"We're winning!" he cried, as the ship went down

This is an almost remarkably stupid post by an SF-SJW who clearly has not been paying much attention to developments over the last two years or so.
The puppies’ experiences as nerd-fuhrers may well come to define their adult lives but their flirtations with moral entrepreneurship failed to secure them the kind of following that might provide access to the lucrative world of conservative cultural commentary. Even worse, their attempts to cultivate a right-wing alternative to the stuttering multiculturalism of mainstream genre spaces appears to have resulted in little more than a handful of underwhelming blogs supporting the work of a few self-publishing authors.
Let's see. VP is now the biggest, most well-trafficked blog of any science fiction writer. The Castalia House blog is seeing record traffic and already has more comments and commenters per post than Black Gate. Castalia House publishing continues to grow at a rate of 100+ percent year-on-year in both January and February. Larry Correia continues to sell vast quantities of books.

And a novel we published as an in-house joke is ranked much higher on Amazon than the current Hugo Award winner. On preorder.

Of course we're not weighing in heavily on the Hugos this year. The Dread Ilk decided not to do so last year, even before the rules changes were ratified. Instead, we used those resources to build Infogalactic and Infogalactic News, which already have more traffic than VP does. Gab is going gangbusters, Crypto.Fashion is doing extremely well - speaking of Rabid Puppies - and there are a whole host of other projects in various stages of development, some of which will directly affect the SF/F book publishing world.

And the God-Emperor now rules. Still. Not. Tired.

But let's not tell the secret kings on their sinking ships any of that. It's going to be vastly amusing to watch them panic and scurry once they realize that their Great and Powerful SF Establishment is not only full of holes and taking on water, it is on the verge of having to slash contracts and writers on a scale that we have never seen before.

Amazon has realized that the Pink SF invasion is not good for sales. The converged publishing houses that still haven't figured that out are going to die, and soon.

Then I realized -- SJWs always project, and that's some heavy projection right there. This mouthbreather can't imagine that anybody would want to do otherwise than the thing that xhe desires in s/h/it's heart of heart (to make money like Scalzi does in the echo chamber of SJW-Fi).

I'm beginning to disdain the whole warrior woman concept.
Don't get me wrong, I dont hate women or dislike women in fiction(author or character) its just the whole narrative is overblown.
Every sci-fi/fantasy book released these days has female soldiers like its totally natural and expected. Even the bigger writers on the SF/F field today are taking the bait. Mark Lawrence after his successful pair of trilogies is releasing a powerful woman warrior action epic Joe Abercrombie completely destroyed his YA venture by shifting goals in the second and third books and focusing on two strong women characters in a post apocalyptic medieval misogynistic world.
Its the Furiosa effect. Like Mad Max Fury road was the biggest troll in regards to film. They used the Mad MAx name and the character had maybe a 15 minute cameo, but otherwise it was the story of a pissed off woman freeing slaves and kicking ass.
Likewise every modern SF/F book has some glorious warrior maiden doing what the men do but better and oh so much braver because of her gender.
Vox is right there's gonna be a reckoning in the SF?F world because you can only ignore your base so long.
I miss the old coming of age stories for boys or young men. I miss the sense of getting lost in a novel without being jarred out of the story be the random unnecessary gay/lesbian insert character and casual use of female soldiers without any reflection on its impact on society or the new trope subversion method of denouncing monarchy and creating leftard versions of democracy while completely ignoring that no civilization can go from absolute monarchy to a democratic republic or direct democracy within months of a revolution, like its the most natural thing in the world.
The way pink SF is going this time next year there'll be no more male characters published and they'll probably regender the classics. Lady of the Rings might be the new thing.

Amusingly, the smug leftist idiot Jonathan McCalmont got one thing correct, although he had to quote someone else to do so;

But this temporary alliance of very different factions — the most stark being between the traditionalist right and the libertinism of chan culture — has produced a schizophrenic incoherence.

It certainly is schizophrenic! But far less self-destructively so than an alliance of upper middle-class white female feminists with ghetto male dindu savages, of LGBT with Muslim jihadis, or even of Hispanics with Asians.

@38

Shame The Rebel even posted that video, but are you sure it's not solely the views of that particular black idiot talking?

Anonymous Alice De Goon March 08, 2017 2:45 AM

@30 You hit the nail on the head and it's the reason I can't stand even free short adventure stories that I find online. There's this trend now where you'll start to read a first-person story told from the perspective of a two-fisted, hard-drinking, sailor-swearing soldier leading an expedition or fighting a monster and about 2/3rds of the way through you discover - QMG! - It's a WOMAN! How progressive! How believable! Women are just men with tits after all!

I also notice that, like the Scalzi example featured days ago, there are a lot of stories with horndog female military officers. I'm not that familiar with the military, but wouldn't ANY officer fucking a subordinate (even consensually) be grounds for dismissal? Wouldn't it at least disrupt trust and cohesion within the ranks? If you were to reverse the genders and have a male officer fucking female military staff, odds are pretty good he'd be portrayed as a villain. (and white.)

I don't mind a story where females fight (ideally as part of a resistance group or as an auxiliary force.) I don't even mind a princess having to lead an army or get her hands dirty in a pinch. But, modern shitlib writers, can we PLEASE stop having THAT ONE SCENE? You know, the scene where the male hero and the female hero are surrounded by enemies, and the male hero struggles to overcome them while the female hero wastes them with almost dancelike precision. Then the male hero looks at the female hero and says "Wow. Not bad for a girl" or something to that effect. (The only place this scene ever worked was in the movie Spaceballs and there it was done as a joke.) Unfortunately this scene was also in the latest Star Wars movie and it was done completely seriously. Red Letter Media savaged that particular SW scene as being devoid of meaningful character interaction and fun and I have to agree.

Huzzah!

Somewhat OT, but I just finished reading QUANTUM MORTIS Gravity Kills, and it was excellent, if a bit short (sort of a single serving SciFi story).

Got it on a lark via Kindle Unlimited after it popped up in one of those recommendation bars that Amazon loves, and liked the first few pages so much that I read the whole thing right then and there.

I really dig the short format. When I get a hold of something good, I have a tendency to stay with it until I'm finished, which means that I kind of have to avoid full length books lest I spend a whole day reading when I ought to be out in the shop making chips.

These shorter stories let me get my SciFi fix without it taking over the entire evening.

I've got A Throne of Bones bookmarked, but I suspect I'd better leave that one for a long holiday weekend. That way when I can't let go for two or three days straight, I won't be putting off work to do it.

Anyway, this was the first fiction work of Vox's that I've read (finished SJW's Always Lie this last Sunday), and I just wanted to say excellent work, sir.

Will it get the police to do their job or will it give the green light to other 'community safety officers' to take matters into their own hands?

Will there be litigation against the police for stickman's legal fees?

Will the councillors who ordered the police to stand down be held to account?

Crucial questions that impact how things play out going forward against antifa.

Anonymous Avalanche March 08, 2017 9:01 AM

@52 "You are only giving him views and comments, so he is the only one getting anything from this."

Not quite. The usual point of this sort of ... swarming ... is to reach the lurkers, the readers-not-participators. No one is ever going to awaken that blog "writer" (whiner), but the folks who wander around (was used to be) the sci-fi world MAY run across it (BECAUSE of lots of comments and a bit of snarking back-and-forth and the mentions elsewhere... and discover a whole new world: OURS!

So many good folks are out there unaware we even exist. They gave up on sci-fi a decade+ ago, when it turned gooey (or worse!). They don't know we're even out here changing the world. (They no longer go to cons or haunt bookstores or Amazon hoping-against-hope for real sci-fi.)

By 'wasting' our time on these idiot-bloggers, by answering and/or provoking the destroyers of sci-fi, we're shooting up a flare that "lost" folks who haven't looked in this direction might see and follow and find Castalia House and the Alt Right, Alt Tech, Alt World!

The old, Boomer, mass-media-focused way of thinking is that you should never give any attention to your enemies. It assumes that people will fall for anything, and that your enemies' ideas may be more seductive than yours, so the safest thing is to deny them an audience.

We don't have that problem, because we're confident in our beliefs. When we see something stupid, we're not afraid to spotlight it, knowing that other reasonable people will see the stupidity too.
