Bureaucratic resistance

On March 6, 2017, the President signed a new Executive Order (E.O.) on Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States that contains provisions that impact visa adjudication and issuance procedures (NOTE: this E.O. does not yet have a number.  End Note).  This new E.O. has an effective date of March 16, 2017 and revokes its predecessor, E.O. 13769, as of that date.  We will not begin implementing the new E.O. until the Department of Justice confirms that pending litigation does not interfere with implementation of the new E.O.  Further guidance will follow.

Clever difference in the worded content of this one. It relates to not issuing visas in the embassies. And the legal reach of the US court system is a lot weaker on that point. So instead of stopping people in airports when they hit US soil -- they just never get on the airplanes at all because they don't have visas. No one with a visa is impacted. Clever.

Just stop with the blackpilling Jourdan. JFC Trump didn't build his real estate empire in two months. He's had setbacks before, big ones, and he survived and became stronger. I used to read your posts at MPC and didn't think everything you said was blackpilling, but just calm the hell down. So far the man is still standing tall and pushing forward. The few times I started to doubt Trump, he ALWAYS came through. Actually, I can't think of a time where he's failed. Sometimes it looked like it, but then it became obvious he made his enemies look like the fumbling fools they are.

Too many people are too used to losing. It's easy to get that way after living through the last thirty years. Throw in the general pessimism of reactionary rightists and it's inevitable to feel that old we're losing crap.

Perhaps I am completely wrong, however I do not see the United States or any other state as they currently exist engaging and large-scale deportation of any particular group. The rest of the world would scream bloody murder as the neo-marxist globalization power Brokers still have enough control where they would never allow that to occur. Besides that the average Joe is in no way ready to stomach the chaos and misery associated with deporting, one way or another, that many people.

In my personal opinion history would suggest that all of these individual ethnic groups will see some level of noticeable separation whether that's through violent means or through the mass movement of groups of people by area governments. The question is if governments and their current state are not capable and or willing of doing this what occurs to change the state of governments such that they will engage in these activities. The obvious and easy answer is a hot global conflict. Although there are most certainly other avenues that can produce the same results that are not quite as intellectually lightweight as just calling for World War 3

There are a significant number of people who are ready and willing to act however the opportunity cost of acting is still significantly too high compared to maintaining the status quo big office of how psychologically painful that may be. Greater than Minds than mine they have an idea of what triggers that break point or the opportunity cost favors action as opposed to the status quo.

Blogger Jourdan March 06, 2017 8:05 PM

@23 - Point here is about bureaucratic resistance to Trump, not Trump. You can call it blackpill or whatever in-group cool-kid lingo you want, but the FACT of the matter is that not one visa holder, not one refugee has been stopped. Not one. In fact, they opened up the gates as soon as the order was struck down.

Ok Jourdan what do you think Trump should do? My only concern about Trump early on was the fact that he was throwing out all these great ideas and I know it's almost impossible to fire the entrenched bureaucrats. Thing is if there's anyone that will find a work around, I think it's Trump. I don't know what shape it will take, but I'm optimistic he'll find one.

You work in it. How can he do it?

Blogger Jourdan March 06, 2017 8:15 PM

@29 Shove that "brother" bit up your ass.

As to what he could do, that is obvious. If I need to explain it we're in deeper trouble than I though. There are two possibilities right now: 1) he does not understand how USG works, but he will eventually, and he'll lead us to the Trumpenreich (great outcome); 2) he doesn't understand how USG works, and never will, and he'll be rendered powerless in short order by death-of-a-thousand-adverse rulings (in which case, my people realize that elections aren't the answer and we get ready to fight, great outcome).

So, either way, Trump is a great, great thing. We're going to fight and we're going to win, at some point. It's just a question of how we get there.

This has always been my view--either way we win--which as you can see is total "blackpill".

So stop crying about my view. You don't like it, tough shit.

The election of Trump has pretty much guaranteed the coming conflict has been pushed up by quite a bit I think. @33 In his defense, the man is in the trenches at the State Department. Though I only interned there years ago at an embassy, what he says jives with what I saw. It's not cuck whining. The State Department is still issuing visas, etc.

Blogger Jourdan March 06, 2017 8:37 PM

@33 Yeah, five posts about my "tone" and it's me who's whining. Perhaps you'd do better in an environment where everyone agrees with everyone else. Then nothing would bother you.

Blogger Jourdan March 06, 2017 8:42 PM

@34 - Exactly, that's what bothers me so much about this shit making it personal about me. I'm trying my best to let people outside of USG know exactly what is going on, without crossing any red-lines or breaking any confidences, so that my people, on whose side I am, will know what's going on.

And the result is crying about me being being the bearer of bad news.

You've worked in an Embassy, so you know what I'm talking about. Until you've been there and seen, day in and day out, thousands of people in line to collect their immigrant visas, nearly none of whom have any business whatsoever even thinking about going to the United States, it's all theoretical.

Right now, as this E.O. is ignored--again--it means thousands more Somalis and, Jesus Christ, Yemenis in our neighborhoods. I'm all for Trump--in fact when those who now throw "blackpill" around where crying like bitches about Trump losing the Republican nomination and talking about stupid shit like a "brokered convention," I was one of the few people saying that Trump was going to win it all, no problem, he was going to be the R nominee. Then, when I thought he would lose the general, solely due to demographic change, all that was forgotten and yesterday's doubters became True Soldiers.

Take it or leave it, but argue or shut up. This is not about depressives or optimists or any of that crap. Argue your point, that's it.

Anonymous Dack Thrombosis March 06, 2017 8:56 PM

Ok so what can Trump do about it? Outside of the EO stuff? The EO wasn't going to be a permanent solution no matter what since it can all be reversed. He'll need legislation to accomplish it and that's where I think he will get stuff done. He's a brutal negotiator or so I've read from several sources so I think he'll get something substantial through.

Of course if you think he can't accomplish that, then yeah you're probably right they'll keep streaming in. I find it difficult to believe he came into this without a long term plan though. From what I've seen he thinks this stuff out miles in advance. It's still plenty early and we haven't seen anything yet. We haven't even seen the full ripple effect of his election. It'll have repercussions for years to come.

Don't discount our friends pulling another terror attack stunt. They can always be relied upon for one of those. Another terrorist attack, or God forbid several, and you can see a sea change REAL quick especially now that it isn't Obama sitting in that office.

Given what a small pond the FS is you've got some balls brah, I'll tell you that much. What nobody understands until they've been there done that is every FSO either a) KNOWS every other FSO or b) KNOWS SOMEONE who knows them. It's 2 degrees of separation.

"Until you've been there and seen, day in and day out, thousands of people in line to collect their immigrant visas, nearly none of whom have any business whatsoever even thinking about going to the United States, it's all theoretical."

I remember one day being really pissed. The reason? U-1 visa applicants I had to fingerprint. For those of you that don't know, that's the domestic violence visa. Yes our State Department issues friggin domestic violence visas for people trying to escape the domestic violence in THEIR OWN COUNTRY. That ranks up there with the diversity lottery in terms of stupidity. That's right...not enough Syrians, Somalis, etc? They drop their names in the diversity visa lottery and some get picked.

"Right now, as this E.O. is ignored--again--it means thousands more Somalis and, Jesus Christ, Yemenis in our neighborhoods. I knew the moment the man came down the escalator that not only was he the nominee but that he was gonna win. People kept whining. A buddy from the country where I interned (we went to undergrad together) kept whining the night of the election (he is a dual citizen). I finally had to mute the damn WhatsApp conversation. He asked why. I said very diplomatically (pun intended) this isn't your 3rd world hell hole. He's gonna win or he isn't. Stop acting like a girl. The rest is history.

Yemenis and Somalis. Exactly! People think it's bad with Mexicans and Nicaraguans now? Go to St. Paul/Minneapolis. Go to Plainfield, Indiana (west side of Indy). Hell, go to Fishers!!!! That's right for those of you on the northside. Fishers has a nice mosque. /sarc

Keep in mind some of the f'ers that were AQ sympathizers in Iraq that we brought over as refugees and 'terps have better screening than what State can do. I kid you not.

@36 Knows what he's talking about!

@37 Short of whipping Congress into shape to get their testes out and actually do a legalized net zero immigration ban for 52 years, he can only drag his feet in implementation of the law. That's it.

Unfortunately, Trump can't ban the issuance of visas in those countries because Hart-Cellar (thanks again Ted Kennedy) prohibits discrimination in visa issuance by nationality. Either Trump is thrashing about aimlessly, or Trump has a plan and is setting up the bomb for our enemies. Trump hasn't been aimless much so far.

We should still keep on shouting that we aren't happy with the progress so far, not to keep the pressure on Trump, but to help him pressure our enemies.

@21: this is a critical difference. Back in 1990, Larry Tribe explained how the illegal alien scam works. Abdullah, a scammer with a legit passport, gets a US visa and boards a plane in overseas. He destroys his passport en route. When he arrives in New York he walks up to US Customs and declares he is a refugee seeking asylum. He gets a notice to appear before an immigration court sometime in the future and is turned loose. Canada followed a similar practice.

This struck me as utterly bizarre even then. You could claim ANY identity from ANY country with NO documentation and get turned loose.

Expect to hear screams from universities and employers when they start losing foreign tuition money and cheap workers because their foreign students/workers can't get instant visas.

In the 90's we had hundreds in a typing pool, entering data from paid invoices into the computers. Mostly black. They had a harsh taskmaster over that division and she ran a mean whip on the largely black population under her. I don't know that I ever heard a single black that ever said a nice word about her.

Then the military implemented online electronic bills of lading, rendering nearly entire typing pool useless overnight.

But no one gets fired. Nope. They just transferred them into PAYING bills. Where they had to think and add. Never mind that some were literally illiterate.

20 years later, we still have many of those idiots on board. And they still cannot think or add.
