Sexism at ESPN

These coverage statistics are truly shameful, especially from ESPN, which loves to devote its commentary to the sexist and racist injustices of others:
Women’s sports have never been more popular — everywhere except on television, that is. Both the quality and quantity of women’s sports coverage is far eclipsed by that of men’s sports and in some respects has actually worsened over time, according to the latest iteration of a 25-year longitudinal study of gender in televised sports news and highlights shows. SportsCenter, ESPN’s flagship program, dedicated just 2 percent of its airtime to women’s sports in 2014, according to the report — a figure that has remained flat since 1999.
The only answer is for ESPN to devote 50 percent of its coverage and commentary to women's sports. Anything less would be sexist and absolutely unacceptable. It's 2017! How can ESPN possibly justify such massive inequality in its coverage?

Ratings are irrelevant. What is important is for ESPN to live up to its own, loudly-trumpeted social justice ideals. And until it does, its representatives should shut the hell up about any perceived social justice failures by the various sports leagues.

You joke, but the right really ought to be infiltrating and subverting the left and making them go full retard like this.

4chan did something like this once with #CancelFathersDay on Twitter, and it worked brilliantly at alienating normies from feminists when the feminists actually took it seriously and ran with it. There was also the recent incident with HuffPo publishing an article about removing white mens' right to vote, and the leftist idiots actually defended it before realizing it was a troll.

ESPN is a structurally sexist organization for contributing to the wage gap in sports. At least 50% of their spending on sports rights needs should go towards women's sports.

Blogger Wolfman at Large May 10, 2017 5:27 AM

I think eight hours a day of women's beach volleyball would be a dramatic improvement over the vast majority of ESPN's current content. Not a complete solution towards true female empowerment but it's a step forward towards a progressive future and would no doubt improve overall ratings.

Excellent idea! As an alternative platform the WWWBV (World Wide Women's Beach Volleyball) channel would Foxnews ESPN, be 103% diverse, sell a lot of beer ads, and go a long way toward closing the wage gap.

WWWBV: "All Brazilians. All the time."

ESPN covers college sports. Thus, according to a robust Justice Dept. Office of Civil Rights, it should be subject to Title IX. Men's sports coverage must be reduced, or ESPN must add women's coverage equal in value to the men's coverage.

While we're at it, why not force colleges to offer sports scholarships to trannies? ESPN loves them some Jenner; let them go bankrupt broadcasting the TFL.

Alinsky Rule #4: "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules."

Nationwide troll campaign to demand ESPN cover 33.3% men's sports, 33.3% women's, and 33.3% trans.

Those categories can be further broken down into, Straight, Cis, Bi, Gay, etc, etc.

The Right should have been using Alinsky style tactics 30 years ago.

These equalitarians are really daft and show a religious devotion to pretending natural differences don't exist. It requires a lot of brainwashing and lies and delusion to keep believing that men and women are the same or that Africans and Europeans are basically the same.

As MidEast is filled with Islamic fanatics, so the West is filled with these marxist/egalitarian fanatics.

And I am sorry to say that this marxism is also seeping into the elite consciousness in my country (India). Only the other day I picked up some socio-political magazine and it was filled with pro-muslim hogwash and calls to give special treatment to incoming African migrants to fight 'racism.' Some govt. official who (rightfully) blamed Nigerians for dealing drugs in India was also disparaged. Elites believe these things not because they make logical sense, but to maintain a decorum (of lies) and signal high status.

Because by then trannys will be competing and mopping the floor with actual, real, anatomical, genetic type women.

Yes, I'm looking forward to it because it is the ultimate lose/lose for SJWs. The fact that women can't compete with men and that trannys aren't women will be rubbed right in their faces.

Don't forget to institute quotas on play time for each gender. Can't wait to see a female line backer try to tackle a male full back. Of course, the fun would only last long enough for the leagues to find enough trannies willing to play.

A couple of decades ago I was on the student's council and in charge of athletics. The outgoing athletic director (girl, hot one) told me that apending on girl's sports and men's sports should be 50/50.

We had four men's hockey teams, the top two of which had competitive tryouts and full-time coaches (volunteers). We had one women's team, and we were lucky to have more than 5 skaters at a time. I should know, I helped coach them. Not only that, but the equipment for the girls was provided and stored at the arena, they didn't even have to lug a hockey bag across campus.

So I gave the girls' team a bit of extra practice time as a sop, which again as one of their coaches didn't bother me much. Neither did the fact that most of them were pretty and liked to practice in jogging pants that often slipped down.

Not much even then. There's a lingerie football league -- America's favorite sport played by hot chicks in bikins, can't miss, right? No one cares. Watch it on YouTube, because there isn't a big enough audience for TV.

Men (and women) just don't care to watch women's sports, because what makes sports great is bound up with the masculine virtues. A couple of small exceptions like tennis and Olympic gymastics only prove the rule.

But yeah, mandating equal coverage of the WNBA, women's powerlifting, and the like is a much better way to go. More like force them to accept it, even though they don't like it. If they liked it, that would detract from the virtuousness of the act. The altruism is less pure. It's not true altruism if you get any satisfaction from the act, so real virtue lies in forcing others to behave "altruistically" against their will. To the extent that it's a coherent moral philosophy, that's the way I understand it, anyway.

Blogger Francis Parker Yockey May 10, 2017 3:00 PM

Forcibly combining women's tennis tournaments with those of the men amounts to implicit support for the patriarchy. Clearly, this tactic is meant to reinforce the norm of women as subordinate, and send the message that they only merit attention in terms of their relationship to men. The only possible solution is to hold separate tournaments. This would clearly demonstrate women's strength and independence, and allow them to escape from the constraints of the sexist, cisheteronormative model that has been so unfairly imposed upon them in the past.
