggest thing Trump can do is expose PedoGate via Sessions. Big names will go down hard, and it gets the blood suckers drained from the swamp. ... I can tell you that what is in Anthony Weiner’s hard drive, and what videos exist via Jeffery Epstein, WILL BRING massive arrests – in time. ...

...

Q. So they demonize Putin and try to tarnish the Trump administration?

A. The Deep State is at war with both Trump and Putin. Understand that when Israeli intelligence hears “America first” from Trump, they go apeshit. Israel has bribed, extorted and intimidated our politicians for decades and suddenly this upstart billionaire threatens to ruin everything.

Q. You mention the word extort. Does that relate to Pizzagate?

A. PedoGate is only a modern term associated with a long history of Pedo-blackmail connected to both Israel and the Intel community. There is a full court press to stop PedoGate from being looked at because if people knew the true motives behind the pedophilia epidemic, they would do more than march on Washington. ...

Scahill made his name attacking Blackwater during the Bush years. At the time I thought he was right to criticize the rise of a private army. Now, I'm inclined to think that Blackwater are probably some of the good guys, and Scahill is a typical left wing doofus who publishes with Seven Stories, South End, AK, and the other far-left presses that mysteriously never lack funding and always have their titles prominently featured at bookstores. I guess someone's gotta fill Noam Chomsky's and Michael Parenti's loafers when they finally croak.

I wasn't suggesting he defend the Alt-White, they're no friends of his. You're right that he's dealing with morons so it's probably too much to expect much nuance in that environment when he's being interrupted and laughed at. However he did nothing to challenge the premise that Alt-Right=Nazi/Anti-Semite. He says he's not Alt-Right so he's not obligated to, but you are, doesn't that create some dissonance in the broad movement (Alt-West, Alt-Light, etc.) that you, him, and millions more of us are a part of?

I'm a big fan of Milo's and think he's one of the most capable defenders of Western civilization that we have, and I think he's largely in line with the Alt-Right, but for branding purposes doesn't want to associate with it. I know these gradations will sort themselves out with time, but I wonder whether calling oneself "Alt-Right" makes sense at this point when it just seems to paint a target on your back?
