Fool me once

Apparently Wired thinks I can't remember two whole years ago.
I’m a writer at WIRED magazine. I saw the Hugo noms this morning, and I have to ask about Stix Hiscock. What can you tell me about him? How did you discover him, and why was he a Rabid Puppies candidate this year?
My response:

That's hilarious. I made the mistake of talking to you jokers once before. No thanks. You'll have to sustain your Narrative without my help.

The amusing thing is that I even received two emails from Wired editors trying, and failing, to defend their writer's little off-topic hit piece after I wrote about it here. They know they're full of shit, they just want to hide that uncomfortable little fact from their readership.

As Andrew Torba says, I don't talk to Fake News.

The legacy media is trying to dismiss, alienate and discredit the altright. No matter since we are quite adaptable. But there would be no point in talking to media. They do it to appear fair, while iln the article you can be assured that there will be subtle jabs ('fringe'. 'intolerant' etc) as well as the guilt by association attack.

No way to win. Unless you're geniuscrazy like MC.

Blogger Alexander April 04, 2017 6:40 PM

A little offended that Wired even thinks it's news, tbh. Homophobia, dinophobia... always trying to "other". Don't they know it's 2017, and this kind of microagression by implying that someone doesn't "naturally belong" is NOT OKAY.

Rumor has it that Mr. Hiscock is a bit idiosyncratic in that he will only conduct interviews in person, in a completely darkened room, and in writing. With the journalist's eyes duct taped closed.

I like weev's response to requests for interviews, which is to state his hourly fee, followed by stringent abuse of jews.

"Stix Hiscock grew up in Balls Falls, Ontario, and is into extreme ironing and competitive mooing. Stix is also a Hugo Award finalist erotic sci-fi fantasy writer, and all round meat lover. Other interests include arguing, pickling, and whittling wooden woodcocks."

2.
"This prolific science fiction and fantasy author of the Hugo nominated "Alien Stripper Boned From Behind By The T-Rex" and other beloved classics including "Half-man, Half-Horse, All Love" can be read along with over 1 million other books with Kindle Unlimited."

3.
"Rabid puppies, initially organized by person of color and marginalized and oppressed Native American, Vox Day, are a diverse group of transformative fiction fans interested in science fiction and fantasy which does what it has always done: pushed the boundaries of science and belief to give a voice to the unknown and unimagined. Hugo-nominated "Alien Stripper Boned from Behind by the T-Rex" is just one such unimaginable title.  Another is the Obelisk Gate by minority author N.K. Jemisin. Since Rabid Puppies have always supported women and writers of color, we find your question strange. Are you fake news?"

Never again... Never forget. Never repeat.

In the future, you will be able to access literature's classics such as, Alien Stripper Boned from Behind by the T-Rex and others from the Tingler era.

Think about it! Now we only need to have a movie called Ass be noiminated for an Oscar and Terry Crews as president.

If the alt-right were not considered a formidable adversary, there'd simply be no need for attempted marginalization.

Not unlike the flailing which accompanies the death throes of a nation past its prime, so too are the Opposition Media behaving with the frenzied composure of an entity in mortal terror.

And as you depart, dont let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya.

Well, I for one would very much like to interface with that writer for Wired, plumb the depths of her knowledge, exploring mutual interests. Where can I find her?

Anonymous DeeJay April 04, 2017 8:59 PM

Yeah, I also really loved reading Wired in the early/mid-'90's. Their stories were steeped equally in that era's weird techno-bohemian optimism and an edgy cyberpunk mentality, COMPLETELY unlike any other publications being put out at the time. Minimal politics and great art direction, too.

But once the millennium turned, the magazine got swallowed up by the usual MSM congloms, and quickly went downhill as just another bland, overtly liberal rag: Newsweek With Computers, effectively. Fer chrissakes, the last two physical copies I saw recently both had Barack Obama on their covers.

Anonymous a deplorable rubberducky April 04, 2017 9:14 PM

Blogger Jew613 April 04, 2017 9:24 PM

National Review showed a precipitous 37% drop in newsstand sales, after a 9% drop in 2014. The Week saw a similar decline – down 35% in 2015, and Wired declined 25%. Of the 14 news magazines tracked in this analysis, four declined by 10% or more, and eight outlets were down overall.

The point where I started writing Wired off was their PUSH! issue in 1997. The second I read it, I realized they had jumped the shark. It completely missed the point of the Net, and sounded like old TV hands trying to force the Net to be like TV.

Not cool at all. And nowadays I suppose an organization that would let something like that slip by would also be susceptible to SJW convergence.

I subscribed to Wireless back when it had interesting articles. I haven't renewed by subscription in years and they still send me issues (it's not on auto-renewal). They just keep sending it year after year, although I've told them to stop. This tells me it has essentially become a free adzine

Mick wrote:They just keep sending it year after year, although I've told them to stop. This tells me it has essentially become a free adzineVirtually all print magazines have. My daughter started receiving women's magazines on her 18th birthday. Now, years later, she receives Elle, Elle Decor, Better Homes and Gardens, Redbook and Architectural Digest, all without ever having subscribed to a magazine. She used to get Cosmopolitan too, until I sent them a nastygram, asking them to stop sending porn to my home with underage children in it.

Interesting thing about Redbook. It's back after an embarrassing interlude as Rosie O'Donnell Magazine. I looked though a recent issue and there was not a single "use sex to validate your pathetic existence", "being a slut means you're powerful and smart and sexy", "entrap a man with sex and ruin his life" or "abortion saved my marriage" article in the whole issue. The Health section had low-carb diet advice, how to not feel run-down and a pretty factual article article on breast cancer.

It was so unlike a modern women's magazine I had to check the cover to make sure it wasn't a Christian publication.

The alt-right doesn't fit into any of the lefts' handy-dandy narratives. Each time they try, they get their collective ass handed to them. So they continue to probe carefully around the edges, such as this Wired request. Too bad for them, they'll continue to be perplexed.

The quality of atheist parents are on display here. They raise such pathetic losers who have nothing better to do than go to a comment section discussing a lame magazine in a desperate attempt to turn it into atheist discussion. Such sad displays of "please pay attention to us, we're really not losers," doesn't fool anyone. God does indeed love you but you rejected that love, and now you are trying to fill that void, but it won't work, you made yourself unbearable. Go away.

Good point about conglomerates. Wired is owned by Conde-Nast. Supposedly, I had the ability to get online copies of the magazine to read, but that feature never worked. I'd register an account, it told me my account already existed, so I'd try to reset the password, and it said the account doesn't exist. I tried calling the helpline, but it landed me in "phone-tree hell". Hard to respect a "tech" magazine that can't even get an account process working.

It's not a ban. Blogger has an algorithm. If you start to collect enough spams from enough Blogger sites, your comments will gradually start to get caught in the spam traps.

Which means that by the time your comments start disappearing, it is obvious that you have not only touched the poop, but you enjoy playing in it.

They wanted to talk to me about the alt-right. I politely declined and they followed up with a list of questions. The tone was so snotty and condescending I was tempted to respond with something less polite, but I thought better of it. I just ignored it.

My view is you support the media that supports you and you do nothing to support the media that opposes you. It's not all that complicated. If you go on MSNBC, you are aiding MSNBC in their war on the normies. If you are taking a check from the enemy, then you are on *their* team, not *my* team.
