The process of self-destruction

The Saker observes that the imperial USA is actively engaged in the process of destroying itself through multiple channels:
Political suicide: the Neocons’ refusal to accept the election of Donald Trump has resulted in a massive campaign to de-legitimize him. What the Neocons clearly fail to see, or don’t care about, is that by de-legitimizing Trump they are also de-legitimizing the entire political process which brought Trump to power and upon which the United States is built as a society. As a direct result of this campaign, not only are millions of Americans becoming disgusted with the political system they were indoctrinated to believe in, but internationally the notion of “American democracy” is becoming a sad joke.

And just to make things worse, the US corporate media is finally revealing its true face and has now unapologetically shown the entire world that not only is it not in any way “fair” or “objective”, but that it is a 100% prostituted propaganda machine which faithfully serves the interests of the US “deep state”.

A key element of the quasi-constant brainwashing of the average American has always been the regular holding of elections. Never mind that, at least until now, the outcome of these elections made very little difference inside the US and none at all outside, the goal was never to consult the people – the goal has always been to give the illusion of democracy and people-power. Now that the Democrats say that the Russians rigged the elections and the Republicans say that it was the Democrats and their millions of dead voters who tried stealing it, it become rather obvious that these elections were always a joke, a pseudo-democratic “liturgy”, a brainwashing ritual – you name it – but never about anything real.

The emergence of the concept of the 1% can be “credited” to the Obama Administration, since it was during Obama that the entire “Occupy Wall Street” movement took off, but the ultimate unmasking of the viciously evil true face of that 1% must be credited to Hillary with her truly historical confession in which she openly declared that those who oppose her were a “basket of deplorables”. We already knew, thanks to Victoria Nuland, what the AngloZionist leaders thought of the people of Europe, now we know what they think of the people of the USA: exactly the same thing.

The bottom line is this: I don’t think that the moral authority and political credibility of the US have ever been lower than today. Decades of propaganda by Hollywood and the official US media machine have now collapsed and nobody buys that counter-factual nonsense anymore.
It is really rather remarkable how desperately the bi-factional ruling party has been lashing out since the God-Emperor became the nominee, and how ineffectual their flailings have been. The unraveling of the government's moral authority is not yet complete, but it is advanced and aggressive.

Skepticism. The most underrated yet necessary attribute.

Sadly, this is lost in the PC age, from the bottom all the way to the top. So many layers of deception and distraction in order to deny this fundamental requirement.

Skepticism breeds accountability, predictability and trust. But, because of the circus of competing interests, TPTB use it to confuse and corrupt.

The child needs the security of growing up in a culture that provides this verifiability. And up the chain...

Perhaps we are seeing the rise of the aristocracy unmasked. The aristocracy will have to fight off the politbureau first. Perhaps we have chosen our first Emperor. They choose baal decades ago.

Trump was in Kentucky last night. He is adamant that we will win this fight. I believe him in that what victory can be achieved will be in the time we have left.

He was a good speaker and he is quickly becoming a great speaker.

The 'Deep State' has existed for a long time. But, take heart; our victory was all but assured with Donald Trump's nomination as Republican Presidential candidate. Everything else just moves us towards our ultimate triumph.

The 'Deep State' is like the man caught in quicksand. The more they flail and struggle against President Trump, the quicker they sink into oblivion.

How do you see 2018 going?

Do you see Trump just running rough shot over the GOP incumbent with the primary challengers?

Do you see us having a Super Majority? If so what do you think we will get past?

Do you think Ruth B Ginsberg will die within the summer/year?

How insane do you think losing her and or another judge will drive the left?

Will we see riots this summer as deportations increase?

Will we see you work with John Red Eagle again on another book like Cuckservatives?

I think the most telling thing was Nancy Pelosi's slip of the tongue when she called Donald Trump, "President Bush."

She just sort of slipped very naturally into a well worn groove.

This is how the Left conducts opposition to a Republican President now. All out war with a view towards impeachment.

Sort of like the last days of the Republic when the Caesar's opposition was determined to prosecute and exile him as a matter of course.

They couldn't even imagine another way of doing business.

At least until Caesar crossed the Rubicon.

I'm fascinated at how the destruction of the U.S. empire mirrors that of the Russian empire.

The Russians took in a large cohort of foreign Jews beginning in the 1790's, via the Pale of Settlement. By 1920, about three or four generations later, they had destabilized ("de-legitimized") the historical Russian religious and political institutions and instituted a revolution that toppled the existing order.

The U.S. took in a large cohort of foreign Jews from the same region beginning in the 1880's. By the 2010's, about three or four generations later, the historical American religious and political institutions have been destabilized, and revolutionary intrigue and violence are underway to topple the existing order (with Trump filling in for the Czar).

Seems to be a pattern here ... . And the neocons' ongoing ethnic grudge against Russia gives it a nice symmetry.

The bigger story is the coming destruction of the USD and, God willing, the $IMFS. THAT is and has been the millstone around the neck of the American people (and the WESTERN Global community). And THAT is in the process of resolving itself. Once this destructive process has run its course, we will see the true mettle of the American people. There will be many settling of accounts, and perhaps even CW2, but in the end an opportunity for a return to the system our Forefathers envisioned.

I'm not a prepper per se, but if you haven't set aside 90 days of food and water, medicinals, and the means to defend them, I can't imagine what additional evidence you need to do so. Godspeed...

What, you mean that a financial system predicated on constantly expanding volume of debt might be a problem?

Or perhaps you're referring to the fact that the u.s. running a balanced budget would force the rest of the world into a recession since the u.s. dollar is the global Reserve currency that's not a problem at all is it?

This statement is a very good observation. One thing I figured was that Donald Trump getting the nomination would expose the corruption of the election process. It did.

Trump getting the president would expose the corruption and pure evil working in our government. It is.

This is not Donald Trumps work, though he is the target of the corruption and evil. I think it is God. One man cannot go to the depths of what is being exposed.

The unraveling of the government's moral authority is not yet complete, but it is advanced and aggressive. - VD

Excellent observation. And for it to be this advanced and this aggressive, it can't come from men. I honestly believe this is God at work. How else can one explain the corrupt and evil using their "best" weapons only to have it work against themselves.

I am truly honored and amazed at watching God move and work with in our system against this corrupt and evil. It really is a thing of beauty and precision.

I told my wife that I believe Donald Trump was raised up for this moment in history. God will use him to expose our leaders, our government, and us - The People to the world as corrupt and evil. What happens from there, I don't know. God isn't telling me. But then I haven't asked. I am truly awestruck.

As made obvious with this week's District Court FUBAR, once affirmative action hires spread to the Federal court bench, the path to oblivion was greased indeed.

During the long trip higher, social mood optimism, "Everything Is Awesome" provided both consent and ideological cover for all sorts of open idiocy.

It is the (open, but mostly unnoticed) idiocy embedded during the rising phase that creates the consequences finally visible during the bust phase.

From Teddy Roosevelt's or Wilson's presidency onward Americans turned ever more focus on the doings in DC. Radio, and then TV put that trend toward centralization on steroids, and in recent decades pretty much every story, every narrative of importance was staged (and stage-managed) in Washington DC (or its suburb, NYC.)

The (social) mood picked the dominant belief, and the dominant belief picked the rulers and how they were perceived.

Paradoxically, Leftists, in their zeal to portray Trump as a buffoon, break down the veneer of wisdom and respectability they already struggled to slap on low IQ morons in the Congressional Black Caucus (Maxine Waters, poster-child), the batty, money-grubbing crooks like Nancy Pelosi and the has-been puppets like McCain and Schumer.

All roads lead to the central state becoming less important to John Q Public. This will occur both by dawning realization of how stupid, venal and clownish are "our rulers," but also as people discover that Uncle Sam isn't everyone's daddy once his Mastercard is finally declined at the cash register.

We're not there yet, but all the signposts are aligning and soon the ship of state will go Full Poseidon Adventure. At that point, what is important will be local and familiar, and what is distant and unknown will be increasingly irrelevant. By the time the SCOTUS is switched from Hard Left to even Lite-Right it will already be fading into unimportance.

Yes, it's amazing to watch. What they should have done (and what I expected, because I overestimated them) was to put on a show of cooperating with President Trump, while resisting him at the bureaucratic level. This emotional, childish display is destroying their credibility, especially with the wishy-washy middle-Americans they will need if they ever want to win again.

A few days ago, I was talking to a woman who is about as mainstream as you can get. Her dad was a Trump supporter, and some female friends were Hillary supporters, so she said she basically flipped a coin at the ballot box and it came up Trump, so she voted for him. But she wasn't very confident about it. Now she is, because of all the attacks on him, plus the way liberals have been so hateful toward everyone who doesn't hate him as much as they do. She still doesn't really understand much of what's going on, but she senses that he must be doing something right to produce all this angst.

I've long thought civil war would erupt in the next thirty or forty years but it may be coming much sooner. The mandarins of the Imperial City of the Banana Empire are so drunk on hubris and greed it seems almost inevitable. Throw into the mix mediocrities who earn six figures and would be hard-pressed to get jobs as parking attendants elsewhere, and it's likely their desperation to hang onto their sinecures will tempt them to complete a coup or assassinate the president. If that happens CWII erupts immediately. Those who would spark it are blithely unaware of how limited their time on Earth would be if they overreach.

The federal government lost moral authority and political credibility long ago. Trump put the corrupt polity on life support but the arrogant status quo enforcers seems hellbent to pull out the tubes.

For a number of reasons, I should not be commenting on this. But it having been brought to my attention and having read it carefully, I realized there are some extraordinary claims that need to be disputed as they represent a profound misunderstanding of what happened in the United States over the past 12 months.

"Political suicide: the Neocons’ refusal to accept the election of Donald Trump has resulted in a massive campaign to de-legitimize him."

The idea that any campaign to delegitimize President Trump does not take into account the primary source of opposition to Trump: A hugely expanded group of Americans that can rightly be understood as an extension of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement. More importantly, those who have demonstrated the most vigor in opposing President Trump by taking to the streets and forcing their representatives in government to take a similar stance are created out of the same socio-economic circumstances that created the primary Trump voter: economically isolated Americans.

It is a profound (political) mistake to think the opposition to President Trump is driven by the traditional Neo Con. If the Neo Cons or near-Neo Cons chose to oppose President Trump vigorously, and in an organized way, you would see the Administration have no domestic legislative power. And that is clearly not the case. Right now the Trump administration is driving the legislative agenda and it has been embraced by the vast majority of GOP representatives and senators save a few moderates.

"And just to make things worse, the US corporate media is finally revealing its true face and has now unapologetically shown the entire world that not only is it not in any way “fair” or “objective”, but that it is a 100% prostituted propaganda machine which faithfully serves the interests of the US “deep state”."

It is impossible to construct an useful or authoritative analysis of a political situation by adopting a meme like this as a fundamental part of your foundational case. Saker has ignored the fact that President Trump and his team has made a serious of profound political missteps over the past 8 weeks that could not be ignored by the media, no matter their political disposition. Reporting, for example, on an accusation that an American president "wiretapped" a political opponent could never be ignored by any media of any political persuasion. Nor could you expect the media to not ask for proof.

With few exceptions the media has always been a reflection of its readers. American news consumers have largely become consumers of soundbytes and short attention spans. The Obama administration and its supporters in the media understood this perfectly (Mrs. Clinton, not so much). The Trump administration, by not containing itself and its expressions of discontent, has given Americans exactly what they most want: An easily understood crisis that can be easily internalized. They have failed completely to bring gravitas and complexity to their agenda. They have given the media every reason to focus on issues that have tangental relationship to their agenda.

The Saker doesn't see what the opposition sees: The rare opportunity to sit back and let opponents cut their own wrists out of media incompetence. The Trump administration is at risk as long as they fail to embrace discipline at the top and fail to realize that the difference between their supporters and Sanders supporters (growing) is small. There is no deep state that can't be defeated by competence.

Blogger mushroom March 21, 2017 9:51 AM

Trump was always the candidate of exposure. It's what I thought even when I didn't expect him to actually beat Clinton. He has drawn back the curtain on the Uniparty, the Deep State, the Narrative, and the illusion of a Democratic Republican form of government. Whatever he does or doesn't accomplish in office, we owe him for that.

Blogger dc.sunsets March 21, 2017 9:51 AM

@37 James Dixon, For me it's always about timing. The president (including the GE) doesn't move out beyond what the People are ready to embrace.

The best entrepreneurs can see where people are before they (we) even know it, but I do not believe entrepreneurs create that space, they just recognize its development faster.

Trump will not propose to pull the rug out from under tens of millions of people whose lives are structured around Uncle Sammy's willingness (and ability) to put everything on Mastercard. What this translates to is, I don't think policy will lead the bond market.

The Fed raised rates to match 13-week T-bill yields AFTER T-bill rates already changed. The Fed doesn't set rates, rates set Fed policy. This same principle must apply to Federal budgets and public policies.

Blogger Phat Repat March 21, 2017 9:57 AM

"This is the beauty of Trump's presidency. If Trump succeeds on the core part of his agenda, he'll help restore the nation. If the fifth column succeeds in eviscerating him, it will tear the house down around its own ears, and the nation can assert itself more directly. It's a win-win."

There will be no evisceration. But if the administration can't learn to discipline itself, there will be no advancement of an agenda.

All Trump needs to advance his agenda is enforce existing law. No one realizes just how lawless the US is right now.

The alt violent left, war loving neocons, this nonsense about we're all Russians, never trumpers cannot accept they lost, they remain in very triggered emotional pain over this rejection of their narratives, it might be too late to save America but POTUS Trump was the best choice, its embarrassing McCain, the Deep State to others are trying to sabotage this glorious administration.

I was elated to watch Don Lemon lets Farede Zakria use the term bills--t on live news 3 times - surreal, that gives me more power over comcastNBC (Rachel Madow illegally posting tax returns of our POTUS whom PAID DEARLY AND TOOK losses while libs and repubs were getting off paying 13 to 15%)every time they pressure me into cable tv, how can I bring your media into my home with their throwing complete fits and only serve as trashy tv, lies, distractions and pointless soft news info.
The Corporate media is also not paying their taxes, pumping stupid people full of anger - when I saw this and please turn the volume down and just observe what we have in America besides a border and sudden millennial jihad syndrome;

I cannot foresee 2018 right now in any normalcy whatsoever, I could never leave WV and place myself in these dangerous victim disarmament zones.

Locally my friends are saying things like this; they refuse to attend the schools and colleges b/c they view as a money and time drain that only seeks to insult their views, they dont see a ROI in Edu. My girlfriends kids (pittsburgh pa) wont go to school anymore because its all indoctrination, her child stood up for himself and the teacher flipped out on him and she was placed on administrative leave without pay -

We have a unsafe White House that is irrelevant, its a day office or just outdated, turn it into a museum or history store and set our POTUS free; he just needs his phone and tw-tar account, he planning GREAT things, and POTUS Trump's safety, happiness and security belongs whereEVER he calls home.

We have neither security, freedom, incentives to work, be successful, privacy or a future if POTUS was not elected, we need 50 years of Trumps, its the only way.

NASA bill: I adore the idea of sending congress and senate to space they are so brazen on their egos, send them all to space since they are vast space cadets.

POTUS told politicians to play ball with the ACA or face the American pple voting them all OUT as heretics!

OT:

I may have woke up a feminist in pittsbugh (yoga studio girl, she was going political upholding and praising Oprah for potus, Megyn Kelly and HRC, every woman in that room looked at me and because they know how I speak instead of following my instructions for yoga sequencing) I said, "Alice, little Eve, put the fruit down." She exploded and we continued working out.
