Would this really surprise you?

The intel leaker is reported to be Sen. John McCain:
This could be the beginning of the end for embattled Sen. John McCain’s life in politics. According to White House officials, McCain is believed to have somehow gained access to the content of President Donald Trump’s private, classified telephone calls with world leaders. And he isn’t keeping quiet about what was talked about either.

An analysis of McCain’s recent public statements by White House officials, coupled with information from intelligence personnel working with the Trump administration, paints a disturbing picture for McCain — or any elected U.S. politician. Officials believe the senator has inside knowledge of a number of President Trump’s telephone conversations, including at least one conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Even more alarming, officials believe McCain is secretly sharing this sensitive information with colleagues and his cabal of friendly mainstream media journalists in a dangerous clandestine campaign to damage Trump’s presidency even before it has a chance to succeed. Trump has been searching for media rats in the Beltway in recent weeks. White House aides are confident they have now outed one of the major leaks plaguing the early days of the Trump presidency. To everyone’s surprise, it is a senior senator supposedly belonging to the same side of the political aisle as the president.
Never trust a cuckservative. Never EVER trust a cuck. At least you can trust the Left to always shriek and attack you at every given opportunity. But a cuck will play Noble Sir while nobly opposing you on the basis of nobly going down to defeat on noble principle, all the while trying to sneak around and stab you in the back.

Cucks talk about nobility and honor and principle all the time for the same reason that Google talks about not being evil and Apple talks about the user experience.

On a tangential note:
Lt. Gen. Thomas Mcinerney weighed in on Devin Nunes' bombshell revelations that said the Trump team were being spied on by the NSA/CIA -- and it wasn't Russia related. The whole cover for the surveillance was supposed to be because Trump had a bunch of Ivans working for him, but that simply wasn't the case, or the concern, inside the Obama White House.

McInerney believes when all of the evidence comes out, Obama will rue the day he decided to spy on Trump. Moreover, he said the democrats are chimping out and fabricating a Russian spy novel in order to avoid Trump investigating the Clinton server and how both Hillary and Obama violated the espionage act, a crime punishable by heavy fines and up to 10 years in prison.

Considering information about Songbird started flooding out during the campaign, there's also some factions really high up that want McCain damaged/gone as well.

The man is an actual Traitor, and not in the rhetorical sense. There's a reason Trump went after him when he was mouthing off during the campaign. McCain is utterly controlled by others and seems to also be going senile as well.

I've been saying McCain is a baka bhazi boy for the jews for years. The fact that he coordinates with the ((media))) is the proof.

He's doing it because he's blackmailed I'd imagine.

Then again he has a slimy past goin back to his Tokyo Rose communist broadcasts for the Vietcong detailed by Ron Unz.

Sharing it with a foreign head of state...that's extra federal pound him in the ass prison charges since it was divulged to a foreign national! Anyone want to be the SVR was eavesdropping on that conversation? Good job you douche!

I assumed all along McCain and Graham probably were involved in the illegal spying and leaks. They both are Soros stooges. Just last week McCain called Sen. Paul, ironically, a "Putin stooge" because the latter expressed opposition to NATO membership for Macedonia. In recent days it has emerged the native Macedonians overwhelmingly oppose American involvement in their country due to Soros' support of a socialist-Muslim coalition there.

McCain and Soros need to be hung by the neck until dead. Although in the case of McCain, widespread public humiliation will cause him enough pain to substitute for death.

Incidentally, the smartest maneuver the communists ever made was the release of this corrupt old bastard back to America. If McCain is being blackmailed, it is likely due to financial corruption. Past behavior is a good indicator of future behavior.

The guy claims McCain was pissed at the guy in front of him from putting too much fuel in the burner cans and shooting a nice long flame right at McCain's plane. I don't know. If its at all true then he's probably responsible for more destruction and loss of life than that prison camp ever was. The guy did say that he was transfered off the carrier before the fire was even out.

Is "combat experience" a corollary to Diversity Pokemon Points, where someone who has enough becomes untouchable, becoming "he who cannot be criticized?"

This is the problem I have with deification of "people who served." Whenever someone suggests that military service should be a requirement of citizenship they imply that spending several years or more in a rigid hierarchy stuffed with intrigue and Machiavellian politics, and that reflects all the same weaknesses as the culture it "defends" somehow makes a man "better" and his opinions more valid.

I'm all for making those who want warfare be required to lead from the front. Only those with skin in the game should open their mouths. But deifying people like McCain is self-evidently idiotic.

Well I used to actually work John McCain back in the day. This was 1999-2000, when he was running for president the first time. When we lost to George Bush, I seemed to be alone among the staff for being a little bit relieved. I had come the conclusion the John lacked the mettle to be a president. My opinion was that you didn't want to be a soldier in his army, that he wasn't a very good general.

I did vote for him, though, against Obama on the Greater Devil Theory. I don't regret that, but I do lament that we were given such a choice in the first place.

But over time I've had to re-adjust my theory on McCain yet again. He not only makes a poor general, he makes a poor soldier.

I was almost hollering at the TV, "He's already answered your question!" He recognizes the Constitution, will base his rulings on the laws as set by Congress. He does NOT MAKE law.

Yet Leahy persisted. Gorsuch could have said something like, Sir, perhaps we are talking around each other. I have repeatedly answered your question, "as best as I am able. I will obey the law passed by the legislature. I do not make Law" (paraphrase)

Yet, Gorsuch was calm, and patient.

Personally, I don't think Leary was hitting on all cylinders.

DC,

Regarding deification of service members, for some it (service) seems to take the place of a "right of passage" and to signify a higher level of social cache (proven manhandhood).
Its not the only action at play and I'm not suggesting that is accurate, but I definitely run into that one.

The man was a bad pilot, who only got through flight school due to his father's rank. That accident should have convinced him to stop flying combat aircraft.

McCain is an essentially puerile person, who has spent his life trying to maintain the facade that he is a Big Man like Admiral Daddy was. When younger, he did this by acting out with stereotypical "bad boy" antics; as an older politician he did it by being a "maverick" Republican, supplied with his narcissistic ego juice by the leftist media who created and fueled his reputation. It makes me wonder if someone profiled him and marked him as an exploitable.

McCain has never been a hero. He was a horrible pilot and him getting shot down probably saved us more aircraft in the long run. I suspect it burns him a little each time someone calls him a hero because he damn well knows what he did. And his involvement with the creation of ISIS (with the help of McMuffin) didn't go unnoticed either. His being part of the Gang of Eight for amnesty isn't forgotten. Hell, pick a given year and you can find him backstabbing us. Keating Five? POW/MIA coverup? Etc. I can't wait to be rid of this national and political traitor.

I've despised him ever since he proposed his campaign finance reform law, which was a transparent attempt to entrench the political elite.

Reading what is written on the Forrestal fire, the rocket in question was launched by a F4 with a faulty firing switch. John MaCain was in an A4 that was down range of the rocket, next to the A4 that was hit and managed to get out just in time to avoid being blown up. He was wounded in the incident and his aircraft destroyed. Again he was next to the airplane hit, he was not in the F4 that fired the rocket.

The real issue was the use of 1000 Lb bombs that were decaying and should have been dumped over the side of the ship, which could not handle the fire and exploded, instead of burning as designed.

He may have been a crappy pilot ( I have no idea)and he may be a cuck (seems to be one), but he was not at fault for that fire in 1967 or its severity and to say so is to engage in "bearing false witness". Not a good thing to do....

I'll give McCain credit where it's due. He was offered parole and refused it.

I will grant there is the issue of was it easier to stay at the Hanoi Hilton or return home and be labeled a coward.

None the less he "kept faith with his fellow prisoners and did not accept parole or special favors from the enemy."

Of course he wasn't the only guest of the North Vietnamese who could say that. He was just the highest ranking.

The problem is once he came back to the world he became convinced that he was now due very special favors indeed.

He was convinced he was a child of destiny.

His wife had been loyal to him through out his imprisonment. He did not return that favor. Dumping her for a beer baron's brainless daughter half his age was sleazy.

His being a "maverick" was just a good way to get his ego stroked by the press. Then there was his treatment of Sarah Palin, who was the only reason he was even in the running for any length of time at all.

Being a hero once, when you have no choice does not give you a life-time pass for everything else you do afterwards.

"Tokyo Rose" McCain killed 134 US sailors. His uncle was an admiral(same one that covered up the USS Liberty attack by jews)

whether Juan McAmnesty was next to the plane that got hit by the missile or was the man who actually pulled the trigger ( and then had his old man falsify the After Action report ) is irrelevant to my point.

McAmnesty never tried to kill any Japs. his war was Vietnam.

you know ... the one with Vietnamese in it?

McCain is most definitely NOT a hero. However, it's easy to make a very strong case arguing that he should make himself An Hero.

Anonymous Susan March 24, 2017 11:02 PM

With regards to Wiki's telling of the McCain history on the Forestal, I believe somebody went in and cleaned that story up. Because about a year before McCain's primary fight with Dr. Ward, the tale was just as was related in one of the comments above.

McCain's arrogance contributed to that fire. He got a lot of good men killed and maimed. But during the general election, out of curiosity I looked up McCain's bio on Wiki. Was drastically changed, and wiped clean to erase McCain's responsibility for that ship's fire.

One other point. McCain did not just divorce his first wife, he left her in a pile of medical problems of her own, thanks to a serious car accident on an icy road on or around NYE about a year before he was released from the POW camp.

The wreck left what was a lovely woman a cripple reduced to needing canes for walking and in massive chronic pain. So when McCain came back and found out what happened, he did go out after awhile and found himself a new wife, suitable for politics.

But to keep first wife quiet and not doing an expose'(a book) on him, McCain and his new wife paid all her medical bills and made a huge settlement on her.

As to the name Songbird, the POW's laid that one on him themselves. They all knew then and still know now, what a Prat he really is.

One other thing is that McCain started out as a democrat, but when he saw Reagan was going to win, he switched parties and rode Reagan's coattails into office. He might have changed party label, but he has always been a democrat.

@178. Come now, Dirk. One does not make oneself an hero. One simply becomes an hero. Making oneself anything requires sufficient testicular fortitude to preclude an heroics.

to the contrary, the only way to become an An Hero is to do it yourself.

Here is a link to the Wikipedia editing on McCain and his responsibility for the fire.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:USS_Forrestal_fire

It seems he was not at all at fault, at least that is my reading of of the discussion on the editing of that page. My guess is the story posted in the spring of 2008 was an attempt to swiftboat McCain.

Of course on cannot trust Wikipedia, so if someone has a reputable reference that says otherwise, please post it.

At the time, I thought the homonym (Trump was insistent on the apostrophe) was to inoculate himself against a reversal, since there was already a meme at Conservative Treehouse of him as a lion, neither donkey nor elephant. But I also wondered if it was also meant as a possible healing meme for Cruz if he got on board the Trump train. Sounds like a solid maybe.

I most certainly do not like McCain.

But, unless I am mistaken, the conflagration aboard the USS Forrestal, was caused by the "misfire" of a Zuni rocket, by an F4-Phantom.

It fired across the deck, and started McCain's A-4 Skyhawk to start firing off it's ordnance, too.

I don't think he was the cause of the "Forrest Fire", as my brother-in-law, who served on the vessel, (but not at that time), told me.

He did tell me, he personally witnessed at least two deck men sucked into the jet engines of planes while he served upon her. She was considered "unlucky", so he said.

@61 In the Navy, we called her the U.S. Forest Fire. The flight deck ops cameras recorded the horrors and the deaths and the burning and destruction ... and the heroic Navy guys running madly fighting the flames and trying desperately to save the pilots... SO painful to watch.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6NnfRT_OZA

(They used to show the film (as a safety measure) at the firefighting school to new sailors.)

@72 "Whenever someone suggests that military service should be a requirement of citizenship they imply that spending several years or more in a rigid hierarchy stuffed with intrigue and Machiavellian politics, and that reflects all the same weaknesses as the culture it "defends" somehow makes a man "better" and his opinions more valid."

OR, they are suggesting that those men are willing to risk their lives for the concept of *the country and their posterity* have shown that they are willing to so even despite the "rigid hierarchy stuffed with intrigue and Machiavellian politics, and ... all the same weaknesses as the culture" -- which those NOT willing to so risk their lives also 'suffer' under, but are not willing to do.

Surely you're not suggesting that the men who do NOT join the service somehow escape spending several years under a hierarchy that actually teaches the difference between lawful order and unlawful order, that provides the 'band of brothers' connection and willingness to suffer and protect' "their people" (and all the damned hangers-on) of the country?

(There is also a version of 'growing up' that occurs merely by having been in the service -- would that all the special little snowflakes and their friends could be forced to face reality!)

Doesn't (necessarily) make a man better; might make (some of) his opinions more valid merely by virtue of having had SOME experience of real life; beyond the cushion of growing up here now!

@113 "He may have been a crappy pilot ( I have no idea)and he may be a cuck (seems to be one), but he was not at fault for that fire in 1967 or its severity and to say so is to engage in "bearing false witness". Not a good thing to do...."

Because the Navy has NEVER lied or covered up in its official records... riiiiight....

Go read up on the USS Liberty-- and Cucky McCucky's admiral daddy who called back the fighters that were launched to SAVE that crew!

@110 Don't be hating on Cynthia McKinney, she was a straight shooter. She was ahead of the curve on many issues. If I recall correctly she was the first Congressman to claim 9/11 was an inside job. A cynic might see her being replaced by Hank as an action by the Deep State to protect itself
